Doctors have been told to stop prescribing blue asthma inhalers used by millions of patients under NHS guidance that says the devices cause climate change
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/blue-inhaler-carbon-footprint-asthma-guidelines-b2654542.html
Yup! Everything CAUSES CC and also CC causes everything! A vicious circle! Maybe that is postmodernism.
Sounds like they are desperate to decrease the population of the UK !!
On GB NEWS last year, Stanley Johnson (Boris’ father), stated he’d like to see the UK population reduced to 15 million, better still 10.
Bet he support rampant immigration too. !
Well, his own son, is trying to start a population explosion.
crazy!
See my post below
Just got this from Scottish Power, basically admitting that renewables cannot supply the full amount of electricity which is demanded:
As if Saturday and Sunday aren’t already the best days of the week, we’re launching our new Power Saver service2, where you can get half-price electricity1 every weekend between 11am and 4pm.
So, make the most of it – sign up online today and get ready to start saving.
By moving some of your electricity use to these times, you’ll also be doing your bit to balance demand on the grid and make the most of renewable energy.
Mugged by reality.
Here in central Arizona (desert) our electric corporation (SRP) offers “time of day” plans. Ours is 3-6pm Mon through Friday excepting holidays (like today! Happy Thanksgiving to all!) in which you pay ~ $0.32/ KWh . All other times it is ~ $0.09/KWh.
So, in the summer we program our thermostat to pre-cool the house to 74 degrees F before 3pm then it turns off till 6pm. When it gets really hot (say, 115-120 F) the west side of the house can get to 82 F by 6pm. Quite tolerable. And this year our highest monthly summer electric bill was ~ $250 for a ~2300sq ft home. SRP estimates we “save” several hundred dollars per year using the 3-6 plan.
In our “winter” it never really gets very cold so we did not install an electric heating element in our now 7 yr old heat pump. Winter months bill average in the $40-70/mo.
As a side note, internet calculators hawking residential solar panels show the pay-back time for roof-top installations are not economic for us.
Back at you. I give major thanks for WUWT. Climate realism is winning in large part due to your efforts. The fight is not over, but with gladiators like you guys, we will be victorious.
+1. It’s humbling to engage in interactions with others from diverse and accomplished backgrounds. I hope this website continues for a long time.
Next time your children complain about global warming, tell them they have to give up their smart phones.

How your iPhone helped fuel devastating hurricanes that killed more than 100 Americans this year
Your iPhone may have contributed to the deadly hurricanes that battered the US this year, experts reveal.
Researchers have found that smartphones generate 580 million tons of carbon dioxide annually, nearly 100 million more tons than the global aviation industry.
These emissions warm Earth’s oceans, fostering conditions for storms such as Hurricane Milton, a Category 3 storm that struck Florida in October.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-14133397/How-iPhone-helped-fuel-hurricanes-killed-Americans-year.html
Australian kids no longer need smart phones. They have been banned from social media.
It would be smart for all social media companies to withdraw from Australia because every breach of the ban could land them with a $50M fine.
I saw this reported on the news this morning.
The new law penalizes the company but not the parents or the kids.
So, how do they verify the age of the participants? I’m betting that some clever 15-year-old is going to figure out how to get around the restrictions, and then he’s going to tell all his friends.
Sounds like a losing proposition to me.
Oh, heck- and here I just got a top of the line I-Phone 16 Pro Max, mostly for the great camera- but now I’ll be responsible for the planet burning and oceans boiling!
Take consolation, that at least you’ll have a photographic record of our demise.
So if I put my iPhone in a bottle will the bottle fill up with CO2?
More CO2 ppm is good for fauna and flora
CO2 ppm is near its lowest level in 600 million years
Cell phones cause Climate Change?
I thought they caused brain cancer?
(At least that was the old claim.)

