LIVE at 1PM ET – Climate, Energy, and The Midterm Blue Wave, The Climate Realism Show

The Republican Party got a good old-fashioned butt-whuppin’ in the midterm elections on Tuesday as Democrats swept both houses of Congress making Donald Trump the lamest of lame duck presidents. The Democratic “blue wave” was so strong, they took statewide offices in places once considered safely “red,” such as Texas. Will this remarkable political turn just two years after a similar “red wave” thwart the progress climate realists have made with sensible, science-based policy in Trump’s second term?

Climate change wasn’t a big topic of discussion on the campaign trail, but taking “climate action” is always on top of mind for a now-ascendent Democratic Party. On Episode #224 of The Climate Realism Show, we will also cover some of the Crazy Climate News of the Week, including a plan to put a giant umbrella in space to give shade to a warming earth, a claim that climate change is leaving domestic violence victims more vulnerable, and the notion that climate change caused by humans using fossil fuels is threatening the American Dream.

Join The Heartland Institute’s Anthony Watts, Sterling Burnett, Linnea Lueken, Jim Lakely and “The Carbon King,” Jason Isaac, CEO of the American Energy Institute. We bring you another weekly 90-minute dose of fun and spirited discussion on Friday, November 6 at 1 p.m. ET on YouTube, Rumble, X, and Facebook. Much of the Green New Deal was buried in the disaster that was deliberately mislabeled as the Inflation Reduction Act. Expect the rest of GND to rammed through among the first orders of business for the new Congress.

At least there might be a two-year reprieve. Trump can still veto any democrat legislation and I don’t think, even with the blue wave, they have a 2/3 majority in either the house or the senate to override a veto. But they’re not through counting so you never know…

I think Trump will be veto proof- and let’s not assume he’s an extremely lame duck. He has a long history of comebacks. He may yet be able to inspire his supporters to keep up the fight against the worst the Dems can offer us. I doubt they’ll be so stupid to open the borders again- and I doubt they’ll do anything to drive up ff prices as they know that was a major factor in this big loss. Of course in some states like CA, MA, CT, WA, things will continue to get worse- especially cost of living. I suspect this wipeout is a temporary thing and the bounce back will be faster than the MSM can imagine- as they can’t imagine it at all. So we need to start imaging the comeback and not wallow in the apparent disaster.

Joseph – you are assuming rational behavior on the part of the Dems. There are no facts in evidence.
Also, the impeachments (Trump, Hegseth, …) will start, and tie up the Executive Branch.

But we can hope.

The Dems will have the majority of both houses BUT will not have a supermajority in either so any unrealistic bill they attempt to pass isn’t VETO proof.

From the above article:
“. . . as Democrats swept both houses of Congress making Donald Trump the lamest of lame duck presidents.”

Just so. But Trump was a lame President even before the mid-term elections.

Say hello to the beginning of the end of the grossly mis-named MAGA movement . . . and good riddance! It likely will take the US the next 10 or more years to recover from:
— Trump riding roughshod over the US Constitution via his EOs,
— Trump’s weaponization of the DoJ against his “enemies”,
— Trump’s imposition of trade tariffs on many of the US’ favorite nations/allies,
— Trump ingratiating himself to Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, and Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud,
— Trump’s large scale alienation of many NATO partners,
— Trump’s war (not declared by Congress) on Iran,
— Trump’s approved massive Federal budget deficits of $1.8 trillion for FY2025 and an estimated $2.0 trillion for FY2026,
— Trump’s in-your-face election interference by offering a monetary bribe of $5,000 to every adult US citizen if the Republican Party retained control of both houses of Congress following the mid-term elections; with an estimated cost of $1 trillion to $1.22 trillion to cover 240 million to 250 million adult citizens it is certain that Trump could not have paid out this money himself (Ref: 18 U.S.C. § 598 prohibits the use of congressional appropriations “for the purpose of interfering with, restraining, or coercing” any person in the exercise of the right to vote),
— Trump’s ostentatious gilding of the Oval Office and overall White House.
— Trump’s after-the-fact explanation that the ostentatious, gilded and crystal chandelier-ed new grand ballroom on the White House grounds was needed for his “security”.

I could go on and on, but need I?

Unlike Biden’s unrealized bribes like Student Loan Forgiveness in the 2022 Mid Terms…oh how fast the idiotocrats forget their own past. Or the ultimate Bribe Scheme USAID which paid billions to questionable “Charities” just to have the money funneled into Democrat re-election coffers through direct donations from those very same charities receiving the US Aid. Unlike Biden, if Republicans Had won the day Trump WOULD HAVE upheld his word.
You can ALWAYS trust a democrat to do exactly the opposite of what they promise…just to get your vote!
