Christine Anderson MEP FULL: 15-Min Cities, Climate Lockdowns & Digital Tyranny

Asher Press

Christine Anderson From 15-Minute Cities to Climate Lockdowns, the Onslaught of Digital Tyranny
“The Digital Green Certificate, the COVID pass, that was a test balloon to get people to [have] to produce some kind of a QR code, just getting people used to that. Now, what they’re slamming us with is these 15-minute cities. Make no mistake. It’s not about your convenience,” argues Christine Anderson. She’s a member of the European Parliament, representing the Alternative for Germany Party.

Anderson was one of the European Parliament’s most vocal critics of COVID-19 policies in Europe, Canada, and beyond.

Western democracies are gradually moving toward digital tyranny, she argues. The next step? Climate lockdowns.

“Once we end up in a totalitarian regime and it’s fully blown, given the technological means they have at their disposal today, we’re not talking about 30 years of GDR [German Democratic Republic], 40 years of GDR. We’re not talking about 70 years of the Soviet Union. We’re talking about a very, very long time. That’s what you should fear,” Anderson says.

In the 1920s and 1930s, “Germany was a highly developed society, I mean, lots of smart people, well-educated people, but it was possible for this society to turn evil to an extent that is unimaginable …We always get asked: ‘How was that even possible?’ Well, take a look at the last three years, and you have your answer,” Anderson argues.

“We just need to be clear on one thing: each and every one of us is capable of inflicting the most horrible atrocities on our fellow mankind, given the right circumstances. But if you are not aware of the fact that yes, you are able to do the same thing, then you have no mechanism to fight it,” Anderson says.

I used to joke that the hype and hysteria by the ‘global elite’ was an attempt to stratify society – into a ‘Haves’ and a ‘Have Nots’ level. They seemed to take “Downton Abbey” as a model – where you had scads of servants wanting to serve them in pretty much any means they could manage.

After all, how can you be an ‘elite’ without a dedicated servant class? How can you be elite if everyone can have what you have, in some fashion or other? How can you be special, if even the poor can get strawberries in winter?

So they need to set up the conditions where the elite can control again. Now we have to ‘save the planet’. So… you see countries dumping EVERYTHING that keeps their lights on reliably. (Looking at you, Australia…) Nuclear power? It’s icky, so we’ll go with solar and wind power. Oh, look – there’s not enough storage to keep the lights on consistently. So… we’ll use gas and coal plants to make up the difference. Oh, wait – the government wants to shut down damned near all gas and coal plants now. And everyone ought to switch to EVs as soon as possible.

You won’t have the power to charge them (look at California) – but the point’s to reduce mobility, not increase it. Peasants shouldn’t travel, after all. That’s for the elite.

California wants to take away diesel trucks, go to EVs. Yes, it… CAN be done, if you don’t pay attention to the logistics – you won’t have enough trucks for a long time to replace what’s on the road. So – mandate EVs and suddenly everything costs more, and there will be less of it. Electricity will have to be prioritized to logistics to keep people fed.

But there will likely be food. Just don’t think you’ll be able to use natural or propane gas to cook your weekly gruel ration. Gas stoves are deadly, so the Government is saving you from yourself. Here’s a 100 watt government approved hotplate, that you can use when you’ve got electricity. Which, because it’s prioritized, will be on only a few hours a day.

One must have priorities, after all. And saving the planet must come first.

In the mean time, China and India are building more and more coal and gas plants. We literally (not figuratively, but LITERALLY) could eliminate every bit of our CO2-generated power and transportation and it wouldn’t make one bit of difference to the world CO2 levels.

I think – and I’m probably wrong about this – that some folks are starting to realize they’ve been sold a pile of used hay masquerading as ‘concern for the climate’. The Dutch farmers, the German people (not their elites), a lot of the folks in the UK are realizing that the push to ‘save the planet’ is just a way of saying “You are servants, we are elites. You will do as we say.”

Wish to God I could think these extrapolations wouldn’t come about. I never would have expected to see our politicians here in the US throwing away what makes us a First World nation on the flimsiest of pretenses, or those in other countries trying to create food and energy shortages to essentially cripple their own countries.

