“Insulate Britain” Compares Climate Protest Deaths to WW2 Collateral Damage

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

The leaders of Insulate Britain, who continuously promote climate alarm, apparently think it is acceptable for sick people to die in ambulances which can’t get past his illegal climate protest road blocks.

Insulate Britain Invokes WW2 Collateral Damage to Justify Deaths Caused by Protests

The spokesman for Insulate Britain implicitly stated that deaths caused by ambulances forced to wait in traffic because of one of his protests was like allowing soldiers in World War Two to die in order to keep secret from Nazi Germany that the UK had cracked the code for the Enigma machine, per his interpretation of historical events he had seen in the 2014 film The Imitation Game.

Liam Norton, now infamous for his wild and frequent comparisons of his cause to the Second World War, made the comments on talkRADIO on Tuesday, while calling host Julia Hartley-Brewer a “traitor”.

Footage went viral on social media on Monday of members of the public dragging Insulate Britain protesters off of Wandsworth Bridge road, and demanding the eco-extremists let an ambulance through. While at Blackwall Tunnel, a tearful and distraught woman beggedprotesters to allow her to pass to see her elderly, ill mother in hospital. Craig Scudder of Isulate Britain later told Sky News of the woman’s plight that while it was “devastating”, the eco-extremist group’s “hands were tied”.

Public fury explodes at Insulate Britain mastermind Roger Hallam for saying he would block ambulance with dying patient in – hours after his self-righteous acolytes  REFUSED to move for crying woman trying to get to mother, 81, in hospital

  • Climate zealot Roger Hallam said he wouldn’t have moved for woman trying to get to her mother in hospital
  • Enviro-idiots brought parts of London to a standstill for more than four hours by blocking commuter routes
  • Demonstrators from Extinction Rebellion offshoot Insulate Britain clashed with motorists yesterday morning
  • They caused huge tailbacks close to the centre of the city on what is the group’s eleventh day of protests
  • Police have complained they lack powers to stop eco-protesters from bringing arterial roads to a standstill
  • It comes just 24 hours after Boris Johnson and Priti Patel threatened six-month jail terms for eco-protesters

PUBLISHED: 11:37 AEDT, 5 October 2021 | UPDATED: 13:05 AEDT, 5 October 2021

Britons last night erupted in fury after the mastermind of enviro-mob Insulate Britain said he would block an ambulance with a dying patient inside in order to continue his eco-protests.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Roger Hallam gave a firm ‘yes’ when asked if he would block an ambulance transporting a critically ill patient to a hospital for treatment.

The extraordinary admission, made during an interview with the Unbreak the Planet podcast, came after a tearful woman was filmed urging Insulate Britain protestors to move so she could get her 81-year-old mother to the hospital.

The following is Insulate Britain’s Liam Norton trying to answer difficult questions, like “what does your group want”, and comparing himself to legendary WW2 leader Winston Churchill. He stormed off from this interview when pressed.

I can’t help thinking Winston Churchill might not be the best historical comparison for Liam Norton’s brand of angry political rabble rousing.

Most of these kinds of people dry up and blow away after a few years, when their followers tire of their nonsense, or when they stumble and somehow fall from grace. But who knows?

After years of climate indoctrination in schools, and government failures to live up to their own climate rhetoric, there might be just enough climate frustration loose in Britain’s general population, for Insulate Britain’s Liam Norton to become a serious political player.

During times when trust in politicians is at a low point, ordinary people searching for a way forward seek anyone who displays convincing evidence of political integrity. That is why fanatics tend to do so well during troubled times. Fanaticism in an odd way can be perceived by ordinary people as an ugly form political integrity, because you can usually trust a fanatic to attempt to fulfil their mission – which is more than you can say today about most of today’s politicians.

I really think Insulate Britain should spend an indefinite amount of time living the sort of simple life they urge on others, herding sheep in the Falklands.

Actually give them a wind turbine and some solar panels for power (on South Georgia Island) along with electric space heaters and lighting and electric stoves such that they will need to choose between 1/2 lights on or 1/2 heaters on or cooking when wind is at full capacity and the sun is shining

Surely there are little islands north of Canada where they can observe local polar bear populations while they harvest fish, seals and whatever?

