“Our planet is going to hit disaster if we don’t turn this ship around and so it’s basically like, there’s a scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an Instagram Live video showing her chopping vegetables in her kitchen.
“And it does lead, I think, young people to have a legitimate question, you know, ‘Is it okay to still have children?’”

McKinney lost her district twice to Democrat primary challengers, both times with significant help from Republican voters. First time was to Denise Majette in 2002. It seems this site is under constant attack from the righteous green blob so precautions are necessary.
As the western world’s birth rate is largely on the decline thanks to prosperity, and the developing world’s birth rate is on the increase thanks to poverty, I think what AOC is saying is stop all the poor people having babies.
And in a way, that’s precisly what’s happening. The worst genocide the world has ever seen.
The World Health Organisation tells us that 120,000,000 people in the developing world will die prematurely by 2050 from respiratory conditions directly attributed to smoke inhalation because they are forced to cook and heat their homes with wood and cow dung over open fires. Naturally, the most vulnerable are children.
The poverty stricken are not allowed access to cheap fossil fuel derived electricity principally because Jim Yong Kim*, President of the World Bank and an Obama appointee, deemed it inappropriate to provide loans for them because their emissions are a threat to climate change, instead he gave much of the money to China!?
Kim’s remit was to eradicate poverty in the developing world by 2030, which rather jars with the WHO mortality predictions which go out to 2050. It’s almost like there was never any intention to do anything about people dying unnecessarily.
Incredibly, Kim is a physician by profession and his wife a paediatrician who devotes a lot of her time to work in Africa caring for children. Many of them, presumably, suffering from respiratory conditions caused by smoke inhalation.
Is that what’s known as shutting the gate after the horse has bolted? Or just virtue signalling.
*Kim recently resigned three years early ‘to pursue his career in the private sector’. It seems Donald Trump was way ahead of him as within a couple of weeks of Kim’s resignation he already has someone lined up for the job who is far more sympathetic to the plight of the developing world than Kim.

Um, no. Poor people in the third world don’t stop having babies, just the opposite. Because mortality is so high (the genocide you speak of) poor people have many kids in the hopes of some of them living long enough to take care of them in the later years (note I didn’t say old age, as life expectancy isn’t that long).
AOC is speaking to the first world latte sipping greenies. It’s those in the first world (whose birth rates are already low) whom she is telling to stop having children. It’s just green virtue signaling. the greenies will publicly agree but won’t do anything to prevent themselves from having kids.

1. Start building Generation IV nuclear power plants right now.
2. In the meantime, phase out coal while embracing natural gas. Natural gas burns cleaner than coal.

4. Invest in solar and fusion power research.
5. As our energy infrastructure improves, electric car technology will improve along with it, making fossil fuels largely obsolete. (Airplanes might always need fossil fuels, though, much to AOC’s chagrin.)

It’s a shame her parents didn’t get the no children message.
It took me most of two days to get the joke but it finally dawned on me. If greenies have no kids and skeptics continue to have children, things will turn out peachy. In my younger days, being the good Catholic girl that I was, I wanted to have 12 kids. Until the first one was born. Big Ben. He was 1/3 my height and 1/10 my weight. So I leave it to more substantial women coming up the ranks to fullfill my dreams of a house full of kids.
