How Dare They?

From NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

By Paul Homewood

Sweden’s new right-wing government has sparked an outcry after scrapping the Ministry of Environment in a move the opposition has branded “devastating”.

Previously, the ministry was a high-profile stand-alone department with a minister in the cabinet, but now it will operate as part of another ministry instead.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson unveiled his new cabinet on Tuesday, and although he did appoint a Minister of Climate and Environment — 26-year-old Liberal MP Romina Pourmokhtari— she will work under Christian Democrat leader Ebba Busch, the new Minister for Energy, Business and Industry, rather than lead her own ministry.

The leader of the Swedish Greens, Per Bolund, noted that for the first time in 35 years Sweden would have no dedicated environment ministry.

“It is impossible to describe more clearly how little this government values the environment and the climate. This is a historic decision with devastating consequences for environmental issues”, said Bolund.

Has the pendulum began to swing less woke? Over here in Australia we had a netballer not wanting to wear the sponsors logo. The mining company pulled the entire $15M national sponsorship.

Dear lord.

Wearing a sponsors logo in the kit that is part of contract the team signed with the sponsor, and the player contracted to wear that kit with a sponsor’s logo which in part pays for the player’s bloomin contract

The Rainbow mafia logo on the shirt is a political and to some and/or a religious matter.

Apples to Oranges comparison.

The very fact you are not allowed object to Rainbow mafia demands shows how insidious the activist side of movement is.

I am curious tho, for no real reason, was it the old Rainbow flag, or this new ‘everyone on the planet but straight white males’ flag?

When Elsa Widding, with very high competence in climate science hold her initial speech as member in the Swedish parliament lots of mental fuses burned on the left (and right) side. A claim that the climate crisis lack scientific support and that we need to prioritize our community before virtue signaling has been heavy criticized. When the hysteric response past it will be interesting to follow the debate. As a politician on the winning side she will be allowed to debate and disarm the fearmongers.

Yes, Elsa will be heavily cricized by the alarmists, but Elsa has one thing on her side: She sees the truth of the matter and apparently isn’t afraid to say so.

Hang in there Elsa, you are on the proper side of the issue. The alarmist climate change case does lack scientific support. That’s the reason alarmists have such a hard time selling it, even though they own the media and have all the money they need to push this false narrative of Human-caused Climate Change.

It’s more than just the Green machine, Sweden has had it with outsiders trying to remake their society. Being nice to immigrants has cost them with increased crime, terrorism, sex crimes, while draining their treasuries with no return. Being nice to environmentalists has weakened their economy and altered their lifestyle. Their approach to Covid proved to be correct while the rest of the world chastised them. Sweden has awakened and said enough is too much and they’re taking their country back. Good for them.

Among many other stupid or malevolent things Richard Nixon did, establishing the EPA as a stand alone agency was one of the worst. Being a separate agency meant that “the environment” was never going to be protected enough, and that any sense of other goals being a higher priority was against their continued employment.

That wasn’t Nixon, it was our bettters in Congress who found cheap labor substitutes and comfortable investment partnerships in China. Nixon opened the door, but arguably was totally naive as to what would happen next.

Today, with their Most Favored Nation (no tax) status made permanent by Congress, you can buy American goods cheaper there than you can buy them here.

Thatcher did that for years, returned the UK budget to Black and then what happened? The left started talking about how to spend all the excess money and bought their way back into power with promises of free stuff.

So, no, you ALWAYS must worry about the next election.

In the US the only way is to make MAJOR changes rapidly and END the giveaway programs, then when the vast majority of people realize THEY were only effected by a lowering of their taxes, no loss of service, all the leftists who lost all their free stuff and jobs will no longer be able to fund their leftist politicians to cover the TV and radio with malicious political advertisements. The Fair Tax must replace the income tax, the “prebate” only to go to US citizens.

In the UK, first terminate ALL of the employees of the BBC, sell all the buildings and transmission equipment and make it almost impossible for the left to re-create it when they get back in power.

I can’t find anywhere in the U.S. Constitution where Congress is given the right to take money from one class of people and give it to another class. The Supreme Court should declare all tax and transfer programs are unconstitutional. Charity should not be enforced. American’s are very charitable people, we’ll take care of those who really need it. Our economy needs those seven million non-working men between 18 and 54 to come back to the workplace, and they will live better, more fulfilling lives.