Since they’re absolutely antithetical to all things fossil fuel, force them to divest everything derived from fossil fuels. Shoes, clothes, dwellings, heating, food they have to provide for as a hunter/gatherer society.

Perhaps give them a few bone needles and fish hooks, and perhaps a bundle of raw hemp fibers. Everything else they need they must make themselves.

I doubt most will keep their psychopathic climate delusions very long.

Don’t send them to the Falklands. That is far too civilized. They need to be rounded up, sprayed with cold water (to be sure they aren’t carrying fleas) and dropped off in a wilderness area with no trees for fuel, no guaranteed clean water resources, and no food resources of any kind nearby, other than whatever they can catch. Maybe an island in the Aleutians would do.

I doubt they’ll last more than 2 minutes, especially since it’s cold in the northern hemisphere. The Falklands are far too good for them.

I agree with all of you that they need to be so thoroughly obnoxious, the populace in general will holler loudly at the government to get rid of them.

Very appropriate place to make them want more global warming!
IIRC, that was the solution by the protagonist in Tom Clancy’s novel
“Rainbow Six” [Spoiler Alert!]. The villains (eco-terrorists) were helicoptered into
the Amazon rainforest naked & no tools/equipment, and 90 miles from any civilization
so they could “get back to nature”.Unsurprisingly they were never heard from again. How apropos!

No stores to shop at in the Aleutians, and there is a danger level from polar bears and some active volcanoes up there, in addition to unpredictable storms because there’s no weather station up there.

Otherwise, BZ, they should be offered the opportunity to be the First Colonists on Mars. There is water in the form of ice in many places on Mars, and it’s possible that ice is also buried under the dusty surface. Mars is a busy place under its cold red dirt.

They have NOT lost the plot for the simple reason they never had one in the first place.

They have been given a script by some Soros like NGO to promote this shit.
This all follows exactly the timeline: Hippies>new wave feminism(Glorias Steinem was a CiA operative and has something in common with hippie leaders Aby Hoffman and Cohn Bendit and the guys who owned the Woodstock place ).
>Club of Rome > start of the global cooling lie> Alynskies “Rules for radicals”> the appearance of green parties(Who are ALL anti-nation,progressive and at the same time islam buttkissers) > AGW lie(Agenda 21)> systematicall name calling of climate deniers,
and one method of name calling is to compare them with holocaust deniers.
Now this method above is nothing more than a continuency of the holocaust denier comparison.

It may be interesting to know that they never try to draw comparisons with communism that killed more people than ww2,Hitler and all climate catastrophies of the 21st century combined.
In fact the western MSM&”experts” that successfully covered the communist genozides for 5 decades
by ridiculing and name calling those who did (same strategy they use against climate deniers ) is the one promoting this climate agenda like crazy – and this agenda is communism all over again.

Seeing as they don’t seem to be willing or capable of walking off the road, they could be superglued to the crash barriers in the background of the photo, or else some kind electrician held up by the protesters could produce some cable ties and fix the protestors to the same.
There they could continue their protest in safety and the public can continue with their travels.

For British readers, before the last re-election of the Michigan Governor there was an alleged plot to kidnap the Michigan Governor by ‘Trump-supporting right-wingers’. I’m not certain that political inclinations explain all of it. We now live in a world of participant trophies where constructive criticism is received through a prism of race, sexual orientation, etc…. Falsehoods that provide positivity trump uncomfortable thruths. Meritocracy has gone out the window. Once these folks find an echo chamber where than can receive instant and constant affirmation (the internet/social media has an endless supply of these), they become believers and any other opinion is immoral because everyone in their circle says so.
There are two types of people in this camp – The followers, who just are unable or unwilling to look beyond the echo chamber. And then there are the leaders, who know they are being dishonest but doing so benefits them. I’m sure you can all think of a few.

They’re Progressives; the modern, religious version of Marxism! Science and history are two of the major forbidden subjects that may not be taught; only Lysenkoism and politically corrected history are allowed from the pulpit and amongst the flock!
Just imagine being so ignorant that you are willing to kill people because a vital gas, the basis for ALL life on this planet, is deemed EVIL despite being in seriously short supply! Even if there was some validity to CAGW theory, the raising of temps by a degree or two would LOWER climate related deaths, as there are 10-20 times more killed by cold that heat! Progressives, like all Marxists, are willing to lie, cheat, and kill to attain their imaginary Nirvana; where government is EVERYTHING, and the individual is less than zero! It IS the de facto religion of the West now!

