Greta Thunberg brands UN climate summit ‘a failure’ & ‘a PR event’ … a ‘global greenwashing festival’ – ‘Shove your climate crisis up your arse’ – ‘No more whatever the f*ck they’re doing inside there’

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND – Swedish campaigner Greta Thunberg on Friday branded the U.N. climate summit in Glasgow a “failure” after a week of negotiations produced what some experts have called vague promises to cut emissions.

“It is not a secret that COP26 is a failure,” Thunberg told thousands of youth protesters at a march in the Scottish city.

She called the COP26 talks “a two-week-long celebration of business as usual and ‘blah, blah, blah.’”

“This is no longer a climate conference. This is now a global greenwashing festival,” Thunberg told cheering crowds.

‘COP26 is a failure’: Greta Thunberg says climate summit has turned into a PR event

GLASGOW, Scotland — Climate activist Greta Thunberg said Friday that the COP26 climate summit is a failure, lambasting the U.N.-brokered talks for turning into a public relations exercise.

“It is not a secret that COP26 is a failure. It should be obvious that we cannot solve the crisis with the same methods that got us into it in the first place,” Thunberg said.“The COP has turned into a PR event, where leaders are giving beautiful speeches and announcing fancy commitments and targets, while behind the curtains governments of the Global North countries are still refusing to take any drastic climate action.” She was speaking on stage shortly after a strike organized by “Fridays For Future” saw thousands march 1.6 miles from Kelvingrove Park to George Park in Glasgow’s city center — less than 2 miles from where the COP26 event is being held.…“This COP26 is so far just like the previous COPs — and that has led us nowhere,” Thunberg said on Monday as she addressed climate activists.

“Inside COP, there are just politicians and people in power pretending to take our future seriously,” she said. “Change is not going to come from inside there, that is not leadership. This is leadership, this is what leadership looks like.”

She had previously voiced her frustration over climate inaction at the Youth4Climate summit in Milan, Italy in late September.

“Net zero by 2050. Blah, blah, blah. Net zero. Blah, blah, blah. Climate neutral. Blah, blah, blah. This is all we hear from our so-called leaders. Words that sound great but so far have led to no action. Our hopes and dreams drown in their empty words and promises,” Thunberg said at the time.

Hell no.
I really have no tolerance for Scandinavians who export their toxic waste and screaming gnomes to foreign countries but
If this creature kills herself this would be reasons enough for the UN to install instant global marxism and shut the economy down so that noone else commits suicide because of global warming.
Then there would be a global Greta day,
a Greta week,a Greta Bobble Haed ,a Kink Kong sized Greta Statue at the UN building and a Greta first person shooter (you run around and call everyone who is not trans, gay, black or muslim a racist bigot nazi and slaughter all farting cows)

The last thing we need is a Greta Carbon martyr.

She must live long enough to become herself a villain(batman reference )
We just need to wait.
At one point she will violate the woke orthodoxy and make a crucial and unforgivable mistake (by using a gender 52 pronoun on a gender 53 person or even something worse)
and all her fellow zombies will turn on her.

I happen to be bilingual – Danish and English. Scandinavians swear using mostly religious profanities – not with obscenities. Polite Swedish women would not dream of using Swedish obscene words (of which there many juicy ones!). But Scandinavians simply don’t have the “feel” of what our English swear words really sound like in good company here. Thunberg is simply unaware of that, I believe.

What she hasn’t gotten right is that this is a good thing.
If this is what everyone keeps getting doing for thirty years (after 25 reviews), maybe there’s a reason for that.

Climate mitigation is practically impossible. The CO2 graph shows what the COVID Lockdown did. Nothing. Nothing is what can be done affordably.

So manage the loonies with a public spectacle. Use that to have a convenient conference where there is no pressure on the leaders to achieve anything. And carry on.

It is all “Blah, blah, blah”. That’s not a problem.

Don’t kid yourself….reading here on WUWT can give you the impression you are winning but the following factions are against you…
1). many people who watched Bambi too many times as a child and are now useful idiots for eco causes. They accept fighting CC as the right thing for them to do and are a large voter pool if they stop watching Steven Colbert long enough to go vote.
2). people for whom protecting the environment is their equivalent of religion and have decided that any kind of fuel is evil. They fight Big Oil, Big government, Big Logging, Big Cars, Big Box stores…..
3). Politicians who feel climate virtue signalling gets them accolades and more votes, and there are a ton of these voter schmoozers at every level of government, municipal to federal to the UN.
4). Politicians who don’t believe a degree warming is a problem but who believe that energy consumption is a fertile field for tax revenue collection and expanding government spending.
5). Numerous “eco -cause” donation button sites have found that a video of a forlorn Polar bear is worth hundreds of $K in donations, and tell any BS story for more button presses that gullible people listen to.
6). A lot of normal people just plain “accept” the media inundation you have seen on the climate crisis in the last 3 weeks prior to COP 26. Big money is behind the “CC Now” program that the media pushes.
7). A lot of people believe that Prince Charles, Attenborough, Mark Carney, and their team actually are ecological heroes.

