As many are already aware, I’ve announced a first ever effort to do a 24 hour webcast to counter Al Gore’s upcoming “dirty energy = dirty weather ” campaign.
Last year we had cartoons from Josh, this year we’ll have that and more. Since for the 153rd straight month (since I’ve become a skeptic, formerly an alarmist), my “big oil” check has failed to arrive, and because of a spanner or two having been tossed into the works by snafus and snipers, I’ve decided to ask for some help.
There are some last minute equipment and software/service purchases I need to make (to solve technical snafus) that I didn’t expect. Like any venture, even with the best of planning, you don’t know how it all works until you put it together and test it. Basically I’ve built a web enabled TV station from the ground up, but as many engineers know, buying off the shelf equipment and putting it all together inevitably has some gotchas you don’t expect until you try it. The difference between sales brochures and actual operation is sometimes a wide chasm to span.
For example, I thought I’d be able to record the entire broadcast using the equipment on hand, but that turns out not to be possible when I’m also doing live streaming. I thought I’d be able to have my streaming service record the programs, and I can, but the cost is prohibitive. So now, the best option is to purchase a digital video recorder that can handle streaming.
The other spanner is that I thought I’d be able to make up my out of pocket expenses with online advertising during the webcast, but there’s been a behind the scenes shot across the bow (which I can’t talk about right now because it will cause more harm than good, but hope to be able to someday) that has squelched that possibility for me. It has also bled over to some other prominent climate science outlets, which makes me very upset, but there’s nothing I can do about it right now.
And, there’s a small laundry list of other items that need upgrading or tweaking.
So if you feel inclined, look for the orange PayPal button on the right sidebar, or click here. Small donations please, as this is a community oriented effort.
Thanks for your consideration – Anthony
UPDATE: I’m good to go folks, so I’ve removed the link above. THANK YOU – Anthony

So all the oil barons finally put up their end of the bargain? What took them so long.. /sarc. Too bad you’re not an esteemed professor of science at a “reputable” university (Like PSU) then you could spend your time writing grants and you’d have millions of dollars to spend…but only if it’s scaring people with fantastical stories of global apocalypse.
Done.
Good luck Anthony.
Rats! Went thru all that to unlock PayPal, and you’ve got enuf orreddy! Just for that, I’ll donate anyway.
Hah!
David L;
I’ve figgered out why the Oil Barons are feeding the Warmists, not us.
They can’t lose (short of actual de-industrialization, of course.) They know the CO2/Climate Science gig is BS, but meantime there’s big grant and subsidy bucks on the table. So they skim as much of that is available, but keep the home fires burning to produce actual power and transportation, etc., instead of pixie dreams.
Gradually, the Invisible Hand of true costing squeezes till even the rent-paying pols start to squeak (Cameron, Merkel, etc.). They then begin restoring and ramping up service again, with suitable surcharges to account for projects delayed and inconveniences in general. Meantime, card house of CS continues to implode. “Tsk, tsk! More oil and gas, gentlemen?”