But yet – here we are…

Awesome post & summary – exactly what is happening – In future posts always remember to add that the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is tiny <4 one hundreds of 1% but more importantly the vast majority of it is naturally occurring and there isn’t much we can do about that so what could be removed is insignificant wrt the composition of the atmosphere and couldn’t possibly control the climate – it is the only thing that makes a climate alarmists at least give some thought to the absurdity of the whole narrative

Over many years I have asserted that the several instances that we see in recent history of oppressive authoritarian regimes – classically Germany in the 1940s – are NOT singular one-off atypical occasions caused by a madman taking over a country, but rather a situation which can overtake ANY group of humans, one which is built into our genes.

I do not see the leaders of such regimes as ‘mad’ – I simply think that this is what happens to politicians who are ‘riding the tiger’ when the country beneath them falls into authoritarian extremism. If the boot had been on the other foot, I could easily see the UK or USA starting a WW2 war of aggression against a peace-loving Germany or Japan…

very poor comparison , what do you mean shoe on the other foot. Even with all its flaws the US was a functioning Democratic republic in the 1930s ( and more than a little bit isolationist) the Japan and Germany of the 30 s had allowed their ( fledgling) democracy s to be destroyed. The US politicians and many in the population were tempted to follow totalitarian ideology as some sort of solution to the great depression but did not succumb to the temptation.

No one is turned away from a hospital in the UK? You should ask some seniors waiting for a knee or hip replacement about that. Or maybe a pregnant mother-to-be in France that has to travel a long distance to a hospital with a birthing center.

You seem to feel that giving really bad medical care to everyone is some kind of achievement.

The US welfare state came later and was a response to something different altogether. Progressives discovered that they could prop up a certain minority with entitlements in exchange for votes. This has worked well for them for 60 years. ~90% of this minority are solid left wing voters now. We call that diversity.

That was an urgent-care centre, a glorified doctor’s office, not a hospital. Premium Cracker is right.. No one gets turned away from a U.S. hospital for want of insurance. It’s the law. I’m Canadian and I know that.

Besides, it’s a man-bites-dog story that everyone remembers because it’s rare and the patient died.

Uninsured Americans do have trouble finding doctors to treat them for chronic conditions that they will not get paid for. Socialized medicine, and the U.S. is itself largely socialized, is eating all fat old rich countries alive. It was never forecasted that doctors would discover so many ways to spend tax and insurance money on so many people.

Reply to  strativarius

The mass shootings get publicity, but the real problem isn’t guns, it’s a refusal to accept that with certain types of freedom comes a higher incarceration rate. In the UK, you’re talking about banning kitchen knives. Criminals don’t follow the laws, whatever they are.

What I’ve found interesting about my travels around the world is that people with any money at all in the EU and UK live in their own prisons, behind barred windows and gated driveways and fences. Even in areas that seem very safe.

Outside the walls, graffiti everywhere, swastikas on every building (the EU clings to its antisemitism like mother’s milk), no nightlife, rigid business hours. Law-abiding citizens are used to not having any freedom. The UK even reveres its royalty and its House of Lords – as if by birth, some people are entitled to rule even if they have no idea what it is like to really live somewhere.

I love Europe, don’t get me wrong. The architecture, the art, the landscape. But I would not want to live there. I’d never enjoy it, my freedom rationed, my holidays limited to when everyone else has holidays in the accepted places for holidays.

What I hate most about people giving up their freedoms in the US in pursuit of absolution from the climate religion is that it could lead to EU-style rule here.

I don’t care about the guns myself, but I care about the founding philosophy that leads to good, law-abiding people feeling they should be able to own one.

No one is in the US, either, though part of the problem is that people show up in the ER with non-emergency conditions.

What we need in the US is a comprehensive care act. Not like Obama’s cynical high-deductible plan that was laser-focused on screwing small businesses (“you didn’t build that – let me take it from you”).

But in the UK, you have so-called medical professionals going out on strike, like they’re kindergarten teachers. Non-emergency procedures are delayed indefinitely – and while that may not amount to an emergency, it’s a huge hit on quality of life. Canadians, frustrated by a lack of access to non-emergency procedures, routinely cross the border.

Your “no one is turned away” is simply a medical rationing process that illustrates exactly why we should do everything we can to make sure people understand what Marxism brings to a population.

TRUE story. Not meant as any slight to you Joe.

My wife worked in the billing office of a Las Vegas cardio/vascular medical group.

