Al Jazeera: We are “greening” ourselves to extinction

We are ‘greening’ ourselves to extinction

Apocalypse investors are pushing fake climate solutions on us that are making climate change worse.

More than a decade ago, investment experts James Altucher and Douglas Sease wrote a book for the Wall Street Journal called Investing in the Apocalypse. They argued that the end of the world is a profitable opportunity for those who know how to “fade the fear”, as everyone else panics. They maintained that when disaster strikes, investors should approach it with the rationale that “no matter how bad things seem, they really aren’t that bad”.

Well before the COVID-19 pandemic, they advised investing in big pharmaceutical companies as a strategy to reap dividends from global pandemics. They also encouraged putting money into renewable energy systems while ramping up oil production.

What is worse, governments and corporations have teamed up to turn the apocalypse into a money-making opportunity. They have rushed to put forward false solutions to the climate crisis: from the push to replace fuel-engine vehicles with electric ones, to so-called climate-smart agriculture, to protected areas for nature conservation and massive tree planting projects for carbon offsets.

All this trickery is called “greening” and it is designed to profit off of climate fears, not stop climate change. While guaranteeing high returns, this deception is tantamount to the genocide of the hundreds of millions of people who will perish from the effects of climate change within the next century because things are that bad.

In the neighbouring Democratic Republic of the Congo, the guards of a national park funded by the US and German governments have also engaged in violent attacks on the Indigenous Batwa people living in its territory. A 2022 report by Minority Rights has produced evidence that at least 20 members of the community have been killed and at least 15 women raped during forced eviction campaigns.

In the full article above the Al Jazeera author cites some of the horrible carbon credit schemes in Africa, claims of armed militias are allegedly being sent into forests to commit atrocities, to drive off the locals, and help prepare forests to qualify as an uninhabited woodlands suitable for producing carbon credits.

Trump hating film producer Michael Moore also suggested corporations and politicians have betrayed the green movement in 2020. From memory his documentary “Planet of the Humans” apparently started out as an attempt to expose fossil fuel suppression of green technology, but ended up accusing a number of green leaders of being dishonest and unscrupulously greedy profiteers.

The question is, will the few remaining green true believers be able to do anything to stop the planetary exploitation being committed in their name?

History suggests the answer is no.

Take biofuel. Even Greenpeace openly hates current generation biofuel these days, but they seem helpless to stop it.

Why we oppose the government’s biofuels mandate | GUEST POST

Jake Roos
3 August 2022

Jake Roos from Don’t Burn Our Future explains the damage caused by growing crops for fuel and what the Government should be doing instead.

If the government’s plans come to fruition, from 1 April 2023, our future could go up in flames. Unless we change course, a new law will require domestic fuel suppliers to add a percentage of biofuel to petrol and diesel.

Mandating biofuels might sound like great news. It sounds like our government is doing something to reduce New Zealand’s dependence on fossil fuels and reduce CO2 emissions. But sadly not: just because something has ‘bio’ in its name, doesn’t mean it’s green.

The ‘sustainable biofuels mandate’ is not green. However well intentioned, the mandate will worsen climate impacts and further increase our food and fuel costs.

Of course, many greens once supported biofuel, but thanks to some vigorous website edits you would struggle to find evidence of that these days.

What went wrong? In 2008 biofuel caused a major global starvation crisis. If you didn’t notice, that is because you live in a rich country. But the problem was very real indeed, for people who live in poor countries.

Secret report: biofuel caused food crisis

Internal World Bank study delivers blow to plant energy drive

Biofuels have forced global food prices up by 75% – far more than previously estimated – according to a confidential World Bank report obtained by the Guardian.

The damning unpublished assessment is based on the most detailed analysis of the crisis so far, carried out by an internationally-respected economist at global financial body.

The figure emphatically contradicts the US government’s claims that plant-derived fuels contribute less than 3% to food-price rises. It will add to pressure on governments in Washington and across Europe, which have turned to plant-derived fuels to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and reduce their dependence on imported oil.

Senior development sources believe the report, completed in April, has not been published to avoid embarrassing President George Bush.

“It would put the World Bank in a political hot-spot with the White House,” said one yesterday.

Despite the hideous and ongoing problems caused by biofuel, the pressure on food prices, you can still buy E10 or E15 or whatever at your local gas station – in my opinion because big money got involved, and because politicians are wary of upsetting those voters and donors who are profiting from biofuel mandates.

If greens cannot stop the biofuel juggernaut many of them once supported, they are not going to stop any of the other in my opinion fake green schemes which they helped launch. Only time and public outrage has any chance of limiting or stopping the ugly money making schemes climate activists and green idealists helped to inflict on the world, but are now powerless to stop.

how so many so called intelligent people have fallen for this massive hoax is truly a mystery – the amount of CO2 from man’s industrial and transportation activities amount to something like 1 one hundredth of 1% of the atmosphere – it is laughable that anyone could believe that that tiny amount of anything, let alone CO2 that is necessary to sustain life on earth, could control the earth’s temperature or its climate. future generations will shake their head in disbelief of how stupid this population is

I remember seeing an interview with a youg woman who escaped from North Korea. She recalled being told from the age of a toddler that the Dear Leader was starving himself so that the people could have more food. Then as a young teenager, she looked at him one day and said… but he’s fat.

The diception will endure, perhaps for generations. When people are fed garbage from the youngest age, they eat garbage and only a very small number ever think to question it, even with the evidence right before their eyes.

The answer to #1 is- -very weak- -MUCH weaker than that of the ocean and sun. And 2? None of those predictions have happened or are trending to happen- -given those Facts–HOW can one believe in this farcical theory?

