That is just part of it. There will be no tv, hifi, dvds, games consoles, computers, Christmas lights….a whole raft of restrictions depending on the crisis level.

Failure to give the “demonstrators” any real punishment only encourages them.
It is also, literally, what they have asked for, and we should honor their adult agency by giving them what they asked for. Is not assisted suicide legal?
Fine them and they won’t pay the fines.
Jail them and our jails are clogged up.
All deigned to screw up our system.
How about fixing our broken systems that have not moved into the 20th Century far less the 21st Century.
I like citizen intervention, on both sides of the equation because citizens employ governments and security forces, not governments.
Let them sort it out on the streets with no police intervention. If the fat guy want’s to employ violence to ensure his progress isn’t impeded, the protestor is entirely at liberty to resist that violence.
‘Passive’ resistance isn’t a legitimate defence against violence when one simply crawls back onto the road, that’s defiance. Defiance can, in my opinion, be legitimately met with measures to ensure it doesn’t reoccur. The police do it all the time.
The police are civilians in uniform. If they can violently deal with defiance then so can the public.
The legendary national protest marches in early 20th Century UK were statements of workers national unity. Events to be admired for overwhelmingly peaceful exhibitions of worker unity that inconvenienced no one. They were organised with the police and accepted as the democratic right of the country.
Todays protesters couldn’t raise a march in a telephone booth, so they resort to anarchistic methods.
Chuck them off the roads as a public service and if they return, punch them in the chops* until they decide an organised, legal march, in the tradition of the best of the United Kingdom is the sensible solution.
*I absolve WUWT from the promotion of violence. This is my opinion having been a serving police officer for many years. I was not employed to break up fights, I was employed to pick up the bits, my employers told me that! I put myself in danger more times than I care to think about, but that was my choice. I and many other cops were scolded for risking our lives, but that was lip service, we were expected to do it. More importantly, we were willing to do it in the service of our community, not the police force.

It’s only a matter of time before someone winds up in the Hospital for their lack of hospitality
Or drivers get really pissed and protesters end up on a morgue table with a toe tag
Just administer the electric shock until they soil themselves. Then drag them out of the road or out of the museum or whatever and leave them twitching and stewing in their own excrement out of the way.. A few rounds of that ought to stop such behavior in short order.

Nice to see the round of applause from the audience when the two were removed from the concert hall. Beethoven would probably have approved.
Yes. I have read that he had an associate conductor for the first performance. The orchestra followed this guy. Beethoven had his back to the audience and was still conducting at the end when the audience was already applauding.
I note that the rascals glued themselves to the conductor’s stand, an item not firmly attached to the ground. The good Samaritans simply picked up the stand and the miscreants went meekly along. Probably got to listen to the concert glued to the wall outside the loo.

Let’s be honest with ourselves, these people actually have very little support at the street level and if the authorities don’t start ‘discouraging’ these people be actually enforcing the law then we are not just going to see angry members of the public dragging them to the kerb, we are going to see someone drag them off the road and literally beat them into a bloody mess.
Now I am a horrible person, but even I are not sure I want to see any of these idiots actually kills.
Well, since the policies they want to influct on the rest of us WILL be responsible for the deaths of millions, or even billions (as in “freezing and starving to death in the dark,” which is EXACTLY where humans WILL be without fossil fuels), I don’t have enough sympathy for them to be concerned about them getting the death penalty for their stupidity.

Climate protesters really are the dimmest of the dims.
Would have liked to see him put a little more effort into throwing the second ‘protester’ on top of the first; and then placing a couple more on top of the pile. And, since they just lay there and don’t move (because they are gentle pacifists), they would have to violate their training to disentangle themselves from the pile that they are.
They have no spines, so Caber Toss wouldn’t work. Drop kicking would be interesting.

If the protesters interfere with an ambulance carrying someone who needs urgent medical attention, and that person expires, the protesters should be charged to the fullest extent of the law, up to and including negligent homicide or manslaughter.
If they interfere its already a felony. In the US gluing yourself into the way of traffic is attempted suicide and you can be arrested and imprisoned/committed without bail.

