According to Al Jazeera, Arab states are responding to Ukraine war shortages, by pledging to “keep pumping oil until the last drop” to assist with the transition to renewable energy.
‘Who’s talking climate change now?’ energy producers say
With the Russian invasion of Ukraine boosting energy costs and reducing availability, proponents are pushing back against fossil fuel eradication.
Proponents of fossil fuel production hit back against efforts to tackle the climate crisis by urgently phasing out the burning of hydrocarbons, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine severely disrupts energy supplies.
…
“We definitely at this time need to include all available resources,” UAE Minister of Energy Suhail al-Mazrouei said at an energy forum in Dubai.
“We cannot ignore or say we are going to abandon certain production. It’s just not the right time, whatever reason you have,” he said, adding that doing so would make energy prices too high for millions around the world.
…
The UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and other international bodies have said that to address climate change there should not be new investments in fossil fuel infrastructure, the fossil fuels most responsible for climate change must phase out over time.
…
OPEC projected that more oil will be needed through 2040 and beyond, particularly in Asia.
…
“Look at what is happening today. Who’s talking about climate change now? Who’s talking about attending to energy security first and foremost?” said Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
Without energy security, countries will lose the means to tackle climate change, he said.
…
Saudi Arabia, which pledged to have net-zero emissions by 2060, is similarly cutting emissions domestically while vowing to keep pumping oil until the last drop.

Beat that one Babylon Bee.
With President Biden’s administration begging Arab states to pump more oil, they get to be climate champions and wealthy oil producers all at the same time.
If only President Biden would extend the same courtesy to US domestic oil producers.
I think John Kerry is even more demented than Joe Biden.
But in a more coherent fashion. LMAO
Kerry has mo hair for sure.
But whose hair?
There is demented one on this side of Atlantic.
BoJo told industry leaders he has “a dream” that a giant floating wind farm could provide “gigawatts of energy and do it within a year”, according to a government source.
He doesn’t want the PM after the PM after him to be opening them – he wants to be opening them himself. – The Telegraph is reporting.
Bojo resides in fantasy land.
He is a complete moron. Just shows how desperate the situation in the UK has become when a lying clown like Johnson is Prime Minister.
The obvious question to ask the windmill cretins is – how will more windmills provide more energy when there is not enough wind?
A bigger moron than Trudeau?
Not possible
Justin is and always will be the champ
Domestic energy prices rose by 54% on 01/04/22 in the UK. He is a moron.
They have no chance to get their last drop- too corrupt.
Thanks to the “big guy” and Putin, strange bedfellows, the Arab states not only get to ramp up production but they also get to sell it at more than double the price.
If I were in their sandals, I would play it up the same way.
Agree .. lessons are best given to greentards the hard way because they are too stupid to understand it the easy way.
Nothing new: it follows the First Law of Green Economy.
They will need the money to buy weapons of war to defend themselves from Iran after Brandon is done with his new agreement freeing Iran of current economic restrictions.
“keep pumping oil until the last drop to assist with the transition to renewable energy.” – LOL.
Well you have to admit that is a plan that will actually work. Keep using fossil fuels until that point “somewhere over the rainbow” where we’ve figured out either cheap efficient storage for intermittent energy sources or fusion / 4/5th gen nuke.
It’s called common sense and sounds a lot better than the alternative Dirty Harry approach – “you’ve got to ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do ya, punk?“
What is common sense?
That very rare commodiry.
“Never let a disaster go to waste” seems to work for both sides except in this case it’s beneficial to all. How long will Americans let this administration inhibit fossil fuel production before making their voices heard?
November 2022
The election is in November, new Congress and Senate start business two months later.
Oddly no talk of asking your frigid neighbours to the North for the same undertaking. Our Prime Moron in power sees fit to double down on our oil patch while at the same time promising to increase supply to alleviate the shortage. Insanity or ignorance?
“ Insanity or ignorance?”
Definitely, yes.
Who’s talking about climate change now?
The western media
Parliament
White House
EU
UNhinged
Etc
Only the converted take any notice.
Only the politicos and their cronies who can financially benefit take any notice.
Who’s talking global warming now?
Here is the length of the pause in warming shown with AUH Australian data just in for March 2022.
No warming for 9 years and 8 months. Geoff S

Arabian oil is in a way like Maxwell House coffee – it’s good to the last drop.
“If only President Biden would extend the same courtesy to US domestic oil producers.”
Can individual oil wells join OPEC?
And, the Green Bozos will pay dearly for that last drop.
The donor groups control Biden every day. The voters and citizens, not so much
They need to increase production before we do. If they can supply the oil we need, it’s likely our numbskull lefties will fight to keep our production turned off. The Middle East keeps its customers and we remain dependent.
Maybe the oligarchs running the US and Canada are playing the long game.
Perhaps they are figuring that since OPEC projected that more oil will be needed through 2040 and beyond, particularly in Asia, the middle east will be out of oil by then and will have the vast resources of North America at their disposal to dictate to the rest of the world.
Total crap theory but if you listened the crap coming out of the WEF, it doesn’t seem all that improbable that it could be figured into their plans.
