BANNED BY YOUTUBE – Climate Goals vs. Human Well-Being: A LIVE Discussion with Dr. Judith Curry

YouTube gave Heartland’s channel a “strike” for a video posted TWO YEARS AGO just 90 minutes before this show was going live. That made it so this could not stream on YouTube. Please go to Rumble or FB at the links below to watch the video. RUMBLE:

Original description

The estimable Dr. Judith Curry joins The Heartland Institute’s Anthony Watts, H. Sterling Burnett, and Linnea Lueken to discuss “Climate Goals vs. Human Well-Being” on the next episode of Climate Change Roundtable.

You don’t want to miss your opportunity to listen to this GIANT of the climate science community talk about what is really happening to the climate, and why the alarmism fueling the “solutions” to climate change are going to make life worse for everyone on the planet.

If you join the live-stream while it’s happening, you will get to ask Dr. Curry your questions, and also have your comments put on the screen.

“When did clean-burning, cheap, and abundant natural gas become the equivalent to dirty coal? How did prized natural gas that had granted America’s wishes of energy self-sufficiency, reduced pollution, and inexpensive electricity become almost overnight a pariah fuel whose extraction was a war against nature? Which lawmakers, which laws, which votes of the people declared natural gas development and pipelines near criminal? “

A while ago, natural gas was the reason that the USA was the only country actually reducing CO2 emissions. This was so embarrassing that of course the PCC (Politically Correct Crowd) have been desperate to ban it.

So called dirty coal, hasn’t been dirty for many decades.
Yet there are people who still push that myth.

“So called dirty coal, hasn’t been dirty for many decades.”
But there is no such thing as clean coal either….

The “factcheck” article mentions CO2 as a pollutant, BS, the second mentions that when Duke energy did what the government wanted, and got subsidies to do so, and the NOx emissions WENT UP!

So as always, either the problem was a made up problem, CO2 as a pollutant, or the liberal FIX made it worse.

Different day, same liberal BS.

Yes funny isn’t it how “some” here are fine with subsidises for the fossil fuel industry (to lower NOx from coal burning) but how dare the EV industry have their hand out?

Where in Drake’s response does he say he’s “fine with subsidises for the fossil fuel industry” ?

(A clue: he doesn’t. Funny isn’t it that you chose to make up a response, and then whinge when others don’t take you seriously)

So come on Mr “Make It Up Mark” let’s see a credible article that says burning coal is clean (not dirty)? Or is this just another of your “make a statement then run away” comments?

Isn’t it funny how I get negative comments, but no one can find any reference for clean coal? I take it from that people are angry they can’t counter me.

“Climate Goals” ? There is an underlying assumption that CO2 concentration increases from human endeavors will change the climate. This assertion has no empirical support.

Empirical support takes a back seat to the ”vibe” these days. All scientists who know this and say nothing are a pack of self-interested bastards.

Yeah, thank you Dr Curry.

Personal honor is something few exhibit in the public, and to walk away from the “hallowed halls” of academia earns my praise and admiration. Same goes for the Pielke family.

The percentage of real scientists who do not agree with the establishment and do not speak out about this are complicit.

Apparently YouTube has BANNED the video. The link above doesn’t work. But the discussion can be viewed on Rumble:

I wonder how much the FBI is paying Youtube and Facebook to censor Americans?

My bet is the federal government has been paying all these social media outfits to toe the leftwing line and censor any contrarians.

G’Day Tom,

“…  how much the FBI is paying …”

No money needed, just the old fashioned, “Nice little business you have here. Be a real shame if something happened to it.”

There’s the intimidation factor, for sure. But it has already been established that the FBI paid Twitter over $3 million, so if they did that, then it’s a pretty good bet they were doing that with all the social media outfits.

The Deep State Cabal is working hard to eliminate any opposition.

It’s worse that we thought.

And TRUMP! did not move fast enough when he had the chance.