I hope it holds its breath long enough to die.
Harold the Organic Chemist Says:
ATTN: Everyone
RE: CO2 Did Not Cause Warming Of Desert Air.
Shown in the graphic (See below) are plots of temperatures at the Furnace Creek Weather Station in Death Valley from 1922 to 2001. In 1922 the concentration of CO2 was 303 ppmv in dry air (0.839 g of CO2/cu. m.), and by 2001, it has increased to 371 ppmv (0.729g of CO2/cu. m. of air), but there was no corresponding increase in the dry air temperature at this arid desert site. Therefore, it is concluded that CO2 does not cause warming of air, and by extension any “global warming”. The reason there was no warming is quite simple: There is too little CO2 in the air.
The empirical temperature data from this remote desert field site also exposes that the claim by the IPCC since 1988 that CO2 is the cause of the recent “global warming” is a fabrication and a deliberate lie. The purpose of his lie is to provide the UN the justification
for the distribution of funds, via the UNFCCC and the UN COP, from the rich donor countries to poor countries to help them cope with “global warming” and “climate change”. We finally have learned from the recent COP29 conference what all this rhetoric about greenhouse emissions, global warming, and climate change was really all about: the distribution of wealth from the rich to the poor. The poor countries were clamoring for trillions of dollars!
President-elect Donald Trump will put end this green deal scam.
I forgot to add the graphic of the Death Valley temperature plots. It was obtained from the late John Daly’s website: “Still Waiting for Greenhouse” available at: http://www.John-Daly.com.
NB: At the MLO the concentration of CO2 is presently 422 ppmv in dry air. One cubic meter this air has a mere 0.839 g of CO2 and has a mass of 1.29 kg. This small amount of CO2 can heat up such a large mass of air by only a very small amount if at all.
“the claim by the IPCC since 1988 that CO2 is the cause of the recent “global warming” is a fabrication and a deliberate lie.” Harold
Save that baloney for the new WUWT Dumb Thread
And you are lying about Death Valley too:
Since the 1920s, the temperature trend in Death Valley shows a significant increase, with the hottest summers on record occurring in recent decades, indicating a clear warming trend likely linked to climate change; this is evidenced by multiple record-breaking high temperatures, including a recent reading of 130 degrees Fahrenheit, considered one of the highest reliably measured temperatures on Earth.
RG again goes the blustering insult route instead of producing evidence.
Want to FAIL again??
1… Please provide empirical scientific evidence of warming by atmospheric CO2.
2… Please show the evidence of CO2 warming in the UAH atmospheric data.
3… Please state the exact amount of CO2 warming in the last 45 year, giving measured scientific evidence for your answer.
Since you always go on about “evidence”…. failure to produce evidence will show that you agree that CO2 does not cause any measurable warming, and that you are just blustering for your ego’s sake.
John Daly’s graphic shows constant average annual temperature from 1922 to 2001. If you have temperature data to support your claim of a significant increase in annual temperatures after that date, then post it here.
I stand by what I posted: The empirical temperature data up to 2001 falsifies the hypothesis that CO2 cause warming of air. Any warming in Death Valley after 2001 is due to other causes. There is very little CO2 in the air.
I live in Burnaby, BC. The carbon tax is CDN $80 per ton of CO2 equivalent. This tax has caused a significant in the cost of food and it has to go.
“If you have temperature data to support your claim of a significant increase in annual temperatures after that date, then post it here.”
I’ll do it for him …..

So apart from the strong El Ninos in 2016 and 2023, no warmer than around the 1930s.
Even with the 2023 El Nino, no warmer than 1931.
Thanks dopey !! Hope your feet are tasty. !
You can actually see the CO2 cooling trend from the 1930s to the 1980s. 😉
Interesting that Banton takes a construction from stations anywhere BUT Death Valley, and still shows a cooling trend from 1930s to 1990ish.
Hilarious.
Thanks Mr. Banton, you demonstrated that CO2 has no overall effect. The temperature drop from 1931 of 122 F down to 1977 of 106 F appears to be matched by the increase from 1977 to 2023 of 122 F.
i won’t belabor the obvious in this, but no overall effect seems about right.
Thank you. The plot shows a slight decrease in annual average temperatures from1932 to 2001, then a slight increase until 2022. However, the data is not from Furnace Creek and plot doesn’t look like JD’s plots.
Recently, I saw on the TV that Death Valley has become a very popular place for tourists. Maybe they might influence temperature near the weather stations.
“WUWT Dumb Thread”
With you as the lead Author !!
“Likely linked to climate change”. Note the uncertainty. Not proof.
My datasets concerning Death Valley.

