400,000 Britons sign petition demanding another General Election

The threshold for MPs to debate a petition – 100,000 signatures – was passed within just four hours, with more than 80,000 signing up in the last hour alone.

the petition reads: “I would like there to be another General Election.
“I believe the current Labour Government have gone back on the promises they laid out in the lead up to the last election.”

Now 520,000 at 11.06 am UK time. Increasing like the sea level in the minds of warmista’s 😉

It will be ignored but the irony is Starmer was the one campaigning for a second Brexit vote as he said the voters did not know what they were voting for.

They are not “political parties” any more than Communist Party of Soviet Union was a “political party” (and in the latter case it’s downright oxymoronic). The “party” format with its trappings is just an atavism, retained only for mimicry in these cases. Zinovyev introduced the term “pseudoparty” for this reason.

The most that we here in Reform can hope for is a vote of no confidence in the government. This petition really is just something to make Labour MP’s with a small majority get a bit twitchy.
2,216,279 so far today and considering only 10 million voted for Labour at the last election I think it says something about the strength of feeling in the country.

From the Telegraph. More proof, did you need it, that the UK intelligensia have gone stark raving mad. And Scotland is probably worse than anywhere in the UK. Add this to the recording of so called non-criminal hate events by the police, which basically means expressing a politically incorrect opinion, or even hanging out your laundry in the wrong way….

Five judges, led by Lord Reed, will hear two days of arguments next Tuesday and Wednesday over whether guidance issued by the Scottish Government about the meaning of the word “woman” in the Equality Act is lawful.

The guidance states that a trans person with a full Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC) that confers upon them the acquired gender of female is a woman.
However, FWS has argued it is unlawful as the definition of woman in the Equality Act is tied to biological sex.

[…..]

FWS initially went to court to challenge SNP ministers over a new law designed to increase the number of women on public boards. This stated that anyone “living as a woman” would be eligible.

The Court of Session in Edinburgh found the Scottish Government had gone beyond its powers by legislating that transgender women should count as women.

This forced the publication of new statutory guidelines which stated that transgender women should still be counted as female, so long as they held a GRC.

FWS launched a new legal challenge, arguing that the Scottish Government had overstepped its powers by effectively redefining the meaning of female.

But judge Lady Haldane ruled the definition of sex was “not limited to biological or birth sex” in December 2022. An appeal was rejected by the Inner House of the Court of Session, prompting FWS to go to the UK Supreme Court.

Dr Michael Foran, a public law lecturer at Glasgow University, said the Scottish Government submission to the court noted that the Equality Act protections from “pregnancy discrimination are afforded only to women”.

However, he said that SNP ministers argued that “all of these references to a woman who is pregnant are capable of being interpreted to apply to ‘pregnant men’.”
In an analysis of the submission, he said: “The Scottish Government’s argument is that the drafters of the Equality Act 2010, when they used the term ‘pregnant woman’ made the kind of embarrassing drafting error not seen in the UK since the 1860’s. Needless to say, this is a bold, perhaps even brave, claim to make.”

Dr Foran said FWS was arguing that female-only groups being forced to admit male-bodied trans people with GRCs was “absurd, unworkable, and a violation of the human rights of women and lesbians”.

However, he said the Scottish Government’s submission argued that “this is what Parliament intended to do” when it passed the Gender Recognition Act and the Equality Act.
A Scottish Government spokesman said: “We cannot comment on a live legal case.”

Trump did not request “dirt on Biden.” He clearly stated that there were several stories circulating about Biden and Shokin and wanted to find out which was true.

The President has at his discretion the right to determine timing of spending a funding allocation. The allocation was passed without stipulating a date. DJT held it up because he wanted more information on what it was to be used for. The funding was executed (a government word for spent) within the fiscal year so there is nothing there.

All of this was published.

Furthermore, the so called whistler blower report was co-written by a Schiff aide. It has been determined to be completely false.

It was a lie that was easily proven since the actual recording of the conversation was available and differed markedly from the transcript Lying Svchiff read.

Naturally, Schiff’s lying transcript portrayed Trump in the worst light possible, which was the purpose of the lie.

Funny that impeachment.
The initial investigation was performed by the Intelligence committee under Schiff. Normal procedure is for the Judicial committee to review and write the Articles of Impeachment. The Judicial committee wanted 1 week to review and have follow up interviews. Pelosi banned that and commanded the Articles be written immediately. Schiff wrote the Articles. All based on a whistleblower report written by a Schiff aide.
Prior to the 2016 election, Pelosi said (and Google has disappeared this) that if Trump were elected she would get him impeached.
All the follow on reports over the past several years has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that the whole thing was bogus and orchestrated by Pelosi and her minions.

“knew” name?

I know this is a waste of time on a silly troll.

Back in the mid-70’s when I was a T-28 flight instructor our training squadron had two accidents. Both planes were dual flights (instructor and a student), both planes went into the trees and caught fire, and all pilots survived with minor burns.

I was not on the accident boards, but I was attached to the squadron safety department and would learn of various fact findings. I also read both accident reports when they were released. I can say that the news media made up half of what they were reporting.

