Really? I guess this explains Mary Magdalene during the Roman Warm Period.
Several House Democrats claim that trace amounts of carbon dioxide could push women to ‘transactional sex’ for survival
Several House Democrats are calling on Congress to recognize that climate change is hurting women more than men, and could even drive poor women to “transactional sex” for survival.
…
Climate change could also add “workload and stresses” on female farmers, which the resolution says produce 60 to 80 percent of the food in developing countries.

No wonder polls are showing a lack of support for climate issues, even the dumbest voter can see through this.

So climate change will create more “women of negotiable affections”. So who is Lord Vetinari?

where are these transactions supposed to take place when everywhere is flooded. Bet LA Gore is licking his lips already, the randy old toad.

No richard, haven’t you heard?
He’s not a randy old toad, he’s a sex poodle.
Although no one says who’s sex poodle.
I shouldn’t have gone there.
Now I’ll have ugly dreams.

I think Obamacare is the more likely cause if there is an increase in transactional sex. After all, because of Obamacare, many waiters and waitresses will soon be limited to under 30 hours work per week, thus causing recourse to alternate means of employment.
Naturally one could argue that – in a roundabout sort of way – climate change caused Obamacare so there we are right back where we started.

Oh no, its worse than we thought!

Not that it will do any good, but I sent that link to my democrat senator and asked him if all dems were nuts. I don’t expect an answer. Again.
——————————————————————–
I too doubt you’ll get an answer because every democrat politician knows the honest answer would be “of course, isn’t it obvious by our actions?”

I went down to Tijuana more than one time for some “transactional sex” when I was single, hell of a bargain in TJ just a few years ago before it got crazy. Not sure how “global warming” had anything to do with it though….
@ur momisugly Code Tech.
Actually, there are some scholars who doubt the existence of Jesus. They include Bruno Bauer , Arthur Drews, G.A. van den Bergh van Eysinga (sometime Professor of New Testament at University of Amsterdam) and Robert M. Price, Professor of Theology and Scriptural Studies, Colemon Theological Seminary.
But perhaps you don’t count them as serious scholars. Well, you may appeal to a 97% consensus.
I make my claims (which include the word “probably”) on the basis of the evidence.
As far as the hints about MM being a wife or lover, we have the references in the various apochryphal gospels and the interesting gospel claims that she followed him around in a manner that would not have been usual except for a wife. They are no more than hints, but I didn’t declare they were proof.
I don’t think that very much at all can be proved about the characters of the New Testament.
And I have never read the Da Vinci Code, and I no more care about what Wiki says about it than I care about what Wiki says about Global Warming.
Thread Winner right there! 🙂
And what a clever way to call their environmental bluff.
Gee, if only there were some female farmers on this site. Then we could ask them if climate change makes them want to take up prostitution.
Which would be different from hearing how they feel like prostitutes when Daddy Obama tells them to lay back and take it, take all of it, and Government will give them everything Government thinks they need. Because Government likes taking it back as taxes, however possible, even that backdoor carbon tax they’re trying to get through the EPA, and hookers don’t do kickbacks.
Sounds logical to me. If there is less food then we are going to need more backs to the land girls…. 🙂
This is so potty it could have come from the Tea Party. Oh, oops ..!
“Seriously? Then as the climate isn’t warmng and probably getting cooler, then there will be fewer? During the Little Ice Age the “profession” just about disappeared?”
Well no, the Victorian Era was the heyday of British street prostitution, Indeed we had to send the Prime-Minister out to assist with saving “Unfortunates” from sin, well that was his story and he stuck to it…

CodeTech to put in one text “serious historians” in line with a text from wiki about the Da Vinci code is a performance. At least is an explanation for what one understands as serious historians.

I know many people who live in a low income area of my city. Far too many girls that I know have made money as “escorts”. There is no way they EVER would have done that if they had other ways of earning money.
How many of those girls are doing this due to the drought? How many are impoverished due to global warming and how many due to the economy not performing?
ReCode Tech:
“I know many people who live in a low income area of my city. Far too many girls that I know have made money as “escorts”. There is no way they EVER would have done that if they had other ways of earning money.”
Yeah yeah yeah, I’m hostile and belittling, good job you aint met me in person cos I’m an aggressive asshole too, but I’m also right. You were saying and are repeating the sex-is-sin trope which is tripe. I cited definite examples to disprove your meme and all you’ve got in reply is that some people have to do jobs they’d prefer other jobs to. Well the examples I gave included one prostitute who happens to be a dear friend of mine (well, no, I dont mean expensive I mean close to my heart) who chose prostitution in preference to her previous career as an engineer. So your “argument” is as hollow as your sanctimonius bleating tone. You bore me.
Interesting, could it be that it isn’t CO2 but it is the increases in their electric rates due to the assault on conventional power and the pushing of renewables that would result in these women looking for ways to augment their income? The Democrats pushing this nonsense only real complaint would be that said income would be undeclared and therefore untaxed meaning they wouldn’t have access to it.
This doesn’t correlate with daily observations. After 120 minutes watching a movie people are breathing in an atmosphere of about 5000-7000 ppm, not “trace amounts” of CO2. With huge amounts as those, most women should be going out from the movie house offering their sexual services to every man in the street. The same should happen in universities and high schools after 40 minutes of attending class… but observations tell us that they keep giving sexual services to their college mates for free… well, most of them.
Can politicians get more moronic than this? Yes, they can… there is no limit for politician’s idiocy!
On the contribution of poverty to prostitution:
Consider: Musician (female) between engagements, wallet empty, rent due. Acquaintance (male) offers assistance. Does not actually say so, but obviously expects ultimate expression of gratitude.
Where does she go from “entertainer accepting gifts from admirers” to “courtesan who dabbles in music?”
Interesting choices we get sometimes.
Let ye who are without sin, cast the first stone.

Then count the number of churches named after the Magdalen in England. France has many more. What might that suggest?

Those congresspeople who sponsored this resolution obviously aren’t qualified to hold their offices. You have to be human and have a brain to serve in Congress. These boneheaded australopethecines fail on both counts. But in their defense, maybe AGW emptied their craniums and reverted them to the pre-human condition.
The question is, when will the public finally wake up to how ludicrous, how flat-out insane this is?
Chad,
By public, are you referring to the same folks who not only ELECTED those people to office, as well as Obama, not once, but TWICE?
When will the public wake up? When opposition to the left lies down so the full force of their policies can be felt and the opposition can’t be blamed for keeping the policies from working. As long as the universities keep indoctrinating and journalists, for the most part, keep echoing the battle cry of the left, most of the public will continue to blame the opposition rather than the left.
Is it the same democrat who said an island was going to fall over from gw?
wyatt,
You’re referring to Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson.
I think many here are missing the point of the resolution:
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) and her co-sponsors are just pushing more gender politics, aided by some familiar shills, no doubt expecting a return of the favor when it comes to pushing racial preferences.
I would imagine that food traders hoarding futures contracts on staples is a far greater threat to humanity that a few extra carbon dioxide molecules.
Bait n switch, bait n switch……..
Really? All these fact based readers, and no one bothers to point out that Mary Magdalene and the “woman at the well” were not the same person, and therefore Mary was not a hooker?
