Yesterday, and a good response.

Put it on the list.
From Babylon Bee

Too many people having jobs at 12?
They all belong to coveringclimatenow.org that explains everything
Wow. BS, compiled.
On the ‘sad’ sea turtles being mostly female because of hot sand because of climate change thing.
That is actually how they have evolved—all three Florida species (green, loggerhead, leatherback—each feeding in a completely different manner, shallow seagrass, bottom shellfish, open water jellyfish respectively). One male can mate with many females, but on average once every three years for the females. Many females laying many eggs (typical clutch size depends on species but is about 40-60 eggs per nest) in our beach sand is a GOOD thing. (My beach is now covered with several marked off turtle nests. The beach is patrolled every morning at dawn during sea turtle breeding season to mark off any new nests. Hatchlings will begin to emerge in a couple of weeks from now after their about two month incubation.) This is because between seabirds, spiny lobsters, crabs, and big hungry fish, FWC estimates only 1 in 1000 Florida hatchlings survives to young adulthood. So Florida hot summers produce mostly female hatchlings, which is how sea turtles evolved and survive.
BTW, same exact thing with alligators in the Everglades (sex depends on average nest temperature, with hotter meaning females, colder males). And we have millions of gators again now after hunting was regulated.
Some of these warmunist alarmists need to study up on the basic biology of the animals they fear are climate endangered. Then stop spouting nonsense.
Where is their profit in not spouting nonsense?
That’s all true about T, Louisiana alligator industry knew that decades ago. Problem is that sea turtles are a success story, higher populations mean higher mortality. If turtle savers are messing with the sex ratio, it can be fixed. Just read a fancy Gulf of Mexico ecosystem model paper, included (“Full resolved model functional groups”) all the sea turtles except the hawksbill, but they did get birds (skimmers, brown pelican, terns), emphasized menhaden and jellyfish (moon and sea-nettles), think turtles like the cabbageheads (cannonballs for aquatic sports) better, and used euphasiids as some kind of necessary surrogate. Still looking for their validation, but they were happy with their conclusions.
On a remote sand cay off the Great Barriier reef, the wildlife worriers are saying that the annual turnout of turtles laying eggs there is reducing.
But hang on, maybe that sand cay wasn’t even there 100 years ago (one turtle lifetime), and won’t be there in 100 years time either.
And maybe the turtles know this, and aren’t that worried about it, because they’ve already got other spots picked out.
Again, worriers worrying on behalf of species that aren’t that worried themselves?
The male turtles will be busy that’s all the difference will be
Warmists / alarmists either 1) are not qualified to speak on matters of science, or 2) are on the climate payroll.
But, but, but what is a female?
Well, new Biden nominated SCOTUS Justice doesn’t know ‘because not a biologist’, but sea turtles do. Females lay eggs in beach nests, males don’t.
“But, but, but what is a female?”
She says she is a female, so now I’m not so sure.
Kinda looks like Bill Gates in lipstick and a wig.
There are some things you cannot unsee.
This reminds me of the joke where a politician is sitting next to a beautiful lady at dinner and tries his chances by moving his hand up her leg hidden by the table.
She turns to him and, in a husky, sexy voice says “Don’t scream when you reach my balls. I’m a spy”
“but what is a female?”
Quoth Ogden Nash:
The turtle lives twixt plated decks
Which practically conceal its sex
I think it’s clever of the turtle
In such a fix, to be so fertile.
You should know better … that old stuff is not gender appropriate.
You have to ask the turtle what gender it identifies as not just assign a sex to it.
You did not notice that the paper deals with “laying-eggs turtles”. According to the authors and oddly enough, it is an unprecedented catastrophe the higher proportion of “laying-eggs turtles” compared with that of “male-suprematist turtles”.
Kip Hansen posted links to this one over a year ago:
Covering Climate Now
Ten Best Practices
Can you say Propaganda Mill? I knew you could.
Chilling to read those ten. They are masters of propaganda, for sure. Reminds me of ’30s Germany somehow.
From your link:
Op-eds that detract from the scientific consensus, or ridicule climate activism, don’t belong in a serious news outlet.