Any support that either Exctinction Rebellion or Insulate Britain ever had is now turning to dust. Their actions are revealing just how idiotic and extreme the climate change supporters are becoming, which isn’t helping their cause one bit.

The only good news out of all this is that it will lead more and more people to question the motives of the environmentalists given the ridiculous claims being made. People are genuinely questioning the sanity of anyone who could support these people.

I think the ever-increasing hysteria might actually be a good thing – the general public will start to see these people for the extremist nutters they are and maybe politicians will start to distance themselves from this a little.

I think the general public will start asking questions and will harden their views against XR and, by extension, Greenpeace and FoE. As the extremism ramps up are all the greenies simply going to follow, or will some start dialling back the rhetoric? There is only so many times in a generation you can claim “only 10 years left” before people start to pay attention when it never happens. We now have GB News giving separate UK coverage, with opinions.

Will some greenies start to say its not 10 years but 30 years? Will they get eaten alive by their own kind?

The more hysteria the more likely the whole thing will implode as ordinary people simply start to dump the idiots on the side of the road and quietly suggest its not a good idea to carry on blocking the traffic.

Remember the XR idiot on top of the train at Canning Town? Death wish or what? These protestors are playing with fire and if they start to end up with injuries I would not be at all surprised. If they want to exercise their democratic right to protest, go and hold up banners and chant in Parliament Square. Let the rest of us go about our lawful business.

Companies like Rolls Royce should develop a standard design complete with specifications for acceptable sites that, once accepted by the US, can be grandfathered for future installations. The license should be protected from the effects of subsequent changes to government regulations.

Even allowing for the fact that this is – probably – intended for another thread, I have no idea what you are talking about.

A standard design? With specifications? Grandfathered for future?

Sorry but still not sure. Grandfather clauses work backwards, not forwards. An example would be that all new cars built must have fluffy dice fitted as standard, but under a Grandfather clause older cars do not need to be retro fitted.

Standard designs also tend to be useful on smaller objects with larger production runs. A diesel generator for example would have a ‘standard design’.

The moment you are talking ‘big’ the individual requirements and lead times mean you may as well tweak any build to suit both the customer’s needs and the latest product improvements. You shouldn’t re-invent the wheel for each build, but be willing to fit more effective mags each time you sell a new one.

I suppose the Hegelian Dialectic just flies over heads here without making a sound …

We are being played folks. Played like a fiddle.

The old Problem, Reaction, Solution ploy is being wielded on our TVs and papers everyday, yet few seem to be aware of the game we are unwittingly playing.

This is how it goes :

Someone, somewhere, with access to the levers of messaging and control, desire a specific change with a specific outcome. They know that just introducing this change will provoke a huge, resistive reaction, which will likely hinder their chances of getting the change agreed upon and implemented.

So the question they ask themselves is, “How do we make this change appeal to the people? How do we make what we want to achieve, popular with the masses?”

The answer is to create a problem to provoke the masses into screaming for a solution.

The solution, which the masses scream for, is in fact the very same change that the controlling group desires.

In response to the engineered and wholly predictable screams of reaction from the masses, the solution, which now has popular support, is implemented.

This dialectic, was developed by Fichte then modified by Hegel and is commonly known as the Hegelian Dialectic, formally as Thesis – Antithesis – Synthesis or more colloquially as, Problem – Reaction – Solution.

In this latest incarnation, UK Gov wants to get this Bill through parliament : Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill 2021. That Bill seeks to limit people’s right to protest.

So, a problem involving some protestors is created, for which the public, via the media, is encouraged to react by screaming for a solution – hence why the police claim that they have not got the powers to do anything …

In response to this engineered, public reaction, the solution will be the new Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill 2021 becoming an Act of Law. Problem solved. Much reduced right to protest.

The dialectic method is used, because it works. Every. Single. Time.

The only mystery for me is why it goes unnoticed by those so willingly playing their designated roles ….

As we should all know, they are breaking many laws for which they could be arrested, but the police enable their illegal protests rather than uphold the law. I agree that a specific curtailment of the right to protest non-approved causes is the likely aim of the inaction of authorities.

