Justin Rowlatt’s Fake Californian Wildfires Report

From NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

By Paul Homewood

The lies are coming thick and fast from the BBC this week:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-59253838

Before European settlement, several millions of acres burned every year, and large parts of the state were open parkland.

It was systematic fire suppression in the modern era, which has led to the build of combustible undergrowth and crowded forests which is now responsible for the giant conflagrations we now see, not climate change.

California Dept of Forestry & Fire Protection

Although rainfall in California has been particularly low this year, similarly dry years occurred in 1924 and 1977, and there is no trend to the state becoming drier:

And in the longer scheme of things, California’s climate is colder now than most of the time since the Ice Age, as evidenced by upper tree lines in the White Mountains:

HH Lamb: Climate, History and the Modern World

All in all, this is an extremely shoddy piece of reporting by Justin Rowlatt, who evidently is the BBC’s go to guy for climate disinformation.

There were 5 “global warming” related articles on CBC’s main RSS feed this morning. And in the past week or so, there were 4-5 every single day.

Our tax-funded Pravda is not far behind the BBC.

The first thing the Marxists do in a putsch is take control of the media. The control seems to be complete for the CBC, BBC and ABC. Part of the reason that the fascist socialists work so hard to discredit the Internet, or social media as they like to characterise it, is because the truth keeps leaking through thanks to sites like WUWT, Rebel News and SciHub. Novaya Pravda CBC Branch has blatant lies in every newscast and in virtually every show they host, all day long, every day. It is terrifying to watch the slow strangulation of truth. I have stopped listening except for just enough to know the enemy. However, many people are clearly enthralled by the propaganda. They are outside my door screaming “Burn the carbon witches”.

It used to be a quintet, but SIR – “Jim’ll fix it” Savile kicked the bucket some years ago. He was knighted in 1990.

The real fossil, Attenborough 1985 knighted and “multiple queenie award winner” is soon to drop dead, as he’s exceeded the sell-by date, so it will become a trio.

Don’t be suprised if Mcgrath and Harrabin get new year/birthday honours before the Queen finally pegs it.

The only BBC personality that used to be fun filled viewing was Jeremy Clarkson, but I suspect he was shown the door for burning way too many fossil fuels, while having a pile of laughs, with his side kicks May and Hammond.

On the Beeb site today…

What are fossil fuel subsidies?

These take two forms:

production subsidies – tax breaks or direct payments that reduce the cost of producing fossil fuels

consumption subsidies – energy price cuts for consumers, such as setting fixed prices at petrol stations

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/59233799

A tax break or reduction is not a subsidy when a company has explored and won a resource out of its own pocketses. It’s a bonus revenue stream for the government; one it would not have had.

The amount of tax and [green] charges consumers are forced to pay on energy make some intervention for the poorest etc inevitable.

On petrol we pay tax on the fuel and then that fuel tax is taxed again as VAT – a double whammy.

The BBC – a narrative driven propaganda machine.

And the money used to buy said fuel has already been taxed as income tax. A triple whammy.

Here in Oz what you pay at the pump includes what is referred to as a road tax, fair enough, funds go to road infrastructure etc. What if you don’t use that fuel (mainly diesel) on the road ie farming, mining and fishing? Well you get a rebate. The wacho bunch class that as a “fossil fuel subsidy”, say no more

Sorry sticky keyboard fingers: The BBC is all over COP26 explaining what it has achieved or not but as usual objectivity is nowhere to be seen or heard!!! However, as usual the underlying trend of commentary is the Global wealth re-distribution to “poorer” countries that cannot “afford” to adapt to climate change/globul warming, so give them lots of Western taxpayers cash, apparently they have no coal, oil, or gas to exploit, although equally apparently nobody has had a look-see to find any. Of course no mention of the world’s largest oil deposit discovered to date on coastal Brazil, which I recall former President & climate guru Obama promised the Brazilian President no shortage of American technology to exploit to the full!!! The New World Order is in full swing in Glasgow. Oh how Goebbels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol-Pot would all be so proud. If my history serves, Stalin was the only one who arose from a impoverished background & seized the teachings of Lenin, the rest all came from moderately wealthy, well educated backgrounds, that’s why I am always suspicious of people from those backgrounds who lecture others on how they should behave, act, speak, & generally live their lives, the restrictions are not for them, only for the peasants!!! It’s a beautiful morning here in Devon, must be Climate Change of course, but apparently it’s could get a tad wetter later in the day, but I of course know why that is!!!