The data for the first graph was while John Daly was still alive. If you compare it to John’s Death Valley plot, you will see they are the same. Notice the three cold years. The third one was during a strong El Nino (which is interesting).
A few years later, I captured the latest data (the second graph), and I noticed it looked different. Where are the three cold years?
The third graph compares the two datasets. It’s very subtle, but the trend-line of the second graph is slightly steeper than the trend-line of the first graph. Notice the earlier temperatures are slightly lower, and the later temperatures are slightly higher. When you are dealing with climate crazies who wring their hands over a hundredth of a degree increase, the change is significant.
What is the database for the temperature plots? Who makes these “adjustment”, and why do they do this?
Can I still make claim that CO2 does not cause warming of air? At JD’s site, you should check out Alice Springs in Oz, where temperature measurement began in 1879.
RE: Climate Science Lie
Use Google to obtain the essay: “Climate Change Reexamined” by
Joel M. Kauffman. The essay is 26 pages and can be down loaded for free.
Shown in Fig. 7 is the IR absorption spectrum of Philadelphia inner city air
(See below) from 400 to 4,000 wavenumbers. Integration of the spectrum
determined that H2O absorbed 92% of the IR light and CO2 only 8%.
Since the air sample was inner city air, it is likely that the concentration of
CO2 was higher than that at remote site such as the countryside.
In 1999, the concentration of CO2 in dry air was ca. 370 ppmv. One cubic meter of this air had 0.727 g of CO2. For air at 28 deg. C and with a RH of 76%, the concentration of H2O was 29,549 ppmv. To the first approximation, the amount of the greenhouse effect (GHE) due H20 is:
GHE for H20 = 29,549 ppmv/29,549 + 370 ppmv = 0.99 or 99%
H2O is by far the major greenhouse gas and CO2 is a minor greenhouse gas. Now we have to convince the green climate wackos that we do not have to worry about CO2.
Here is Fig 7. It was prepared by the Australian sherro01
“What is the database for the temperature plots? Who makes these “adjustment”, and why do they do this?”
It’s GISS, of course. Some knucklehead in GISS makes the “adjustments.” As to why–because they want to.
“Now we have to convince the green climate wackos that we do not have to worry about CO2.”
I don’t think that’s possible. It’s enough to convince the non-wackos.
Here is another idea I have for analyzing temperature data from a remote weather station to check for any warming by CO2. Plots of Tmax and Tmin are made for Jun. 20 and Dec. 21. Plots of annual average show a fair amount of yearly variation. By choosing just one day for the sample analysis, hopefully, there would be less variation.
Do think you could do this for the Death Valley temperature data? if CO2 cause any warming, it would most likely effect Tmin.
Other remote weather stations are lighthouses. There are lots of these whose temperature records start before 1900.
Averaging intensive properties like temperature is a fool’s errand.
As is thinking that temperature alone, without including the effects of humidity, is meaningful.
The Vancouver city council banned the use of natural gas for water and space heating in all new homes and commercial buildings in 2022 to meet the city’s “climate goals”. This is crazy. BC has enormous supplies of inexpensive of natural gas. Fortunately in BC, 97% of the electricity is supplied by hydro dams. A kWh of electricity costs only 11 cents.
Look what this CO2 nonsense has done to the economies of the UK and Germany. In California, Gov. Gavin N. wants to phase out all ice cars and trucks by 2035. Presumably firetrucks with Diesel engines get a free pass against phase out.
This CO2 craziness can not go on too much longer.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I hope that you’re enjoying a net-zero beyond turkey with your soylent yams. Of course I’m joking, I hope you have the aroma of a busy kitchen filling your neighborhood. I’m about to eat some deep fried turkey, myself. 😋
Happy thanksgiving you bunch of deniers!
Just discovered the source of global warming. Cosmic rays have been on the uptick since the mid 1800s, and the massive energy increase is boiling us alive:
https://phys.org/news/2024-11-solution-cosmic-ray-muon-puzzle.html
story tip
My BS meter went into overdrive on that one, and I wouldn’t even recognise a quark if I met one. I suggest that should look at clouds. Even if there aren’t grants for that.
Weren’t they on Deep Space Nine? 🙂
I agree, completely. That read like a transcript of a Harris word salad where random particle names were substituted for every noun.
I wonder how anyone could tell what the cosmic ray levels were in the mid 1800s?
They deduce cosmic ray levels from cosmogenic radionuclides. Example: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-021-27891-4
Read it…only three events….”…no significance”….”assumed a constant 650..”. it’s conjecture from scientific instrument readings, not scientific instruments proving a hypothesis.
Hey, I didn’t say anything about proving a hypothesis, just giving an example. There may well be better methods, but I’m not aware of them. If you know of any, I’m listening.
woah! That’s, like, totally cosmic dude!

“I would like there to be another General Election.
I believe the current Labour Government have gone back on the promises they laid out in the lead up to the last election.”
Not too late for British citizens to sign.
I signed it a few days ago and was hoping it would get up over 10 million (the number of people who voted for this clown show). The record is over 6 million (I think it was remoaners on Brexit).
To be debated 6th Jan so voting will be closed early and not run for the full 6 months. Uni party closing down debate yet again.
I signed not in any anticipation of them doing anything. But as a protest at the outright lies they’d told in everything they’d said. Gradually become the norm in UK politics telling a pack of lies to get into power.
The last major petition on the government website was started by someone who thought the result would be remain and wanted a rerun because of the wording on the referendum. Hijacked by the other side because it wasn’t precise. Just shows you how careful you must be.
This year the turkey is Kamaliar Harris
Kamala is gearing up for her political comback.
Or so she thinks.
I don’t think there is any coming back from the awful performance she gave as a candidate.
I can’t think of a worse candidate on the Democrat side. She is almost incoherent most of the time. She is not an inspirational character.
No, we will get a better liar from the Democrats next time. There are a lot of them out there. Kamala is a liar, but not a good liar. She stumbles when telling her lies.
Kamala is toast. She couldn’t be a host on The View, she’s so bad.
I wouldn’t put money on that when the decision makers, for who the host is, are more concerned about virtue signaling than rational thought.
Kamala has several leftwing billionaires who have been backing her, but there’s not much they can do to improve Kamala’s inability to think on her feet, or vocalize a coherent thought.
This story is from 2018 LINK by Brett Montgomery with no links to anyone. So it looks like Monty made the whole thing up by himself and nobody else. Story Tip—Klyuchevskaya Volcano Exploded details are sparse but
this might be similar to the eruption of the Shiveluch Volcano on 12/22/2020
which disrupted the polar vortex sending it south to Texas causing the Texas freeze
of 2021.

