Man-oh-Man: Manatees

Counting manatees is exceptionally difficult.  They spend their time under murky sluggish waters,  often have green moss on their backs the same color as the water itself and if congregating, tend to swim above and below one another.  Even in the clear waters of Blue Spring State Park, where they estimate almost 1000 manatees are spending the winter, all of this makes it hard to determine their exact numbers, despite their size.
