Not sure exactly where he said that, as that headline isn’t in the news article as a quote, but if he did say that to the reporter, apparently Mr. Gore hasn’t seen this recent study from the University of California yet: Doomsday messages about global warming can backfire, new study shows
And apparently all the evidence Mr. Gore needs these days comes from the “weather is not climate, unless we say it is” line of reasoning.
From the Hindustan Times:
Nobel Peace Prize winner and champion climate campaigner Al Gore outlined the doom the world is awaiting because of climate change and expressed disappointment at world leaders failing to clinch a treaty to fight the new global terror. Terming the logjam in climate negotiations as a “startling paradox”, the man, whose documentary, The Inconvenient Truth won an Oscar said the year 2010 had seen worst of climate change.
“There was severe drought in Russia and extreme flooding in Pakistan. What more evidence is required for action,” he said at HT Leadership Summit.
His worst fear was that after failure of Copenhagen climate summit the talks where heading towards another “zombie” like the Doha process on World Trade Organisation negotiations. Gore’s solution for the problem was taking the issue back to the grassroots and creating a political storm to compel the leaders to react to climate change.
The former president blamed his own country United States – world second biggest carbon emitter — for failing to legislate a carbon law to curb emissions, resulting in failure of Copenhagen.
…
Al Gore had a lot of hope for India to take a lead in fighting climate change.
“India has a tremendous opportunity to lead the world in energy efficient solutions and in effecting a rapid shift to use of alternate energy like wind and solar,” Gore said.

Champion climate campaigner? FFS! Don’t they mean champion lying scumbag? Or maybe champion bull[self snip]er?

…this clown hasn’t changed since his dreary tome “Earth In the Balance.” After reading the first chapter, I gladly gave it away.
That was mean, or do you dislike that person?
Aniway in a alternative world he would indeed have been a former president, unless he had managed to change the American constitution. And everything is possible in a alternative world/universe.
Apparently the Chicago Climate Exchange shutting down has affected Al Gore’s remaining sanity. Can the cliff be far away.
They’ve been using the term “climate change” for about two decades now, now Al Gore will say it’s a “new” global terror. Cancun meeting is just one week away. Expect more soundbytes from the warmers.
I think it’s finally starting to dawn on Al Gore that he’s about to lose massive amounts of money.
“There was severe drought in Russia and extreme flooding in Pakistan. What more evidence is required for action,” he said at HT Leadership Summit.
I mean really, how weak is that. He’s grasping at straws as he realises he can’t tread water for too much longer.
When parroting the press releases cooked up scientists to tout their, journalists should ask just one of them if they agree with Al Gore’s scientific proclamations. I am guessing even the most alarmist climate scientist is embarrassed as hell every time Al Gore opens his mouth. Curiously, Gore’s popularity has sunk rather dramatically in contrast to Bubba’s increasing global political importance.
Droughts and floods? Australians especially will be terrified.
There is one thing ineffably wonderful about the President of the United States who succeeded Bill Clinton. His name wasn’t Al Gore.
In the mean time GE is awarding 200 million in price money for idea’s to “Power the Smart Grid”. They call it eco imagination.
As we all know All Gore has a severe case of ECO Imagination, turned MADNESS.
Maybe it’s time to warn the CEO’s of GE how barking mad AL Gore has become and how stupid it is to build a smart grid that enables door to door power rationing and control. With a smart grid connection Government will even know if you are at home or not. A smart grid in the hands of idiots like Gore is the real terror that is threatening us.

And of course joe public will believe him. The problem is the man in the street is basically too lazy and ignorant to ever look at the facts.
Climate change is the new global terror
Looking forward to the creation of the Department of Homeland Thermometers… perhaps they will stop him at the border to check his emissions for hot air… and someone should have a quiet word in his ear that terrorists are people that try to terrorise other people.
For a guy that saw billions slip through his fingers when the Chicago carbon trading went belly up, there’s simply nothing to do but go back and try again. Even today, it’s still a good gig and he has all those electric bills to pay at the mansion, fuel to buy for the yacht and those jet trips to make.
Al Gore the former President?
Is that a classic example of data fudging – sorry post-acquisition enhancement – along similar lines to the UHI correction factor which reduces temperatures measured before 1975?
Leaving aside the criminal dishonesty of the man and everything he does on the GW/CC/CD subject, and the fact that he is a buffoon when it comes to science, he is not entirely stupid in his marketing campaign.
By pitching to India, he is picking an audience that is unlikely to question his lunatic schemes. Indians typically are way too polite and respectful towards authority figures for them to openly disagree. They have also had too many years of one of their own people pushing Patchy science.
It is an easy sell, especially if it supports the massive transition of more manufacturing activity out of Europe/US and into India, as the carbon credit scam most certainly does…
India is also very keen to get onto the UN Security Council, too, so don’t expect any rocking of the IPCC boat to come from this country.
Carbon scammers out in force like cockroaches chasing floor sweepings. Must be some kind of international conference on the horizon.
Stern, Gore, Deutsche Bank and no doubt many more to come ramping up the rhetoric as they watch their investments collapse and see Mexico as their last hope (yet again).

