AXIOS: Harris campaign dodges over EV mandate walkback – ‘Axios asked Harris campaign to clarify her position’ but the ‘Harris’ campaign ultimately declined to comment

From Climate Depot

By Marc Morano

https://www.axios.com/2024/09/04/kamala-harris-campaign-ev-mandate

By Alex Thompson, & Ben Geman

Vice President Kamala Harris‘ campaign won’t say whether she supports requiring automakers to build only electric or hydrogen vehicles by 2035 — a position she took during her 2020 campaign for president.

Why it matters: Since taking over President Biden’s campaign in July, Harris has been light on policy details.

Driving the news: Harris’ campaign has sent contradictory signals about her position on a mandate for automakers — a key issue in pivotal Midwestern states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, where many autoworkers are based.

  • In a lengthy “fact-check” email last week that covered several issues, a campaign spokesperson included a line saying that Harris “does not support an electric vehicle mandate” — suggesting she changed her previous position, without elaborating.
  • On Aug. 28 Axios asked the Harris campaign to clarify her position, and whether she would sign or veto a bill she co-sponsored in 2019 that included such a mandate for manufacturers.
  • On Tuesday afternoon, Harris’ campaign ultimately declined to comment.

The Kammunist was unable to komment?

“”‘Harris’ campaign ultimately declined to comment””

Or more accurately, wouldn’t...

I can only surmise that the EV mandates etc in the US are not that dissimilar to ours in Milibandland.

“”No invention has done more to liberate society than the mass-produced car. It has become as democratised as such a complex piece of machinery can be. Today, just £1,000 gets you a Vauxhall Corsa from the early 2010s. While it won’t be fast, exciting or luxurious, it will get you as far as your petrol money and dreams will take you. Or, more likely, to work and back.
Electric cars upend much of this, bringing greater expense and requiring a host of well-documented sacrifices from drivers. Unsurprisingly, most are unwilling to make the switch. This issue has become so pronounced that manufacturers are now restricting sales of petrol and diesel models to avoid the gargantuan government fines (£15,000 per car over quota) that will be imposed on brands if they don’t shift enough EVs.

All this pro-EV legislation has been drawn up by people who tend to be isolated from the population at large. For starters, MPs’ salaries stand at £91,000.

EV advocates often blame poor sales of electric cars on ‘misinformation’.

Charging is so stacked against the poor as to be an ideal subject for fans of class analysis. If your home has a driveway (a feature that makes a house more valuable), then an EV can make a great deal of sense. Each morning, you come down to a car conveniently filled with cheap overnight electricity, priced at as little as seven pence per unit and taxed at a liberal five per cent VAT.

Not so the individual who has to park on the street. He must not only pay a commercial rate of perhaps 85 pence per unit of electricity, but is also hit with 20 per cent VAT. This means that while filling an EV at home can be as cheap as £3.50, the same amount of electricity going into the same car can easily cost £42.50 on the open road. Drivers of the world, unite – you have nothing to lose but your cables.””

The elitism of electric cars

Does that kind of set up sound familiar?

The cabal that is behind Harris will take any stance to win in November, even though such stances are opposite of the stances it held a few days, or a few weeks ago.

That left wing, socialist cabal of Obama/Clinton holdovers tries to take over the US under a false flag, like a Trojan horse.

Once in place, their true colors will show, and you will get the worst screwing you have ever had, even worse than under Biden/Harris during the past 4 years.

Harris claiming to be a Centrist, it like the fox claiming to be little red riding hood

Oh, BTW, stolen valor, serial liar, embroiderer Walz, likely will not be able to get a top secret security clearance, because of his mostly unreported 30 trips to China, his teaching there, his receiving many gifts, his receiving many perks, his extolling about China to his US students. The list is long.

He is a lover of China and profited from it, and should not be anywhere near the While House, or in government.

If he had to report all of that crap on his security form, to get a secret clearance, he knew he could not be promoted from E-8 to E-9, which is the reason he resigned from the National Guard, years before his enlistment term was up.

Then he ran for a seat in the US House.

Our shiny new Labour government obfuscated and lied all through the election campaign.