A Canadian flew into the US, went to a casino and laid down on the floor. Emergency rescue was called, they took him to the emergency room due to irregular heartbeat. The hospital began to run tests, noted the blockages in his heart arteries and immediatly prepped him for surgery and performed multiple bypass surgery.

It turns out the Canadian national health system had been giving him medication and told him to not “exert” himself and had put him on a waiting list for the REQUIRED heart bypass surgery. He had been on the list for MONTHS.

SO a procedure was done IMMEDIATLY in the US for a person with essentially NO insurance and would have been done for any indigent or illegal alien.

BTW the Canadian health system paid about a dime on the dollar of the cost. That is COST, not billable amount.

So what happens to Canadian “healthcare” once there is no US to run to to get the treatment you need?

AND recent articles tell of ANYONE with the funds in the UK just going to a private doctors and PAYING for their care.

So I call BS on the UK bout to totally collapse national health “care” system.

BTY, Obamacare was a REQUIREMENT to buy health insurance. It did NOT provide health care.

“Nobody is turned away from a hospital [in the UK].”

As of February, there are 7.22 million people on wait lists for treatment in the UK. That’s almost 11.5% of the population. And more than 3 million of those are waiting at least 18 weeks for treatment.

We have a similar problem in Canada, except we have a higher percentage of people waiting for treatment, and they are waiting longer.

Definitely not a ringing endorsement of socialized health care.

“What’s the US welfare bill currently at?”
The US welfare industry was put in motion by Lyndon Johnson in the 1960s. The evidence doesn’t merit a ringing endorsement of THAT policy either.

If I hit my thumb with a hammer and the thumbnail turns purple, will I get to see someone in the hospital…? If I have a paper cut? A headache? Yes …? What if I show up with a chronic illness once a week (and I know it, but I demand service/contact)?

There is, and always will be a type of Triage. And yes, some people should be turned away, as it would be more efficient if they took care of themselves appropriately.

History has a chaotic randomness to it.

Consider a world with one small and quite plausible change from our timeline, and the plausible chain of events: Austro-Hungarian diplomacy with Serbia in the early 1910s was a bit more skillful, with the result that the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand was delayed by three years.

As a result, Germany built more and better U boats, refined their poison gas weapons, and their spies uncovered British designs for tank warfare, resulting in superior German tanks being deployed by 1916.

In 1917, the Great War erupts due to the assassination of the Archduke in Mostar. In the US, recently re-elected President Wilson faces isolationist public opinion and stays out of the fray (as in our timeline in 1914).

Vastly superior German forces overrun Belgium and move deep into France. Their U-boats wreak havoc with the British fleet. The British withdraw from Normandy in a rout. By mid-1918, France and Russia surrender unconditionally. Britain sues for peace shortly thereafter.

Germany and the Austro-Hungarian Empire impose harsh terms on France and Russia in a railroad car at the Treaty of Vienna in 1918 because of Russia’s gross interference in Austro-Hungarian internal affairs and reckless French support of that aggression.

The czar is forced to abdicate and goes into exile with his family to England. A cousin of Kaiser Wilhelm becomes czar. Belgium is incorporated into Germany along with areas adjoining Elsaß and Lotringen (Alsace-Lorraine).

After the hyperinflation of 1923, Parisians need 10 trillion francs to buy a baguette. While ordinary Frenchmen were ruined, Jewish bankers with German ties were viewed as villains.

In Russia, liberalization is viewed positively by most of the population and the new czar grows in popularity as both Russia and her German ally gradually introduce reforms toward a constitutional monarchy more like Great Britain. Relations with the UK and the US warm during the prosperous 1920s.

The new Parti national-socialiste des travailleurs français (PNSTF), commonly known as the Nasos comes to power in 1933 and quickly takes action against Jews and others viewed as collaborators with the Germans.

One thing we can say is that many Germans did not agree with Hitler’s policies, but they stood silent as these policies were implemented. The same thing is happening today as the radical Democrats try to take over the nation by force, and many Americans see what is going on but they stand silent, too.

It’s not that difficult for a small band of dedicated radicals to take over a country, and force everyone else to go along with their radical plans.

Maybe concerned Americans shouldn’t be so silent when they see their freedoms being stolen away by radical Democrats.

