A taste for disaster porn of the climate change genre is depressing.

For $7.99, you can have your own rubber-headed mallet and set your colleagues free.

I never knew how much I needed a rubber mallet until I bought one. Actually, I bought two, a 1-pound ans a 2-pounder for when I need a little extra oomph.

The “Dilbert” cartoon and its characters and scenarios did an excellent job of portraying the cubicle farm I worked in for many years. However, my managers were, with few exceptions,t brilliant, and one was a former winner of the state beauty contest for her state in the Miss America contest. Kristi Noem reminds me a lot of her, both in looks and in brains.

He became a Never-Trumper over some of Trump’s recent statements and he is a STAUNCH Pro-Vaxxer but posted a public opinion piece recently admitting that “The Anti-Vaxxers Won.” He needs to heed that advice.

Wow, politifact’s fact check seemed dangerously unobjective. I think both Clinton (“definition of is”) and Trump (“fake news”) were thinking. The concepts merge with Artificial Intelligence discussion. What is truth? Who decides when we disagree?

… a public opinion piece recently admitting that “The Anti-Vaxxers Won.”

Yesterday in my random Internet browing I came across an article on the IQfy website titled “They knew: why didn’t the unvaccinated do more to warn us?” (direct link).
That article included the following :

While well intending citizens lined up, did the right thing, and received their COVID19 vaccinations — now seeming to do more harm than good — their unvaccinated friends stood by and let them do it. Some of them said too little. Some said nothing at all.

Even though they knew what we didn’t.

Our blood is now on their hands.

Those are strong words. But the unvaccinated had access to important information about the potential side effects of vaccines. They knew about the risks of severe allergic reactions, blood clots, and other serious health complications. They knew that vaccines did not immunize us. They knew it wasn’t effective, and that they can cause more harm than good.

Before the comments … definitely worth taking the time to read through, but the way ! … were closed due to posters failing “to write positive messages of solidarity” enough, there was considerable confusion as to whether the article was :

  1. being serious
  2. satire
  3. gaslighting
  4. some combination of the above

The sheer anger, however, was palpable.

The article concluded with :

It is time for the unvaccinated to take responsibility for their actions and to work with the rest of us to find a solution to this crisis. We cannot afford to let their selfishness and lack of action continue to harm our communities. It is time for the unvaccinated to step up and do the right thing.

The unvaccinated should by any moral measuring stick have done more to warn about the potential risks — to help us make informed decisions about our health. And they must now ask us for our forgiveness.

And, hand to heart, we may just give it to them.

Because we are good people. We took those injections because it was the right thing to do — until it wasn’t.

– – – – –

I can foresee similar “requests” for us sceptics to “ask for forgiveness” in the (near ?) future when it comes to the subject of “climate change / saving the planet”.

“But you didn’t try hard enough to warn us it was all a scam !”

“It doesn’t matter how many of you lost ‘credibility’ (Bjorn Lomborg, Willie Soon, Judith Curry, …) or even your jobs (Peter Ridd, …) trying to warn us, it wasn’t enough !”

“It’s your fault that ***I** am a gullible idiot !”

Very interesting post.

I am going to believe this is satire. I can’t accept that people losing their jobs, their business, being denied an education, or being denied life saving medical procedures is insufficient warning for anyone.

I accept that I got the jabs early due to my age, but I will get no more mRNA shots. Fool me once…

Older, diabetic and never had the shot BUT, I was already retired.

Those who lost their jobs standing up for themselves ALL need their back pay, positions restored and EVERY shareholder of every corporation who fired them must be held responsible for those funds after taking 500% of the board members and chief executives’ salaries.

Every political governmental person similarly held financially responsible. Especially in the Pentagon.

The cartoon is funny, but in my country it is required by law to eliminate the equivalent emissions of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia combined within 6 years and 11 months from now. This represents the total elimination of the emissions in all sectors from half the population of Canada. This is real, and it’s happening, legislated by our parliament.

Oh it is!
Unfortunately only the southern US border welcomes unlimited and unscreened immigration. Your northern one discourages the permanent entry into the US of well-educated, affluent, English-speaking people. Government priorities, I guess?

Salute!

Besides seasonable weather in north half of state that has all four seasons, we pay as we go for expenses with lottsa help from tourists. But there are many areas in Florida that do not depend on tourist taxes for government services.

However, if you “migrate” to Florida, then please abandon your politics from where you escaped and adopt ours.

The US needs to buy all of Canada, and allow Canadians to become US “occupants”, BUT they and their offspring for 3 generations would not be allowed to become full citizens or vote in any elections, federal, state or local.

All those funds the left wants to use for “reparations” for every person of African decent, as long as they are dark skinned, even if they didn’t get to the US until last year, could pay for that.

King Canute: With the greatest vigor he commanded that his chair should be set on the shore, when the tide began to rise. And then he spoke to the rising sea saying “You are part of my dominion, and the ground that I am seated upon is mine, nor has anyone disobeyed my orders with impunity. Therefore, I order you not to rise onto my land, nor to wet the clothes or body of your Lord.” But the sea carried on rising as usual without any reverence for his person, and soaked his feet and legs. Then he moving away said: “All the inhabitants of the world should know that the power of kings is vain and trivial, and that none is worthy of the name of king but He whose command the heaven, earth and sea obey by eternal laws”.

the vast territory of Nunavut, with a population <40,000, is almost completely separate from the politics of Ottawa. I have listed provinces under direct influence of Ottawa. The territories operate under different legal constructs compared to the provinces.

The song is about a student named Maxwell Edison who commits murders with a hammer, with the dark lyrics disguised by an upbeat sound. McCartney described the song as symbolic of the downfalls of life, being “my analogy for when something goes wrong out of the blue, as it so often does”. (Wikipedia)

Prophetic.
