Video suggests the gun wielding Washington DC commuter was rushing to help her sick mum.
‘Move before I pull my gun out!’ Outraged DC commuter threatens to SHOOT climate change activists for blocking busy interstate during morning rush-hour – as another furious driver tosses their banners away
By Stephen M. Lepore For Dailymail.Com 03:19 08 Oct 2022, updated 08:37 08 Oct 2022
- A group called Declare Emergency , which is demanding President Joe Biden declare a ‘climate emergency,’ sat themselves down on I-395 Friday
- Blocking roads is a tactic that’s largely been used in the United Kingdom, where protesters have interrupted traffic to sound the alarm about climate change
- Their website and demands compare the threat of climate to Hitler’s Nazi regime in Germany prior to World War II
- Those trying to get to work Friday morning were seen on video not exactly feeling the unity
- One commuter eventually got out of his car and threatened, ‘Move before I pull my gun out’
Commuters in Washington got into a raging confrontation with climate activists on their way to the nation’s capital Friday, with one even threatening to shoot protesters blocking the highway.
A group called Declare Emergency, which is demanding President Joe Biden declare a ‘climate emergency,’ sat themselves down on I-395, one of the main routes to Washington, and refused to get up.
That soon prompted a furious backlash from drivers. One woman got out of her car and threatened the rabble with a gun if they refused to let her past to go see her mom, while an irate man ripped placards out of the group’s hands and tossed them above the median and onto the other side of the interstate.
After half an hour, police arrived to arrest the group.
…
A video of the incident;
Thankfully DC police arrived within half an hour to arrest the climate protestors, before they got hurt.
I think this incident raises an important issue. I don’t condone violence, but people who block roads are putting themselves in harms way.
I remember a close relative once had to rush her son to hospital, when her son suffered an asthma attack and stopped breathing. Pedal to the metal all the way. She stopped once, briefly, for police, and they gave her an escort. The boy was saved – just – but was seconds away from death when they arrived at the hospital.
Sometimes people really need to get to where they are going. I can’t imagine my relative would have slowed down for a bunch of climate protestors, with her son’s life hanging in the balance she would have driven through them, if they didn’t give way. She wasn’t a violent person, there would have been tears in her eyes when she did it.
Eric, what the heck? “Sometimes people really need to get to where they are going.”
ALL TIMES people really need to get to where they are going, that’s why they are going to begin with. These people need to be locked away at Lorton (is Lorton still the DC jail?)
Josh, I’m furious at these spoiled middle class w*nkers messing up the lives of other people for no good reason. But not furious enough to use deadly force.
Some of our most influential supporters, people like Zion Lights, who used to be an Extinction Rebellion spokesperson, until she woke up and realised her fellow travellers weren’t thinking straight.
Most of the people in the climate movement are good people, they’ve just been led astray by a bunch of toxic communists. Sooner or later they’ll wake up and realise they’ve been lied to, if they are given a chance.
Eric, whether they are good people or not isn’t the point. The point is that my rights and privileges don’t end where theirs begin. Talking to them, temporarily detaining them and fining them has not worked. It is time to take the next step, I don’t know what exactly would be proper but it is time for them to feel significant pain for their misbehavior, they have worn out their welcome.
Bob if you start shooting protestors you go to jail. I’m as outraged as anyone by their behaviour, but the answer is to vote for politicians who throw the key away. Otherwise everything just escalates, people go to jail, and the protestors start laying landmines rather than standing in front of traffic.
Just as the British replied to those Indian widow burners, I support Bob’s and Josh’s right to provide the martyrdom the protesters crave, and I also support Bob’s and Josh’s right to martyrdom for their actions in helping the protesters achieve martyrdom.
Read my reply to Eric, don’t put words in my mouth.
My apologies Bob
Yes, you are right, but in a weak self-defense, “martyrdom” doesn’t have to include death, just any suffering dealt by The Man.
Call me a barbarian – but, in life or death, it’s the valuable person’s life, the thug’s death.
Now, otherwise… bear spray.
actually a spray of skunk might be more useful?
wish we had them in Aus;-)
if we sprayed them with skunk, would they smell any different than before?
Vinegar.
Only one problem Eric, I didn’t say to shoot them. I said I didn’t know what the answer is but what we are doing now clearly isn’t working. Time to kick it up a notch.
Eric:
As I mentioned in my earlier comment, many police, Armed Forces servicemen, Department of Homeland Services, Central Intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Secret Service, etc. employees commute up I395.
There are legal clauses regarding anyone obstructing an officer in the performance of their duty…
Coddled activists used to corrupt government protection may learn that Law Enforcement Officers have means beyond ordinary citizens.
Along with Federal processes to hush up inconvenient people/events/actions.
Didn’t Biden just made a lot more room in Federal Prisons? Maybe he was thinking (?) ahead….