I have become convinced that you can predict the support for these repressive states and aggressive restrictions on freedom by a population’s tolerance for and even open support of antisemitism.

You look at the biggest cheerleaders supporting the reset – the left-wing Democrats and their figurative leaders in the “the Squad” and they’re also the loudest antisemitic voices.

There’s something about the Jewish culture that infuriates those who seek dictatorial control over the population. Their response to bigotry is to teach their children to find something they can do that no one else can do, to become invaluable. Which further infuriates those who claim that individualism and exceptionalism harm the state.

It can happen here – it’s closer than ever in the US. It starts with the children. If we let them become brownshirts – for whatever reason (imagined climate Armageddon these days) – and teach them that science is not a pursuit, but something dictated by the state, we are lost.

Bear in mind that racism is meant here more like what Americans would call ethnic prejudice, not necessarily a skin color question as we’re accustomed to thinking. The Nazis regarded Jews who are mostly quite white and even Poles to be another “race”. Americans find it odd as if hatred of Jews was a matter of religion.

It definitely serves the interests of the CDU, FDP, SPD to highlight the worst elements of AfD’s supporters. The same tactics are used to stigmatize voting for Trump.

It’s not about your convenience

“Convenience” – I hate that word. It implies that something is a luxury. How about using “efficiency” or “viability”. We could even talk about “hardship”.

I remember a customer service idiot apologizing for the inconvenience. What I should have said (but didn’t) was, “No, chickiepoo, inconvenience doesn’t cover it. You just cost me a hundred dollars.”

As far as I can tell, 15 minute cities create inefficiency, hardship, and, arguably, mental illness.

.. the incidence of schizophrenia and other non-affective psychoses is not random, but occurs with greater-than-expected frequency in more densely populated urban settings.

Urbanization and its attendant population density cause a plummeting birth rate. As such, we’re facing a population collapse within the next hundred years.

Good comment, commie.

On the population collapse, it is in motion and largely unstoppable, in most places. Other than Musk and a few others, this is a topic that is not being brought up in the mainstream.

It’s easy to perceive in countries like Japan, Italy, Spain, etc., where millions of homes now deteriorate in their abandonment. Less so, China is just beginning their population dive and they can’t pull up even if they wanted to.

A case for a deflationary depression to occur is pretty straightforward.

Leftists have their own notion of what a perfect world entails.
And they are willing to do whatever it takes to force you to live in their perfect world.

From the article: ““Once we end up in a totalitarian regime and it’s fully blown, given the technological means they have at their disposal today, we’re not talking about 30 years of GDR [German Democratic Republic], 40 years of GDR. We’re not talking about 70 years of the Soviet Union. We’re talking about a very, very long time. That’s what you should fear,” Anderson says.”

I think this is the situation the United States finds itself in with the radical Democrats who are trying to impose a totalitairian regime in the United States by weaponizing the power of the federal government to attack and neutralize their political opposition.

At some point, the radical Democrats will have rigged everything in their favor, to keep themselves in power in perpetuity, if given free rein.

Let’s hope that the 2024 election, and congressional investigations will turn this around and throw the radical Democrats out of office because their delusional view of the world will enslave us all if we give them the chance. Don’t give them the chance.

By all rights, the Democrats should lose resoundingly in the next election. They have done nothing but damage this nation with their leftwing delusions.

By all rights the Democrats should have lost in the last election if not the last two. while it pains me to say it, they may very likely win the next one too. Republicans and non-liberals need to carefully look at what is at stake in the US, nominate candidates accordingly, and support those candidates. We have allowed the Democrats to define the issues, to the detriment of the country.

There’s that, plus they cheat. For example, normally, dead people don’t vote, but when they do, they vote democrat.

“By all rights the Democrats should have lost in the last election if not the last two.”

I think the 2022 elections should have been a landslide for Republicans, considering the economic conditions, but it appears that the threat to ban abortion by some Republicans is what caused voters to shy away from Republicans.

I have a neighbor who was a stanch Trump supporter but when the Supreme Court sent the abortion decision back to the States to decide, and some Republican States were threatening to ban abortion, my neighbor called me one day and said he wasn’t going to vote for Republicans and specified the abortion issue as the reason. I think he had been listening to his wife.

