Climate change to accelerate
‘For forty years the rainbow will not be seen. For forty years it will be seen every day.
‘The dry earth will grow more parched, and there will be great floods when it is seen.’
This particular prophecy appears quite apt given the current state of the climate.
Europe saw its worst drought in 500 years in 2022, while the Horn of Africa is currently experiencing the longest and most severe drought on record, threatening millions of people with starvation.
There were also catastrophic floods in Pakistan between June and October, killing more than 1,700 people and causing more than £14billion worth of damage.
If Nostradamus’s prediction is to be believed, next year could see even worse climate disasters – although one hopes nothing that will last for 40 years.

Nostradamus does share one important attribute with alarmist climate scientists and their computer models. No matter how many times they are wrong, no matter how wrong they are, people keep coming back for more.
If only Nostradamus had a computer, maybe his climate model predictions could have been included in the next IPCC report.

I hope Nostradamus is incorrect. I would hate to have 40 years pass between 2023 & 2024. I would hate for it to even seem to last 40 years, what a loooooong dull hear that would be.

I predict that in the future, everyone dies. I also predict that in 2023 there will be an explosion, a fire, a flood, a hurricane, a tornado and a political scandal. Everybody get their solar lights ready!

Makes you wish for the days when people said things like “The badgers are taking in a lot of leaves. It’s going to be a cold winter.”

Huh, that was long time ago, and ever since every self-respecting TV astrologer, sorry weatherman, started with ‘we give our’ (nostra damus) long term weather forecast.
Sadly there here is nothing new about flooding in Pakistan or the rest of SE Asia for that matter.
SE Asia suffered from far worse flooding and loss of life during the 1970’s. With the Bangladesh floods of 1974 killing 28,700 and the 1975 Banqiao dam failure in China (caused by the intense rain from Typhoon Nina) killing 229,000.
Not Typhoon Nina. Dams should be designed to weather a 1 in 10,000 year event.

He wasn’t really making predictions, he was suggesting how, in the broadest sense, how to behave. How to look after the place.
As such, he was saying not to make Dry Places – because they will be wet (suffer flash floods) because its the flood that sticks on folks’ memory, not the usual and seemingly relentless dry.
Likewise he was saying not to make Hot Places because they are actually cold places (they have no stored energy)

Everybody knows that the Sahara is A Hot Place. Only witches and other people who eat Ergot would assert otherwise.
Sugar eaters and drunks know better, their own Magical Thinking keeps their science straight.

Nostradamus can’t be any worse than the climate models. I’ve always noticed that people say Nostradamus predicted something AFTER the event. Never before.
Same with climate science.
I remember reading a out the terrible african droughts since I was a kid 40 odd years ago. Pictures of kids with swollen bellies and flies i their eyes. Droughts, floods, monsoons…. I’m guessing it’s all been fairly predictable problems to predict for the past 400 years.

For all we know, this is a prophecy about irrigation. Anyone who’s seen sprinklers in the sunlight has seen the prism effect. In a desert, with no rain and a lot of sunshine sunshine, this could make sense. But then, lake Powell and Lake Mead are lower, so we’re using too much water and you can still panic (although they have risen recently).
Any day (24 hour period) where it rains throughout the daylight hours you also won’t see the Rainbow. Any day where it rains at night you will also not see a rainbow. No Rainbow does not necessarily equal No Rain.
When Nostradamus comes back to life he’ll be appointed immediately to a senior position at the IPCC. In his spare time he can read tea leaves for the Putin War effort.
So “paraphrasing” Nostradamus they conflate 40 years of dry and wet by changing the locations. And then say Hope it won’t be for 40 years. Sure Nostradamus should have been more precise with his formulation for the leftie morons, that cannot even understand what a woman is.