That was then and about 50% of the news was made-up crap on things I knew about. Imagine now when almost nothing the media reports is true or based on facts. Poor Simon thinks he/she/it is providing evidence from news articles when he/she/it is actually quoting made-up nonsense and propaganda.

Western Oregon will finish November at about double normal rainfall, with flood adversaries in many locations. But that doesn’t move the “Drought Index”, except for “slight lessening of dry conditions”? Why? Off we go to http://www.oregon.gov, where it says “Meteorological drought traditionally has been defined by a lack of precipitation, but it is better defined as evaporative demand…”. This is a weaponization of the word “drought”, led by NOAA, who introduced the “Evaporative Demand Drought Index Forecast”, an index that had some merit (assessing atmospheric current evaporation capacity), but has been converted into a CAGW tool. Guess what? Because we are in a run-away burning hell on earth regime the water will all evaporate (except for seawater, which somehow will rise?). Trump maybe can fix this.

Model fatigue is understandable, as readers here at WUWT know all too well that the large-grid, discrete-layer, step-iterated, parameter-tuned global climate models have no diagnostic or predictive power to simulate the climate system response to incremental CO2, CH4, N2O, etc.

But when a general circulation model provides good short-term forecasts, we can understand how it can be a useful representation of the bulk mass and energy flows we experience as weather. And if it is continuously updated with measured values of wind speed, barometric pressure, temperature, and relative humidity from radiosondes, aircraft, ground stations, etc., we can appreciate its value as a valid representation of the real atmosphere’s operation. This is called a reanalysis model.

I like the ERA5 reanalysis model because it offers a wide range of hourly values for convenient user selection and download. Sure, for any grid cell at any particular point in time, there would be considerable uncertainty in the values. But overall, the simulation is of the same quality as a short-term weather forecast. Quite good.

So what? The news over the last couple of years has promoted the “record” global average temperatures, often referring to the ERA5 values. But for proper context, one can look for themselves at this web page maintained by the University of Maine, which uses the 2-meter air temperature values. You can select from World, NH, SH, Tropics, Arctic, and Antarctic zones. Right now, which zone is driving the global average for T2m back down from its higher anomalies last year? The tropics. Take a look.

Those graphics are full of interesting observations, aren’t they? There is one thing I would disagree with in your post. It isn’t the tropics leading the way, but rather whatever heat transport mechanisms are currently operating in the tropics — the tropics, themselves, are not a cause. It’s nitpicking, I know, but at any rate it provides a segue into something that I have been pondering for he past six months, which is: How much excess heat transport capacity does the surface/atmosphere possess, and in what way might it be harnessed as radiative transport becomes slightly less effecctive with increased CO2 and water vapor? I noticed when looking into the situation at Albuquerque for the brief addendum, that there appeared to be a vast potential for increased convective tranport that lay untapped on a hot, sunny summer day.

It’s another potential negative feedback and one that the climate models are possibly overlooking or getting wrong numerically because of scale-size.

Reply to  Kevin Kilty

It isn’t the tropics leading the way, but rather whatever heat transport mechanisms are currently operating in the tropics…” Good point. However, what I meant was simply the numerical power of the switch in the tropics from 2023 to 2024 to influence the global average anomaly. In the tropics, the T2m anomaly was about 0.9C higher in 2024 than 2023 early in the year. Recently 2024 is about 0.4C lower than 2023. A flip-flop of about 1.3C.

Reply to  David Dibbell

If you notice there is a pronounced asymmetry between the hemispheres that shows up well in the tropics plot. The Earth is substantially warmer as the sun passes south to north during the boreal spring than it is during the austral spring going the other way. This asymmetry is 0.6 to 0.7C on average. The year 2023 was an exception where the asymmetry was a mere 0.2 to 0.3C. Thus 2023 ended unusually warm giving 2024 a head start, if you will. These more nearly symmetric years occur now and then it seems — 2019 was one. I haven’t looked carefully to see what this might be related to — La Nina maybe.

I suppose I should add that the underlying asymmetry itself is probably related to perihelion.

The Home-Based Battery Storage, a Fantasy of Non-Technical Woke Folks

Authored by Jonathan Lesser via RealClearEnergy,
.
According to a recent article published in The Conversation, installing millions of storage batteries distributed through the grid — in homes, businesses, and local communities – coupled with wind and solar generation, can avoid investments in new transmission infrastructure.
.
But unless installing those batteries is accompanied by physically disconnecting from the grid, or consumers are willing to forgo reliable electricity, this claim is yet another example of electricity “magical thinking.”

Even 100 hours of average demand in storage is inadequate for reliable service but let’s say 125 kWhr as an example for a typical home. At $600 per kWhr battery installation at present prices… well… a person can incur a lifetime of utility supplied electricity charges in just the first cost of batteries.

Electricity magical thinking? Yes. More like extreme innumeracy, though.