If not it seems ‘Gru’ Fetterman intends to make plenty more places available.
Eric,
good luck in finding suitable politicians, if they are anything like ours in theU.K. And then when the legal side give them a slap on the wrist for their lawlessness.
Just put your car in super low gear and slowly run them over … shooting them won’t get them out of the way.
A woman in the UK did just that. She was trying get her children to school when three protestors blocked the road and sat right down against her bumper (OK, fender!). The driver crept fwd very slowly until the protestors were leaning on her car, making a big thing out of being shoved. The police arrested the driver and she lost her licence for six months as well as being fined. The protestors were allowed to sit back down in the road.
She should have punched them in the face. Get done for assault, but they can’t take you driving licence for that.
cars will have to be outfitted with cattle catchers, like the ones used on trains of old. Drive forward and the protestors are moved to one side or the other without getting run over. It would probably bruise them up a bit, though.
he didnt say shoot or other violence at all, really serious fines and jail are pretty painful
thing is theyre NOT being applied!!
Did the BLM protestors that shot people go to jail? DId they even get caught?
No and no.
The tragic descent of society into anarchy.
We either accept the police are a force for good and understand their need for violence, usually in the heat of a highly charged event calling for split second decisions that occasionally go wrong, or we decline into taking the law into our own hands.
No cop ever joined the job (with a tiny exception of psychopaths) to do harm. We all joined to protect our family, friends and community.
In the UK, we cops had an unwritten “Ways and means” Act. If we couldn’t actually find sufficient evidence to demonstrate in court that someone had, say, participated in a BLM riot but we knew they had done so, we would make their life a living hell, legally.
The western world needs more cops. Tough ones at that.
I agree, Bob. We need to make it an automatic prison sentence of 5 years minimum. This is de facto terrorism.
And we need to have police officers staffing the highways to be right there when this happens.
Yeah, much as it would feel good to shoot one of them in the foot, that isn’t the answer.
I say bear spray, then zip tie them to the nearest guard rail until the police arrive to cut them free and cart them to jail.
Excellent! We need to start a “Guardian Angels of the Freeways” group (like the Guardian Angels trying to keep people safe from criminals on the NYC subway).
Cattle prods work nicely. They hurt but don’t injure. A belligerent person would just grab it, but these fruitcakes probably wouldn’t know what hit them.
I’m a big fan of cattle prods. It might be too fun to use on protesters though. I might get too carried away with it. 😔
That’s what we pay the police for Peta.
They pay the police to protect people in NYC, too. For some reason, the Guardian Angels formed in NYC, anyway… .
btw: Why do you call me “Peta?” I have never used that name — anywhere.
Obstructing a highway is at least a misdemeanor in most jurisdictions. Just claim a “citizen arrest” while doing as you say.
100%. More importantly, they are depriving people of making a living. No one has that right.
Vinegar spray would largely achieve the same end and it’s a good and reasonable solution. It only needs to be done to one though. Gangs (which these people are) are cowards. Find the ringleader (they are always obvious) and do as you suggest. The rest will melt away.
Police, like most of us, are given specific assignments. Officers assigned to ticketing speeders and other traffic offenses are assigned a specific length of road.
Like most of us employees, they do not get to roam freely.
I doubt these traffic control officers are trained to deal with climate protestors.
I do support sending police trainers to France to learn how to properly handle traffic blocking protestors. Training that then can be given to local LEO so they can properly handle protestors.
Zip tied protestors left prostrate or seated feet away from vehicles doing 65mph or faster for hours, might encourage their fears.
Especially if the police don’t arrive for a couple of days
65 mph during rush hour on I-395!
I rode with car pools for years up/down I395. There are a couple of slow spots where lanes merge, but for the most part the inner lakes keep to 65MPH or faster.
That’s with a speed limit of 55MPH on that section of I395.
“I do support sending police trainers to France to learn how to properly handle traffic blocking protestors.”
That made me laugh! 🙂
But when they confronted the yellow vest protestors, they were organs of the state……..
Kidding, right?
If even a rookie cop can’t deal with a few rabble rousers either the laws need to be changed or, more likely, they need to be sent back for further training.
A law is a law. Break it and you risk being deprived of your liberty by the police. At least in the UK (and elsewhere in civilised western society) it’s the only power police have over any of us. Even then, a citizens arrest is usually acceptable in court.
Sigh. Dear Theo, I, once again, did not word a comment well enough to convey my intended meaning. I meant that, currently, the highways are UNDER-staffed by police. We need to fund more police, so that there can be adequate staffing, assignments/duty at the freeway.
Most of these protests occur in urban Blue State settings, where the DAs will be far more likely to prosecute irate drivers than protesters from the cult of Gaia, to which Soros-appointed prosecutors also belong.
Good point.
It had better be sooner rather than later. While they may b e “good people”, Their continued presence does nothing but continue the scam.
They suffer high gas prices as much as anyone else. I strongly suspect the movement is starting to fade away. The protestors I saw in Sydney CPAC were surprisingly uncommitted, there were a handful of hardliners, but most of them were just there for the show. Faded away as soon as it started raining.
grinnning so snowflakes melted in the rain
thats funny
You have much bigger problems than a few manky street protestors in Aus. mate.
if this shit keeps up, the day will come when they gonna catch the wrong person at a very bad time & they will drive right thru them & keep on going.
It’s a disaster waiting to happen & also, a half hour police response is atrocious
It took a half hour because traffic was so slow.
That would be me, paul.
If I needed to
…to rush [my] son to hospital, when [my] son suffered an asthma attack and stopped breathing. Pedal to the metal all the way.
I would slow down, but, if they stood there, and that was my son, I would shove them with my vehicle and KEEP GOING.
Watching in the video how so many drivers just stopped — often, many yards back — when those creeps strolled onto the highway was infuriating. Don’t stop for them! Keep rolling if you possibly can (without running over them like a speed bump).
Like this. (watch upper left-middle, black SUV)
And the driver was a woman. 💃 You go, girl.
If she does injure someone, and I am on the jury, all she has to say is that visions on the Watts riots were in her mind (where driver was pulled out of the truck and beaten nearly to death) and she feared for her safety.
She goes free.
Depending on the region/City, there would not even be need for charges, based on the drivers reasonable fear of the mob.
started laughing
if they tried that near my car my dogs might miraculously exit a window..
mayhem
theyre not at all savage but theyre rather large, theres 5 of them and DO love to bound all over people, bet theyd scatter
Oklahoma has a law where a person is not penalized for driving trhough a crowd if they feel their life is in danger.
This law was put in place when the riots were going on in 2020, and crowds of people were blocking streets and highways all over the nation and surrounding cars and beating the occupants.
So if you are surrounded by a crowd in Oklahoma and think you are about to be killed, you can legally drive through the crowd to get away.
It would be an interesting court case if something like that ever happens.
You have no idea what you would do unless you have faced a life critical situation.
Most people dissolve into uncertainty.
What would you do in your stated case if you were twenty rows back in the traffic queue?
Boy, H. Scot, you really DO have a chip on your shoulder toward me. I wasn’t sure, but, now (after weeks of you snarling at me — often inaccurately, for your baseline resentment toward me tends to cloud your thinking at times when you respond to my comments) I know.
Of COURSE, I was assuming that I had the option to do that.
What I would do in another fact scenario is irrelevant. I quoted from the article a situation where it was possible to keep on going.
Re: “You have no idea” — I may not know what I would do, but, I do have a pretty good idea.
I wonder why you are so consistently hostile in your tone toward me? What in the world…. ?
They ARE NOT GOOD PEOPLE.
They are BULLIES attempting to force their lunatic ideas on WORKING people.
I noticed the woman? speaking of a gun had plastic framed glasses.
Probably a synthetic sweater.
What else is from oil?
Strip them of their oil products then let them walk home.
ya really think so? been 30+ yrs and the majority dont seem to be reaching critical thinking stages yet
Eric, while you are doing your preaching to them to EVENTUALLY convince a few stray sheep to return to the flock, think about this: you are not “really needing”, as you say, to go your everyday routine, you are in a real emergency, for instance driving someone needing to go to an hospital, and you are stopped, not just in the first line, as it seems the woman with the gun was, but some hunderd yards behind: you would not be able to talk with those scoundrels, as she did; what would be your choice, then? What could you do?
Fortunatelly this kind of operation is not used in my country (I wonder why, as those ignorant “climate” nuts adopt everything their likes do abroad); some years ago, before the “climate emerency”, “extinction”, etc., it was tried by one or two trade unions during strikes: the condemnation by all the population was overwhwlming and the method was discarded. I am firmly convinced that this kind of disruption of social life should be severily criminalized. Furthermore, because they are unexpected, unannounced, and are implemented in violation of the legitimate rules about the right of demonstration.
They will never “wake up”, this movement is a cult, and it gets much worse with the younger crowd, who are completely indoctrinated through K-12 and college into the Greta Cult.
Eventually you’re going to have the entire West or “free world” under mind control of the cult of Gaia, implementing artificial energy scarcity and tight controls, digital “carbon footprint” measurements and personal allocations, not unlike the vaccine pass electronic enforcement tools, the public has been primed with the covid control grid.
You’re going to see those put in place in Europe first, the Ukraine war and Russian cheap energy boycotts are meant to put this control grid in place. Eventually those measures will be adopted in the US.