Volcanic Plume Billows From Klyuchevskoy
That’s a compelling source; I’ll buy that.
I stand corrected, I just assumed it was recent. A quick google
shows the Shiveluch has recently erupted and it sent ash 15km into
the sky. The polar vortex according to AER is somewhat stretched
and active. That will likely bring cold air into the country early December.
Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone.
I was going to say I’m thankful that Joe Biden promised a peaceful transition of power, but then the horrible realization dawned on me that everything that Biden promises is the opposite of what he does.
Still seven weeks and three days until the Restoration. Will we live to see the day? I want to be an optimist that Putin doesn’t want to see civilization devastated. But there’s not much evidence that Biden’s puppet masters give a damn about human life. Have they stolen enough from the Ukrainian money-laundering scheme to just go away quietly?
Every left-winger should have their eyes held open and be forced to watch this on repeat until it sinks in.

Please, next time, say what is there. We waste time by going to something already viewed. And it creates CO2 to do so. Now I must go put more wood in my stove. Thanks. 🤠
🍗Thanks to Charles and all the others creating posts, moderating, and supporting WUWT. Oh, and Mr. Watts especially.
{reading and one post, since 2008}
Always interesting reading on WUWT. I’ve developed an effective filtering technique! I basically skim over most of the comments with positive scores (barring a few notable exceptions) and read in more depth the comments with negative scores. My reasoning is simple. This is a skeptical site on AGW. Therefore, anyone who goes against the flow is clearly not at all intimidated by the dominant view and therefore tends to provide more in the way of evidence to support their stance. Most (but certainly not all) comments from the skeptical camp tend express an opinion without any attempt to support it with evidence or reasoning.
For the most part then, comments are nothing more than a tribal style echo chamber, as others have eloquently described it. Most articles are presented in such a way as to misrepresent the data, so it’s very useful to read those comments that set the record straight, as far as that is possible. There are of course some articles that are genuinely interesting and thought provoking. Likewise a minority of genuinely knowledgeable contributers in the skeptical camp do provide food for thought. I know however, that despite this acknowledgement, this comment itself will likely receive a negative score from those of tribal instinct. Of course, this will only serve to confirm the phenomenon 😉.
It’s troubling that Steve Mcintyre has been reposting obvious pro-hamas nonsense on X. I have no idea what he could be thinking.
US Senator Casey vs McCormack in PA
.
“Adjudicated” ballots likely were counted the same way in the Casey/McCormack election, until the PA Supreme Court told the Democrat-staffed counting centers to properly count the ballot and envelopes.
The counting centers will count, count, count, until Senator Casey is re-elected in PA.
However, in this case, the State Supreme Court ordered counting centers to examine all envelopes defects. See above list
The State Supreme Court told Democrat-staffed counting centers to subtract the rejected-envelope total from the ballot-count total.
On that basis, Casey did not have a chance, and he quickly conceded.

Three Democrats “Defeated” Three Incumbent Republicans Three Weeks after Election
.
A “late surge” in votes has pushed a California Democrat into the lead in a US Congressional race, setting the party up to take three House seats away from sitting Republicans during an election year, that otherwise has roundly rejected the liberal cause.
.
Democratic candidate Adam Gray pulled ahead of incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. John Duarte by 105 votes in a Tuesday evening vote tally for the 13th Congressional District, located in California’s Central Valley.
Gray trailed Duarte in the three weeks of ballot drops since Election Day.
.
Gray is the third Democratic challenger to surpass a House Republican incumbent since Election Day.
George Whitesides flipped a GOP seat after he beat Rep. Mike Garcia in the 27th Congressional District, located in northern Los Angeles County.
In Orange County, Democrat candidate Derek Tran has declared victory after taking the lead over Rep. Michelle Steel in the 45th Congressional District one day before Thanksgiving.