Pure propaganda only then
“Op-eds that detract from the scientific consensus, or ridicule climate activism, don’t belong in a serious news outlet.”
Now do these consensuses:
– the food pyramid
– ulcers are caused by stomach acid
– continents don’t drift
Washington DC lightning strike that killed two offers climate warning
Climatism is sliding into occultism.
It slid into occultism a long time ago.
James Delingpole coined the term ‘eco-crucifixes’ for wind turbines.
After thirty years of metastasis there are maybe 400,000 turbines operating globally and increasing despite zero evidence that they have made any difference to the global climate.
Fires floods heatwaves hurricanes even lightning strikes can all be alleviated by building more and more of the wretched things as if they have some apotropaic magic power to ward off evil.
I think it has become “Ecoccultism”.
yeah two oldies who were so daft they sheltered under a TREE!
understood the young dude doing it..cos thick but -old enough to know better my mum would have said
Climatism is sliding into occultism
Nah! The whole devilish mess is occultism amongst out glitterati becoming evident to the common people.
Climatism is puss oozing OUT OF occultism.
Think Death Cult.
It’s kinda sad.
I used to think of Reuters as a company that provided very dry, comment-free reporting of events.
Reuters hasn’t been a news organization at least since they published a photoshopped picture of bombing in Beirut.
There’s a history of the organisation here
I recall journalistic standards started slipping 20 years ago. They lurched down sharply after the Thompson merger in 2008.
that was quite a while back before they ditched most on the ground all over sources and seem to be aggregating via mostly India sources
“A theory that explains everything, explains nothing”
― Karl Popper
Just reading on the Spectator that the EU is going to cover the Nth sea with 1000s of wind mills and 3 artificial islands. These wind mills will be 1km apart with each needing a 100m diameter concrete base weighting 1000 tons and many 1000s of km of cables and anchor chains. Can someone please tell me how that’s good for the environment? Just because you can’t see the seabed doesn’t mean it’s not a sensitive environmental ecosystem.
That’s the explanation.
And no comment from them about leaking oil from the gearboxes?
fish have ears so infrasound will be fun
seabirds migrate too…splat!
and a storm and a large tanker might provide weeks of entertainment
If everything is attributed to climate change
then nothing can be attributed to climate change.
Even worse, climate change is both the cause and the effect of itself.
Reuters – Springbok triumph adds to woes of embattled All BlacksThe embattled All Blacks have suffered yet another loss, managing just one victory from their last six Test matches due to Climate Change
Another benefit of global warming!
Reuters went full on TDS in 2016. They had no real place to go but more alarmism. News reportage? Meh!
Gender imbalance? Why don’t they just transition?
Years ago when the madness started it was fashionable to be a Ms until people worked out that something was Missing.
got it wrong sport
we were misses them a mrs and then when we ditched the fellas a Ms was a viable option,
we gave the Mrs a Miss;-)
we werent faking our sex or claiming a gender we werent
“Childhood obesity and inactivity increasing because of climate change. ”
The news is full of this type of BS.
The lighting strike at the White House is clearly a warning to Brandon from a higher authority.
More likely that than “climate change “TM.
…..the Heavens opened, and a deep voice boomed “Damn! Missed!”
send him out to look for acorns then, pleeeease
hes squirrely so it should work
From the Reuters article:
“More heat can draw more moisture into the atmosphere, while also encouraging rapid updraft – two key factors for charged particles, which lead to lightning”.
“Because heat and moisture are often needed to make lightning, most strikes happen in the summer”.
Have the ever heard of “dry lightning”? That’s probably how most wildfires in the Western US start. In the Four Corners, very high humidity is definitely NOT needed for lightning. Also, I got a kick out of this gem:
“The hot, humid conditions in Washington, D.C., on Thursday were primed for electricity. Air temperatures topped out at 94 degrees Fahrenheit (34 degrees Celsius) – or 5F (3C) higher than the 30-year normal maximum temperature for Aug. 4, according to the National Weather Service”.
As if daily temperatures never stray a few degrees from average. 94 in DC in early August is pretty normal for summer, folks. Not dead average, but well within “normal”…
Yes, and DC is often humid during the spring, summer and fall.
