CFACT’s Marc Morano gave a rousing speech addressing “Degraded Science and the Coming Great Reset.” Morano pulled headlines and quotes from mainstream media outlets that advocate for climate lockdowns that mimic covid lockdowns in the name of “saving the planet.” Under a climate lockdown, Morano explained, there would be little to no air travel, no new clothing, no private property, no meat eating, and of course, no use of traditional, reliable fossil fuel energy.
“If you’ve loved the last year and a half living under covid lockdowns, you’ll LOVE the coming climate lockdowns,” Morano quipped.

Keep it up. These are the sorts of speeches that will make normal people go “Let’s just live with it being a tiny bit hotter because I’m not signing up for that rubbish.”
One of the things that the media will hardly ever say , and is never mentioned much anywhere is the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere .
The present level is 0.04% .
Of which about 97% is caused naturally . Even the IPCC only claim that 5% is human caused , and with all of their lies it is certainly less than that .
Of all of the human caused CO2 , the UK only makes about 1% of the total , [ the USA might be only 15% .
Then you finish up with the fact the the UKs total CO2 production is just 0.000012% of the atmosphere , [ the USA does 0.00018% ].
Anybody who believes that those tiny amounts could have any measureable effect on climate is either delusional , or deliberately lying to further their agenda .
So the whole propaganda scheme against fossil fuels is designed to cost Western economies huge amounts of money .

I applaud your post In The Real World. But I calculate the percent of CO2 in the atmosphere to be 4/100th of one percent (417 divided by !000000) or .0004%). By any standard this is a microscopic presence of no consequence as a source of Global warming or climate change. The conduct of the climate alarmists has been to constantly try to change a mouse into an elephant.

I must have missed something in my economics education. For the life of me capitalism means no more than using capital to generate income with a view to creating more capital. And when you have capital or income surplus to needs you get to do other stuff with it.

At the end of Monbiot’s essay, the paper notes: “George Monbiot is a Guardian columnist”. No doubt, they mean that he’s a Guardian communist. His essay is nuts.
No, Monbiot and many of the Guardian’s columnists are not either fools or idiots, they are dangerous propagandists driving to anxiety or unacceptable actions whole generation of young poorly educated or badly informed people. Once they penetrate all spheres of science, power and the decision making a bloodless revolution will creep onto western democratic societies and it may be next to the impossible to reverse it. The obvious lack of courage in the traditional media (e.g. Telegraph, Times etc, in the UK) to take them had on, it will back fire and in no time they will loose their freedom to provide true and verifiable information.

Massachusetts is a hot bed for climate lunacy and it’s considered one of the best educated parts of America. “Best educated” is coming to mean “best indoctrinated”. The educational system is one of the worst weapons being used on America and the West in general.
Seattle is also considered one of the best educated places. Yet there is rampant homlessness and drug use, they’re pushing to legalize all misdemeanor offenses, etc.
Public schools provide schooling, not education. There’s a world of difference between the two. Just because a person has spent 15 or more years attending an institution doesn’t mean the are educated. More likely they’re just institutionalized.
The comments to that Monbiot garbage are instructive. Living in the Portland OR area it would not surprise me if a significant fraction of the local population thinks as this commenting moron does (love the “pre-Stalin” qualifier):

I can’t figure out if his “speech” was a warning or a threat, so I’ll just take it as both, and go back to reading Regency novels that don’t idealize stupidity.

When I went out into the 34F morning to get the paper, with the Moon slowly sinking westward, I realized that while it may be taken the wrong way, Morano was handing a warning to anyone within hearing (including online viewers) that we must take NOTHING for granted, including our freedom to move about and go where we please.

Absolutely. She knew the Regency Period like the back of her hand. The Tollgate has precise descriptions of how food was cooked and kept out of reach of 4-leggers, with no references to refrigeration because there was none back then, unless you were wealthy enough to afford an ice house.

I just finished watching the video. The data and science was impressive. Please take the following as constructive criticism only. The presentation was amateur at best. We must find a way to present facts, data and science in a more polished and Hollywood like production. Here are a few suggestions.
Instruct the presenters how to speak into a microphone. More than once in the video I saw speakers slide the mic to a location they thought was good for picking up their voice. Mic was off to the side and a foot or more from the mouth. The speaker then would become animated and move and turn his head in and out of the field of pickup of the mic. This resulted in audio drop outs and information was lost.
Next, the power point slides. The time spent fumbling around trying to find the starting point or the correct image or screen for display must stop. The deployment of facts, data and science must precise. The facts, data and science demand it.
Next, the sequence of speaker presentations needs to change. In the video above the first presentation could be dubbed the ridicule hour, which I believe is a valuable part of any rebuttal to climate alarmism. But should not facts, data and science be first? The attention span of humans being what is is, I fear the audience we are trying to reach will tune out before the facts, data and science are presented.
Next, target the presentations to a specific demographic. Believe me when I say that there are people that are so deeply entrenched in the myth that nothing will change their minds. These are the ones that embrace the myth as cult and or religion. Ignore them. They will slowly disappear through attrition. Our focus should be the audience that believes in man made climate change because of herd mentality, augmented by virtue signaling among those in their social sphere.
The opposition that pushes the myth is clever in the way they reach the minds of the masses. We must be as clever or more in our attempt to reverse this obsession with climate.
Again, I post the above not to start an argument. Only to be constructive.

What really blew me away in Mark’s Power Point presentation were the two slides that attacked critical thinking and facts for making arguments and drawing conclusions. So we peons apparently don’t need to think anymore. All of the powers that be in the Big Brother Orwellian collective have done it for us.
