We’re having a heat wave!
… and it’s totally normal

Climate Change Roundtable Ep19:

Participate in the chat on the YouTube stream LIVE at Noon CT today and every Friday to get your questions answered.

The Heartland Institute’s James Taylor, Anthony Watts, and Linnea Lueken cover the heat wave that gripped much of the United States this week. Are the world’s hottest cities really becoming uninhabitable because of man-caused climate change? The answer is “no,” and the climate and energy experts at Heartland will explain why.

We will also cover “climate anxiety” among our misinformed youth, William Shatner crying about the planet he viewed from space, Joe Biden’s schizophrenic energy policy and messaging, and whether humans are to blame for the Great Salt Lake getting lower.

Tune in LIVE and participate in the chat. We’ll put you on screen and answer your questions.

Indeed we are having a heatwave in the South England today. Even the BBC say most of people are enjoying it while ‘global heating’ zealots are keeping low profile so far

No Vuk, not only are they not keeping a low profile but they were “at it” even before the min-heat wave got going. The BBC posted this predictable garbage after the first half-decent hot day of the summer yesterday: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61831290
25 degrees!!! Oooh errr scary climate change!
It included this:
“Dr Mark McCarthy, head of the Met Office’s National Climate Information Centre, said climate change had increased the average temperatures of UK summers and the likelihood of experiencing more extreme temperatures during hot spells and heatwaves.
He said: “Reaching 34C during June is a rare, but not unprecedented, event in the historical climate records for the UK.
“But if it should happen this week it would be notable that it would have occurred on three days during the last six Junes.””
Cutting through it, they are not really saying anything of substance but the subliminal drip-feed of propaganda is clear as day.
Glasgow, by the way, is experiencing no such “heat wave”. In fact it’s averaging 10C cooler than London over the last few days, despite being only 400 miles or so (if I recall) north of London. Strangely, the BBC isn’t talking about Glasgow.

Hi Ian, I was referring two or three tv news bulletins, I did see earlier during the day.

In another perceptive news item on BBC yesterday, they pointed out that 33 degrees was reached in England, but only 16 in parts of Scotland, and that “England was, therefore, twice as hot as Scotland”
For Fahrenheit lovers, they might have been surprised that at 91, England was suddenly only 50% hotter than Scotland’s 61

A one day ‘heatwave’ in Suffolk. The next 3 days are forecast to have highs of 20, 17 and 18

Omg, breaking 20c again? Oh the humanity! Might not even need your woolens.

30 degrees C today (nice!), 20 degrees C forecast for tomorrow. At that rate, we will be at absolute zero inside 30 days. 🙂

Quit exaggerating, after 30 days, it will still be 3.15 Kelvin.

Now if we consider 31 days, it will be -6.85 K 😝

Highest June temperatures in the UK.

England: 35.6 °C (96.1 °F), Camden Square, 29th June 1957 & Southampton, 28th June 1976.

Scotland: 32.2 °C (90.0 °F) Ochtertyre, Perth and Kinross 18th June 1893

Northern Ireland: 30.8 °C (87.4 °F), KnockarevanFermanagh 30th June 1976

Wales: 33.7 °C (92.7 °F), Machynlieth, Powys18th June 1893

The summer of 76 was a wonderful time to be alive, hot sun and even hotter ladies (or gents if that’s what floats your boat – no judgement here)

May I suggest adding a link in these announcements to a site to convert “Noon CT” to the readers’ time zone?
I don’t mean to automatically change the announcement time in the post to the reader’s time zone but a link to site that would do it for them.

Who is having a heat-wave????
Here in Oregon, spring hasn’t really started yet. Most days start off in the low 50’s (°F) and max out (if we are luck) in the upper 60’s or lower 70’s.

Rain most days – especially when the weather models predict sunny skies.

I think so far this year we have had 3 days where the temps touched 80 (and of course that was at PDX – the airfield, within the Portland heat island).

Couple hundred miles north of you (Whidbey Island). Highest we’ve gotten is 74, and that lasted for about 30 minutes. Today, didn’t get above 64.

No heat wave in Western Washington. In fact it’s probably 10F cooler than usual this time of year. Also wetter than usual. There’s nothing global going on at all.

The open question today is will this summer’s heatwave(s) be as bad as 2011 or 2020?
Like elsewhere in the past week, the USA had high UV Index, leading to the heatwave:

Sorry for any confusion over this, but the labelled dates for 2021 & 2022 aren’t for 2020!

I fixed those dates. Below are the current US UVI and UVI alert maps:
