Climate craziness of the week

“Art” is in the eye of the beholder. Global warming “art” is often lodged in another place in the body.

From AOL News:, this artistic project is described as: “…off London’s Millennium Bridge. Taiwanese artist Vincent Huang used two glass penguins and a stuffed toy polar bear for the eye-catching project, which aims to raise awareness over climate change.”

Never mind that polar bears and penguins don’t share the same icecap, it’s “art”.

Read the story behind this at AOL News.

Also, the idea of suicidal animals to raise awareness on global warming is not new, it was used last year in this video below from an outfit called Quercus in Portugal. The “artistic rendition” above is simply a low budget copycat.

Why no brown bear? Why no black bear?
Racist.

Joe Crawford – leave your girl friend immediately! She’s got appalling taste in pictures. 😉
On the “art”,London sees enough awful modern installation pieces for people not to think twice about checking out some fibreglass models dangling under a badly made bridge.

Whoops. I should point out that I don’t think the “art” as shown is offensive
(just in poor taste and lacking sensitivity), but people in London won’t
get that view: what they’ll get is a distant view of three bodies; apparently
one adult and two infants hanging off the bridge. That, I think, is likely to
be upsetting to people.

Anthony: Please re-post that hilarious cartoon of the pompous naked emperor walking along under a shade held up by four 18th century flunkies and labeled “IPCC”. It’s so perfect, now more than ever. I’ve searched the site but can’t find it.
(If someone else posted it from a picture site like Flickr, please repost it.)

I like it! Nice creative stuff to put the other pov.
Maybe a starving child in Africa asking Mommy why its so cold… and then your pan-out idea, encompassing frozen wildlife, frozen lakes, dead crops….
Gee, if only we could tap into all that Big-Oil funding that we keep hearing about!

Luboš Motl (03:30:38) : “It’s like one of the stories in South Park where the green activist planned to kill one of those children heroes to prove that second-hand smoking was harmful, or something like that.”
Season 7, Episode 13, “Butt Out”. Anti-smoking activist Rob Reiner tries to poison Cartman and claim he died of lung cancer.

I’m waiting for the boys to cover the film “Avatar” the way they did “The Day After Tomorrow”.

Blatant propaganda. Yet, there are environmental wackos imagining they are fighting big oil and corporations. AGW suffers all the symptoms of propaganda, its acceptance is forced, from the top down to the masses. This stunt is an example of how ridiculous reality has become.

Typical! “Taiwanese” artist Vincent Huang hangs them off a London Bridge! Where were our home grown artists! Better still, why does Vincent Huang not try it off of one of the many bridges in Taiwan or even China?
O/T I know but if “A” will allow me, Bill Tuttle (00:28:17) : and r (06:49:00)….. Care to flip over your keyboard or check out your computer/laptop? I would hazard a guess that you are using excellent Chinese products just to log onto the site. Ever given a thought that it is importers in your own country that buy junk cheap without quality control and then sell it to people dumb enough to think cheap = quality?

Hah. Time for some entertainment!
List, in order of preference, who you would rather see hanged in effigy off of that bridge.
My preferences are as follows:
– Al Gore
– Jim Hansen
– Choo Choo Pachauri
– Ivo da Bore
forget it too many to list

Oh. And Ben Santer. I had to mention Ben Santer.
In fact I would be happy to see ten Ben Santer models hanging from there