Manmade carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels consists of 0.04% of green house gases and has a negligible effect on the climate. Water vapour and clouds consist of 90%, Climate is predominantly affected by the sun and nature. Net Zero Policy achieves NOTHING but poverty. We must use our fossil fuels until we have decent alternatives.

Reply to  Sean Galbally

Why do we need “alternatives” at the moment? What is wrong with carrying on using fossil fuels? We have enough coal to last for several hundred years.

(And a nit pick – you have a course of action or you have an alternative course of action. You can’t have more than one alternative so it is always in the singular, you can’t have alternatives.)

close- -but the real numbers are; the atmosphere contains .04– (four one hundredths of one % of the atmosphere) and 4% of greenhouses gases. Water vapor comprises 95% of Greenhouse Gases, CO2 4% and all the rest 1%.

The UN and many governments are taking action against the nonexistent threat of rising CO2 levels that will actually do far more harm than a slight warming trend .
Green investors will make massive profits while every one else are paying much more for essential food and electricity .
Here is an example from New Zealand . Carbon Farming . What the hell is Carbon farming
It will be hell in 30 years time when these unpruned pines start burning .
Our green infested government is encouraging overseas investors to purchase our farm land and plant it in pine trees that will never be harvested .
The theory is that our native trees will grow under the pines and eventually take over .
The theory has a gigantic flaw because as pines age they fall over and become very inflammable.
These farms are producing meat and wool earning foreign exchange for New Zealand .
There is a lot of employment on the farms and also transport ,processing and loading the ships to export overseas .
Many country districts will disappear as people move out ,stores and schools will close .
The money will come from overseas to buy the farms and plant the trees but from then on there is no economic benefit to New Zealand .
The government will issue carbon credits to the investors who will sell them overseas
The Paris Agreement on climate change Article 2 B explicitly states that countries should not take action that will restrict food production .

Remember the west taupo fires. Those un-thinned sirex infested bean poles that burned like petrol soaked rags.
This is how the current carbon planting will end up . No thinning no roads for fire suppression no fire ponds no forest grazing. Only economic use will be drug growing and poaching the wild pigs deer and goats that will take up residence
The locals looking for work will be very tempted to light the whole lot up .we will not need to wait for maturity it will happen

On the other hand: My greatest fear is carbon dioxide removal becomes economical.
Subsistence farming is likely dependent on its increase.🧵 https://twitter.com/aaronshem/status/1607698971299815424

Absolute hypocrites like all greens.
They have no idea how there food gets to the supermarkets.
If they feel that strongly about people using fossil fuel that they join protests they should go to some out back place and try growing their own food using fire wood for all heating that they have cut them selves .
The sheer hard work would soon wake them up and they would be pining for their cell phones and all the other advantages of modern living .

“They booked the flight as private individuals, not as climate protectors. You have to be able to tell them apart,” said a spokesman for the “Last Generation” action group, defending the climate protectors’ vacation trip.

Right… So… ‘Climate Protectors’ is their Day Job?

Are they totally committed to saving the planet as long as their team lead gives them a cost code to book against? Do they round off a hard work week promoting vegan lifestyle with a BBQ and hunting trip?

Also, are they actually implying that if you are charged while working you can only attend court while also working?

I would laugh except I believe these people honest do not see the issue with having their private holiday plans overrule the legal system.

There are 3 types of greens.

  1. The true greens – those that keep to themselves, the “hippies” that live quietly together, don’t protest and actually live and practice what they believe in. No protests, they live “off the grid” and are true greens. No hypocrisy.
  2. The capitalist greens. Those that tell us they are “saving the planet” whilst banking 100’s of millions of dollars in the name of “climate.”
  3. The green eco-zealots. The dedicated members of the church of climate and worshippers of their god – Gaia. Misanthropic, activists for “the cause” these are the deep greens, that wish the destruction of capitalism. Disillusioned souls they walk the earth in pain.

The following treatise was published in 2019 – thanks to wattsup. The conclusion was probably controversial to many at that time.

Do any rational observers still disagree with this allegation now?
RADICAL GREENS ARE THE GREAT KILLERS OF OUR AGE.”
If anyone still disagrees, let’s revisit the question after this Winter and Spring – after the Big Cull in Europe caused by the Climate and Covid scams. The only thing that might save them is a warm Winter – or falsified death stats.

More on the Climate scam: Please see the article below by Tom Harris and Dr. Jay Lehr – gratitude to Tom and Jay.

The Climate scare has always been a green fraud – concocted by scoundrels and believed by imbeciles – wolves stampeding the sheep. it will end badly.

“My hypothesis is that ’Radical Greens are the Great Killers of Our Age’. Here is some of the supporting evidence.”
[excerpt]

1. Introduction.
On December 6, 2018 I was informed in a letter from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) that I was “the 2019 Summit Award recipient of the Centennial Leadership Award. This is APEGA’s most prestigious award and is given to members of APEGA in recognition of continued leadership in the profession and in the community, attaining the highest distinction relating to engineering or geoscience.” That award has now been withdrawn by the Executive and the unanimous vote of APEGA Council, because of posts I wrote on wattsupwiththat.com

APEGA objected to my following posts, which were written as my personal opinions:

“In the 20th Century, socialists Stalin, Hitler and Mao caused the deaths of over 200 million people, mostly their own citizens. Lesser killers like Pol Pot and the many tin-pot dictators of South America and Africa killed and destroyed the lives of many more.
Modern Green Death probably started with the 1972-2002 effective ban of DDT, which caused global deaths from malaria to increase from about 1 million to almost two million per year. Most of these deaths were children under five in sub-Saharan Africa – just babies for Christ’s sake!”