The rest of the world, China, Russia, India, Brazil, Africa etc will not abide by this, they will split into a separate economic zone that will benefit from cheap, abundant hydrocarbon-based energy.
Now that is just hilarious.
The stupid tart couldn’t articulate her original XR cause, got humiliated on TV, jumped ship to nuclear, and you expect her to understand that any better than she does climate change?
She’s a political climber and if anyone supports her stupidity she’s liable to be the next AOC!
The road to hell is paved with GOOD intentions. Yet, you get there nonetheless.
1: There are degrees of “need”. Going to buy clothes is not as needy as getting to a hospital.
2: It is disrespectful to assume these protestors do NOT have agency and are not willing to lay down their lives to save the planet. MLK’s Letter From Birmingham Jail has something to say about it. Stopping instead of running them down is condescending, patronizing, and deprives them of the self-sacrifice they so desperately crave.
I395 is not policed by District of Columbia.
I395 is policed by the efficient and serious Virginia State Police and will be charged under Virginia law.
Parts of I-395 are in the District, aren’t they?
No.
Once I395 crosses the Potomac, there is a brief section of highway labeled I395, and a number of other road identifications, e.g., I695. Much less than a mile in Washington DC.
One can find ‘this way to’ I395 signs inside Washington DC. Sometimes, one can even find the entrance that lead to I395 South.
“locked away” is just one of many ways to make “agitators” pay for their actions. They “agitate” because they don’t pay for anything they ask for. They’re freeloaders and self-absorbed political ne’er-do-wells who do what they want because we all let them. Instead, we should just insist that if they want something then “pay for it!” Otherwise they can pay for the inconvenience they cause everybody else. Soon this kind of B.S. will stop.
“Thankfully DC police arrived within half an hour to arrest to climate protestors, before they got hurt.”
Sorry, I think a few of these people getting hurt is exactly what’s needed. People need to feel the repercussions for their terrible decisions or else their behavior won’t change.
Notice how quickly the Democrat controlled DC police reacted. I think leading up to the midterms at least, there is going to be very little tolerance for this nonsense. And hopefully after as well.
Providing the law is enforced, if they keep on with this nonsense, Big Bubba gets a new cell mate.
Update: Thinking about it, a half hour response time is pretty pathetic.
Yes, that response time is pathetic. (Very fortunate that there wasn’t a chain reaction accident.)
“Providing the law is enforced.” Very, very optimistic there.
How do you know there wasn’t?
There could have been multiple fender benders when the traffic backed up.
I395 is patrolled by Virginia State Police.
Capitol Park Police (Federal employees) may, if the situation demands or a superior directs, perform some LEO officer duties outside of the Federal Parks.
To reach District of Columbia from I395 requires crossing the Potomac River.
No DC police, patrol or respond to anything happening in Virginia or Maryland.
If these protestors were not on I395, say at an intersection well off of I395, then it is possible Alexandria or Fairfax county police responded. Both are Virginia jurisdictions.
Both Alexandria and Fairfax County are democrat bastions. Alexandria being the more tolerant, in some respects, community.
“I think a few of these people getting hurt is exactly what’s needed. People need to feel the repercussions for their terrible decisions or else their behavior won’t change”
Exactly Bob.
There are three ‘hurt’ possibilities.
Interstates are National Defense Highways.
This is terrorism and treason.
ANY military service member delayed in reaching their jobs should be charged as an individual offense, prosecuted and sentenced separately.
Rud, at least your sensible suggestions are imaginable in many US States.
In London we have the Senior Police officer (a woman) telling our own “protestors” to make themselves comfortable and just call her if there is anything they need.
But no-one seems to be held to account today.
Unless they do something really dreadful. Like using the wrong pronouns, of course.
But everyone knows she’s a Dick 😀
If you’re referring to Cressida Dick she’s gone, thank god, now replaced by Mark Rowley.
Asking from ignorance, but is that an improvement?
Huh. Idiots. Being led by the nose by the ruling class. Do you think if they spent just two hours at this website reading the information provided here that it would make a difference?
It would make zero difference to them. That’s not the way they are wired.
I think part of the reason they are so noisy is they are fighting off their own doubts, they shout slogans when they are troubled or confused.
https://twitter.com/Nigel_Farage/status/1576109056200421377
I just think they have brainwashed.
And they are uneducated who wrongly imagine they have been educated-
the many years lost was brainwashing.
They are “brothers and sisters from a different mother” to Griff. Has anything here made him anything but even more ensconced in his insanity?
To paraphrase Eric Fromm from “True Believers”, no amount of evidence will separate a true believer from his cause because evidence isn’t what attached him to it. The only thing that will is another cause he can attach to.
Brain fart – that should have been Eric Hoffer and “The True Believer”.
We have these morons in the UK too. They cal themselves “Just Stop Oil” and they all belong in the nuthouse / jail. Either is fine.