I guess we will be getting molested at petrol pumps as well as airports.
What can he say? He’s peeved to have lost money on the “buy air” scheme and wants it resurrected on the pretense to save the world from global warming.
These type of people want to suck every last penny from your borrowing pockets and then turn their backs to enjoy the “good life” off YOUR back!
I believe the comments above have just about covered it. Mr Gore needs to be “sent out to the farm” where he can relax, chop some C02 wood and learn what real BULLS@ur momisugly#T smells like.
What a pathetic parody of a man…
People still pay Gore to spew gloom and doom?
This is just business. The guy collects US$ 170,000 for each conference (plus first class air tickets and five-star hotel fees for him and his staff) and his London-based GIM “Greenie investments” fund depends quite a lot from his public image as a climate champion. And he still has to recover from the shutting down of the Chicago Climate Exchange.
Al is a true polititian loud, lying, and loathsome, but probably the the greatest asset
we sceptics have keep it going Al.
I’m with Jack on this one:
“We in the West can only apologise for foisting this despicable man upon you. A man worth several millions of dollars with several large houses, who travels in private jets and large limousines…comes to the Indian sub-continent with his discredited movie and tells them they must have shackles put on their development and make do with less.
You should tar and feather him and ride him out of town on a rail.”

Mr. non-scientist Algoresaurus rex said “There was severe drought in Russia and extreme flooding in Pakistan. What more evidence is required for action,” he said at HT Leadership Summit.
Where I live, we had a very mild summer, as we had the past 10 years or so, (it’s been 13 years since we had 40C+, we just had a good rainy autumn while the previous winters ranged from what we term as “very cold” to balmy, which is quite the norm round here. What more evidence is required to realise that Mr. non-scientist algoresaurus rex is a one-eyed king among the blind?
It was Al Gore who got me into checking the science some years ago, when he told me that my grand children would have to grow corn in Antarctica to survive while the rest of the planet would be turned into a desert due to the inreasing CO2 from burning HC’s.
This is all pre-Cancun propoganda, hoping against all hope….to get his money back from the Chicago Climate (Change) Exchange.

This is unbelievable. Even after everything that has come to light publicly over the past year. It is truly astounding the level of delusion.
It’s not “delusion.” It’s fraud, and this parasite is a massive part of it. It is his, and his elitist friends’ aim to *manufacture terror* in order to control us with fear. AGW is just one. The so-called “war on terror” is another favourite one of theirs.
Problem for them now is, they’ve overplayed their cards. Once you start lying about science you’re on very shaky ground, because real science requires real evidence, not propaganda. No matter what they might say about the science being “settled,” the truth will always come out in the end – as indeed it already has, for those with eyes to see it. Anyone but the most naive (or zealous Green) can now see what a snake Gore is, and he knows he’s [/snip].
[Snip made. I suggest caution selecting literary illustration lest they be misconstrued as a threat or indication of planned physical harm. Thanks… bl57~mod]
RE Smart grids (someone has mentioned them up here), they’re so smart that your house can be switched off remotely by a heartless computer sitting nicely at the service provider’s power centre, which, sensing that the wind turbines have lost power and there is not enough power for everybody, the computer will start switching off clients, starting from those who have not settled the bills yet, then those who settle bills late, (usually the very poor and poor respectively) and continuing up the list till the smart service provider manages to balance the demand with the supply. The chances is that this would happen on a very cold night or a very hot summer day, when power is needed most.
Very smart and exactly what Lord haw-haw Stern is demanding.
“India has a tremendous opportunity to lead the world in energy efficient solutions and in effecting a rapid shift to use of alternate energy like wind and solar,” Gore said.
Indian scientists would be laughing out so loud that we would be able to hear them form this side of the planet, if it wasn’t for them being so busy building nuclear power plants.