I love the gentle tugging at the heartstrings!
Instead of providing ANY evidence that there is some science behind his claims, Justin uses the techniques developed by Hollywood screenwriters and Nazi propagandists to appeal to the emotions of his readers.
For centuries before the arrival of European settlers, the indigenous peoples of North America practiced fire forestry to improve hunting and clear space for agriculture. Like the Norse settlers of Greenland; we have, to our peril, denigrated the practices of other cultures without trying to understand the science therein!
Western US forests must be thinned; either mechanically or with controlled burns. If one of those options isn’t used then the result will be megafires that do far more damage than wise timber harvesting ever did! One way or another, the forest WILL be renewed. You can harvest trees for lumber and biomass conversion, or you can just burn them; and, of course, devout Greentards claim we should do neither! Unlike Christianity, Climastrology suppresses science!

I learnt from a forestry chap years ago that regular thinning in forests was needed to allow the weaker trees to grow strong, otherwise the already strong trees would “sap” the nutrients from the soil for their own benefit!!! The narrative/propaganda is controlled by the MSM and dissent is suppressed. When is the last time you read or viewed on TV news contrary opinions to AGW? Even so called “Conservative” or “Right Wing” news rarely attack AGW misinformation beyond calling it alarmist. I heard the broadcast on R4. It featured a long description of how the giant sequoia’s had evolved to survive fire but now the fires are so big they are reaching the high branches and killing them… for the first time in thousands of years.

And yet right at the end of the report they had a glimmer of hope. A redwood was still alive under the nightmarish black scorching!

So the whole report had been wrong and nothing special had happened. The trees have evolved for fires and fires are what they got.

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic.

Not you but some people hold the opinion that 1,500 yo trees should be burned to snags because that’s “natural”. What took Mother Nature so long? Why didn’t She burn them when they were 600 yo, or 200, or 50?

And they also hold the opinion that for the last 15,500 years of human residency, the folks who lived there had nothing to do with the regular 3-6 year fire return interval — that No Touch-Let It Burn-Watch It Rot is the wisest and most natural form of stewardship — that we should defund fire suppression because that’s the problem.

I’m not in that crowd. I think the destruction of the ancient Giant Sequoias is tragic and was preventable via management of the ground fuels.

Izzak W. I spent nearly 10 years as an aerial fire fighter. back in the late 80’s and 90’s.
when you see the lack of controlled burns debris clean up and the actual use of natural
fire to create a clean forest floor is a good way to start getting a handle on this. But. You have to not let the fire burn into a large fire. During high fire danger, you need to fight the fire.
keep it as small as possible. Whole towns destroyed is not a good indication of how a fire is managed. I grew up around the timber industry. When managers don’t look at the consequences of not keeping the forest clean, you get massive , crowning fire. I’ve seen it.
One thing. Logging selectively is a good way to start.. The region around Quincy and Chester
had been subject to replanting and not thinning for years. No management is worse than over management.

The lies are thick indeed, and not just from the BBC.

There is no such thing as a “natural fire regime”. That’s hard core petrified paradigmatic racism. Human beings have deliberately burned the underbrush in CA and elsewhere, including England, for 12,000 years or more. The Woke Left are total fact denialists in this regard, probably because they hate humanity of all stripes – past, present and future.

It is telling that the CDFFP is also mired in serious dumbass about the factual forest history of CA. It tells us that their “science” is fable and explains their catastrophic incompetence at mitigating fire size or severity.

Ironically, or idiotically, the CDFFP blames fire suppression for large fires. They’re in the fire suppression business, people! If their solution to the fire crisis is to withhold suppression, then we should shitcan that agency. They say they’re the problem, so get rid of them.

The destruction of heritage forests in CA last summer, and many summers preceding, is a monumental tragedy and should bring tears to every person with any feelings. But driving electric cars or huddling in mud huts in the cold and dark while kleptomaniac oligarchs dip caviar in their plush private jets will not stop forest fires in CA or anywhere else.

We need to learn from the “savages” how to managed the fuels, because it’s the fuels, stupid.
