Bilderberg Group discusses "Global Cooling" at 2010 meeting

James Delingpole has found something interesting:

He writes:

Bilderberg. Whether you believe it’s part of a sinister conspiracy which will lead inexorably to one world government or whether you think it’s just an innocent high-level talking shop, there’s one thing that can’t be denied: it knows which way the wind is blowing. (Hat tips: Will/NoIdea/Ozboy)

At its June meeting in Sitges, Spain (unreported and held in camera, as is Bilderberg’s way), some of the world’s most powerful CEOs rubbed shoulders with notable academics and leading politicians. They included: the chairman of Fiat, the Irish Attorney General Paul Gallagher, the US special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke, Henry Kissinger, Bill Gates, Dick Perle, the Queen of the Netherlands, the editor of the Economist…. Definitely not Z-list, in other words.

Which is what makes one particular item on the group’s discussion agenda so tremendously significant.

The 58th Bilderberg Meeting will be held in Sitges, Spain 3 – 6 June 2010. The Conference will deal mainly with Financial Reform, Security, Cyber Technology, Energy, Pakistan, Afghanistan, World Food Problem, Global Cooling, Social Networking, Medical Science, EU-US relations.

Yep, that’s right. Global Cooling. Which means one of two things. Either it was a printing error.

Or the global elite is perfectly well aware that global cooling represents a far more serious and imminent threat to the world than global warming, but is so far unwilling to admit it except behind closed doors.

Let me explain briefly why this is a bombshell waiting to explode.

I have been saying this for years. Warming may be an inconvenience but cooling if it is extensive will be a catastrophe.
Ice age coming?

the “politics” continues…in “good faith”…
27 Sept: ABC: PM to chair climate change committee
By online political correspondent Emma Rodgers
Ms Gillard extended the invitation to the Coalition to join the committee with the caveat that they must agree climate change is real and that a carbon price is needed.
“We are saying very clearly to the Coalition that we would ask them to work in good faith with this committee,” she said…

Fits in rather nicely with your previous guest post on SST’s and Glaciers.

There exists a lot of misunderstanding about warming, moisture, droughts and cooling. A cooler world is a disaster, even though water shortage was accurately predicted some 20 years ago. Follow this link: “Heat waves as a result of global cooling?”

The people will not be happy when they try to scare us about Global Cooling. Not after being being so brow-beat over Global Warming for the last 20 years.

“Global Cooling”
YEP!

Since “global cooling” came right after “food problem” maybe it was supposed to be “global coolers” i.e. refrigerators for the third world.
Or maybe not.

I can see cooly now the warm is gone!
I can see all obstacles in my way!
Gone are the rising seas that scared us blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)

M. Simon says: “…Warming may be an inconvenience but cooling if it is extensive will be a catastrophe.”
Warming won’t even be much of an inconvenience if we don’t let certain parties try to spend our way out of it to the tune of whatever-comes-after-trillions. Cooling, yes, potentially catastrophic, but could be worse than that if we first try to prevent natural warming and reduce our resources. Certain parties are trying to drive the price of coal down with cap & betrayal to the point that China can loot our largest reserve of energy unimpeded.

It’s probably in relation to “how we get some global cooling via geo-engineering”.

I wonder if Anthony (He is the Anti-Christ) Watts will now be accepted into society and invited to conferences etc now he is being proven right.

Really. Weather(sic) cooling or warming, these idiots have proved as useful as tits on a bull. Undoubtedly the release is to inspire ‘Weather Derivatives” or some such BS.

Since the conference is held in Spain perhaps the agenda item in question should have been titled [with apologies in advance] “Besame Cooler.”

Perhaps they wanted to discuss how the reality of global cooling would affect the selling of the warming fantasy. How inconvenient.

Set up another UN panel with a mandate to find global cooling and let the two factions battle it out. But don’t forget that they will also be charged with finding the anthropomorphic fingerprint in the signal so that ‘action’ can be taken.
My money would be on a finding that CO2 has a negative feedback to temperatures with a phase delay caused by ocean induced lag (Latest; new study finds etc.) That way the global tax system does not have to be changed or plans modified, climate scientists have saved the day and politicians are off the hook.

It’s a hoax site. The Bilderberg Group does not have an official web site and they don’t publish their agenda. The site is owned by a fringe Dutch publisher called Uitgeverij Van Praag under the alias Rene Van Praag. They are currently promoting a book called Bilderberg Conferences: Organization and operation of a secret transatlantic network. See here: http://tinyurl.com/2dhfc9t

Anyone know which ‘Professor’ did the Global Cooling briefing at this meeting ???

This unexpected inclusion in the Bilderberg agenda was noted by the wilder conspiracy theory blogosphere some time ago. However, the general consensus (if one may use that word) there was that “Global Cooling” was indeed referring to geoengineering, as “Notconvinced” also speculates.
If nothing else, it is a good example of how a rumour, a misprint or a small inaccuracy can be eventually be spun into a narrative.
I would speculate in turn that we are not done with Global Warming and the demonisation of CO2 for a good while yet. As the theory is tweaked into “Climate Change ” and “Climate Disruption” it becomes more and more difficult to disprove.
Alas, if we are really in for a new “Little Ice Age” we are, in the UK where I am, seriously ill-eqipped to deal with it. We are already receiving much increased utility bills and are facing heating gas and electricity shortages in the near future in any event which we are trying to counteract with a program of wind turbines, and er…at present not much else. It will not be pretty if it does occur.

I stated James Delingpole’s concluding sentance, “We need a Global Warming Nuremberg,” back when Climate Audit ran with the story about “The New Leaderboard at NASA,” (when 1934 regained its spot as “warmest year” at NASA, albeit briefly.)
http://climateaudit.org/2007/08/08/a-new-leaderboard-at-the-us-open/
Lets see, McIntyre posted on August 8, 2007. I was so hopping mad about Hansen re-readjusting the readjusted adjustments that I wrote comments McIntyre wouldn’t post, one of which mentioned a Nuremberg for Hansen.
I wound up raving about a Nuremberg for Hansen over at the Accuweather site, and Boy Oh Boy, did I ever earn myself a backlash. It likely did me good. One must learn to stand up for truth somewhere.
Now it is three years later, and Hansen recently got a donation of something like $700,000 from some fool in Japan. This stuff still makes my blood boil, however I’m learning to avoid bulging out the veins in my forehead so much. These quasi-scientists aren’t worth the gloom, when the sun is shining.
I hope the sun breaks out very brightly in November, when people vote. There should be some hearings in congress. There will then be no way to “hide the decline,” and I think some Hansen underlings will be more than glad to spill the beans, especially as Hansen hasn’t always been the kindest boss.
That could well be Hansen’s Nuremberg.

Your links do not lead to this story. They lead to a story about Graham changing his Cap and Trade vote, and a thing about penguins dying of cold.
This story is news, even if it took since June to percolate to our attention.

When are these people going to start working on real problems?

Richard S Courtney

It was estimated that there was global cooling from ~1940 to ~1970.
This resulted in the assertion during the 1960s and 1970s that emissions of sulphur dioxide from power generation were responsible for the cooling, and misanthropes used this to oppose the energy supplies required for industrial civilisation.
Then the cooling trend reversed and it was estimated that there wa global warming from ~1970 to ~2000. This made the global cooling scare untenable by the 1980s.
So, the assertion of anthropogenic global cooling was morphed into an assertion of anthropogenic global warming i.e.
the assertion during the 1980s and (and after) that emissions of carbon dioxide from power generation were responsible for the warming, and misanthropes used this to oppose the energy supplies required for industrial civilisation.
But the global warming stopped around ~2000 and there has been little global warming or cooling since. Indeed, there has been no statistically significant change to global temerature since 1995.
So, now they want to morph the issue back to global cooling?
I look forward to seeing how they intend to do that, and I will continue my three decades of defence against their attacks on the scientific method and the benefits of industrial civilisation.
Richard
