Ahead of International Polar Bear Day (27 February) this year, polar bear habitat is as abundant as it has been for decades. This is a tough time for polar bears, many of which will be finding it hard to find seals to eat, as newborn seals won’t be an available food resource for about a month in most areas. Thin and hungry bears are dangerous.

Keeping in mind that dark blue and purple areas (first year ice) are the best hunting habitat for polar bears because they are the best habitat for seals:

Good to know everything is normal, if not a little messy: polar bears eat seals, sharks eat tuna, and Russia invades neighbor.
And what was Obama doing in Ukraine 🤔
Obama sent VP Biden to Ukraine, and Biden demanded that Ukraine stop investigating the corrupt company paying Hunter Biden influence money, part of which went to VP Biden ((from book Red-Handed, by Schwizer).
Obama wasn’t doing much of anything in Ukraine, and he certainly wasn’t invading it with tanks, missiles, and 200,000+ troops.
Obama invaded the Ukraine with the Biden family, much more destructive. Let’s Go Brandon!
Put sever sanctions on polar bears that cross from Russian to European Arctic!
Bill McKibben: “This is how we defeat Putin and other petrostate autocrats: Imagine a Europe that ran on solar and wind power”
Fools are born every day and with age some mature into idiots.
“Imagine a Europe that ran on solar and wind power”
We don’t need to imagine it – it’s bloody freezing!
Wait…so you want to sanction Red polar bears?….
Nah – Ol’ Weepy Bill was born an idiot. He’s matured into a full-on Brandon now.
Correct/realistic version: “Imagine a Europe without heat, transport fuels and electricity.”
‘Medieval Times’ here we come! For real!
Those, indeed, were the days…. of cold and hunger and drudgery…..
Our ancestors gave up wind power for fossil fuel power.
But, we know better.
Now that’s wind power … for pumping water.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts. Bertrand Russell
Things are normal
But but but
“ Climate change has intensified the global water cycle by up to 7.4% – compared with previous modelling estimates of 2% to 4%,”
“ Sohail said the volume of extra freshwater that had already been pushed to the poles as a result of an intensifying water cycle was far greater than previous climate models suggest.”
This article isn’t based on modelling so it can’t be right. /s
“ Climate change has intensified the global water cycle by up to 7.4%”
“Up to” includes all the negative numbers, so I can agree with that.
About 60% of a human is water, the population of the world has increased by about 6.5 billion since 1840. Each human weighs, say, 60 kg. So about 250 million tonnes of water has been removed from the water cycle, enough to make the likes of Griff wet his pants. More climate damage by humans
I notice that the Icebreaker Odin is still needed to keep the Baltic navigable. Darn! Yet another year no patrol in Antarctica to study the melting glaciers there.
Well this year the seaice surrounding Antarctica is the lowest in the satellite period, area about 1.2 m million km^2.
Since 1979, the total annual Antarctic sea ice extent has increased about 1 percent per decade.
This year’s extent is already higher than that recorded in 1974 of 14.4 million km2 (Parkinson and Cavalieri, J. Geo. Res. 1989).
This can’t be true! AlGore:TheGoreacle said the Arctic is totally ice free and tropical. Manbearpig would never lie! 😉
Maybe Al Gore and John Kerry should form a duet.
I thought they already did?
GLSEA (The Great Lakes Surface Environmental Analysis) is a digital map of the Great Lakes surface water temperature and ice cover which is produced daily at GLERL. The lake surface temperatures are derived from NOAA polar-orbiting satellite imagery.