U.N. Reaches $300 Billion Climate Financing Deal as Trump Looms

U.S. and other wealthy countries agree to triple their annual climate financing by 2035, but incoming administration is expected to repudiate deal

https://www.wsj.com/world/u-n-reaches-300-billion-climate-financing-deal-as-trump-waits-in-the-wings-656ed18e?mod=hp_lead_pos11

BAKU, Azerbaijan—The U.S., Europe and a handful of other rich countries agreed to triple the financing they provide for climate-change projects in the developing world to at least $300 billion a year by 2035, signaling their commitment to the Paris climate accord despite a looming obstacle: the incoming presidency of Donald Trump.

The Trump campaign pledged to pull the U.S. out of the Paris agreement, and his administration, backed by the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and Senate, is likely to cut U.S. climate financing over the next few years, fueling doubts about America’s ability to fulfill the Baku agreement, at least in the near term. That puts pressure on Europe to help fill the hole left by the U.S. at a time when government budgets on the continent are squeezed by spending to arm Ukraine and rebuild their militaries against the threat from Russia.

Wealthier members of the developing-country bloc—China, the oil-rich Persian Gulf states and a handful of others—agreed to limited steps that could help pick up the slack. The final agreement notes the “voluntary intention” by developing countries to allow their share of climate financing provided by the World Bank and other multilateral development banks of which they are shareholders to count toward the new financing goal.

Developing countries didn’t object to the agreement before it was adopted in the cavernous conference center in Baku, but expressed outrage immediately afterward. They were looking for an annual financing goal in excess of $1 trillion a year by 2030.

A member of India’s delegation said that Mukhtar Babayev, the Azerbaijani official presiding over the conference, ignored her request to make a statement before gaveling the debate closed.

“We are disappointed with the outcome, which clearly brings out the unwillingness of developed-country parties to live up to their responsibilities,” said the Indian delegate, Chandni Raina. “India does not accept the goal proposal in its present form.… The goal is too little, it is too distant. It is 2035, too far gone.”

Higher-income countries in the developing bloc rebuffed demands from Western countries to commit to providing climate funds to poorer countries. That would have blurred the categories of developed and developing set out in the first United Nations climate treaty of 1992, a divide that Western nations say no longer makes sense. That treaty and the Paris agreement say that only developed countries are required to provide climate finance.

In theory, higher-income developing countries are entitled to receive such funds under the U.N. climate treaties, but in practice the countries have increasingly been investing in green-energy projects in other developing countries. China has provided some $25 billion in climate financing to poorer countries since 2016, Chinese officials said.

The world is facing growing costs from extreme weather that scientists have linked to the effects of climate change. This year is likely to be the warmest on record. It is also likely to be the first, according to European Union climate scientists, that averaged 1.5 degrees Celsius over preindustrial-era temperatures, a key threshold set out in the Paris accord. Temperatures have been so high that scientists have been at a loss to explain them, even accounting for the buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

The agreement in Baku will only cover a fraction of the cost for poorer countries as they shift to clean energy. Photo: aziz karimov/Reuters

Thus as the opportunities for profit via Orange Revolution State dry up, the general thrust decisively turns away from it. A Smaller Federal Government for the US
https://www.windtaskforce.org/profiles/blogs/a-program-for-a-greater-america
.
The American people would be better off, because the federal government would be smaller, the Deep State would be smaller, and spending would be at least $200 billion less each year.
.
The federal government must not be allowed to engage in any activities not specified in the U.S. Constitution.
That means no NPR, no US Dept of Education, no US Endowment for the Arts, no US Radio Free Europe (all are mostly staffed by Democrats), and many other similar activities.
.
The US Dept of Education, budget $240 BILLION in 2024, was started in 1980, with the US ranking 4th in education. After 44 years, the US ranks 24th. Clearly, that experiment has failed bigtime.
It needs to be ended, with all education activities conducted by the Sovereign States, as reiterated in the US Constitution and associated documents.
.
The federal government would be much smaller, and much more efficient, and spend much less money, with help of RFK, jr., Elon Musk, Ramaswamy, etc.
.
Eliminate all subsidies, grants and tax preferences to all industries.
End the highly subsidized wind, solar, battery, heat pump, EV, etc., follies
These subsidies, etc., promote dysfunctional and expensive systems everywhere they are applied
They enlarge the federal government with bureaucrats and onerous rules and regulations.
.
Drill, baby drill, and
Build, on a fast track, at least 100 standardized nuclear plants, each with 2 or more 1,000 MW units
Conserve, not export, our precious fossil fuels to produce the tens of thousands of products that cannot be produced by hydro, nuclear, wind and solar.
The export of US fossil fuels is advocated by the Deep State to increase their geo-political war-mongering, to enable the US military/industrial/intelligence complex to rule the world.
.
Bring 50,000 soldiers from Europe to the US to help build the north and south wall, and
Station them on the narrow strip of US land OUTSIDE of the completed walls, with tear gas, tasers, etc., so no one, without proper documents, can cross our borders.
.
That will free up the US border guard, etc., to collect millions of recent arrivals, and
Deport millions of recent arrivals, including misfits/criminals, each year for the next 4 years, to completely offset the Biden/Harris scheme to import illegals into swing states to permanently rig elections.
Many heretofore great American communities have suffered from the great influxes of misfit illegals, illegally imposed upon them by the Biden/Harris cabal.

moved out of state person signature
