WUWT reader David Summers sends this photo along taken a few days ago in 2007 in Australia from a colleague that “returned there for the summer”. I thought it might make a fun photo caption exercise.

Note: This photo as represented to me in email, was supposedly recent.

Thanks to alert WUWT reader “snow captain of queanbeyanobviously now that is not the case.  So much for trusting friendly emails from people. The photo was originally taken in 2007 and you can see the details here.

Still, as originally intended, feel free to make a fun photo caption.

A few years ago I had some Australian friends visiting, we went to a zoo where the Joey’s were jumping around in the snow.
They were amazed and stated that they did not know Joey’s could handle the cold conditions of Europe.
“This is something we will never experience in Australia” they said.
Well, never say never.

“So this is what Wikipedia means by Global Warming!”
Snippy, I know… but I just got done dealing with the fact that the Jevons Paradox page that ought to deal with a HISTORICAL definition has been turned into another Green Langoliers re-write of the past to match The Agenda…
This pains me a great deal (as I’ve been a supporter of the Intellectual Barn Raising aspect of Wiki… My Amish roots and all…) It pains me greatly to have to say that:
To whomever it was that disparaged Wiki, and I came to their defense, I’m sorry, I was wrong and you were right.
BTW, I’ve “ranted” about the Jevons Paradox page rewrite in my edited copy of the wiki page here:
http://chiefio.wordpress.com/2009/05/12/jevons-paradox-coal-oil-conservation/
So for any PRIOR posting of mine that referenced the wiki page, that page no longer exists. The closest I can come is my link just above.
For the future, it would seem that if ANYONE wants to include a wikipedia link to reference something, they first must save the page somewhere so that in the future their pointer does not end up pointing to a re-write that subverts and disparages their position…
Sigh.
How about:
“Maybe if I put a koala in me pouch I’ll be warmer?”
or
“What the HECK is this stuff? They said it was supposed to be WARMER!!!”

I thought up a pretty good caption, but, on further investigation, found that male roos don’t have pouches. Heck, it probably would have gotten trimmed, anyway.

OT but this seems to be from where DMI ice data comes from
http://saf.met.no/p/quick.html They have both SH and NH ice
and may well be more reliable at this time than other current
satellite ice data which seems all to be out of sync?
DMI remains undaunted and up to date as far as we can see

Funny. How come, that you find the exact same photo illustrating an article of July 2007?

The image seems to have been taken in June 2007, that’s Australian winter two years ago. Snow may or may not still be rare for Australia, but this photo does not seem to be of this year’s Australian summer.
Found via google search for “Australia snow”, right at the top of the page
