Terror group sets out its eco credentials (presumably by taking Afghanistan back to the Middle Ages)
Taliban spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi says they want to play a global role
The terror group wants to help tackle climate change and security, he claims
The Taliban is trying to project a more modern and ‘inclusive’ image
But executions and rights crackdowns have already been reported in regime
PUBLISHED: 05:53 EDT, 25 August 2021 | UPDATED: 13:10 EDT, 25 August 2021
The Taliban has vowed to tackle climate change and global security as part of the terror group’s attempt to rebrand itself and modernise despite reports of civilian executions and the erosion of women’s rights under the new Afghan regime.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi, a member of the Taliban’s Cultural Commission, says the Islamists want to play a role on the global stage.
He told Newsweek: ‘We hope not only to be recognised by regional countries but the entire world at large as the legitimate representative government of the people of Afghanistan who have gained their right of self-determination from a foreign occupation with the backing and support of an entire nation after a prolonged struggle and immense sacrifices despite all odds being stacked against our people.
‘We believe the world has a unique opportunity of rapprochement and coming together to tackle the challenges not only facing us but the entire humanity.
‘These challenges ranging from world security and climate change need the collective efforts of all, and cannot be achieved if we exclude or ignore an entire people who have been devastated by imposed wars for the past four decades.’

Laughable.
They’ll be trying to survive domestic challenges/resistance and selling out to China.
The carnage has started, there were multiple explosions outside the gates to Kabul Airport, with dead and injured, including coalition soldiers. Maybe the Taliban will fight climate change by population control? With explosives?
Planned Population, a wicked solution to relieve “burdens”, with precedent. Women, not appointed, but available, and taxable. Boys and girls, not rape-raped, but raped and sodomized to bend their knee to the consensus. That said, dreams of Kiev, Libya, Iraq 2.0 a.k.a. a prelude to premature evacuation 2021, and so on and so forth, with a forward-looking hope of the same.
“Women are for child-rearing, boys are for pleasure” is a common saying across many parts of Afghanistan. Bacha Bazi is used by the Taliban, where very young boys are used to infiltrate government and Police. Parties where Bacha’s dress as young women as dance in front of, of course, an all male audience is common.
Are you suggesting it was the Taliban themselves who carried out the attack? Maybe it was a false flag.
It wasn’t the Taliban, apparently- it was IS-K, an offshoot of IS.
one day they’re Taliban , the next al quaeda a day later they’re is-k . same thugs
China has its eyes on the Wakhan corridor that will allow them to dominate central Asia and put them at the doorstep of the Middle East. Once a highway is built they will flood the country with soldiers and destroy the Taliban’s power. IMO. Run up to Revelation 8:13-21
That’s not too far off, icisil
The Chinese don’t destroy villages in order to save them. They destroy villages to kill any opponents who might be living there.
Islamic extremists see the CCP as another total evil they must ultimately completely destroy. The only shared interest here is to remove the US and NATO, which strategic interest they share.
Beyond that its Islamic Global Revolution all the way, and only a matter of time until IS attack China.
I meant Revelation 9:13-21
It is not inconceivable that China will do just this. They have the manpower to totally overwhelm Afghanistan and the will to do so in order to get their hands on the rare earths. The day when Afghanistan was an impregnable fortress protected by the easily-defensible Khyber Pass are long gone.
They’ve already sold out to China, about a week or so ago.
Unfortunately the Biden administration will fall for it.
I am going to propose a high speed rail from Kabul to Kandahar. I can pull it off for a cool $250 billion. Think maybe the Biden administration will go for that one?
Gavin Newsom might. He needs some good publicity right about now.
You can’t afford to not spend billions for a train in Kabul.
Funny that the same people that support the catastrophic AGW theories pretty much support the Taliban as well.
How fitting. I recently referred to the “Climate Taliban”, meaning those who are trying to destroy economic well-being worldwide, lowering living standards, as well as threatening democratic principles in favor of a quasi world government, all in the name of “saving the planet”.
After successfully fighting Americans, the Taliban is now going to fight climate change.
THE PLANET IS SAVED! 🙂
Can they fix potholes in roads ??
The Taliban did not successfully fight American troops, they successfully fought Joe Biden.
Of course, Joe Biden was defeated mentally to begin with, so it wasn’t really a fight. More of a capitulation on the part of Biden.
Biden just threw away 20 years of hard work in Afghanistan like it was nothing, and ruined the lives of millions of people. The detrimental repurcussions for the Free World will be felt for a long time.
Biden is a walking, talking disaster.
I know one way they can fight climate change. They can work with China (forgone conclusion) to set up Uighur style slave camps for Afghans that helped the coalition. These slaves could be used to mine all those rare earth metals needed for EV batteries and wind mills. Environmentalists would get their EV batteries while at the same time helping enslave people who wanted freedom. Win win for them.
Sad update to my own post. There are in fact Uighurs in Afghanistan already. They must be terrified.
They are terrified from what I hear.
Is that the same as just send money? We too want to be part of the reparations scam.
That was my first thought. $$$$
The Biden Administration should immediately dispatch climate czar John Kerry to Kabul to enter into lengthy negotiations about reducing Afghanistan to net zero carbon. And if they
want to keep him, so be it.
“The cold is only Allah’s way of telling us to burn more infidels.” (stolen from Black Adder)
This is easy. Just kill your enemy with swords on horseback like in the old days. Stone those that are not of the same belief system you have. No GHG emissions at all.
