Lisa P. Jackson of E.P.A. to Step Down – NYTimes.com
Ms. Jackson has said that she used the second account because her public e-mail address was widely known and that her e-mail alias — “Richard Windsor” — derived from the name of her dog and her former home in Windsor Township, N.J..

Regulations live forever … Even ones that are not yet implemented. A common trick of the statists.
I think it’s not unreasonable to suppose that given her (and her proteges) attacks on coal, oil, gas, nuclear and pretty much any sane energy source, her plainly watermelon partisan approach and comprehensively bad attitude to accountability = she’s left before some more unsavory information hit the ‘net. There’s some real unpleasantness lurking – and they’re hoping this nips out any further digging.
It’s my experience that when folk in an organisation start using aliases – they can’t stop…. Noms de guerre and all that.
If you throw in folk like Armendariz who have been self evidently recruited as swashbuckling eco warriors – it all points to a pretty toxic mindset inside the organisation and it’s obvious that there’s far, far more where all this has come from….
You will see somebody superficially “greyer” appointed – but look closely and if it follows the pattern we’ve seen in the U.K. – they’ll just be a gormless sock puppet for the already embedded activists at best.
She’s just been cast off in an act of Autonomy and it’ll be business as usual – no doubt Lisa will wash up somewhere as what we Brits call a Quango Queen.
Apparently, there was a Richard Windsor who was a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enforcement attorney, passed away on December 7, 2008 and had worked with former EPA Administrator Carol Browner, according to this source.

The arrogance of people like Lisa actually knows no bounds. Their contempt for citizens and the legal constraints on their powers continues past the point where they’re found guilty – because it’s about an ideological belief system and “the struggle” – and well, I don’t think it’s over-egging it – eco-jihad and not about honesty, transparency and practicalities.
They conflate being a public servant with being in government – and heads of government departments can do anything they like – like some medieval princeling – if they possess some wit and cunning they’re off before the mob with burning torches turns up – clutching whatever they can carry and given Ms Jackson’s perch in the pecking order and obvious favor with the folks at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue – she won’t be wanting for dog food. .
Can I start an ugly rumor?
“There’s speculation (sarc/) that former Vice-President Al Gore is on the short list ((sarc/)) for the position, and heavily favored. Others on the list (((sarc?))) are political commentator Joseph Romm ((sarc/ sarc/)), college professor Michael Mann, and physcist ((((sarc/)))) James Hansen of the (formerly) (((((sarc/))))) prestigious NASA.” (double sarc/)
I wonder how much of this was the human testing stuff Steve Milloy has pursued at junkscience.com?
To paraphrase Star Trek, “The good of many doen’t matter to the cause of the few.”
Please, please, dear Lord . . . don’t let her come back to New Jersey.

I would prefer to go back to the 1960s before ‘Silent Spring’ made people scared for the environment (notice parrallels now-a-days with AGW). I have over the decades spent millions of dollars investing in mitigation of the by products (some people call it pollution) that my industrial processes had produced. In the old days, I used to be able to dispose of them the cheapest most convenient method I choose. Not any more since the government now meddles in my business and costs me a fortune. I look at overseas countries and see how their industries are not troubled by regulations on the safe disposal of by products. In fact the governments help those industries by making sure communist agitators don’t cause trouble under the disguise of looking after the environment. Sure the by products can be a little inconvenient to the local area for a short time, but the world is a big place and the environment can look after itself without the EPA interfering.
And in addition, because of this . . .

. . . do we really need to entertain the thought of this?

Calm down…. I think I’ve found a solution – since quite a lot of “you lot” want to send “us lot” back Piers Morgan from CNN – and quite a lot of “us lot” don’t want him – I’ve been scrabbling around for a reasonable solution.
Free enterprise pokes it’s head in and comes up with a really good solution.
Can we start a fund / have a whip round? – PayPal shouldn’t be a problem obviously.

There is such a thing as “pollution” and there is such a thing as “activism”. Sadly, today the activists are running the asylum.
TYPO! “There is such a thing as “pollution” and thier is such a thing as “activism”.”
Should be: “There is such a thing as “pollution” and there is such a thing as “activism”.”
[And an activist are in the peer tree …. Mod]
Convenient. Jackson falls on her sword providing political cover for the administration. It will be business as usual for the incoming administrator, all the heat and finger pointing will be directed at Jackson. Not one regulation will be rolled back.

I get the feeling that Obama per se is not really a warmist anymore as he notices no climate change over the past 16 years, he doesn’t seem to be very enthusiastic about and just follows the wind as they say and does not want to be blamed in the future for a huge mistake….
When will the Republicans grow some balls and withdraw funding for the EPA?
Time to replace a few more timeservers with tea party candidates.
Eric Worrall. Too right, and at the same time they should remove the right for people to sue God fearing republicans for problems they may (or may not more likely) have due to the pollution that is produced. I have to admit, that the fear of litigation is a powerful deterrent to just dumping the chemicals in an on site pond like I used to. But it was hard to prove that the chemicals didn’t contaminate the ground water, and the blighters made me pay just the same. I maintained that water was already contaminated and they had already had those health problems. But you know how it is, if a lawyer smells a buck in it, he’ll go after it.
What is it with these recent yuppie Americans who seem to think that their cats and dogs are just like people and can go anywhere people go.
Our local downtown Saturday Organic (carbon filled) farmer’s market, has signs all over the place saying “no pets” and still people bring their mongrels on a string, as if they are somehow special.
Just today at the auto dealer getting service for my car, two different people walked in with dogs on a string; one of them a monster mastiff, as if they owned the place.
Dogs are animals, and people with them, should leave them at home or inside their car, instead of inflicting them on everybody else. And if you say anything to them, they tell you to mind your own business; which come to think of it, is exactly what I was doing.
but possibly Richard Windsor is actually smarter than Lisa Jackson.
Oh! and I saw a wonderful clip of the first mutt jumping up on Michelle’s lap; really a wonderful story for someone who had their umpteenth vacation cut short. Gummint will still run out of money ere year end, despite The First Lady’s sacrifice.

…
The only question left is when will they completely break the USA and bankrupt her. Our manufacturing is gone and the factories packed-up and shipped overseas.
…
Not. Quite. Yet.
… Of course, I don’t know what you read for ‘news’ or what social circles you might frequent so maybe that is the only conclusion one in your position can arrive at?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I was reading the US Census. And the packing up and shipping came from a guy I folk danced with in the 1980’s who owned a company in the business of packing up US factories and shipping them overseas.
Both are direct sources or do you disagree?
Possible replacements:

john from DB
Remove the funding, as was done with Civil Aeronautics Board, of these rogue agencies. The list is long.
I have thought for a long time that the unspoken goal is to ship out both the manufacturing industry and agriculture to other countries so this one can be used for a country club and/or casino.
Clever strawmen. Nobody here will bite (I hope).
They have been watching the Irish carbon tax receipts and others with dollar signs in their eyes and that explains the contrived approach to science manipulation to fill out the legal forms and move on with the political push.
Roger Knight. It is simple, by giving people like the EPA any sympathy, you are helping transferring industry to easier to operate countries. The trade off for local jobs is a little pollution, you can’t have one without the other. So by displaying your communistic sympathies in defending the EPA you are personally assisting in wrecking local industry. Is this what you want?