Actually the Bill does not limit people’s right to protest but codifies people’s right to protest only in such a manner as not to endanger the lives of others, not to restrict the liberty pf others and not, in any other way, to limit the human rights of others.

The trouble is that while all these things are already unlawful, it appears to be very difficult to obtain a conviction because there are always a couple of woke creatures on UK juries and even if a culprit is convicted it is usually let off by a woke judge with a slap on the wrist.

The climate hysteria has gone on for so long now has started to created death cults and nutters like Insulate Britain and XR.

Quite frankly, these people are gullible idiots who seem unable to think for themselves. Because there is total buy-in by politicians like Boris and policy is surging full speed ahead with climate crisis, COP26, “Saudi Arabia of wind” etc plus full on propaganda from BBC, C4 and Sky News etc this is not going to end well. The general public are starting to think its crock and taking matters into their own hands whilst the politicians are more aligned in their thinking and actions with climate crazies like Insulate Britain and XR than they are with ordinary working folk.

It will end in tears. The Labour party is unlikely to change course (with twats like Ed Milliband who gave us the climate Change Act 2008). Only the Conservative Party can change direction, the push from behind the scenes is, I suspect, starting to swell.

As I said to my Conservative MP, if you are the incumbent government when the lights go off, or when bills increase 70% you will be unelectable for a generation. The government is trying to buck the free markets (eg bills are going up because of renewable subsidies ie government policy, whilst simultaneously capping bills because the politicians don’t want to be associated with price rises – so stupid it burns!).

The last time I recall a Conservative government tried to buck the free markets led to the ERM exit. After which things got better, but not before trashing the Conservative Party “economic competence” legacy for a generation.

Julia has a long history of ridiculing the warmistas wild claims. The clips shown above are about a quite specific topic.

Plus I very much find her attitude to things refreshing in this age of mock outrage.

This was her reaction after a Minister repeatedly put his hand on her knee under the table during a dinner.

“Tweeting after the Sun’s revelations, Hartley-Brewer said: “This ‘incident’ happened in 2002.

No one was remotely upset or distressed by it. My knees remain intact.”

A friend of Fallon said: “Julia’s a good friend of Michael’s. He overstepped the mark when he put his hand on her knee. She made it clear it was unwelcome and he rightly apologised 15 years ago.”

Before Fallon was named, Hartley-Brewer said in a statement shared on Twitter: “I have spoken previously about a Cabinet Minister who repeatedly put his hand on my knee during a party conference dinner.

“I calmly and politely explained to him that if he did it again I would ‘punch him in the face’. He withdrew his hand and that was the end of the matter. I have had no issues since with the man in question and do not regard the incident as anything but mildly amusing.”

The hands of the U.K. police are only tied by their own ineptitude. It is illegal to obstruct the public highway. It is illegal for pedestrians to be on a motorway. There could be an argument that the terrorism act could be applied, especially since this group have no qualms about stopping ambulances on blue light transfers. The police managed to find reasons to disrupt the protests against lockdown.

The British Police seem to interpret the law entirely for their own convenience these days, it is more than frustrating to see them in news reports just hanging about like dummies (at the public expense) and adding to the obstruction rather than clearing it. If they need any excuses to actually do something useful, they could try these:

Highways Act 1980 – ‘If a person, without lawful authority or excuse, in any way wilfully obstructs the free passage along a highway he is guilty of an offence…’

The Emergency Workers (Obstruction) Act 2006 – ‘..it an offence to obstruct or hinder certain emergency workers who are responding to emergency circumstances…’
Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 – ‘A person commits the offence of aggravated trespass if he trespasses on land and ..in relation to any lawful activity which persons are engaging in or are about to engage in ..does there anything which is intended by him to have the effect of… intimidating those persons…so as to deter them from engaging in that activity,
of obstructing that activity, or of disrupting that activity.’

The idea that people can sit in the road obstructing the traffic, including emergency vehicles, on major highways and the police are powerless to prevent them is beyond preposterous.

Met Police protected their own Old Boys creep, who went on to kidnap, rape and murder. Police reaction was essentially that it was the victim’s fault for allowing herself to be arrested. There has been no inquiry called in how such horrific mistakes were made by police and no one has been fired for not doing due diligence in ferreting out police creeps.
Moreover, police went out in force to intimidate women when they tried to protest the non-actions of Met Police. Odd that police feel they can stop protests that denigrate them, but will not do so for Soros—funded events.
You made an incorrect assumption that UK police are mostly terrific and the bad apples rare; I see a group of people who have decided they can pick and choose which laws to enforce. And their layers of supervisors are ok with that.
This will not end well.