Once the votes are in, nothing can be done until 2029 and that’s the way it is…

“”Starmer Vows No Tax Surprises in Labour’s Election Offer””https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-06-08/starmer-vows-no-tax-surprises-in-labour-s-final-election-offer

Followed by a bit of gaslighting. Despite the public finances being entirely visible, through the ‘Office of Budget Regulation’, no less…

“”Ahead of the election, the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) had said that a new government would likely see a shortfall of £10-£20 billion by 2028/29. After the chancellor’s statement, IFS Director Paul Johnson said many of the challenges Labour outlined in July were “entirely predictable”””

https://www.lemonde.fr/en/economy/article/2024/07/31/british-labour-discovers-22-billion-hole-in-public-finances_6705693_19.html

Green austerity
“””I think we will have to increase taxes in the Budget,” Rachel Reeves told the News Agents podcast.
She was responding to a question about raising money following her claim on Monday that the previous government left a £22bn “hole” in the public finances.
Labour said repeatedly during the election campaign there would be no tax rises on “working people”, but the Conservatives have insisted Labour will increase them.””

Look at her entire career, it becomes clear that she is nothing, not a real person, not a radical anything except for radically in love with herself. The worst kind of stupid, who doesn’t know they are stupid but think, rather, that they are the smartest person in the toom.

Putin supported Biden

Biden was “voluntarily” ousted by Pelosi (it had to be done, she said),

Biden took revenge by supporting Harris

Putin now supports Harris, per Biden’s example, and also because she has that hilarious laugh, which must mean she is doing well.

Spox Kirby, a super duper a.. h…, took offense, said Putin was interfering with the US Election, and that more sanctions on Russia are mulled.

Blackish-Indian Harris is indeed laughingly worse than demented, sniffing, Biden, burdened by his pervert sex, drug, gun toting, tax evasion son, former member of the Board of a major Ukrainian gas company, the highlight of his non-career.

But Biden could not manage a teleprompter and that turned out to be a fatal shortcoming, plus he had that impromptu visit to the Hospital in Denver, which revealed incoherent babbling after a mini stroke, and a very temporary stunt double, which was about 4” taller than Biden.
Oh Man, give me a break!

Steve, the ousting of Biden was planned months in advance (if not years).
No, Harris was not supposed to get in. Something went very wrong with the “deal” at the last moment. I suspect Hillary muddled and pushed Harris. Obama was againstHarriss and so was Pelosi(although she was mostly against Biden staying and losing selections, due to the steal being extremely hard to pull of he stays).
We are dealing with 3 factions that are infighting: Obama, Clintons and Pelosis. There are more, smaller factions, but these are the biggest ones.
Obama’s people left the WH about 1.5 years ago, Clinton’s people moved in.
Basically there was a deal and the deal fell through at the last moment and Harris, supported by Clintons got the nomination.
We aren’t dealing, like some people tend to think, with a unified bloc. Far from it.

Harris’s tactic is to state whatever she believes is the current “acceptable woke truth” just like most of the other punters who stand for public office. We are a long way from where we once were with politicians when, like a clock, they told the truth twice a day. There isn’t such a thing as truth in a woke world and there never will be.

Harris is being sold as the first black female president.
First of all, I do not care what her sex is.
Second, her skin tone is irrelevant to me. I am color blind.

But to elect a person based on sex or skin tone or religion or ethnicity is not going to result in a capable, competent administrator. The President is supposed to be the governments chief administrator, executing laws pass by Congress.

So, once again it is a trophy and that is not good for us.
Perhaps she would be up to the job if elected, but from what is known today, that is unproven and perhaps more than a little unlikely.

Harris’ father was black. Harris’ mother was Indian. Neither were US citizens.

Harris’ father abandoned her and her mother when Harris was a child. She and her mother then moved to Canada where she grew up. She did not return to America until attending college.

Therefore, in order to be accurate, she should run as America’s first Canadian Indian female President.

The key determinant on the Harris policy position on virtually anything is dependant on what day it is.
If it is a Monday well that is the day to talk about banning fracking.
On Tuesday that is the day to talk about boosting fracking.
Wednesday is condemn open communication rights on social media
Thursday champion open communication rights on social media.
Friday well that is Trans Gender inclusivity day or TGI Friday.
Saturday, open borders are great, policy announcements on border controls.
Sunday a day of prayer seeking forgiveness for the past week’s policy confusions.

The debate will occur at 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning local time.
I will be asleep in my bed at that time.

About 9 or 10 hours later the breakfast caffeine will have kicked in and I will start perusing the various “Highlights” articles on the Internet.

Translating this to “US TV networks and newspapers” equivalents the expected “conclusions” are :
CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo, … : Kamala Harris won conclusively, Orange Man Bad.
Fox, OAN, NY Post, WSJ … : Donald Trump won conclusively, Kamala is a communist.

The notable result after the Trump-Biden debate was that you had CNN and MSNBC talking heads saying “Well that was a disaster, ‘we’ will have to ‘persuade’ Joe Biden to withdraw”.
