Pascal Husting, the international program director at Greenpeace International, said he began “commuting between Luxembourg and Amsterdam” when he took the job in 2012 and currently made the round trip about twice a month.
The flights, costing about $365 return, are paid by Greenpeace, even though it campaigns to cut air travel, arguing that the growth in flying “is ruining our chances of stopping dangerous climate change.”
Lots of stories (here and here) about Greens flying round the globe and generally living it large – they have no shame really do they.

Not long ago, President Obama stopped on his way to Air Force One for another golfing trip just long enough to give a short speech on climate change and call skeptics Flat Earthers. The hypocrisy of his actions didn’t even phase him. Why should I respect the hypocrites who lecture me on global warming when all of them have much larger carbon footprints than I do and show no evidence of trying to cut back? If you really believed your behavior was leading to a world-wide catastrophe, wouldn’t you change your behavior? Wouldn’t you practice what you preach by setting an example? Of course you would If you actually believed your own words.
Until now approximate 650 people withdrew their membership. If the MSM in the Netherlands would publish the trouble of Greenpeace in India that would help to minimise this criminal organisation further.

I just looked it up on the Eurorail website since most rail is electric there, and a round trip, 2nd class ticket from Amsterdam to Luxembourg ticket runs at $320.
The head of the Green Party in Sweden commuted weekly by air between Stockholm and Helsinki for several years, despite there being an overnight ferry from city center to city center.
Her excuse was that there were too many people doing tax-free boozing on the ferry, so it really wasn’t very nice. One would have thought that in that case she could have kept to her cabin, but that idea apparently never occurred to her.

Geesh, it’s only twice a month – why can’t he drive? Or take a train?
When you consider the time to check in, board, go through baggage claim, get a taxi/rental car/etc.,
he’d be there quicker with his own car. It would also be cheaper, probably.
He would also have time to listen to taped speeches of ALGORE ™ pontificating about the climate and how he invented the internet, etc., etc.
I’ve made it (driving+ferry) from Frankfurt to London in 10 hours…made the same journey, by air, in winter, bad weather, delays, etc., was almost the same time, with a great deal more stress than it was by auto. Extreme case, but still, Luxembourg to Amsterdam is not THAT far….plus, he could look at all the real WINDMILLS 🙂 Or, by train…trains in europe are quite good, and fast…better still if you’re a train fan…
Anyway, the greens aren’t about math, science, or, it appears, even reality….they just want to
transfer money from our pockets to theirs….

I have written an article about this; “global warming hypocrites” and they drive me bonkers. They drive cars, fly planes, use electricity, heat/cool their houses, yet they seem to be against all that at the same time!
The environmental movement but in particular it’s individual corporate components such as Greenpeace as an example are not much different in their basic corporate structure, their aims which are to increase their influence power and wealth, aims which are identical to any other corporation in any other industry at a similar stage in the corporate life cycle.
Perhaps the most notable characteristic of the greens and the entire environmental movement is, unlike most publicly held corporations, are their narcissism and their total and absolute hypocrisy and their demonstrable inability to self exam or accept criticism of any sort at any level from outside of their organisation. [ and apparently from within their organisations as well as “itsnotmeitsyou” enlightens us above. ]
As with all corporations, companies and organisations right down to your local arts and crafts and sporting groups, all such formalised gatherings of human beings have a limited life cycle.
There have been a number of studies conducted on corporate life cycles over a the years and there are commercial organisations set up to advise companies on strategies that they might use to try and re-invigorate their corporation at the life cycle stage it is currently in
One such corporation advisory body is the “Adizes Institute” which has a roll over graph in it’s web site which shows the life cycle stages a corporation goes through and the characteristics of that stage in the corporation life cycle.

For my money I would suggest that Greenpeace and I suspect quite a number of other so called and misnamed “environmental” organisations are now in or close to the “Early Bureaucracy” stage in that Adizes Institute life cycle graph.
And that presages the beginning of the end for that corporate entity, Greenpeace in this case
With Greenpeace and it’s terrible legacy of probably some seventy million avoidable deaths since the early 1970’s from it’s political and legal efforts to get DDT banned and the resulting 40 to 50 million avoidable deaths from malaria. [ WHO figures ] together with it’s political, legal and physical thuggery to try and stop the release of the GMO Golden Rice that was bred to overcome the vitamin A deficiency amongst the poorest of Asia’s rice eaters, a legacy of another ten or twenty million avoidable deaths within the last 15 years along with totally unnecessary suffering imposed on hundreds of millions suffering from impaired immune systems due to vitamin A deficiency, all for no other than ideological reasons of some western based organisation intent on imposing it’s vision of the world on humanity, in particular forcibly imposing it’s ideological beliefs on the poorest, weakest and least powerful of humanity’s numbers.
To hopefully see the ultimate downfall and demise of Greenpeace will be good riddance at the very least of one of the most destructive of human life and therefore one of the most passively criminal corporations in all of mankind’s history.
I have a similar problem with these hypocrites who push ‘buy local’ and to look for products with the lowest ‘production miles’ or similar measure.
The hypocrisy is due to their desire for their local farmers/producers to grow their business with ‘Buy local’ but have no issue with the same businesses, when they are successful, exporting to other areas/states where, obviously, it is OK for the other areas to NOT buy local.

The one who makes me really sick is Prince Charles who has the biggest private flight budget of all the royals and then sanctimoniously preaches about global warming. His global warming statement in his garden using dead trees cost virtually my lifetime carbon footprint.
Then you get the sanctimonious idiots like Westwood who as a very loud, both loud in the vulgar colours she uses, but also loud mouthed ignorance to match, preaching at us.
None of these celebrity intellectual sub norms ever think that just answering the question of how the computer models that fail even to include modelling of the natural biological and geological systems because no data is available can seriously be considered to be beyond question might help their cause if it had any substance.
Incidentally if you look at the figures in the specification of aircraft the fuel consumption on medium and long haul per passenger is comparable with a family car and significantly better than the motorised gin palaces used by most celebrities and royalty. Not true of course for private flights like the royals and many execs which make even their gin palaces consumption look modest.
