There’s always the authoritarian side, too. A side that we’re beginning to see a lot more of. Some saw it coming

Canned laughter, so corny!

“The sound engineer, who was working at CBS in the early days of television, hated that the studio audiences on the US TV channel’s shows laughed at the wrong moments, didn’t laugh at the right moments, or laughed too loudly or for too long. So he took a page from radio producers before him who had pioneered the use of recorded laughter…”

Even Seinfeld endured it.

Not everybody went to canned laughter and when they didn’t, it caused some real problems. If you can keep from laughing when you watch this, you lack a sense of humor.

Part of the problem that some scenes took several takes before the director was satisfied. They found that the audience didn’t laugh as much the 3rd or 4th time they heard the joke.

That blow up doll needs one heck of a lot more patches because a whole lot of holes have been punched in it from the work of honest skeptics in just about every realm of science and statistics which the alarmists have claimed that “climate change” touches.

That is in addition to the many self inflicted wounds caused by the failed predictions of doom that the alarmists have put forth for over 30+ years and the exposure of fake data they have been using to try and justify their claims.

OT. All of you in the effected areas keep an eye out today and especially this evening and night. I can’t remember seeing such an large area set up for severe weather for quite some time. One thing for sure is that it has been years since the spring tornado season has kicked off like it has so far this year.

Yes, the jet stream is blowing from southwest to northeast, which is optimum for the formation of tornadoes.

Notice that the jet stream is blowing into the Great Lakes region where the northern “danger zone” is located.

Reminds me how in ’76 I was crossing the country, camping along the way. One night camped somewhere in that danger zone- got a campsite behind some church. The guy running the site didn’t mention that very close by to the north was a major rail route- close to the south was the interstate highway- and close to the west was a big airport. Before going to sleep we were told there was a tornado warning for the night. So, all night we kept hearing all this traffic noise (which sound like an approaching tornado) and I kept wondering when I was going to carried away to Kansas by a tornado. 🙂

Rah, I’m just inside the Western edge of the red circle over Iowa. It’s shaping up to be an interesting afternoon/evening. The March 5th, 2022 tornado missed us by about 2 miles South and it looks like we get the ‘opportunity’ to dodge more of them… hopefully.

The map has changed and now my neck of the woods along with most all of Indiana is in the medium threat zone. Figure we will be under the gun until about 02:00 tomorrow morning.

Hopefully you made it thru as unscathed as we did. We barely got any rain at all and while the wind did tip over the basketball hoop and remove a piece of lattice from our pergola, we were pretty lucky.

Lost power for a couple of days but that’s all. I’m thankful. Lots of people all up and down the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys lost everything. Including some within 40 miles of my place.

Joe Bastardi says Tuesday we could see an outbreak that may be worse than this last one.

Can anyone explain why the far-left are so intent on destroying western civilisation?

Or are they just totally ignorant of the consequences of their actions.

For the Chiefs it is greed and power. For the Indians, it’s ideology instilled by academia generally, or by the constant race baiting and other categories the manipulating chiefs create and then constantly incite division between.

There is an excellent essay describing precisely why they want to destroy western civilization, and the fact the greens have thus far killed more people than Stalin, Hitler and Mao combined in the last century, here:

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2019/04/14/hypothesis-radical-greens-are-the-great-killers-of-our-age/

The section (8) with quotes from various leaders of this suicide cult are most instructive as to their misguided belief system.

I don’t think they want to destroy civlization- they are just deluded and self-righteous. They think they are right and all who don’t agree are morons. The same kind of behavior as religious fanatics. Watching Al Gore scream that the oceans are boiling proved it to me.

Because the so-called left consists chiefly of obligate collectivists. The West is all about individualists.

Think of the Enlightenment as a speciation event. The emergence of Homo individuus. Humans whose psychology is organized to self-recognize as an individual and to favor personally independent thought.

The parent species is Homo collectivistica.

Hc are obligate collectivists. Their psychology is set up to innately desire inclusion within a coherent collective. Group organization brought success during the murderous inter-tribal competition that dominated our evolutionary time. An enforceable group ideology (morality) ensured group cohesion. Group cohesion powered competitive success. Group members have acceptance and standing only to the extent they conform.

Lack of a pervasive group ideology makes Hc very uneasy.

Collectivists can’t abide individual freedom. It feels dangerous. So, they invent reasons why it is wrong and must be stamped out. Hence the passion for socialism. Socialism is just the vehicle Hc uses to power its battle against Hi — the other species of Homo — for a single cultural ecology.

Hi invest acceptance and standing in the individual. Social negotiation is the norm. Group cohesion comes with agreement, not enforcement. Group ideology is absent. Independent thought — always the source of creative initiative — is widespread.

It’s no surprise that science emerged only with Hi. Science absolutely requires the creative individual — free thought, free of group constraint.

Homo individuus emerged once before. We know the event as the Greek Enlightenment. The eventual Hc collectivist reaction against Hi free thought was powered by the organizational impetus provided by the newly appeared Christianity — nothing like the ideology of a jealous god to power stamping out the humans whose psychology is organized to eschew the collective.

Bands of black-robed monks (the antifa of the day) rioted through the cities of late Greco-Roman civilization. They focused on philosophers (the individual thinkers of the day) and murdered them. The murder of Hypatia is paradigmatic. By the late 5th century, the job was done. In the newly collectivized society, free thought was called heresy.

Christians have revised their religion to be far less collectivist and ideological. Most of them are of Hi psychology and have embraced the Enlightenment .

Today, collectivists employ that pejorative accusation of racist/colonialist. Mid-20th century, it was capitalist/colonialist.

All of them stalking horses for individualist.

The Demon should be man made CO2 – not climate change. It is correct that the Demon resembles Mikey Mann.

CO2 is not the boogeyman. Remove CO2, freeze and die. I want more, to be warm and toasty, sorta like the tropics. Comfy.
Mikey Mann, just another grifter and con artist. Like most of his ilk, he will end up babbling in his old age. Looking for an audience.

March 31, 2023 9:08 am

Any chance that CTM might make that into a bit of a self portrait…
As with he himself sneaking up behind with a wicked grin and a dazzlingly sharp knitting pin

Possibly while our Host-With-The-Most deflects the donkey with some sort of ‘carrot device’

Nah maybe not – they’re both far too far self-effacing and modest.

Good things come to those who wait, Michael Mann will provide the pin

PS Or make the cartoon ultra realistic, paint a blank look onto the donkey

Why I though of that: I’ve just seen him on TV, looking like he’s just fallen out of bed and wandering aimlessly as he tries to find and get into a helicopter. There was only one visible and was the biggest fuggoff chopper you ever saw.
He had a completely vacant expression, a gaping mouth and was repeatedly mumbling the words:
I’m making no comment on Trump

No need mate. Pictures speak – you just handed Donald the presidency back
