World’s Northern Hemisphere Tropical Storm Accumulated Cyclone Energy Plunges 33% in 2022

Guest essay by Larry Hamlin

The World’s Northern Hemisphere tropical cyclone activity period for year 2022 has passed with the results showing a huge 33% reduction in Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE  – which includes data reflecting frequency, intensity and duration of all Northern Hemisphere tropical storms) from the 1991-2020 climatological activity period tracked by Colorado State University Department of Atmospheric Science /Tropical Meteorological Project as shown in their chart below.

The World’s Northern Hemisphere activity outcome includes tropical cyclone storm data from global regions representing the North Atlantic (addressed in more detail at this WUWT article), Northeast Pacific, Northwest Pacific and North Indian Ocean with all these regions experiencing significant reductions in ACE from the 30 year-long climate period reference standards as indicated in the chart below with the aggregate reduction for the entire World’s Northern Hemisphere in year 2022 being about 33%.

The World’s Northern Hemisphere historic pattern of measured ACE over the last 50+ years is shown in the table below clearly indicting that there is no basis for the incompetent climate alarmist propaganda claims that global and/or regional tropical storm activity is increasing as a result of “man-made climate change” with this politically contrived claim debunked by decades of tropical storm measured data. This readily available tropical storm data has been consistently ignored, hidden, concealed, misrepresented and otherwise falsely manipulated by climate alarmist politicians and media.

This data clearly challenges the ridiculous and flawed political concept being pushed by Biden and the Democrats and other climate alarmists that the world is experiencing a “climate emergency” and/or “climate crisis”. This claim is completely preposterous.

It’s amazing to see how well CO2 is controlling climate change. I wonder why TWC never wants to celebrate this exciting trend.

John,
I only wish I could believe your statement and stop worrying about increased glaciation!
I do love CO2, however, AND the plants that are thriving from it’s increase, AND, especially, the animals that feed on those plants! Must be time to throw some tasty products of the Gas of Life in the smoker and celebrate more CO2! Wish I could find a T-shirt expressing that!

Just Google “I love CO2” shirts and you’ll find all sorts of related apparel. I where these shirts all the time, and especially when giving climate change talks.

I need some help here.

Anyone know a sure-fire way to differentiate between spam and a Biden administration posting for bogus “Green” jobs?

1. I wear them when I do my morning walks — it gives me a chance to meet others and start a global warming conversation. 2. I wear them when I go get pizza or at the grocery store — it gives me a chance to meet others and start a climate change conversation. 3. I wear my green shirt (see atch pix) when giving public presentations about global warming and climate change at the Villages’ Weather Club and at about 20 other Villages clubs and organizations who ask for these talks … https://www.theweatherclubvillages.com/

The year 2022 northern hemisphere ACE was the lowest in the last 12 years and one of the lowest of 5 in the 51 years of data displayed. So much for the climate emergency propaganda pushed by politically contrived and incompetent climate alarmist Democrats.

No, no, no, CNN will have the Truth™, that the ACE is the 34th STRONGEST EVER recorded in history (of the past 50 years). World’s ending! Science settled!😮

The revealing aspect is that they (the media, TWC, Biden) refuse to acknowledge or discuss why this is happening. They are scared to death of reality … or they could go back to John Holdren for more advice … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQSSOnJgPpY

“World’s Northern Hemisphere Tropical Storm Accumulated Cyclone Energy Plunges 33% in 2022”

Don’t worry, the green religion has this covered. It’s all in TOTBO (tales of the bleedin’ obvious) #94

A new study finds that the Southern Hemisphere is 24% stormier than the North

For centuries, sailors have understood that the Southern hemisphere has threatened the most severe storms but with little to no scientific explanation behind it. Now, we have fresh confirmation that the Southern hemisphere is 24% stormier “

Do you think the uneven distribution of land masses, mountains etc might have something to do with it? Nah, can’t be, can it?

Land masses and mountains? Naw. It’s caused by CO2. You see, CO2 is heavy and sinks down from the northern hemisphere to the southern all year long. More CO2 and the southern hemisphere gets more storms. Perfectly clear! See Ron Long, you didn’t have to wait long at all.

“Roaring Fortys” – basically the winds pick up speed in the huge gap between Antarctica and the rest of the world and have nothing to slow them down till they hit the skinny tip of South America.

Probably the only place on Earth really worth putting offshore wind turbines, except for being too far from any customers…

It should be completely clear by now that the “climate” issue is not about science at all. It is clearly a political issue and a tool being used for some political and/or cultural goal. It’s my opinion that the climate fear campaign has been waged on the western free world by its enemies in the communist world. One good starting point to look at would be the Marxists that fled Germany pre and post WWII and landed in America and other western countries. They have been working for decades to undermine the west and they’ve made their way into all aspects of the free world and it’s cultural institutions. Following the recommendations of the “Green” or “Critical Theory” or “Net Zero” zealots will surely place the western free world in a state of disaster.

Maybe, just maybe right at the start of the AGW hypothesis, genuine science was being done to determine the effects of human emissions of CO2 on climate. Very shortly thereafter the politicians, powerful interest groups, global elites etc, seeing their future opportunities, corrupted and contrived to produce the monster we know today as “Catastrophic Climate Change”, and slowly and surely drew their plans against us.

The Ice Age cometh. Just thank God for the foresight of Newcomen and Watt. We are in desperate need of more GHE. Does anyone have any idea where we might obtain further supplies of this miraculous elixir aka CO2?

Right, we expended a lot of energy in recent years and now the longer ocean cycles are set for cooling without other complications.

So global warming got organized in the heads of the promoters in the 1980s and 90s from ACE change and now it’s pure play promotion.

And this happened during a La Nina with a forecast for ELEVATED tropical activity this year.

I was listening to NPR this afternoon. They were telling viewers that the science is crystal clear about how climate change and global warming causing extreme weather, including the long lived drought in the US West and Plains…….which is what the story was about. The historic drought there before of the fake climate crisis.

The best chance to eliminate this La Nina caused drought will come from us resuming global warming after a 6 year hiatus in warming that would hopefully coincide with an El Nino regime in the Pacific.

El Nino’s and global warming = less drought, better agricultural weather in the US!
La Nina’s and the absence of global warming or even global cooling = more drought, worse agricultural conditions in the US.

The complete opposite of everything they say is true when it comes to the slight, mostly beneficial warming, along with massively beneficial CO2 feeding crops and the biosphere which is increasing food for life on the planet.
Then they call their junk science “crystal clear science” as they impose charlatan journalism on the captured brains of their listening audience.

I’ll say it again–We’re going to need a truth and reconciliation court for all the climate scare, climate agenda science, climate media bias pushing, and weather-is-climate scare drip.

Currently, it’s a race to the bottom on science education and media manipulation.

Tropical Storm Accumulated Cyclone Energy Plunges 33% in 2022

I see this nowhere in the MSM, but next year when it reverts to the mean, the headline “…Soars by 33%” will be front and centre absolutely everywhere….media is obviously under control of someone but gets away on the influencers when enough people get fired…

It would be nice to get a link to the bar chart on ACE at CSU since I can’t find that in the CSU website any other way.