Excellent! I grew up in SW Oregon, in big Timber country, and have fond memories of the video of a logger, starting his chain saw, shouting to a tree-hugger about 50 feet up “hold on this might be a wild ride”.
I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I’m glad to see normal people rejecting the climate-doomers and their antics. On the other hand, shouldn’t the police be dealing with these crazy protesters? I dread the possibility of one of these nuts carrying a weapon that they would be happy to use on citizens who disagree with their stance.
Most countries already have laws that make obstruction of the highway a criminal offence. It is the unwillingness of the police to enforce them, and of the courts to hand out appropriate sentences that has led to the extent of present problems.
no mixed feelings here paul. i agree, police should should clear the vermin from the streets. but you must understand the chain of command. police take orders from the police chief, who answers to and serves the mayor. if the mayor has mush for brains, it is reflected down the chain of command to the street level.

Motorists need to add to their emergency items list for the trunk or back seat. Bring ketchup, soup, and other things to throw on them. Some crude oil would also be handy.
There is a type of grease called Keystone it is used on open gears. It is extremely difficult to wash off. It laughs at varsol and other solvents. Comes in a handy spray can. 😎
The rope grease used in mining equipment (draglines) was called “Black Jack”.
Horrendous stuff, getting any on you would pretty much stick and spread everywhere. If would invariably have a lot of dust mixed in and was incredibly difficult to get off.
These are the instructions to get it off.
“Safe black jack remover
Black jack remover solution, the ready to use liquid can be painted or lightly sprayed onto the affected surface.
The rapid penetration down to the substrate helps to quickly remove tough greasy, oily deposits and light bitumen splatter from a variety of different surfaces.
Black jack remover can not be diluted with water and is advised to be applied to a dried surface where it is left in contact with the grease for a maximum of 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes the grease can be washed off with hot high pressure water”
This unit is an easy to carry device that does NOT look like a gun (although paintball markers, “guns”, can fire these.
Also, on the market are paintballs of various calibers which contain “skunk water”, based on crowd control liquid used for mob control by the Israelis.
Neither of these are life-threatening, but they are highly effective, even on a person-to-person confrontation. If protestors should rush your car, roll down the window, fire one or more pellets and quickly close the window.
Old:
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT use a paint ball gun in the manner you suggest!
Here in Arizona you will get arrested and charged with assault.
Even waving it at someone to scare them can be called “brandishing a weapon” [unless you are using it for a legitimate self-defense reason]. This happened to a neighbor of mine.
And this is in a state were you can openly carry a firearm, but you need to very, very careful how it is used, even if it is never fired.
Once they are kicked to the curb, glue them there!

Daily Telegraph (of Australia) columnist Tim Blair suggests this is the beginning of a new sport called Plonkerdump.
It should be included in the next Olympic Games.
Excellent!
The big fella was too gentle A kick in the Nut-nuts might be more persuasive. Good start though
Removing them is one thing, assaulting them is another.

Have seen them used in similar situations, focuses their attention very quickly.

Yes. I have read that he had an associate conductor for the first performance. The orchestra followed this guy. Beethoven had his back to the audience and was still conducting at the end when the audience was already applauding.
I just read about this recently. Partial loss while composing 8, totally deaf when composing 9

You have to be pretty dim in the first place , just to believe in the AGW nonsense.
Would have loved to see that big French dude use one of those protesters in a hammer throw event.
Would have liked to see him put a little more effort into throwing the second ‘protester’ on top of the first; and then placing a couple more on top of the pile. No, they will be foresters doing a job that they are paid to do. The question is does anyone replant the trees or encourage natural regeneneration?

Used engine oil, especially from a diesel engine nice and lumpy, and appropriate or ironic in the circumstances

plain old table salt slithered down their skin inside their clothes will do it just fine – tho I fully approve of discount brand tomato soup
Buckets of indelible green dye ! Mixed with feedlot run-off?
I carry a pee bottle in my van and sometimes forget it is still full…….
In the UK the police do nothing and it’s driving people crazy.
It is not illegal to bind and remove them yourself.
The problem here in woke Kanada is that the angry motorist is the one who gets charged with assault and the earth muffin gets off scott free…
Not just Canada.
Whilst I applaud the big guy and the others, they are assaulting the idiots and could end up with a criminal record
The protesters have already assaulted me by impleading my right to travel freely.🤷♂️😉
Right now in the UK it’s dark with no wind – that’s nil point for any reliable energy. My gas boiler is working and I can burn wood if necessary.
Must admit, it is very gratifying to see these assholes getting stuffed like they deserve.
It would seem easier for police, security or individuals to carry a pepper spray device such as this:
