Monday Mirthiness – not the mod squad

Josh writes:

The Marcott FAQ at Real Climate has been causing comment over the Easter weekend, particularly at Climate Audit. Roger Pielke Jr also has an excellent post, aptly titled Fixing the Marcott Mess in Climate Science.

Roger writes in the comments:

“There are a few bad eggs, with the Real Climate mafia being among them, who are exploiting climate science for personal and political gain. Makes the whole effort look bad.”

  1. “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?” Iconic foolishness for any human being. April Fool meets Easter Monday.

  2. Schmidt & Mann twins separated at birth by the Atlantic?

Young master Marcott’s reputation & career as sacrificial lamb on the altar of the Great Devil Carbon is just collateral damage in the war to advance the Cause.

  3. If I don’t paraphrase Mae West someone else will…
“Is that a hockey stick in your pants or are you just happy to see me?”

  4. Here’s another joke. From the BBC:

“Climate change is expanding Antarctica’s sea ice, according to a scientific study in the journal Nature Geoscience.
The paradoxical phenomenon is thought to be caused by relatively cold plumes of fresh water derived from melting beneath the Antarctic ice shelves.”

  5. Encouraging for us villagers to see an ‘uptick’ in the personal attacks and smears against these heretics. Gives us an illusion of progress… :)

  6. Sacrificial lamb is he?

We are running out of appropriate names for the mafiosi running dogs. How about: Hench-fools?

  7. Who to choose to include in the Real Climate Mafia? I went for Mann, Schmidt and Steig as they all seem to be on duty at the moment ;-)

  8. Wow Jimmy, even when Antarctica is expanding it’s melting! I propose the penguin paradox paradigm, that having large concentrations of birds that swim instead of fly has distorted the localised logic field.

  9. Crispin in Waterloo but actually in Yogyakarta says: “Sacrificial lamb is he? We are running out of appropriate names for the mafiosi running dogs. How about: Hench-fools?”

    Mannions?