“Just Stop Oil”
These people should try to live without oil-based products for one day. They cannot.
Can’t use a mobile: make with plastics. Can’t watch tv: also plastics in there. Can;t drive any where: also EVs have plastic parts. Be careful what you wear; many clothes contain oil-based polyesters. …
“I don’t condone violence, but people who block roads are putting themselves in harms way.”
You are looking at this wrong. They put other people in harm’s way. Odds are exceedingly high people like your close relative would not face protestors in the road but a traffic jam with cars hemming her in and her son would be long dead before traffic was cleared.
Absolutely – but they are also putting themselves in harms way, from people who have a desperate need to pass.
Not condoning the nutty protest.
But the lady with the handgun threat should have her carry permit revoked. An uncalled for threat no way proportionate to the situation. My CC is a Colt .380 (former Secret Service/Air Marshal sidearm) and I have never had to even consider threatening to use it. Bad form.
This from someone who has owned firearms since 11, presently has a large armory of many types and calibers in three locations, who reloads, and who formerly participated in and taught competitive shooting (revolver silhouette, skeet, trap, sporting clays) plus gun safety to novices (Boy Scouts and sons many friends with parental permission at my personal shooting range at my Wisconsin farm [old 100 yard by 50 yard rock quarry with about 60 foot high rock walls]), and young hunters needing to pass the Hunter Safety course to get their first license in Illinois and Wisconsin.
You don’t know it was disproportionate to the threat, her mum’s life might have been in immediate danger. Obviously call the police or ambulance and all that, but given it took the DC police half an hour to respond to a disruptive protest, I’m guessing there might be an issue with response times – especially when a group of climate nuts are blocking the road. She was obviously worried enough to risk pulling a gun, even though she knew she was being filmed, and her car rego would be reported to police.
I wouldn’t waste the bullets, unless you could get them to sit back to back, or in a line, then you could two or more with one shot.
One would have to have something other than hollow points.
Why do you presume all my reloaded .380 ammo is not hollow point, since it all is, per Air Marshal standards.
You have obviously never shot real guns at real targets.
Let me give you a simple long ago anecdote. So, I took my best college friend and later groomsman hunting, I had a shotgun, he had nothing (no training). So. We came upon a trash cardboard box out in the grouse woods. So, I said to Vince, want to see what this does? Was a simple 20 ga Mossberg 500 pump. So, at about 30 yards, I fired a single 20 ga 6 ga shot and shredded the target box to smithereens. He never touched a gun again.
I was being tongue-in-cheek. Anyway, I used to be able to hit a quarter at 20 yards with my 22 rifle. Haven’t shot in a while.
“Fine! I only have twelve bullets, so you’re gonna have to share”
Why?
Most ambulances here are privately owned and operated. They have little legal responsibility.
A court case regarding police failure to respond timely has been adjudicated by the US Supreme Court years ago.
The court found that police have no such responsibility to respond effectively or timely. Their responsibility is to their superiors; their superiors to their employers.
When a threat is seconds away and the police are tens of minutes, the responsibility to defend falls upon those actually present.
Which is why a number of states define self defense rights both inside private property (includes residences, cars and RVs) and outside residences.
Still, I suspect where the feces will really hit the fire will involve Federal Law Enforcement and obstruction of their duties.
Most others will simply drive aggressively. Even idiots recognize their danger when cars approach at high rates of speed.
Not at all uncalled for.
You all that didn’t like this post obviously have NO intimate knowledge of firearms, which I tried to convey. It is easy until you have to live it. Soldier or hunter, been done both. Only the ‘game’ is different.
I was around guns all my childhood Rud, I’ve gone hunting, and killed snakes and pest animals, so I’m well aware of what a gun can do. I’ve defended myself from violent assault. I’ve never had to point a gun at someone, hopefully I am never in a situation where I feel I have to. But I don’t think there is a lot I wouldn’t do, if someone I love was hurting, and some jackass was standing in the way of me helping.
Then proceed apace and hope they get out of the way. The gun would be unnecessary to the entire interaction – except to demonstrate you’re serious prior to proceeding. If stuck 20 cars back, shooting won’t get the desired result, but brandishing might be an effective bluff or might not.
I read a comment recently that said something like: When the government stops enforcing simple property crimes, the sentence for those crimes will soon be DEATH.
When the individual citizen must take the law into their own hands, all bets are off. It would appear to me that is what the Democrats want, vigilantism, so that they can attempt to revoke the 2nd amendment.
Hell, in the UK, the “authorities” are enforcing speech codes while ignoring criminal codes. But you have no 2nd amendment in the UK.
The United Kingdom, where everything is policed except crime.
