RIP Dr. Tim Ball, Climate Realist

This was sent to me by the Ball family Saturday evening. See note that follows.

It is with deep grief that we announce the passing of Dr. Timothy Ball. Tim made his end of life transition Sept 24th with his wife of over 60 years at his side, holding his hand.

At Tim’s request there will be no public service.

Our family will gather privately to celebrate Tim’s life together in the beautiful home he built with his wife, at the table that we had the blessing to have shared many meals together. One of Tim’s great joys was sitting back to watch his family talk, laugh & enjoy each others company. We will raise our glasses to toast the incredible man we all deeply love.

In Lieu of flowers or gifts the family requests that you join them in raising a glass in honour of Tim.

During this difficult time we ask that all communications be directed to: generalistjournal@gmail.com

Thank you,

The Ball Family

Given that the execrable Michael Mann never paid his court ordered costs, the Ball family has authorized me to start a GoFundMe on their behalf to cover funeral and other expenses.

I’m sure the climate skeptic community will rise to the occasion. I will make an announcement about the GoFundMe on WUWT tomorrow.

In the meantime, please see this video, honoring Dr. Ball and his lifetime of achevements: Tim Ball Receives the Lifetime Achievement in Climate Science Award.

Tim Ball was indeed a great man. He was my friend – we met in Ottawa 20 years ago.

In addition to frivolous and vexatious lawsuits lodged by green fraudsters that were intended to cripple him financially and silence him, Tom was subjected to a large number of threats to do him physical harm, from disciples of the same fraudulent green machine. Through it all, Tim soldiered on, speaking the scientific truth and striving to make the world a better place for humanity.

So long Tim my friend – a life well lived, a job well done.

Sad news. When I first started reading here on WUWT, Dr. Ball (and his son) was actively commenting here. He dispelled many of the early misconceptions I had about ‘Climate Science‘™ and presented many facts about climate science that I could immediately understand were not the handwaving sort that I was running across elsewhere.

I am only one of many that he helped educate. He was a positive source and force, touching many lives.

My sincere condolences to the Ball family. He will be missed, though his contributions will live on.

‘No scientific principles were harmed’ by the life of this man; he died with a clear professional conscience and integrity. There are many in a generation younger who opposed him who will not, at least one who is now destined to live the rest of his life while still in debt to Dr. Ball.

Sri Lanka ran their Woke President out of town, large numbers of outraged citizenry is way more effective than[snip]. But it has to be organized and it has to happen. Traditionally the left is better at organizing such things.

When the outrage finally backs up into suburbia maybe then people will begin to organize and protest. Until then the free life style of doing what you want when you want with whoever you want (cue the Mamas & Papas) and having the means to do it will prevail. People aren’t going to sacrifice the good life to hit the streets for a cause that doesn’t affect them yet.

RIP Tim Ball.
Deserving of every compliment here and more.

A sad day for authentic climate science but he leaves behind a legacy of decades of impactful work fighting for the scientific method. Touching millions of peoples lives that he never met but have learned from him and can build on that foundation of learning.

The world is a much better place because Dr. Tim Ball was in it. Especially the science world.

He may have died poor financially compared to other gifted men that use their gifts for self enriching projects. However, Dr.Ball was very rich in all the things that count more than money:

Integrity, intellectual honesty, selfless giving, extremely well respected. A teacher of more than just authentic science but also of principles.

He drained his bank accounts standing up for those things and none of that can be taken away from the great legacy of this wonderful man!

Dr.Tim, RIP and condolences to the Ball family.
For those who have not read Tim’s post here on May 1,2019 entitled “A Story of CO2 Manipulation”, I recommend it highly.
The table of the estimated emissions and the uptakes of CO2 from natural sources and the human emissions given there(from Dr.Dietrich Koelle) is particularly memorable.
It shows that the range of error for emissions of Oceans and Ground Bacteria exceeds the total for human emissions.
As Tim noted, the IPCC disclose the relevant information but they know few realise the significance.

My heartfelt condolences to Tim Ball’s wife and family. I came to know of Tim through his YouTube videos through the Heartland Institute. I was a geography student at the U of Sask in the late 1980’s, so his perspective on our climate and the problems he raised with climate change and global warming was an eye opener for me. His talks led me to begin to inform myself to all things of climate, and I thank him for his knowledge and his seeking the truth in regards to Meterology and weather and climate. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. Give to the fund towards his funeral costs. Go with God Tim.

Well, I wasn’t one of his students, but I knew long ago that Dr. Ball was a good man and a scientist who stuck to his convictions despite being hated for it by drecks such as Mann who continues to insult the decision of the court a win Dr. Ball gained because he fights and eventually defeats the dreck because he was correct in what he said.

I admire people like Dr. Ball who risked a lot to defend his legal and rational position.

Sad to hear of his passing. It seems it is the habits of saints to die unnoticed.

“Given that the execrable Michael Mann never paid his court ordered costs”

I would have thought that failure to pay the costs ordered by the court constitutes contempt of court and Mann could get arrested if he sets foot in Canada. Surely Dr Ball’s estate can sue him for the money.

It does appear that this is correct in Canadian Law. Mann is now subject to arrest and imprisonment if he sets foot in Canada.
