Google let Daily Wire advertise on ‘climate change is a hoax’ searches
Exclusive: Data shared by Center for Countering Digital Hate shows Ben Shapiro’s site bought ads on climate crisis denial search terms

A media outlet founded by conservative influencer Ben Shapiro paid Googleto advertise on search pages questioning whether the climate crisis is real, according to new research from a disinformation watchdog group.
“Google’s hypocrisy knows no bounds,” said Imran Ahmed, CEO of the US and UK-based Center for Countering Digital Hate, which provided its research exclusively to the Guardian. “They’re actually selling the right to climate deniers to spread disinformation.”
Last July, the Daily Wire paid Google to promote its story “Wind Turbines Not Only Shred Birds But Are Piling Up In Landfills” anytime someone searched “the real truth about wind turbines”.

The full video of that poor eagle;
It is not difficult to find videos of turbines smashing birds, or horrible stories – like this story of a rare bird which returned to the UK after 22 years without a sighting, only to be killed shortly after arrival in front of 40 bird watchers.
Birdwatchers see rare bird killed by wind turbine
A travelling group of bird watchers witnessed a rare bird die after flying into a community wind turbine.

The White-throated Needletail – the world’s fastest flying bird – was thousand of miles off course after turning up at Tarbert on the Isle of Harris.
It was first spotted by two bird spotters from Northumberland on Monday.
There has not been a sighting of the species in Britain since 1991 when a single bird was seen four times – in Kent, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and finally Shetland.
Now 22 years later another White-throated Needletail turned up in the UK.
But after over 80 twitches flocked to Harris – with scores more on their way – the bird flew into a wind turbine at Tarbert, watched by about 40 people.

Bear in mind people have to be in exactly the right place at the right time to see such tragedies, so it stands to reason stories of people witnessing death by wind turbine must represent only a small fraction of the total death toll.
The problem is worse than videos and anecdotal stories of tragic individual deaths. The following is a US Geological Survey scientist discussing the potential death of hundreds of thousands of bats every year. The author Paul Cryan is a US Government Research Biologist at the Fort Collins Science Center.
WIND TURBINES AS LANDSCAPE IMPEDIMENTS TO THE MIGRATORY CONNECTIVITY OF BATS
PAUL M. CRYAN∗
Unprecedented numbers of migratory bats are found dead beneath industrial-scale wind turbines during late summer and autumn in both North America and Europe. Prior to the wide-scale deployment of wind turbines, fatal collisions of migratory bats with anthropogenic structures were rarely reported and likely occurred very infrequently. There are no other well-documented threats to populations of migratory tree bats that cause mortality of similar magnitude to that observed at wind turbines. Just three migratory species comprise the vast majority of bat kills at turbines in North America and there are indications that turbines may actually attract migrating individuals toward their blades. Although fatality of certain migratory species is consistent in occurrence across large geographic regions, fatality rates differ across sites for reasons mostly unknown. Cumulative fatality for turbines in North America might already range into the hundreds of thousands of bats per year. Research into the causes of bat fatalities at wind turbines can ascertain the scale of the problem and help identify solutions. None of the migratory bats known to be most affected by wind turbines are protected by conservation laws, nor is there a legal mandate driving research into the problem or implementation of potential solutions.