Once again, we have a prime example of the economically useless in our society dictating to the economically purposeful or just those with better things to do. Why aren’t they out insulating homes? Not their thing. They see their job as demanding that other citizens be taxed and other people be paid to do the real work.

“During times when trust in politicians is at a low point, ordinary people searching for a way forward seek anyone who displays convincing evidence of political integrity.”

There will be no political integrity in the whole climate scare narrative on either side of the Atlantic until someone arrives in government with the intestinal fortitude and brains to truly understand what is going on here and enlighten the masses with the truth about the Earth’s climate. Without any challenges and push-back against the alarmist narrative, Extinction Rebellion, Insulate Britain and the energy-related problems in the U.K. and Europe will be popping up again and again to haunt the ignorant.

The false belief in wind and solar energy as an alternative to fossil fuels only serves to make matters worse. It enjoys close kinship with the alarmist narrative. Replacing a high-density energy source with a low-density one is a recipe for failure, and all too few people understand that.

It’s quite simple just introduce a specific penalty for offences committed in the name of the climate. Actually this is not a penalty for them, it is what they are wishing for, laws to be introduced to forcibly make people use less energy/fossil fuels.

So, on conviction, ban them from driving for six months and cut of their gas and electricity for the same period.

Jobs a good un they get what they say they want and the rest of us get to laugh at them as they desperately try to get fossil fuels to heat and eat after just a few days.

How many repeat offenders do you think when a repeat offence ends up with a doubling of the sentence?

Correct me if I am wrong, the building regs on new home builds in the UK are pretty good.
There has been a drive by local authorities to insulate older homes. At least in Scotland.
Unfortunately, I live in a 19th century house. It could be far better insulated but would cost a substantial amount. It could be rewired for the “digital” age. It could have a new boiler and heating system. It could cost a lot of money. Money which I would likely never see a return on because renewable energy has driven up prices.
Why does Orkney, with 100% renewables, have the highest energy poverty rates in the UK?
Surely the energy should be free? After all, it is renewable.
Alas, no.
So the climate activists can go feck themselves unless they want to contribute to my fuel bill which I can’t afford anyway.

The organizers and participants of these kinds of protests should be sued for “wrongful death” if anyone died as a result of not being able to get to a hospital in a timely manner. There should be consequences for actions. If protestors can expect to be sued and have to pay for their actions, it will test just how committed they are to their cause.

It’s really easy to fix, several States here in the USA have passed laws allowing the running over of illegal protestors illegally blocking roads. In the event of Emergency vehicles being held up, the solution is to acelerate and ignore the speed bump! The idea that illegal protestors would deliberately refuse to allow the passage of emergency vehicles in England can be readily be resolved by suing the protestors individually and as a group for damages caused by the delay of emergency vehicles! And, in the event of a death caused by delaying an ambulance, Arrest the Protestors for Murder 1 as the death being pre-meditated by refusing passage.

His comparison is deranged.

For a start he seems to have no idea how Ultra Intelligence actually worked. We were reading parts of Axis communications and then making guesses as to what was actually going on.

Yes, protecting the fact you had broken the enemy’s code is an important thing, but there was also the need to obtain supporting evidence before going off and committing possibly thousands of men on some ‘ambush’ based off enemy comms chatter.

The idea that people were willingly killed off JUST to protect Ultra is Left Wing Bollocks. Every half sane commander knows their enemy is trying to gather signals intel, it is just a question of how much are they successfully obtaining.

The follow up comparison is both chilling and moronic.

They are blocking roads in order to… raise awareness… And if people die it is okay cause awareness needs to be raised? That compares to – apparently – allowing your own forces to die to protect an intelligence source that could be the key to winning a global war?

Seriously get your ego out of the warm body location you are currently storing it. The VERY best you might be able to claim as a WW2 comparison is that the people suffering from these stupid ‘awareness raising’ protests are the same as the airmen forced to fly over Germany dropping leaflets kindly asking Mr and Mrs Average German to stop with all that war nonsense.