So , with Ca. and NY outlawing household gas connections, Michigan insisting Canadian pipelines across their state be shut down….Ca, Wa, Or, not allowing midwest coal to be exported from their ports, coal mining permits being cancelled in Alberta…..NO sceptics have NOT won….

Excellent though depressing analysis. May I add some factions:

8) globalist oligarchs who profit from soaring energy prices and the attendant inflation of all other commodity prices (metals, food, manufactured goods, real estate, etc.)

9) authoritarians who seek power and control over gullible populations through fear and intimidation. Count the titans of high tech and their monopoly on discourse here.

10) minions, lackeys, and opportunists who serve 8 & 9 above for a share of the spoils. Count pseudo scientists and other academics among these, as well as media types.

There is no “winning” when faced with science deniers like these. They’ve actually assembled a climate conference based on climate models that grossly over-estimate future planetary temperatures, and they don’t give a damn. A fictional catastrophe is more than adequate, with so much money at risk.

Corporate media was happy to keep Greta in the spotlight as long as she parroted the narrative of the Progressive elite. But that is no longer necessarily the case. The interesting thing now is if she will continue to get a spotlight.

Greta was systematically traumatized as a child and has thus grown up to be a neurotic delusional adult. A walking tragedy.

She probably has grounds to levy a criminal charge of willful child abuse against her parents. With a RICO addendum if filed in the US.

What Greta does not understand is that AGW is a conjecture based on only partial science and is false. I doubt that she has the education to really understand but she needs to understand the following:

The AGW conjecture may seem plausible at first but upon closer examination I find that it is based on only partial science and is full of very serious flaws. For example, according to the AGW conjecture, H2O is the primary greenhouse gas because molecule per molecule H2O is a stronger IR absorber than is CO2 and on average there is roughly 50 times as much H2O in the Earth’s atmosphere than is CO2. So if the AGW conjecture is correct, adding H2O to the atmosphere must cause warming. It is well known that warmer temperatures cause more H2O to enter the atmosphere. The theory is that CO2 warming will cause more H2O to enter the atmosphere which will cause even more H2O to enter the atmosphere and so forth. The claim is that H2O provides a positive feedback that amplifies any warming that CO2 might provide.

If adding H2O to the atmosphere really caused warming then one would expect the wet lapse rate to be greater than the dry lapse rate in the troposphere so that adding more H2O to the atmosphere would increase the natural lapse rate and hence increase the insulating properties of the atmosphere. But in reality the wet lapse rate is significantly less than the dry lapse rate so adding H2O to the atmosphere must cause cooling and not warming. So the feedback must be negative and not positive. Negative feedbacks are inherently stable as has been the Earth’s atmosphere for at least the past 500 million years allowing life to evolve because we are here. The wet lapse rate being greater than the dry lapse rate invalidates much of the AGW conjecture
.
The AGW conjecture depends upon the existence of a radiant greenhouse in the Earth’s atmosphere caused by trace gases with LWIR absorption bands. Such a radiant greenhouse has not been observed on any planet in the solar system with a thick atmosphere, including the Earth, and is hence nothing but science fiction. The absence of a radiant greenhouse effect completely invalidates the AGW conjecture. Without a radiant greenhouse effect CO2 cannot possible provide any warming. If CO2 did actually provide warming then the increase in CO2 over the past 30 years should have caused at least a measurable increase in the dry lapse rate in the troposphere but that has not happened. The AGW conjecture is clearly invalid. It is a matter of science.

November 6, 2021 7:18 pm

I was predicting Greta would turn into a sceptic. She is now at stage 1: realising that it is all “blah blah” and that for all the words, no action will take place. The next stage (2) is to start looking at what will happen when the “predictions” of dire consequences materialise. That’s the point where we start trying to understand the “science” … and that inevitably leads to full blown scepticism.

I want to encourage Greta to go more climate woke and demand everyone go climate woke with her.

Because everyone with rational thought is beginning to see the energy poverty abyss coming with skyrocketing natgas prices driving up electricity and forcing power plants to shut down. Everyone sees Dementia Joe Brandon doing everything he can to stifle US domestic oil and gas production while begging OPEC to increase output.
