Sure looks like a heat wave, doesn’t it?
Repower America Reports His View
By Al Gore from his blog @ algore.com
With all the climate deniers spreading lies about the climate crisis in the media, it’s vital we arm ourselves with the facts. Thankfully, Repower America put together a great fact sheet explaining the relationship between the climate crisis and extreme weather:
“Fact: Climate change causes more frequent and severe snowstorms
Record snowstorms need two things: temperatures below freezing, and very high humidity. On a planet warmer by a few degrees on average, the Northeast US will still have plenty of days below freezing; the big difference will be warmer seas producing higher levels of moisture in the air – and therefore more severe cold-season storms.”
“Fact: We can expect more extreme weather
Scientists tell us that climate change has already led to more extreme weather in the United States and we can expect stronger hurricanes, more wildfires, heatwaves and droughts, to name a few.”
“Fact: The world is warming at a quickening pace
Weather in one region over days or months should not be confused with climate or the patterns of weather over decades and centuries. And the science is clear here: the last decade was the hottest on record. And to put this year’s weather in perspective, January was warmer than average for the continental United States”
============================
I could spend lots of time pointing out why each one of these claims is false, and that Mr. Gore is atcually the one who is the liar, by why deprive my readers of all the fun?
One thing Gore doesn’t mention: El Nino. Wonder why?
You can bet he’d be making the same claim if we had a below normal snowfall records too.

Fact: Al Gore invented the internet.
It’s a sad and humbling day when years after the fact it is proven without a doubt, that a couple of weirdos from Colorado that make cartoons are smarter than a Nobel Peace Prize winner. My condolences to Mr. Gore and the death of Manbearpig.
Horse manuevers !
His little graphic doen’t begin to touch the multi-continental
record cold/snows/snow cover/ice we’ve seen recently.
If it was just North America he might be saying something.
Did Boxer and Jackson throw the IPCC under the bus?

Al Gore surfaced again? Did he see his shadow? Do we have another 6 weeks of gorebul warming?
Fact: Our “Extreme” winter, historically speaking, is not extreme. Winters like this are not unprecedented. Rare, but not unprecedented.
Calling something “extreme” does not make it so, and unless they can prove it they should stop using that adjective.
Norway was expected to have a “warmer wilder and wetter” climate.
This winter has been “colder, lamer and drier” with records being broken in both low temperatures, snow duration and dryness. (It snowed, and then it never melted, due to “lack of warming”).
Now we are in for a freezing end of February, as well as a freezing spring, and the seasonal forecast is for a cold summer as well.
But they have probably found a warming station somewhere in southern Argentina, which can be homogenized so as to more than make up for the lack of warming in the northern hemisphere.
It is probably the warmest winter on record!
Sounds like there is a merging of Friedman’s global weirding idea with Gores backing of the Global Warming causes everything train of thought.
I hate this type of reasoning because it’s so wishy washy and unscientific. Anything that happens would illicit the same confirmation bias from true believers.
Example: If it’s not snowing enough it’s global warming.
It’s snowing too much now…consequently….of course it’s global warming! How could it not be?
I’m starting to feel like Mugatu in Zoolander, “Doesn’t anyone notice this? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!”
Al Gore is an idiot?
Idiots the world over resent that remark.
Fact. Al got an A in science.
Actually, I would like to know how to rebut 1, 2, and 3.
“Fact: We can expect more extreme weather like we had back in the 60’s.
Big Al, the Greenies Pal, mentioned in a recent blog that the earth’s oceans have gained a huge amount of energy, this being the energy that we haven’t seen in the global temperatures. Somewhere recently I saw a graph that was hockey-stick like with global ocean energy increases (again, conveniently forgetting the Little Ice Age). HOWEVER, I’ve also seen graphs/data showing a constant or declining upper sea level temperature change. Does anyone know how you increase the heat content of the oceans without increasing the temperature of the oceans? And where does the data on heat content come from? Wouldn’t it be the temperature? How can we have data showing heat content going up but not temperature?
How long will Big Al be able to flog back the atmospheric tides? Canute actually performed his stunt c. AD 1020 to keep flatterers and sycophants in line– his point was that, bluster and flourish as he might, tidewaters rose and fell. Albert the Gore exhibits the opposite tendency, believing his own propaganda oozed forth by feckless ideologues intent on glorifying Gaia’s holy name.
Babs and Weezy, of doofus Senatorial and Commissarski/EPA fame, utter piteous bleats and squeaks as they approach Reality’s sacrificial altar. Once claimed by Climate Gods, most certainly they will not be the last.
Praise be to good ole Al, he has identified a previously unpredicted negative feedback;-) This goes to show how impartial his view is… so maybe now itll only be a lil bit worse than we thought.
“Fact: The world is warming at a quickening pace”
The world is NOT! He also mentioned that we must NOT confuse weather patterns over years or decades with global climate shifts. after he did exactly that. There is no “Normal” or “Average” climate. There is a range of extremes that we experience and we are well within that range for climate which is the average of weather over a period of time. With the knowledge that ocean atmosphere patterns cycle in periods from 40 to 80 years (average about 60), the natural climate range can not be determined without data from at least 3 cycles. That is why NASA and NOAA claim we need 50 more years of accurate data to determine if drastic climate shifting is occurring. Some would say 3 or more cycles of ocean atmosphere patterns which may require as much as 240 years. Until proven otherwise we are experiencing natural climate.
More wildfires?
This strikes me, a former wildland fire fighter and fire ecologist, as preposterous. Take for instance the claim that “warmer seas produc[e] higher levels of moisture in the air”. Low humidity is a HUGE factor in wildfire ignition and rate of spread. Since most wild fires are lightning caused, it would follow that higher RH would translate into fewer dry lightning storms, which would equate to fewer wildfires.
I could go on and on about how this claim is ridiculous, but I have other things to do.
old construction worker (17:22:24) :
“Fact. Al got an A in science.”
Should you not have used the word ‘is’ rather than the word ‘got’?
Fact: The center of the earth is several million degrees.
Fact. Al Gore spells sciance with an A.
1. Define frequency and severe. Please provide a baseline as well. If not, shut your trap.
2. Define extreme weather. Please provide a reliable baseline. If not, shut your trap.
3. Reliable temp record is only 31 years (satellite). All else is hocus-pocus. Prove otherwise, or shut your trap.
Fact: The world is warming at a quickening pace
Weather in one region over days or months should not be confused with climate or the patterns of weather over decades and centuries. And the science is clear here: the last decade was the hottest on record. And to put this year’s weather in perspective, January was warmer than average for the continental United States.
Hey Al, the science is clear here: The MWP really happened. And to put this in perspective the 2000s still weren’t as warm worldwide. Pfffft!
What are those three red dots: Tampa, Kentucky, and right above the lake in Canada?
“You can bet he’d be making the same claim if we had a below normal snowfall records too.” No Tamino has beaten him to that one already
Hey Al:
Fact: El Nino meets Negative Arctic Oscillation. Dumb ass.