That’s just one ancedotal incident but from polling, it is a widespread incident. Republicans better put out a good plan on abortion for 2024, duplicating the European rules would suffice, I think, or they are going to take another hit in 2024. Outright banning abortion is not going to fly with most Americans.

IMO a main problem with the past few elections is that it is well known that the Dems play dirty. But there are the Reps sitting there following every rule and doing things they way they should be done. Only in Hollywood does the virtuous and honest combatant win over the crooked guy who cheats and hits below the belt. In real life, there are precious few Hollywood style wins. The right needs to learn this, and learn it fast.
When you are fighting for your life (and the lives of millions of people) and your opponent keeps hitting below the belt (and the “referee” – aka the judicial branch – just sits there and refuses to intervene) then you need to respond in kind.
IMO this might take Rep volunteers canvassing for votes and getting them from senile and mentally ill people, as the Dems already do. OK, we all know that people who aren’t in their right mind shouldn’t vote, but, as of now, the Dems are harvesting those very votes!
In a nutshell, when you are fighting for your life, some of the rules just have to go out the window, especially when your opponent has no intention of following them.

“throw the radical Democrats out of office

Relatively few can be removed via elections. Many thousands are in jobs from which they cannot easily be removed.

This is unfortunately very true. We saw this in 2016 in spades with the politicization of the Department of Justice and FBI. It has only gotten worse. God forbid a Republican president should fire a Democrat bureaucrat, which is what keeps those folks in their jobs.

I think Trump will fire a lot of them if he gets the chance.

Trump said he didn’t know who the good guys and the bad guys were when he first went to Washington DC, but he says he knows all the players now, and knows which ones to hire and which ones to fire.

Please, God, put Trump in the radical Democrat china shop! 🙂

Story tip:

ULEZ is being imposed in areas where the air quality is no problem at all. But what about where the air really is a problem? What about the London Underground?

“In 2019, a study by King’s College found pollution on the London Underground was around 15 times greater than at street level. The Committee for Medical Effects of Air Pollution (COMEAP) said a one hour tube ride was as harmful to health as a full day standing by roads in Central London.

While TFL pledged to address this, many tube lines including the Northern and Victoria are currently exposing commuters to 8 times above the UK safe limit for toxic particles (PM2.5).Tanya Beri, founder of CAIR London- a mobile app showing the most polluting tube routes- said: “Above ground pollution is a serious problem but we cannot ignore the high levels of PM 2.5 Underground”. CAIR measured the platform at Walthamstow Central on the Victoria Line this January, finding it was a shocking 232 mg per cubic metres – over 9 times the UK legal limit of 25 mg per cubic metre, and over 23 times the World Health Organisation’s recommended safe limit for PM 2.5 which is 10 mg per cubic metre.”

Khan’s team claims
“Tube travel provides a reduction in exposure to harmful surface traffic pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide and diesel exhaust emissions, which are not produced inside the Underground network but are found on London’s roads

Tube dust is predominantly made up of iron oxide. Iron oxide is not currently known to be a carcinogen or have other significant health impacts.”

Should we mention the vermin – mice and rats – that you see at most stations running along the track looking for snacks?

Well the notion of PM 2.5 being “toxic” and supposedly being a cause or contributer to health issues is essentially junk science, so check your premises.

Something that made its appearance decades ago but now seems forgotten is the “background check”, a seminal moment in social control. Not limited to oriental despotisms, it’s now a major feature of every pseudo-democracy as well.

May 14, 2023 6:43 am

Germany is leading the charge on demonising CO2. The difference from last century is that this is internally focused and eroding industrial capacity; the opposite of a century ago. But the same surrender to authority as the 1930s.

China has not needed to fire a shot in the takeover of the planet and succeed where Hitler failed. Every developed country has gifted China their industries and are now economically dependent on China.

It was easy, forbid all developed countries from burning coal without any constraint on Chinese industry to burn coal. The majority of people in developed countries are so far removed from productive enterprises that they are easy marks for the rubbish that comes out of the UN: China’s growing contribution buys a lot of influence.

She has one of the most succinct and accurate descriptions of how the EU operates I have come across, and how it evades democracy and operates with totalitarian control.

Great clarity of thought, and very pertinent warnings. Take the trouble to watch the whole interview.

The real health crisis is not climate related but the huge number of excess deaths from covis2019 vaccines.
