Biden scientific integrity report validates Young v. EPA

From Junk Science

Steve Milloy,

After 30+ years of study, observation and experience, I can say with confidence that there is little intersection between government “science” and scientific integrity. That the Biden administration would issue a report (Web | PDF) on science integrity in the wake of COVID and the EPA science advisor massacre is pure hubris. Nonetheless, there is one part of the report that entirely validates the plaintiff’s case in the ongoing Young v. EPA lawsuit.

The report admits that the government advisory committees — like EPA’s Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC), the subject of Young v. EPA — should include industry scientists. But CASAC does not. Hence, Young v. EPA. The trial court decision could come at any time now.

That’s a really good interview with William Harper, The guy was skeptical enough to ask good questions, and Harper gave very convincing answers.

But the climate change activists do not want to look at facts – their eyes glaze over. To almost every one of those that I have dealt with, they just don’t want to look at data or facts that go against their narrative.. It’s our major problem here and on WUWT in general.

Yes, agreed. The problem is its a narrative that is bought into as a whole, and it makes no sense, from the idea of the supposed climate emergency to the crazed desire to cover the country and the coasts with wind turbines and solar panels while the rest of the world looks on with polite amazement and gets on with growing their economies. None of the individual elements of the story make sense on their own, still less as a total policy narrative. But the faithful don’t feel able to tolerate questioning of any of them.

My friend Will Happer is a retired professor of physics at Princeton University. Other noted professors of physics at Princeton included Robert Oppenheimer and Albert Einstein.
As I recall, Princeton has more Nobel prizes in physics than any other institution. It is THE elite school for physics.
Also, someone asked about John Christy. He is located at University of Alabama Huntsville along with his colleague Roy Spencer.
Both John and Roy are highly accomplished individuals with great personal integrity.
I correspond with all these individuals but I’m not at liberty to hand out their email addresses.
I dictated this note so apologies for any typos.

Refusal to debate the facts is a propaganda tactic that was promoted by Lenin, Goebbels, and will recently Alinsky. Their strategic approach is to shout down and intimidate any opposition and to never debate the facts.
When you see this approach, recognize it as a tactic of the deceitful and call them on it.
I have observed that when leftists do debate, which is rare, they will invent facts on the spot to support their arguments. It’s never about the truth, it’s all about “the end justifies the means”.

Very much agree. Those of us long in the tooth well recognise this; but not so the younger generation unfortunately. The Communist mantra of “The end justifies the means” removes matters of honesty, integrity and ethics and it is this which has gone viral with the sophisticated methods now available on the internet.
To me it stems from the UN ands its acolytes such as the IPCC which over the years have been infiltrated by covert leftwing/marxist activists aided by the recruitment UN policy.
Recorded comments by some of the top officials in the UN reveal that it’s true objective is to replace the current democratic capitalism withe a Communist style economic system.🤯. The science being irrelevant.

He said that more CO2 is CAUSING more green…..
That fits into a narrative where heat trapped is by more greening.
Does anyone here still have contact with John Christy who initially alerted us to this?

I believe that greening probably helps stabilize temperatures, but I doubt that it contributes to much, if any overall warming. Either way, of course greening is certainly a good thing, and any slight increased warming it contributes is also a good thing. Win-win.

I quoted the report from John Christie. It seems the trapped heat is considerable. Note also my own result for Las Vegas and Tandil.

If an “Advisory Committee” is going to be “Scientific” it should include the mix of participants referred to in the Federal Advisory Committee Act. Almost certainly this mix of participants will generate some opposing views, but the demands for science to be introspective and analytical should deal with this. The current US Administration is charging toward outcomes in favor of the Looney Left and does not want any of this balance nonsense. I have dealt with the EPA, OSHA, BLM, and Forest Service my whole career, and the way their policies lurch dramatically from liberal to conservative, depending on the wishes of the Administration, is astonishing (it’s actually worse, but astonishing will do). Young vs. EPA is against the abrupt termination of all Industry members in Advisory Committees, especially at the current EPA, filed in October, 2021. The case appears to be a slam dunk, that is, if it gets to the Supreme Court, where sanity currently resides.

The left is going bonkers over the fact that the Supreme Court ruled that OSHA did not have the authority to issue Biden’s vaccine mandates.

They are outraged that the Supreme Court does not realize that there is a “crisis” and that this crisis means that any limits on government power are going to result in “people dying”.

The left goes ape shiite whenever someone gets between them and power.

That ruling still threw healthcare employees to the wolves. It allowed the government to coerce people with mandates or lose their jobs.
It follows the method of incrementalism that the “progressives” have employed for over a hundred years to slowly increase government control over every aspect of life.
In my opinion, coercing anyone with getting an injection of what should still be considered experimental, violates the Nuremberg Code.

“Biden scientific integrity”

Three words that do not sit well together in the same sentence.

Biden has no integrity and neither does [politically loaded] science

It only took them a year to turn “scientific integrity” into an oxymoron. “Biden scientific integrity” is probably the first triple I’ve seen. Take any two word combinations, e.g. ‘Biden’ + ‘scientific’, ‘Biden’ + ‘integrity’ or ‘scientific’ + ‘integrity and each is an oxymoron. In fact, take the name of practically any government agency plus the word ‘integrity’ and you now have another oxymoron. It sure is a shame what that boy has done in just one year.

It has long passed the point when the grant-obtaining process and university employment of any kind became a conflict of interest easily as important as the conflict when tobacco company “scientists” claimed inhaling nicotine was as safe as petting a kitten.

But those who practice the climate religion are utterly blind to this. To them, science is “settled” and anyone who contradicts that is in the employ of an “oil company” or some similar demonic entity.

Which would be fine, but, unlike those who practice other religions who tithe to support their churches, the climate religion requires that the faithful get a free ride and everyone else has to tithe.

Joe
and even if your world view in no way resembles “right wing extremists” then your questioning whether warming will get anywhere near a catastrophe must mean you belong to and support this group.

Prof Will Happer is a brilliant physicist. He demolishes argument after argument of the alarmists – with real science not computer models. We have all heard the expression, garbage in garbage out. Real science corrects itself by physical observation and empirical measurements while the models regularly seek to adjust the data to fit their graphs.

President Eisenhower, in his Farewell Speech, hit the nail on the head. The most-remembered phrase is the “military-industrial complex”, but he also extended it to include the potential for government control of science through academia. His predictions are far, far better than any “climate scientist” or “climate model”.

“Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades.

In this revolution, research has become central; it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.

Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been over shadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded.

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.”

Amen.

There is NO scientific integrity in anything our governments have done on Climate or Covid.
It’s been a steaming pile of alarmist falsehoods from the start – wolves stampeding the sheep for political and financial gain, to the great detriment of humanity and the environment.

Please note the weasel words “Agencies need to clarify which conflicts of interest disqualify individuals from participating on different committees…”
So they can claim conflict of interest to stack the committee with only those who agree with their political stance. Typical verbiage for the government to use as a work around for those who they do not want because of their opposition.
