Right behind CNN

Now this was a surprise:

Out of the 2,854,671 blogs with 132,697 new posts today on www.wordpress.com. I was number 2, right behind the CNN Political Ticker. Details (while it lasts) at http://botd.wordpress.com/top-posts

Surprise #2, I also made the WordPress main page as their top pick “hawt post”. Which you can see here (while it lasts) at http://wordpress.com/

Well looks like my 15 minutes of fame are up, I just got bumped to the #3 position.

Funny, Steve! ROFL!
What a hoot! I can only imagine how many learned a bit about an “off topic” matter just because of a salacious headline! It’s nice to also have a sense of humor on this blog.

It’s nice to also have a sense of humor on this blog.
I thought you get a chuckle out of that. I’m a bird watcher, and I still cracked up when I read it. And now that you mention it, humor is the one thing (well, other than the truth of course) that’s sorely missing from most Alarmist sites.

The one way they’ll get AGW off the bottom of the “25 most important issues list” is if they can convince the world that it’s going to cause the disappearance of great tits.

Anthony, I guess NASA reads this blog. They have corrected the Scientits headline of their story from last month!
They’re rewriting history yet again.
REPLY: That’s not rewriting history by any definition. It’s simply spell check.

Personally, I think that the thought here is subpar. Not only are there mistakes, but you even lack enough feel for your own level of what you don’t know. This sort of blog makes all of us skeptics look bad, in it’s common silliness. Coyote is another one. Particularly vexing since that one is run by a Firm alum.
REPLY: And yet you persist visiting here, tossing insults, and contributing nothing other than phantom originated snark. Try contributing something to “elevate” the level instead of your incessant complaining about how sub-par everyone else is. Is it any wonder you keep being banned at blogs?
We may not be perfect. we may not be geniuses, but at least we are honest and open, and we keep trying, and we keep learning.
Like it or not, perfect or not, in your view or of any others, we will continue.

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

True, but they didn’t record the correction 🙂

Hmmmm,
“but you even lack enough feel for your own level of what you don’t know.”
That’s a very awkward phrase. I believe it says volumes about the poster.

I got bad news for TCO. It’s a par world. And it’s the par who get to decide these issues.
If I thought for one minute the “above-par” were capable of making consistent, rational policy decisions, I would instantly become an elitist. But I shudder in horror to imagine how the so-called “intellectual elite” would have decided basic policy since, say 1960. Lord save us from such a horror show scenario!