In D.C., she’s probably looking at being charged with assault with a deadly weapon – unless there is some kind of affirmative action working in her favor. Had it been me, the D.C. police would have used the video to press charges. Owning a gun brings responsibility – and a legal target on your back.
Both “protestors” and car jackers have taken to the use of guns. In such cases, you can start to make a case for self-defense. In such a case, whether or not I’m legal takes a back seat.
There’s a very good reason that I never, never, never, ever have a loaded firearm in my vehicle.
I might use it.
Learn more gun control. It isn’t about two handed grip. It’s about mental toughness.
To quote Harry Callahan, “A man’s got to know his limitations.” If John understands his own temperament and acts preemptively to avoid doing harm, that’s as much gun control as he needs.
Shoot the fu**ing bast***s…
If ordinary people get furious with climate activists’ stunts like this those responsible for the coming energy crisis starting this northern winter had better watch out.
From those vids, I see a lot of white privilege dressing up in reflective vests. Few people of color seem interested in indulging these idiotic climate stunts.
More street sense.
Thank you, Eric, for informing us 😏 and, even more, for giving us a (obviously, heh) much-needed opportunity to express our anger at this behavior. We are not, I think, most of us deeply angry at the clearly brain-disordered, pitiful, cult members getting their jeans dirty on the pavement.
We are furious at those whose dirty work those mental cripples are doing. The solar-wind-electric vehicle-cladding-carbon capture (and also, those just wanting power, per se) CROOKS and their scientists-for-hire are the true objects of our wrath.
When we look at a swarm of locusts, we don’t hate the locust for being what it is, we hate the destruction and famine it can bring. Nevertheless, we destroy the locust to prevent the harm it propagates.
Believing they can accomplish anything significant and meaningful by block traffic and making commuters irate only serves to demonstrate that these individuals are not the sharpest tools in the shed.
I’m no psychologist, but the reaction these dimwits get from commuters should tell them that it is unlikely they will attract the sympathy of the majority of the general public with such actions. That they apparently can’t figure that out tells us what we need to know about them.
Every time I watch a video of protesters doing this, I am always left wondering if their I.Q.’s are much larger than their shoe sizes.
They are narcissists. In their minds, their desires no matter how trite or inconvenient, require all others to serve their personal needs. They have no shame.
We see this frequently. Activists make larger than life claims, but show up in small handfuls to conduct their protests.
Their beliefs are that everyone will immediately recognize their moral superiority and stop fossil fuel use.
All while wearing/using multiple fossil fuel derived products. items they are convinced they are forgiven for using, because moral superiority…
Legislators whom are served by these infantile protestors look the other way to allow protestors latitude to egregiously misbehave. Reinforcing established selfish attitudes.
A bat, a gun, a mob, an suv… We observed the same occupation and intimidation behavior with other nationwide insurrections. People don’t respond well to being herded.
Freedom of Motility
“Climate Emergency” is part of the A22 Network which has been
planning worldwide protests, including this one in DC. If someone
suffers harm from these planned events, can those organizations
be sued for liability?
https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2022/04/05/2417047/0/en/A22-Network-Holds-Global-Press-Conference-on-Climate-Change-Civil-Resistance-Campaign-April-12.html

It is only a matter of time before someone dies BECAUSE the misguided fools deliberately deny freedom of movement. It is only a matter of time before their shoving their views, which have zero evidence actually causes a death.
She didn’t shoot anyone. Her weapon was only used so far as to recover her liberty in the wake of nationwide insurrections, occupations, invasions, intimidation, and assaults by movement with similar modus operandi.
Impeding someone’s movement, depending on circumstances, can lead to a kidnapping charge. In consideration of that charge, brandishing a weapon might well be justified. You do need to consider all the potential consequences, however, and realize that the DA, judge, and jury may see it differently.
How many points would the rabble be worth in Death race 2000?
Get out of your car, take closeup pics of each protester and post them on nextdoor Facebook instagram and let the world know what they do for a living.
Farcebook would suppress the post once they caught on. And doxxing could hurt people who were not part of the protest.
Good for that driver, but what about the rights and damages of the 475th person waiting in line behind all the traffic, with somebody dying in the back seat. There is no opportunity to challenge, explain, threaten, or otherwise deal with such idiots. I saw this frequently in Hawaii, with somebody driving 20mph on a 55 highway with one lane each direction, with a bumper sticker declaring “slow down, this ain’t the mainland” . In just 5 miles you would see several hundred cars behind them, no doubt some of them desperate to get where they were going. It happened weekly.
There should be serious consequences for blocking traffic, no matter what reason. Too simple minded to know where to turn? Pull over to figure it out. Making a political statement? Go to jail for a week for every man-hour you wasted of somebody else’s time. People died waiting? Life sentence.
Numerous times in the past few years on the US west coast, people have died in fires because somebody got panicky, disoriented, or just plain stupid, caused a major traffic jam, and lots of people burned (Paradise Fire) or nearly so. A fire near my house, several hundred cars blocked from escaping because a guy decided to stop in the middle of a major intersection to make a cell phone call. One may excuse inadvertent causes like disorientation. But deliberate blocking of traffic should be dealt with very strongly, and that should include just being inconsiderate.
‘Move before I pull my gun out!’
“She later told me the driver indeed grabbed a gun then, which my cam didn’t catch.”
An assertion without evidence and hearsay.
Absolutely – but at that stage I think the driver could reasonably have claimed to be feeling very threatened – the protestor went up and started abusing her after they said they would let her through.
I’m surprised anyone slowed down.
Blocking traffic isn’t easy when many people are driving at 70mph and aggressively anxious to keep their schedule. For many drivers and their passengers, patience is not a virtue.
Police have been killed on Interstate 95, 495 and Rte. 395, because the officer pulled over to check someone’s license and registration. The officer was a little too close to the road when an irrational driver swerved around to the road shoulder without slowing.
Virginia State Police patrol I95, Rte. 395 and I495 south of the Potomac River.
Maryland State Police patrol I495 north of the Potomac River.
Corrupt DC officials do not patrol anything outside of DC borders.
What’s more, repeat offenses by protestors against commuters will cause greater levels of refusals to stop.
To add to that difficulty, many of the impatient drivers are active duty FBI, CIA, DHS, Navy, Army, Marine and Air Force personnel. Most are fully armed and will have full protection of Federal Law Officers if they are forced to take action.
Traffic to DC starts around 4AM in my neighborhood, sixty miles south of DC. Federal employees of all services, departments and agencies often work at least until 3-4PM, many until 6-7PM. Twelve or more hours after they began their commute to work.
Tolerant is not what they will be when leaving work to commute home.
Train, bus, car pool, whatever, most commuters have similar time frames commuting to/from DC.
Coddled narcissistic immature activists may have to grow up a lot, before they ignorantly prove Darwin correct.
Not long ago, the Capitol Hill “hero” elected to abort an unarmed woman escaping disorder, in a prone position, and DC with pride held a parade to celebrate their progress.
All I hear is anger and hate. I really worry that the USA is headed towards a civil war. Stop the hate please.
You fail to hear the LOVE of liberty.
You fail to hear the LOVE of truth.
You fail to hear the LOVE of our wonderful country which is under attack from within by anti-freedom, anti-truth, forces.
You fail to hear the LOVE for all those weary, hardworking, decent, commuters, just trying to get to work……or to visit, perhaps for the very last time, a dear one.
Where there is no passion, there is no love.
You see, love underlies it all. Love is why we are angry.
And if it comes to a civil war to defend freedom, so be it.
Don’t worry, however. As with the Revolutionary War and the Civil War, we Americans will persevere many, many, years at peaceful resolution before taking up arms.
In short: if civil war happens, it will have been FORCED upon us.
*************
Do you seriously believe that if we simply refrain from expressing our righteous indignation all will be well?
Do you actually believe that a healthy person would NOT be angry at those trespassers?
********************
You seem confused. Therefore, I will say this firmly (not yelling, but, I can’t access bold or underline with my phone):
WE. ARE. NOT. THE. PROBLEM.
Time to go to church .. you scare me
LOL.
Griff? Is that you? 😆
Then vote to stop these mad left jackbooters Denise or there will be trouble-
New PayPal rule: The company can take $2,500 from your account for sharing misinformation (UPDATE) (msn.com)
I hear Paypal has withdrawn this censorship attempt after a big backlash when it became public. Musk denounced the plan.
Paypal is a leftwing organization that obviously thinks it should meddle in the politics of people. They have banned people over political thought and now they do this attempt to censor views they don’t agree with and actually fine violators.
Don’t do business with Paypal. Don’t give people like this power over your lives.
Yes, I am trying to figure out why democrats hate people.
Just how false and specious can you be?
Because of the Whiskey Rebellions, Thomas Jefferson summarized the event as:
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure.”
At the time when anyone could ferment corn/wheat/rye grains then run the result through a still to make whiskey. i.e., collecting the whiskey tax took more effort than it gathered in value.
Your right to voice your OPINION does not override my right to travel freely. Period. If you deliberately place yourself in harms way (and an ordinary person would consider a busy Interstate a dangerous place), then you assume the risk of getting hit. Your desire to voice your opinion does not absolve you of your personal responsibility of placing yourself in a hazardous location.
Another way to look at it is this is an example of Mother Nature “Thinning the Herd”.
And what does have to do with climate?
Read the article we are discussing, Griff-Denise. See if you can figure out why those infuriating protesters are parking their fannies on the freeway.
At 9:02, you said you were going to church. Go.
How does sitting in the road change the climate?
There is nothing anyone can do to change the climate, but if you’re going to give it a go, please don’t bother anyone else.
Whatever happened to good old-fashioned crackpots puttering in the shed?
These people need to be running up a horrendous bill with McMaster-Carr, buying parts and materials for their climate control machine.
Please stop the hate in these discussions
Please, go hang out on another thread, Karen.
Please, go hang out on another thread, Karen.
or better yet denice… super glue your fingers to the keyboard in protest.
Hey, joe x. I don’t see how I have been a “Karen,” here, but, if you will explain how I have been, I’ll try not to do whatever it is that made you describe me that way. To me, “Denise” is a “Karen.” I thought I was just a commenter commenting in a manner that many others on this thread are commenting (and whom you have not called “Karen”). 😕
LIKE your super glue idea for Denise 😄
I thought this forum was meant to be a serious discussion of climate change .. not a forum of anger and subliminal hate for ones fellow human beings, Is the USA on the point of a civil war?
No.
This forum is for whatever its host wants it to be.
Call the thread police. 😆 🤣
“Is the USA on the point of a civil war?”
The Left is pushing for it by creating a two-tiered justice
system in the US that gives them the power they stole from
us. The Left wants us to lash out with aggression via hate
speech and/or unnecessary violence beyond self-defense. The
wise response is to not indulge in hate speech & to only use
violence when necessary in self-defense. So you are right in
that hate speech shouldn’t even be done as it only plays into
what the Left wants us to do- react out of anger not maintain
discipline. Also, hate speech may NOT discourage others from
being uncivil when faced with a situation like this.
The key is keeping one’s cool & not striking out. When this
situation gets me angry, I try to limit that “venting” to myself
as sharing that anger & frustration with others could snowball
into something worse, which is what the Left wants. So we must
“keep our eyes on the prize” by staying disciplined as that makes
it as hard as possible for them to achieve their nefarious goal!
FAFO…
Look at the expression of the bloke with the beard in the first video. It’s like trying to reason with a goat.
Given what I’ve seen of that lot, perhaps one would have more success reasoning with a goat.
Why not incorporate these narcissistic protests into the Darwin awards?
What to do about these protestors when they block the road? I am reminded of the movie Bhowani Junction, when the Indian nationalists sat on a railway line in front of a locomotive. The bloke in charge (Stewart Grainger? – not going to check) got the Dalits to get the excrement from the toilets and threw it all over the protestors. They moved…….
another bunch of the XR tards here in aus glued themselves to a picasso today
so much for proximity alarms or security.
I like the rip em off it approach myself
and your rellie might have shed a tear Eric
damned if I would..I cry for things that arent trying to die like owls or echidnas
kangaroos and climate ferals not so much(at all)
They don’t do irony, using fossil fuel based super glue to fix themselves and their manmade material Hi-Viz to anything.
Had there been a pile-up with fatalities, they would be more guilty of murder than the police who arrested George Floyd. Far more intent and reckless disregard with more direct causation.
Maybe we just zap them with energy weapons (or whatever we have these days). Not to seriously injure them, but to make them super dizzy for a while.
Play a recorded loop of accordion music** at high volume while reciting Vogan poetry. The song should be “It’s a small World after all‘.
–
Then don’t unglue them from their spot.

Soon enough, they will rip off their own skin off trying to get the heck out of there.

*Preferably recorded at a beginner’s class of 8-year-old kids that’s held in an echo-filled school lunchroom.
Wonder if the protesters are paid for blocking traffic.
Besides possibly causing a death due to a medical emergency they are interfering with commerce and a person’s right to travel without being molested or delayed.
Stunts like this will continue until the government takes the side of it’s citizens going about their daily lives.
They have no right to interfere with other peoples lives. If they get run over it’s there own fault. There ahould be a law against being an idiot. These jokers should get a year in prison for blocking traffic and 5 years for being idiots.
These protesters must be considered enemies of a modern society. While they have a right to protest others have the right to protest against the protesters. While these enemies of the people are sitting in the road protesting why not have counter protesters cover them with foul smelling stuff which can be purchased on Amazon. There are a variety of items that can either be sprayed on the protester or used close to the protester that will cost them great discomfort. It’s time to fight back.
I bet they won a lot of converts with that stunt.
A big diesel dualie could have rolled some coal on ‘em.
It is amazing the lengths people will go to NOT read a graph.
No change in sea level rise for ALL of human history.
NONE
No change in hurricanes, droughts, floods, NONE.
Just the facts folks.
Why isn’t anyone commenting that it is illegal for pedestrians to be on our highways? In my mind, this includes those merely standing or sitting in traffic lanes; after all, they walked to their positions.
You are not allowed to carry a firearm in your car anywhere in DC.
This isn’t to say that I support the climate protestors.
