This is for British citizens and expats only. Since George Monbiot called for Dr. Jones to resign, and for the data to be reanalysed, perhaps some UK readers can persuade him to sign.
Here are the details:
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to suspend the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia from preparation of any Government Climate Statistics until the various allegations have been fully investigated by an independent body.
Deadline to sign up by: 24 February 2010
The details of the petition:
The Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia is a “leading centre” for the investigation of “manmade global warming” and government policy relies on the integrity of these statistics. Several claims have been made: that data was “cherry picked” to make the 20th century temperature rise look exceptional in historical terms; emails suggest the unit has colluded in “tricks” to “hide the decline” in a high profile scientific journal, and this unit has colluded in active, secret and highly political campaigning through the website “realclimate”.
The preparation of climate statistics require many judgements: stations move & sites become surrounded by urban sprawl (urban heating) & a judgement must be made of the size of the offset to apply to the global temperature record. The University accepts most emails are genuine so it appears the Unit has been acting in a highly partisan way incompatible with that of a neutral body preparing and interpreting government data. We call on the PM to suspend all further use of the climate research unit until all pertinent allegations have been investigated and any action (if any) has been taken.
If you are a UK citizen, expat, or resident, here is where you can add your name to the petition.

Except for Glenn Beck et al, the MSM CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, et al are comprised of CFR (council on foreign relations) agents(members) pushing their foreign policy for global governance. These are the same people who write US foreign policy. They got so close to global government the can smell it. That’s why the MSM doesn’t cover Climategate. Do you believe me now?
Signed…
The past week has been quite a whirlwind and deeply disturbing from many angles.
Thanks for your continued hard work and dedication Anthony.
Long live true scientific investigation and discovery.
For some strange reason i’ve been tuned into BBC24 for the last 120 minutes. Call it masochism, dunno maybe I’ve a side to me that I’m in denial about.
Perhaps I’m mistuned but it seems that every third story-line I hear is about how bad man is to the environment – don’t ask me about the two fillers, just don’t !
That once beloved bastion of impartionality and truth, the BBC, is part of the problem (thanks mandelson) – and the solution that it advocates is a demolition-derby of plain stupidity.
No more licence tax from me- as Dr Phil would say- *osser
a couple of months ago I posted in comments om wuwt that agw was all about power politics and not science and said if Anthony had found electric blankets wrapped around the data stations during his surveys it would not make one bit of difference to the pro awg scientists. Little did I know that those scientists not only put the electric blankets on the data stations but turn them on high. These liars should be put in jail or else let all the check forgers out.

Gavin Schmidt,”……no ‘marching orders’ from our socialist/communist/vegetarian overlords.”
Is Gavin admitting to having socialist/communist/vegetarian as overlords?
There in the States it would be better to Fax your elected elite.
You can sign a petition Grassfire.org. Along with the petition you can add comments. For $60.00 your fax will reach 101 of our finest elected elites.

I adapted my program that accumulates Science Museum poll counts to track this petition too. I’m not putting the data on the web yet, but at least I have it if something interesting happens. I might save some of the signatory lists if that’s a good thing to do.
BTW, the Science Museum data and links are at http://wermenh.com/proveit.html
I have something to add about that, I’ll put it on Tips & Notes when ready (a FOI request to the Museum).
This topic just keeps getting more awesome by the day. Intriguing like Watergate but moving at the warp speed of the internet.
Just wait ’til McIntyre gets a chance to wade through the data and code. I salivate at the thought!
Keep up the good work Anthony and crew.
I’ll look at the petition!
The BBC and Roger Harrabin are already at it tonight! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8377128.stm
“This year will be one of the top five warmest years globally since records began 150 years ago, according to figures compiled by the Met Office.”
I’ve already posted a reply to this on the Paul Hudon Blog, which seems to be the only way to comment on articles:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulhudson/2009/11/climategate-what-next.shtml
Post Number 10. For 50% of the years since 1998 Haldey and Prof Jones have indeed predicted “A new Warm record” and it ain’t happened yet! Why do the BBC fall for the same trick as more recently as 2007/2005/2003 ! Specifically to Prof Jones I highlighted to them his now almost certainly to fail prediction he made in 2003. An extract:
”
It’s ironic the article below from the BBC archive in 2003, is actually about 2003 ‘failing’ to meet expectations of another global record – hmmm deja vu again? But right at the end of the piece are the famous words of Prof Jones:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/3325033.stm
“Globally, I expect the five years from 2006 to 2010 will be about a tenth of a degree warmer than 2001 to 2005.”
So, with just 1 year to go (2010) then temperature has actually DROPPED by -0.051C, which is actually the opposite sign and half the magnitude of Prof Jones prediction (so far).
But, let’s be fair if 2010 came in at 0.65C that would pull the average up to 0.445C, so that would mean No Change! Of coarse 0.65C would indeed be a new Warm Record by some magnitude considering 1998 came in at 0.515C!”
I also got an moderator editing message for an illegal link :-\ Ironic I thought ;-D

Speaking from Michigan I say ditto!
Hockey is a tough game and the team has been caught playing dirty. Rather than have their heads delivered on a platter I believe the league should send in its toughest referee. I propose that Steve McIntyre referee all the teams future publications and be allowed to audit all their data.
No heads should roll, because we don’t want to gloat, nor do we want to be vindictive. Phil Jones is great at raising grant money so I propose that some of that money should pay for Steve McIntyre’s and Anthony Watts’ time and effort to keep them honest. That’s what I would vote if I could, but I’m Canadian.
I just want the team to serve
Please, PLEASE Michael, let’s DISCREDIT these people on something we can LAY OUR HANDS ON and leave these fanciful OLD ‘… theories’ aside for the
time being (you’re about 1/2 my age, trust me, they are OLD theories; riddle me why DID ‘they’ NOT take-over-the-world while the Soviet Union was *still* intact? … enough now)
.
.
Let me add to the truncated comment: I just want the team to serve a 2 minute penalty – an apology is fine- and then let Steve and Anthony be paid to referee their actions. Science will continue but dirty play will stop.
The traffic is killing CA. We are trying to mitigate it right now.
I love that Ed Begley comment “Do you have an insurance policy on your house? Why wouldn’t you want one for Global Warming?”
Actually, Ed, for the very same reason that I don’t have an insurance policy against Godzilla attacks. Why spend money to protect against something that’s completely made up?
Go fer it our British chums….. get as many on that petition as is humanly possible.
Strange. I signed up late last night; this morning, my signiture’s not there anymore. Is the #10 site having problems? (UK subject, registered to vote, has signed previous petitions.)
^ Disregard that! Site’s having problems, or my browser is.
Done.
I will also encourage all my customers to sign as well.
Couldn’t sign up. I’m an expat in France.
Unfortunately as a UK citizen I have to say that these on-line petitions aren’t worth the paper they’re (not) written on. The government just ignores them and carries on as usual. I don’t think that there is a single case where one of these petitions has actually influenced policy / decision making.
@ur momisugly Thomas (16:40:22) :
Thank you for posting this video “Have a glimpse into the psychotic mind of the control freak green death cultist”.
It is a must watch.
I keep getting an error message on the petition – please enter a valid email address – even though I have done so.
I think they should iron these problems out if they expect people to sign up.
Have just filled in the petition form to 10, Downing Street in connection with the leaked CRU e-mails.On opening the e-mail you subsequently sent me, I clicked on the link, but nothing happened. In other words my vote was not registered.I had already tried twice before with the same result. There is serious problem here which needs sorting. Uk subject by the way