There is no known way to deter eagles from approaching wind turbines.
As an amateur pilot I’ve had to change course to avoid eagles many times on takeoff or landing, or even occasionally when cruising thousands of feet above the ground. Not once have I ever seen an eagle attempt to evade my airplane, when the eagle is in the air.
Many species such as Ibises do take evasive action when confronted by something flying towards them, though they don’t always take the right evasive action. But eagles are the top of the food chain. Millions of years of evolution has taught eagles that they have nothing to fear when they are in the air. From what I have personally witnessed, I am firmly convinced Eagles are incapable of learning to avoid wind turbines, their brains are simply incapable of perceiving the wind turbine as a threat.
Is renewable energy worth mass deaths of protected birds, and the potential destruction of entire species?
That is not my decision to make, but it is a conversation society should be allowed to have, via an unfettered and open exchange of ideas.
Attempts by greens to suppress, demonetise or otherwise impede legitimate conversations about climate change and government policy responses, in my opinion are nothing short of a brazen attack on freedom and democracy, and should be treated with the utter contempt they deserve.
Are Greens upset that alternative views are being expressed? It’s easy to assume that is the case because Greens know they cannot defend their own ideas. It’s easy to see this as a fear of debate; Green insecurity.
But notice that the complaint is about monetisation.
Greens are actually concerned about someone else getting their nose in the trough. To a Green it’s all about the money.
And Greens believe in a zero-sum game, as a matter of principle.
Scratch a green, uncover a brownshirt.
They are the fascists they proclaim to be against
Green on the outside, Communist Red on the inside.
From environmentalists, they have become evil ideologues.
A dozen years ago this particular Green was attacked in the trade journal of his profession for daring to suggest that the first item on the agenda of the working party established to examine the effects of climate change should be to check the validity of the data used and the assumptions made by “climate scientist” in their models.
Please note not all Greens are Green.
“Center for countering digital hate”. Two thoughts.
No different than the government sponsored censorship Musk has exposed at Twitter concerning Hunter’s laptop and a host of other issues that upset Dems.
Yes. Every sword has two edges and censorship plays an important piece along side of the propaganda narrative.
Let’s create the “Center for Countering the “Center for Countering Digital Hate””. After a few times back and forth, this could really start to be fun. “The Center for Countering the Center for Countering the Center for Countering the Center for…”
Let’s create the “Center for Countering the “Center for Countering Digital Hate””.
I hate that name.
Hate is a basic human response. It is powerful, it can be very destructive.
But often it is a necessary corrective and can be strongly positive.
Anyone who wants to stop “hate” is an idiot.
Love is also a basic human emotion. Often extremely positive and rewarding.
But also at times dangerous and destructive. Look around you. You will know people who stuffed up their lives (and the object of that love) with an ill advised ‘love’ affair.
Only oops if your hate is digital, Jeff. It’s perfectly fine if it’s analog.
“Center for criminal interference (and obstruction)”
The greens push windmills as an alternative to nukes, and lie consistently about the cost/benefits ratio of each.
Intermittency and bird/bat killing are insoluble with windmills, while waste disposal is mostly created by Jimmy Carter’s delusion that mandating a once-through fuel cycle would inhibit proliferation of weapons.
Most of the issues are due to government policy.
Heresy begets excommunication.
“Center for Countering Digital Hate”
Any dissent or disagreement is ‘hate speech’ And in this religion there is no forgiveness or redemption
They want to set themselves up as the ones who define “hate speech”
But we don’t accept their definitions.
Radicals trying to stop “hate speech” are really trying to stop “free speech”.
Those who don’t have an argument are the ones who try to stop free speech, because free speech exposes the radicals and their radical theories for the harm they bring, and the radicals don’t like that, so they want to shut you up by proclaiming themselves a “disinformation watchdog group”. Those who perpetrate disinformation presume to be the judge of it.
The problem they have is free speech still exists.
The problem free people have is the radicals are still trying to take our free speech away. This “disinformation watchdog group” is just one of many.
The same goes for labeling a crime a “hate crime”.
A criminal act against a person or group is a criminal act and should be prosecuted.
The same act isn’t worse because someone decided it was a “hate crime”.
Who gets to define it?
Is there such a thing as a “love crime”? (Maybe “peaceful protest” fall in that category.)
I always detested the “hate crime” narrative.
Most crimes, especially those involving violence, have hate as a salient component.
We demand diversity!
Oh diversity of thought? That’s not what we meant you heathen.
And “inclusion” means no white people.
The Greens are no longer green. They are just socialists hell bent on destroying society.
A true conservative UK government would send all state forces to investigate “Center for Countering Digital Hate” and possibly disband the group as if it was a Daesh agency.
Sadly, we’ve not had a true conservative UK government since Thatcher
The “fact checkers” or censors are already at work at The Times in London.
They recently ran a story on what Exxon knew in 1982. When I pointed out that several publications about that time had said that many scientists predicted a new ice age the comment was deleted and I was banned.
A few hours of research and I found a front page item from The Times itself dated 1st December 1976.
“Scientists discover what caused ice ages and forecast 20,000 cool years ahead”
You can see a copy of the whole front page at the very bottom of this site Just Stop Net Zero https://www.juststopnetzero.com/
There is also a screenshot from the NASA website in 2010 saying something similar.
I used to read The Times, but today it is little better than The Grauniad.
Perhaps its time to demonetize the Guardian, a champion of false and misinformation.
Misinformation assumes they might just be mistaken. No, they’re engaging in full-on disinformation.
Let’s not beat about the bush.
Clutch at your pearls, but I HATE the Grauniad, almost all of those who write it and a fair proportion of those who read it.
The Guardian is funded by the same “philanthropists” as the Centre for Countering Digital Hate
The Guardian couldn’t survive on its own revenue.
A once proud, good newspaper (The Manchester Guardian), now has to resort to begging like a street urchin
When The Guardian moved its HQ to London and dropped Manchester from its title was when the rot started to set in but it has also deteriorated even more in the last 25 years.
I wonder how much money from public employee retirement funds are invested
into wind and solar? Calpers and others through the usual paths they
run their money through. Anyone here know? I bet it would be
hard to see exactly.how much and thru what channels.
BTW I haven’t seen a golden
eagle in years. I used to see them regularly on the ranch.
A quick google answered my question—–>
“CalPERS reported it has more than $2 billion invested in renewable or green energy investments on a prorated basis.”
my suspicions confirmed..
As someone who has posted several times here on WATTS about wind turbine bird kills, I wonder how many of these CAGW Looney Idiots have actually walked along a line of the turbines (before the clean-up crew shows up)? Either they have not or they are delusional idiots, believing that any sacrifice to save the planet is appropriate. A common factor I observed is that the smell of dead birds (and bats and insects?) got the attention of buzzards, some of whom paid the price.
Re wind turbines and insects,Michael Shellenberger, in Apocalypse Never, quotes a study by a German scientist, Dr Franz Trieb of the Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics
“Wind- rich migration trails used by insects for millions of years are increasingly seamed by windfarms” and ” a rough but conservative estimate of the impact on flying insects in Germany” is a “loss of about 1.2 trillion insects of different species per year” which “could be relevant for population stability” (page 195).
When Shellenberger contacted Dr Trieb to talk about the study he replied “Unfortunately, I cannot give any interviews on that topic”. Shellenberger then approached the Institute and was told “Please accept that neither DLR nor Dr Trieb are available for further comment on this topic” (page 196)
“As an amateur pilot I’ve had to change course to avoid eagles many times on takeoff or landing, or even occasionally when cruising thousands of feet above the ground.”
At 1000 to 3000 ft AGL around here, I have encountered dozens of hawks, which seem to evade skillfully. We have only a few eagles here in Central New York. Lots of geese, turkey vultures, hawks to be careful to see and avoid. But in agreement with your sense of it, the one bird strike of significance on our runway was a bald eagle, which put quite a dent in the wing of the local charter operation’s Cessna Citation II, on which I was an occasional passenger at the time, probably twenty years ago. Now, about 5 miles from the airport there is a wind farm about to be built. Twenty-five turbines of the 4 MW class. I shudder to think of the coming raptor kill problem.
The airfield I flew out of for a while, the local government built a huge domestic trash dump next to the airfield, so there were plenty of opportunities to witness bird behaviour.
Google has been campaigning for climate alarmist propaganda for decades. This prior and other WUWT articles chronicle this political propaganda reality.
Google has dropped it’s meme of “Do No Evil”, so its campaign for proper thinking has also been corrupted.
They are all rich leftists at Google and the social media outlets and News Media and they are trying to manipulate the rest of us into their way of thinking using their money and influence.
Unfortunately, their way of thinking is delusional and will lead us down the Road to Ruin if we are stupid enough to follow along.
A little bit of good news for a change: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VHkdIRT6V1k
The “Centre for Countering Digital Hate” is the group that got Electroverse demonetized for not following climate diktats.
It struck me as odd that such a weird little group got the immediate attention of google/Facebook/et al, so I tried to look into who was funding them. They only disclose they get money from “philanthropic trusts”, without naming any. There’s got to be a lot of money involved as the group has expanded from UK into the US recently. Find out who their Sugar Daddy is and you’ll find out what this group is actually trying to do.
This organisation has connections to a faction of the British Labour party and likely other members of the British establishment – https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/center-for-countering-digital-hate/
Very likely this organisation is setting itself in a similar manner to what happened in the US when they buried the Hunter Biden story. They do have to establish their bonafides first by picking on low hanging fruit. Effectively their function is control and protect the political narrative of the day.
More on its primary activist.
Soro’s Tides Foundation funds all these groups. It’s not a secret, its policy.
Hopefully more turbines just fall over. Are we to understand we know everything about climate, but can’t figure out why turbines are just falling over? lol.
Google should be working to demonetise greens.
I disagree, greens have a right to be heard. If they were silenced, how would we expose their cruelty, ugliness, viciousness and deceptions?
Google hates it when they are exposed…there is no hate like Googly Hate.
“Is renewable energy worth mass deaths of protected birds, and the potential destruction of entire species?”
Simple answer: NO.
The hypocrisy of the green energy movement that is pushing wind and solar is staggering. Especially when one takes into account all the toxic waste and non-recyclable materials they leave behind, the extremely one-sided nature of current renewable energy discourse in government and the mass media demonstrates what happens when the wrong people have too much political clout and get way too much attention.
On the upside, the first small modular nuclear reactor design has been given license approval.

It’s the left wing way. First demonize those who disagree with them. Then come the “re-education” camps. Finally it’s the concentration camps.
The monsters being created and that exist inside the heads of others are capable of things vastly worse than anything climate can do
Because they project themselves onto others and it becomes a self sustaining, positive-feedback, spiral of destruction.
e.g. witches and witch hunting
Occasioned more often than not by chemically deranged minds.
i.e. By folks who were starving
I’m not going to give Guardian any clicks. Did they actually demonstrate how the Daily Wire’s ad was misinformation? If not, they are the ones engaging in disinformation.
Not for nothing did Congress exempt wind farms from the Endangered Species Act.
From the article: “The full video of that poor eagle”
If watching that video doesn’t make you angry and cause you to hate windmills, then nothing will.
Windmills are unnecessary for human survival. Which makes building them even more of a crime.
God Damn the Windmill builders.
What else would you expect from slime like The Guardian??
The White-throated Needletail – the world’s fastest flying bird – was thousand of miles off course after turning up at Tarbert on the Isle of Harris.
Minor Note: This event did occur. The video shows an eagle being struck. 2 different events were mashed together- quite like the unfortunate birds. Needletails are swifts, small agile birds eating insects in flight. Eagles large predators.
I will point out that either the people are shitty with cameras or the video has an intentionally shitty angle to avoid having to match synthesized lighting. The framerate is horrifically bad for bird-watchers.
Let’s do a deal…. /sarc
