I literally said Holy *hit after listening to her. She obviously did her research and instead of only reading the final political statement from the IPCC, she read the underlying (hidden from general public view) documents of their research. I am amazed that there are still journalists capable of getting the details of a story and airing the facts on air.

I like her a lot.

Our Julia is brilliant. She pulls no punches and routinely ridicules these people on her show. Of course they never learn and enthusiastically engage with her at the drop of a hat to trot out their nonsense and get laughed at.

A proper journalist as she takes no prisoners whatever side of the political or social aisle.

One of the most irritating things about leftists and at the same time their greatest weakness, is their absolute certainty in both the rightness of any cause they support and their unshakable belief in their own intellectual superiority.

No doubt all the people who come onto her show are convinced that they are the ones who will “put this woman in her place”.

Today I received some literature, including a book with the title “Inconvenient Facts”, from an outfit called “The CO2 Coalition”. I received it as the result of a donation I made to them. It was a well-written book which thoroughly takes on and destroys the climate change fear-mongering about CO2 and describes the extensive benefits of more CO2 in our atmosphere. Plenty of references are provided. I suggest checking in with them.

Coal was substituted for gas cause a) gas only emits about 1/3 of CO2 and b) gas fired power stations can be started and stoped much faster to supplement unsteady wind and solar. Gas is the vital part of the energy transition.

Now this clown tells us gas is the problem. Interesting.

The UK has plenty of gas but no fracking sense .
Drill and frack any one objecting is quite free to immigrate to Somalia .
Germany and other countries should never have relied on imports of Russian gas to keep their country powered .

The new Advanced Super Critical (A-USC) and Steam H coal fired plants can start up from cold in less than 30 minutes. Both they and the older High Efficiency and Low Emissions (HELE) coal plants have nothing like the emissions of old coal plants.

The only problem with starting up in 30 minutes, is that wind and solar can cut out in less than 1 minute.

Reply to  Dave Andrews
November 7, 2022 1:37 am

I think the issue is less with the start up time than how long they take to get to full efficiency.
But here in the Old World, coal is pretty much played out except in Easrern Europe – Poland, Ukraine and Russia mainly.
It’s all very well for the USA to reckon on 100 years of coal and 50 years of oil, we dont have that luxury.
We absolutely need as much nuclear power as possible right now, but what we will get is museum pieces of windmills and pointless solar panels that dont work in winter when we need the energy the most.

Population control has been an important part of the climate agenda since the beginning of global warming hysteria. see “Where the Global Warming Hoax Was Born: 1975 ‘Endangered Atmosphere’ Conference” , article by Marjorie Mazel-Hecht available online.Bill Gates, now thoroughly consumed by his ego , wealth, and notoriety, has proclaimed that the ideal world population should be-5 billion – we are approaching 9 billion now.. Of course, he also wants to control the climate by reducing the amount of radiation we receive from the sun by spraying some chemical into the atmosphere. It is time for him to go back to his philanthropy and leave us alone..

If A costs twice as much as B, is it not appropriate to describe A as twice as expensive as B? While one might best describe B as half as expensive as A, there is some colloquial logic in reversing the adjective instead of inverting the ratio, i.e. B is twice as cheap as A.

It is entirely fallacious. It is based on notionally bids in 2012 prices by wind farms yet to be built for CFD contracts they will never have to take up at £37.35/MWh (current indexed value about £48/MWh, due for a 10% inflation boost next April) compared with a one day peak gas price traded on futures exchanges, since when prices have fallen by almost two thirds. They always start by omitting the indexation and assuming that current wind farms are the same pricing. Here’s the reality for wind farms on CFD contracts in payment, with those not on CFDs getting at least market price, usually boosted by substantial ROC and REGO subsidies.

Murphy’s Law is an adage or epigram that is typically stated as: “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.”

Was Murphy’s Law written by Luke Murphy? He was certainly fact-challenged in this interview – with his constant spew of false-alarm climate bafflegab – the English term “bollox”.

Bottom Line:
We published the important conclusions to this debate in 2002 and nothing has changed:
The alleged Climate Crisis is a fifty-year-old scam, and “green energy” is not green and does not produce much useful energy.
The Climate scammers have wasted trillions of dollars and millions of lives on fraud.

THE ABYSMAL FAILURE OF THE GLOBAL WARMING ALARMISTS’ PREDICTIVE TRACK RECORD. ”THE LEFT LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING!”
Rode and Fischbeck, professor of Social & Decision Sciences and Engineering & Public Policy, collected 79 predictions of climate-caused apocalypse going back to the first Earth Day in 1970. With the passage of time, many of these forecasts have since expired; the dates have come and gone uneventfully. In fact, 48 (61%) of the predictions have already expired as of the end of 2020.”

For 60:40 predictions, the odds of being this wrong are 1 in 13 quintillion; for 70:30 predictions, the odds are 1 in 13 septillion. It’s not just climate scientists being randomly mistaken – they must have known they were not telling the truth.

i watched the interview twice. best 14 minutes i have ever spent. hey u.s. news media, pay attention.

what is really notable here is that the interview/slap-down lasted over 6 minutes. this allowed enough time for the guy to spew all the lies, propaganda and talking points at once. and ms. brewer called him out on every single one. this expanded interview format is key to educating the general public not only with climate but many other topics.

here in the u.s. an interview like this will last about 90 sec. with out challenge, then straight to commercial break. in fact, the format is the same whether the subject is a denier or believer.

real meaningful amounts of time, in prime time are needed to expose the truth. as great of a job wuwt does, its value is not realized by the masses simply because we are not in their faces. not dissing this site, everything has limits.

it isn’t only the exposure of of science, truth, facts and data that will educate the masses, it is the format.

it only takes a moment to believe a lie, it takes time to learn the truth.

I live in the UK, I’m 74 years old and have lived here for all of those years. To suggest that the climate here has changed is laughable.
