Gore concedes, National Wildlife Federation calls skeptics "bastards"

Gore concedes on climate this year

By Steve Milloy GreenHellBlog, August 10, 2010

Speaking about the likelihood of climate bill being passed by Congress in 2010, Al Gore told a conference call of supporters tonight that, “this battle has not been successful and is pretty much over for this year.” Gore bitterly denounced the Senate and federal government stating several times, “The U.S. Senate has failed us” and “The federal government has failed us.” Gore even seemed to blame President Obama by emphasizing that “the government as a whole has failed us… although the House did its job. [emphasis added]”

Gore urged his listeners to take the “realistic view that they had failed badly.” Gore said that “Comprehensive legislation is not likely to be debated” and that a “lame duck debate” is a “very slim possibility indeed.” (N.B. We thought, because Gore told us, that “the debate” was over.)

Gore blamed the skeptics for “attacking science and scientists.” “They [the skeptics] did damage and cast doubt,” Gore said.

In a warm-up discussion before Gore addressed the call, National Wildlife Federation chief Larry Schweiger referred to the skeptics as “enemies” and that he hoped the alarmists would “outlive the bastards.”

It is tempting to say something over the top… but for Gore and his kind I feel pity. Some of them actually believe this stuff. It’s possible Gore even believes it, although as most people know his actions show that he most likely doesn’t.
And this is an ideal time to point out another extremely dangerous thing going on… Gates and Buffet’s challenge to billionaires to give away half their money.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of beneficiaries of this gigantic giveaway are or will be LEFTIST causes, since they’re the ones already set up as charities. We have to be prepared for even better financed children of the 60’s pushing their warped and distorted view of reality.
This battle may be a stalemate, but the war is just beginning.

The Alarmists did this to themselves, not the skeptics. Too many tall tales and wild predictions came to nought, and they have been trapped in thier own web of crying wolf.
The way out for them is simple: stop blaming the molecule of life for all ills, real or imagined.

Ol’ Al never got over losing in 2000. He’s bitter, he’s angry. He doesn’t have a black carbon streaked snow ball’s chance in hell of ever becoming POTUS. He has always been an environmentalist lackey. AGW was his shot to be a world superstar. It just didn’t turn out that way. If we never become so stupid as to trade CO2 emissions as a commodity old Al will NEVER become a carbon billionaire.
This dung heap already has more money than he can spend for the rest of his lifetime. It’s time to either debate or shut up.

I saw that, too. I gotta call bs on that. I don’t know why, but my bs meter went off the charts when I read billionaires were lining up for the game. Something has been promised to somebody. I don’t know what, why or how, but I know my meter broke the glass. OTOH, what’s a billion when the U.S. is giving away trillions? I think that is where the game is being played, I just don’t know what the name of the game is. Probably something like “grabbing the money.” Note, half of the bailout is still unspent. I’m wondering how it would benefit the billionaires of this world to give away half of their worldly possessions? Half of the bailout is still unspent.

The Carbon Offset Trading Gore/Blood combo is totally covered in flies. Nasty, dirty lying flies. So glad for the USA that he never made President.
Just wish he wasn’t anything to do with Apple……..

The alarmists are letting the skeptics “think” they won. The plan is definitely on for the lame duck session. Don’t fool yourselves, these guys always play to win – at any cost!

Yeh, but then they have to argue David Ricardo was wrong. In the end, they are Malthusian. Life isn’t precious to them, life is an abomination to them. Thus, CO2 is an abomination. They don’t really give a rat’s azz about whether the earth is warmer or not,(see the change of vernacular from global warming to climate change) they care about being deciders of who stays and who must go in the name of our common(collective) good and welfare.
PS, this is why I also wish you guys and gals would be a bit nicer to GM, he is, at least, honest about his point of view and gives me insight to the thinking of people with “alternate” views on life.

“Bastard”? “Inglorious Bastards” please.
And then Al can then play the role of Hans “I love rumors! Facts can be so misleading, where rumors, true or false, are often revealing. ” Landa 🙂
Or try at least.

GM is the sort I would want to persuade to look squarely at the fact that the observational evidence simply doesn’t add up to what the IPCC projects.
But he’d better lose the preconceptions about America and Americans; his errors in this regard may one day lead him badly astray.

It only means that the possibility of making money off climate change via cap and tax is dead.
The EPA’s Action Jackson has no problems with regulating us back to the stone age.
If Congress and the Senate can’t pull it off, she will.

We feel that climate science is, in the current situation, too important to be kept under wraps.
We hereby release a random selection of correspondence, code, and documents.
Hopefully it will give some insight into the science and the people behind it.

Yes, you are correct, and the message given is that they won’t go quietly.
They never were ones to be softspoken, and now they have lost thier cool.
As some have said here, they will try to do by force what they originally planned to do by stealth.
Bare knuckles rankle the masses.

It never ceases to amaze me how Gore gets to speak at these conferences! Surely the AGW crowd must understand that he is laughed at by most of the free world with his nonsense!
How many on the sceptical side have called his bluff and challenged him to debate the subject?
I tend to think the U.S. Senate and the federal government have given up on Cap and trade after watching Gore make error after error. The Senators etc must know how much he has raked in financially as well!
Lets home they keep dragging him along because he is always worth a giggle!

I think, if he were forced to assess the evidence of the IPCC, he wouldn’t hesitate to agree with you. CAGW isn’t his argument. He’s stated he is a Malthusian. In spite of all the vitriol, the CAGW crowd are, in most part, Malthusian. We have, and should continue to, beat them down at every avenue regarding CAGW/CC, but, this isn’t where the fight is. It is a “red herring”. Listen to the shift in the argument.(Cooling, warming, extremes, more warming, floods,…ect) It always comes back to the same theme. “We can’t continue to use up the earth’s resources.” The fact of the matter is, if we found some mineral on the moon we could use, people would object.
People live, people breed, LIFE, in human terms, must be accommodated.
Edward Gibbons put it better than I …….”We improve ourselves by victories over ourself. There must be contests, and you must win.”……..if this is true for the individual, how much greater is the truth for humanity?
This is the greatest question before humanity today. Be it in the form of global warming, or climate change, or ecological overshoot, it is a contest that must be won. In spite of the great challenge, failure to do so is unimaginable.

“Gore concedes …”
Yeah.
Funny —not really— how it is, that actually breaking out in a sweat, i.e., engaging is honest labor, seems anathema to earning a living anymore.
Why is it, that when one is ‘born’ into the lap of luxury, that he condescendingly feels compelled to lord it over everyone else?
Mr. Gore has likely never known an honest day’s work in his whole pitiful life, yet he would seek to ‘lord it’ over the rest of us.
The hallmarks of his life are studied arrogance and condescension, just like Daddy.
