Watch: Trans Sec. Buttigieg reveals he seeks climate legacy: ‘Dealing with climate change is one of the biggest things that people like me…will be remembered for’

From Climate Depot

Biden Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg on CNN: “Climate is not nonsense. Dealing with climate change is one of the biggest things that people like me and people like him (GOP Sen. Mitch McConnell) will be remembered for after we’re gone.”

By: Marc Morano – Climate Depot

Biden Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg: “Climate is not nonsense. Dealing with climate change is one of the biggest things that people like me and people like him will be remembered for after we’re gone.”

Buttigieg pushes back on McConnell criticism of ‘woke initiatives’ – Yahoo News: Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Tuesday pushed back after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) criticized him for focusing on what the GOP leader called “woke initiatives” over the recent train derailment and chemical spill in East Palestine, Ohio. “Even amidst a catalog of crises on his watch, from this and other recent train derailments to the meltdown in air travel back during the holiday season, Secretary Buttigieg has seemed more interested in pursuing press coverage for woke initiatives and climate nonsense than in attending to basic elements of his day job,” McConnell had said on the Senate floor. …

“As for climate, climate is not nonsense. Dealing with climate change is one of the biggest things that people like me, and people like him will be remembered for after we’re gone.”

The only thing the left hates more than a straight, white engineer who doesn’t support the Church of Climageddon is a gay or black engineer who doesn’t support the Church of Climageddon.

We think we have it bad? It’s ten times worse for someone they think they’re protecting not agreeing with them. We all saw the knives come out when Nikki Haley announced. How dare she.

I’m surprised ol’ Pete got out there at all. I thought he was too busy on leave recovering from the physical travails of adopting a child.

I looked this up out of curiosity (since I don’t use Google, hopefully it wasn’t recorded for posterity and I’ll start getting all kinds of things in the mail). Apparently, it is theoretically possible, but not practical or even ever verified as having been done and certainly not just something a man can do if a baby is placed on the chest a few times. Most likely, if a man is breastfeeding, it’s with the use of tubes and a bottle. TMI, no doubt.

Not that I really care, either. If Biden has so little use for a transportation secretary that his choice can go on vacation for months at a time, then we will see dangerous train derailments and absurd policies that indicate what he really wants is for people in the flyover states to sit at home all day, too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer and let Washington spend our future on all kinds of woke garbage like unreliables, bigoted nonsense and, I guess, the aforementioned tubing.

Mr. Buttplug fits in perfectly with Jumpin’ Joe Bidet’s Cabinet of Incompetents.

But he is not a “Trans” secretary, Charles.
He is gay, and out of the closet.
He should have stayed in the closet.
Everyone should stay in the closet, in my opinion.
No one should care what other people do in their bedrooms.

Maybe we benefited from all his paid leaves?

I know the leftists love words that begin with “trans”, such as transsexual, transgender, transformation and transition, but one “trans” word they don’t like is transportation.

I don’t think that was why he was hired. As you remember he was running for president. I suspect Biden offered him a cabinet level job if he would drop out of the presidential race and endorse Biden. From the Progressive’s point of view the fact that is gay was probably just an added bonus. After the election Biden put him in Transportation probably because he figured that he couldn’t do any harm as Secretary of Transportation. Normally Transportation is just a sleepy department that pretty much runs itself.

The leader of the teacher’s union was out in front of the supreme court whining about how awful it was that people were complaining about Biden’s attempts to cancel student loans. She pointed out that the government helped people and businesses during the COVID crisis, and nobody took that to the Supreme Court.

Two VERY big differences between the two scenarios.
The COVID crisis was caused by government actions, and secondly congress passed laws authorizing those benefits.

The students decided on their own to take out these loans, nobody forced them to do so.
Biden used a presidential order to authorize the cancelling of student loans. He didn’t go to congress because he knew congress would never authorize it.

Once again the far left demands that their president be allowed to do whatever he wants with no restraints or restrictions.

Please understand that that type of utterance does not define me … I had a weak moment and even I don’t understand my mindset when I wrote that … I believe that I am more disgusted with myself than anyone else.

(There Simon, all better?)

Weingarten:

“All of a sudden, when it’s about our students, they challenge it, the corporations challenge it, the student loan lenders challenge it,” she continued. “That is not right, that is not fair, and that is what we are fighting as well when we say cancel student debt. This is about the people, and it is about the people’s future, and it is about all of your futures.”

Including the qualifier ‘conniving’ would have clarified my intent a lot better.

Well, that would be bitching as an adjective, technically. And not even in the ’80s valleyspeak sense. But it does make a big difference. The focus should be on her Orwellian leadership of an entity that happens to have “Education” in its title. My sense is that they want to keep students illiterate and constantly in a state of bewilderment and anger. Easier to control that way. Focus on the policies, not the speaker.

Many American liberals love the idea of royalty with all of its titled nobility and separation of classes. They love Camelot. They are infatuated with the British Royal Family. They would love to have America ruled by a King and want to give Biden king-like powers. They aspire to be lords and ladies amongst the peons they look down on and dream of controlling them with an iron fist. It’s all about power and control and not letting the rubes get in the way of their loving beneficence.

Climate is not nonsense. However, most of what Buttigieg says or does is.
In one sense, I really can’t blame him for saying and doing what he does. After all, virtue signalling over stuff like climate change has got to be a lot easier and much more fun than actually doing the job that he is supposed to be doing on behalf of the people. He can’t possibly be held accountable for this inevitable failure like he should have been for not being able to fill potholes in South Bend.

But we now have an entire administration stuffed with this checked box figureheads who couldn’t run a lemonade stand, much less address the real problems the nation faces.
His biggest achievement to date was renaming the “Notice to Airmen” system to “Notice for Air Missions” to be more inclusive instead of actually fixing the decades old broken-down system.

THAT is the biggest thing you will be remembered for, Mayor Pete, if not for being involved in the purposeful teardown of over a century of human progress.

If it was a random sample of a static population, Newt would be correct. But government offices and agencies are more like a sediment trap or cold trap. The slow and weak stay, the energetic move on. After a while, the agency is filled with drones incapable of moving on, stuck in the system. So it is predictable. It can only be corrected if there is a means to fire the incompetents and a reward for the folks doing the firing.

Right now there is a reward to keep the drones and hire more staff.
“I need more staff, they can’t keep up with the work.”
“I need a promotion because I supervise a larger group.”
“I need more staff because …” (see step one).

I’d love to know how mayor Pete thinks he has “dealt with climate change”….First off, there is nothing we humans can do about the climate or the weather (well, short of cloud seeding, which can work up to a point). Second, I can’t think of a single thing this guy has done at all! He’s made no moves to buttress and harden transportation infrastructure against natural disasters, and he hasn’t done diddly with regards to man-made transportation disasters.
As said, I’d love to know what exactly it is that he thinks he has done…..

There’s that old saying about the good dying with men but the evil they do living on and on. Which, in many cases, is true. Pete will be remembered for the Palestine train wreck (even though he didn’t cause it) and the air traffic control nightmare last fall, among other things. Not really evil in his case, just malfeasance and ineptitude.

California used wind and solar for 8% of its total year 2020 energy consumption according to EIA which is also pathetic given its hyped campaign since 2006 pushing unreliable renewable energy mandates costing at least 100 billion dollars in subsidies, fees and other energy cost commitments.