Oh, the NSDAP was socialist, just not Marxist.Marx did not devise socialism, and despite Stalinist claims, it is not a progression on the road to Communism.
It was the product of a series of writers, mostly French, wanting “democratic control” over the economy. Mussolini sold what was supposed to be a government run by labor union locals, the Fasci.

Craig from Oz
Reply to  Tom Halla

There are some subtle differences.

Communism is where everything is owned/run by the ‘commune’ for the good of ‘The People’
National Socialism is where everything is owned/run by the ‘state’ for the good of ‘The People’.
The irony that fans of these systems fail to admit is that ‘The People’ get little say in real terms.
In National Socialism there is the ruling party. In Communism there are the ruling committees. After all, someone needs to control the actual work, and since the workers are too busy working it may as well be them. Right?

This is what is often missed with Marx. He described a world where small business was simply wished out of existence and there were ‘only’ owners and workers. He decided that the workers should rise up and overthrow the owners.

Yet which of those two groups was he part of? Neither.

Marx was part of the third group who talked about things and wanted the system built back better so they they played a more active role. This is the major problem with Socialism – they want to reshape YOUR world, not theirs. If their revolution fails they go back to sleeping in a share house, while you now have no means of employment. No skin off their nose.

Remember kids, in a Worker’s Paradise YOU are still JUST a worker.

Story of Mexican socialism. The socialist took over after an election in the early 1900s. At the time 90% of he pineapples imported to the US was from a single area of Mexico. Plantations run by property owners. The government divided the property up and gave it to the “people”. The plantations closed and the people became poor, and the US found new places to import pineapples from.

Once the NSDAP were in power in 1933 they outlawed the german communist party and imprisoned marxists and socialists of that stripe – either you really are this stupid or you are ignorant to the fact that Socialism is a catch-all term for several different groups with broadly similar methods and aims. Basically they imprisoned and shot other types of socialist, which does not stop them from being socialists themselves – if you look at the early history of the Soviet Union it is a veritable bloodbath of different socialist groups fighting each other (and sometimes themselves) for power and control.

Historically Swedish governments have prioritized the interests of Swedes.

Well, there’s a step in the right direction.

Great, now any “climate devastation” that occurs from here on out is Sweden’s fault.

The rest of humanity is off the hook.

Thanks Sweden!

Definitely. Although her parents fled Iran after suffering persecution there.

Ideology again (temporarily) triumphs over science, need and common sense.

Sweden has seen rapid temperature rises in its northern regions in recent years and some devastating forest fires (in some of the best managed forest in Europe).

There is no facepalm large enough to register this stupidity. Sweden has seen very little temperature rise, one bad forest fire in 2018 and very little since. In fact Sweden has been providing its firefighting units to Czech Republic and France in recent years.
And before you make any other demented comments, the 2018 wildfires have been attributed to a coordinated series of arson attacks both in cities and the countryside ahead of the general election.

Yeah, but it was the unbearably cold summers that Sweden had been experiencing that drove people to experiment with arson. 🙂

“Ideology again (temporarily) triumphs over science”

Weren’t you reading the article, Griff? What is it about “[Human-caused Climate Change] lacks scientific support” that you don’t understand?

It’s not ideology, it is lack of evidence of a need to regulate and control CO2.

I like the ministry definition and where Sweden places Energy with respect to government, with Business and Industry. That is where energy belongs, with business and industry. Defense must be involved also.

— Australia of course has Chris Bowen as minister of “Climate Change” and Energy, same as many other governments. Climate change shouldn’t be represented at any level of government IMO. Or just shove it in with Science, though it really can’t go there either.

That would mean the mine hasn’t had a cave-in or rock-fall yet. Wouldn’t you prefer to be unable to see Bowen in the bottom of the mine?

Hard to imagine that a group of people being moved to a different spot on the org chart as a great catastrophe. The empire builders wont be happy of course, but maybe they can do some work and prove their worth rather than building a fiefdom.

Work? I rather think not, empire building is a full-time job all to itself, don’t you know!

“Devastating Consequences.”

Announcement is hours old and already tidal waves have swept Malmo out to sea, the polar axes have flipped and millions lay dead in smoking ruins.

Oh, wait. That was the western world’s COVID policies. Well, never mind then.

If only we could do the same with the Dept. Of Education, the Dept of Energy, the Dept of Transportation. . .

Bird killing wind farms and destroying the habitat of the orangutan is considered protecting the environment with the greens.