All he had to do was veto and debt cap extension and then and the chief executive, pick what gets funded.

Reagan made the same mistake.

G’Day again Tom,

“$3 million”

In this day and age, that probably went straight into the receptionists “petty cash” box.

To me, and probably you too, $3 million is a lot of money. To the government, it’s ‘chump change’.

I’d be curius to learn what exactly youtube labelled as “misinformation” in that 2year old video. Obviously you could critize a lot of stuff for being wrong, just wonder what oversteps the “line”..

Great program, always love hearing from Dr. Curry. Google/YT/FB…such a disgrace. This blatant trampling of 1st amendment rights has got to end (but I know it won’t). Perhaps what we need to do is create an official religion of CAGW Skepticism. Then, should these biased companies deny us services we can claim that they are violating the civil rights act. I figure the CAGW crowd is a religion, why can’t we have one. Do I need a sarc tag here?

In all seriousness, this increasing censorship should scare everyone, even those who currently don’t like the messages that are being blocked. It sets a terrible precedence and is a very slippery slope. While we may be deeply politically divided as a country, there are certain foundational principles so critical to the functioning of a free society, that they should be almost universally supported (aside from the radical fringes) and free speech is at the top of that list. Unfortunately, we have been largely poisoned by politics to the point where the ends always seem to justify the means. I just hope that those who’s messages are not currently considered “misinformation” wake up before they realize that this is a double edged sword, and it won’t be long until they find themselves on the other side of the equation. If not, then I do fear that we are doomed as a society and believe this will get us long before a forced energy transition to impoverishment. Happy New Year!

More class action lawsuits against Google needed. Constitutional free speech being stomped on by Google censors. The censors will accuse people of “Hate” speech if your polititical opinions are slightly to the right…Google hates it when your speech disagrees with their speech.

What’s funny is that these people are so far removed from reality they believe this kind of suppression will stop what is the actual truth making it’s way to the surface. History shows it won’t!

They have effectively moved the needle on the DEM/REP voting to put the Dems in charge and then keep the Reps. from obtaining the majority in the Senate in the US over the last 3 election cycles. I believe, with no proof, just an opinion, that the effect of the MSM and twitter, FB UT, etc. probably tilted the vote 3 to 5 percent.

They have been VERY successful in their conspiracies with the deep state and the Dem party. Notice I used the criminal law term conspiracy, not the non-criminal “collusion” that the deep state used against TRUMP!

So google continuously ignores MY preferences to push the leftist media.

The IPCC and UNFCCC post modern science establishment’s “consensus” is that a modelled future increase in CO2 levels is the main threat to human civilization. This is an egregious error of scientific judgement.Their sample size N (age range ) is too small. A Millennial Solar ” Activity” Peak in 1991  correlates with the Millennial Temperature Peak at 2003/4 with a 12/13 year delay because of the thermal inertia of the oceans. Earth has now entered a general cooling trend which will last for the next 700+/- years.
The Millennial Temperature Cycle Peak.
Latest Data (1)
Global   Temp Data 2003/12 Anomaly +0.26 : 2022/12 Anomaly +0.05 Net cooling for 19 years
NH     Temp Data 2004/01 Anomaly +0.37 :  2022/12 Anomaly +0.21 Net cooling for 19 years
SH      Temp Data 2003/11 Anomaly +0.21:  2022/12 Anomaly  -0.03 Net cooling for 19 years
Tropics  Temp Data 2004/01 Anomaly +0.22 : 2022/12 Anomaly  -0.35  Net cooling for 19 years.
USA 48  Temp Data 2004/03 Anomaly +1.32 : 2022/12 Anomaly – 0.21 Net cooling for 19 years.
Australia  Temp Data 2004/02 Anomaly +0.80 : 2022/12 Anomaly – 0.38 Net cooling for 19 years
Earth’s climate is the result of resonances and beats between the phases of natural cyclic processes of varying wavelengths and amplitudes. At all scales, including the scale of the solar planetary system, sub-sets of oscillating systems develop synchronous behaviors which then produce changing patterns of periodicities in time and space in the emergent temperature data. The periodicities pertinent to current estimates of future global temperature change fall into two main categories:
a) The orbital long wave Milankovitch eccentricity, obliquity and precession cycles. These control the glacial and interglacial periodicities and the amplitudes of the corresponding global temperature cycles.
b)  Solar activity cycles with multi-millennial, millennial, centennial and decadal time scales.
The most prominent solar activity and temperature cycles  are : Schwab-11+/-years ; Hale-22 +/-years ; 3 x the Jupiter/Saturn lap cycle 60 years +/- :; Gleissberg 88+/- ; de Vries – 210 years+/-; Millennial- 960-1020 +/-. (2)
The Oulu Galactic Ray Count is used in this Post as the “solar activity ” proxy which integrates changes in Solar Magnetic field strength, Total Solar Insolation , Extreme Ultra Violet radiation, Interplanetary Magnetic Field strength, Solar Wind density and velocity, Coronal Mass Ejections, proton events, ozone levels and the geomagnetic Bz sign. Changes in the GCR neutron count proxy source causes concomitant modulations in cloud cover and thus albedo. (Iris effect)
 CO2 -Temperature and Climate.

The whole COP Net Zero meme is founded on the flawed assumptions and algorithms which produced the IPCC- UNFCCC model forecasts of coming dangerous temperature increases.
The “consensus” IPCC models make the fundamental error of ignoring the long- term decline in solar activity and temperature following the Millennial Solar Activity Turning Point and activity peak which was reached in 1990/91 as shown in Figure 1 below
The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is .058% by weight.  That is one 1,720th of the whole. It is inconceivable thermodynamically that such a tiny tail could wag so big a dog. (13)
Stallinga 2020 (14) concludes: ” The atmosphere is close to thermodynamic equilibrium and based on that we……… find that the alleged greenhouse effect cannot explain the empirical data—orders of magnitude are missing. ……Henry’s Law—outgassing of oceans—easily can explain all observed phenomena.” CO2 levels follow temperature changes. CO2 is the dependent variable and there is no calculable consistent relationship between the two. The uncertainties and wide range of out-comes of model calculations of climate radiative forcing (RF) arise from the improbable basic assumption that anthropogenic CO2 is the major controller of global temperatures.
Miskolczi 2014 (15) in “The greenhouse effect and the Infrared Radiative Structure of the Earth’s Atmosphere “says “The stability and natural fluctuations of the global average surface temperature of the heterogeneous system are ultimately determined by the phase changes of water.”
Also See  AleksandrZhitomirskiy2022 Absorption of heat and the greenhouse gas effect.  (16)  which says:
“The molar heat capacities of the main greenhouse and non-greenhouse gases are of the same order of magnitude. Given the low concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, their contribution to temperature change is below the measurement error. It seems that the role of various gases in the absorption of heat by the atmosphere is determined not by the ability of the gas to absorb infrared radiation, but by its heat capacity and concentration. ”

Zaichun Zhul et al 2016 (17) in Greening of the Earth and its drivers report “a persistent and widespread increase of growing season integrated Leaf Area Index (greening) over 25% to 50% of the global vegetated area from 1982 – 2009. ………. C02 fertilization effects explain 70% of the observed greening trend.”
Policies which limit CO2 emissions or even worse sequester CO2 in quixotic CCS green-washing schemes would decrease agricultural food production and are antithetical to the goals of feeding the increasing population and bringing people out of poverty.
In summary, the Milankivitch and the Millennial solar activity Millennial cycles are the predominant climate controllers of climate .The IPCC models are a useless waste of time and money. The effect of anthropogenic CO2 on climate is immeasurably small.
For the correlations between Solar Activity and Temperature see Figs 1,2,3 at