I still think that R, McKitirck´s finding from last year (attribution is fundamentally flawed, at climate ETC https://judithcurry.com/2021/08/18/the-ipccs-attribution-methodology-is-fundamentally-flawed/
or even as public science video: https://www.heartland.org/multimedia/videos/uns-ipcc-gets-it-wrong-on-greenhouse-gas-effect) should be brought up any time sime newspaper article mentions climate attribution.
State of the art, current science says that such attribution is not possible.
Alarmist outlets try to ignore McKitirck´s findings, but we need to remind them that ignoring his article (or ad hominem attacks against him) are anti-science.
I’m amazed at the number of people who have no idea of the real amount of co2 that is natural verse man made, and that water vapour doesn’t show up on GHG list
Nice, Reuters. Way to go, exploiting a family’s tragedy to promote your propaganda. Never let some rando’s loss go to waste.
It is very clear that Reuters are hyping up this story and did not even ask or report basic questions of their experts about this particular lightning strike. So much for Reuters professional journalism.
This lightning did not “strike” a person as reported – it struck a tree that was *inside* the WH fence.
Why did these people get affected when they *outside* the perimeter fence?
Clearly due to step potential of lightning current flowing in the concrete below their feet.
Probably touching the fence which clearly enhances the shock path through their body.
I do wonder what other electrical infrastructure below the concrete pavement could have contributed to the severity of their shock and injuries?
Keep you feet together in a lightning storm and do not touch any other objects (even wood).
Last night I watched a documentary on travel about great railway journeys and the episode featured the Indian-Pacific train from Sydney New South Wales to Adelaide South Australia, the first segment of the train that later crosses to Perth Western Australia from Adelaide.
The commentator mentioned climate change several times including the 2019/2020 bushfire season bushfires being an example of climate change, the train was passing through the Great Dividing Range (Blue Mountains) where seasonal bushfires have been taking place since long before white colonisation and settlement in 1788. The eucalyptus forests are fire hazards even when well managed to reduce the bushfire potential.
Later as the train passed through the Clare Valley wine region of South Australia comment was made about the excellent growing conditions including above average rainfall.
musta beena decent yr for Clare it CAN and does get hot n dry I lived round there for 16yrs.
and what did they have to say about the Nullabor plains with super heat dry and NULL Arbor ie no trees(worth speaking of) try n blame co2 for that did they?
Please note how worried China is about the dreaded warming tipping point we are told must be dealt with urgently, climate emergency;
“China has suspended cooperation with the United States in the fight against climate change as part of a range of measures in response to Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, which also included sanctions on the House Speaker and her family.”
We knew China was increasing emissions every year and building more coal fired power stations and others to build on economic prosperity regardless of the climate hoax developed nations are being subjected to, but ignoring the tipping point by suspending cooperation is amusing, not so much for climate hoaxers.
China is likely very happy to have Nancy’s trip as an excuse to “suspend” the CC swamp. It might not be a proportional response but it will be a memorable reason to give at the next UN get-together. You know, Nancy made us do it. And actually firing the missiles certainty adds weight to their determination to make this point memorable. Their enigmatic strategy always confounds western MSM who can’t think beyond tomorrow’s 5-word ticker.
If you wonder why the BBC, Reuters, etc all hype the same bullsh*t and ignore the same topics, you obviously haven’t seen this:
All singing from the same carefully selected hymn sheet.
While we’re talking about ‘Lightning’ – get a load of this happening right across Europe right now.
Easily 3,000 miles wide – is this what you call a Derecho?
Little bit creepy innit
A line missed by Cole Porter:
“Even Florida turtles in climate change do it,…”
“Washington DC lightning strike that killed two offers climate warning” It certainly does, when a thunderstorm rolls in don’t stand around vertical metal objects, such as that big assed fence they were all beside. Morons.
They have to engage in attribution since they cannot point to the global temperatures to show global warming. We need to respond to every attribution article by referencing the pause and stating, shouldn’t global warming be required to validate the theory of AGW? Then, we should show the lack of correlation between rising co2 levels and actual temperatures.