Horses fart.
Horse farts are renewable.
Unicorn farts doubly so
“…about reducing Afghanistan to net zero carbon.”
Hasn’t Afghanistan already been reduced to net zero carbon?
Translation:
“We want to bring developed countries, like the United States, back to the same primitive standards of living that are experienced by the typical Afghan citizen.”
I see they have already started work on this.
They have stopped people taking flights, encouraged more clothing instead of heating (at least for women) and are actively pursuing policies that reduce the population.
In many ways they are very Green.
And for men they encourage beard growth to keep their faces warm.
A seventh century lifestyle would of course imply energy conservation, and as the greens want peasants to shiver in mud huts, the agendas of the greens and the Taliban overlap.
If they are recognized as a legitimate government, they will be bringing their 7th century lifestyle to the UN. They might like the limo rides, Michelin Star dinners and hob knobbing with the Hollywod elite. They might even get a seat on the UN Commision on the Status of Women. Now that I gotta see.
Therein lies the problem, they well might really enjoy all the goodies available to UN diplomats in NYC, and refuse to go back to their caves.
The taliban will cut climate change’s throat.
I wonder what they’ll do to Gaia.
Mother Earth will wear a burka 😉
Smart lads the Talioban. In classic fashion they use our weaknesses to defeat us. First they subsidise their military operations by selling drugs -opium and heroin to their enemies and now they buy into the climate scam to conince us to weaken ourselves further and also pay money into their climate slush fund along with a pheap oof other brutal dictatorships. I wish that we had a smartt a leadership as the taliban
Relax, you have Joe Biden.
And Kamala Harris – a worldbeating team! sarc
The Tally will appeal to “allah”, of course. Of course, there is no “allah” so nothing happens
The Taliban are playing the game, pretending to be part of modern society, and “one of us”. It is outrageously ballsy, but the Chinese have been pulling a similar stunt so, why not? They’ve got nothing to lose.
And the Dems and MSM will fall for it.
The greenies and fellow travelers love the Taliban for fighting fossil fuels.
“but the Chinese have been pulling a similar stunt”
Yes, what’s the difference? These are two groups of conmen, the Chicoms and the Taliban who are in it for the money and power.
The Taliban will probably be giving us a dollar figure for how much they need to fight climate change shortly. No doubt, they will need billions of Western dollars. That idiot, Biden, might give it to them. If he’s still in office. The Taliban better hurry their request up.
Well, a promise of safety is the best way to establish total control. And it’s pretty likely that the majority of Afghans will quickly accept the Taliban much like Americans accepted George Washington and Benjamin Franklin – or else.
The new Islamic heroes..
Come on, as the global elites are saying, give them a chance…
Taliban vow to tackle CLIMATE CHANGE
They too have crops to produce
The United States spent more than $8bn over 15 years on efforts to deprive the Taliban of their profits from Afghanistan’s opium and heroin trade, from poppy eradication to air attacks and raids on suspected labs.
That strategy failed.
https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2021/8/16/opium-afghanistans-illicit-drug-trade-that-helped-fuel-taliban
Anyone who takes the wahhabists seriously probably believes in global heating, too.
They are already shutting down electricity, running water and sewage, so they are using less energy. Besides, raping children and women by fire light is their favorite pastime and burning infidels hardly creates any CO2 at all.
I suspect the Taliban is going to first address climate change by murdering Americans remaining behind and all Afghans who worked with the USA. This will implement the “fewer people” goal of climate activists.
How many climate consultants are flying in with carpet bags?
They already have climate communications consultants judging by the press release, but there is still room for climate psychologists and court jesters.
They will be flying in on magic carpets.
Advice will be shared using ZOOM conferences.
Maybe the Taliban should receive some of the ($100 Bn) Green Climate Fund money, for their efforts. (sarc)
Said the the religious zealots to the other religious zealots
But those were green executions and beatings… COP27 to be held in Kabul?
He told Newsweek. And Newsweek was daft enough to run the story.
…and there will be free health care for all and free child care and a living wage for all. Lap it up Newsweek.
That’ll be the green tip bullets come out to play.
Green dum dum bullets…..
Net zero emissions from non-believers and other other enemies of the clerics.
There will be a sermon at noon from Mullah Griff.
Today’s sermon : climate change and Taqiya
They know what to say to pony up to the climate change gravy train.
Strand American citizens, put targets on Christians’ backs, leave behind those who helped American servicemen, but hey oh that’s OK as long as you’re willing to fight a nonexistent threat of climate change.
https://images.app.goo.gl/ztCBpojArpJ2dpx86
All they have to do is NOT build any power plants, and also restrict driving cars to half of the population.
I have visions of a change of venue to Kabul for COP26 with Greta cycling in to lambast them all. There may be unexpected victory over the Taliban yet as they head back for the mountains in droves.
Glasgow is Too Cold
What he said is true and what he’s proposing is completely sensible. True, they have just defeated a foreign occupation. This is really an opportunity. There are a lot of challenges (with two examples), and he’s right in asserting that it’s stupid to exclude a whole nation from tackling these challenges. A nation that is devastated by 40 years of warfare imposed on them by external forces.
So you claim you can get a square peg into a round hole?
No. I claim I can get square peg into your axxhole.
So you enjoy being wrong
I kind of guessed that
Yeah, really 🙂
Socialists get cranky when people don’t worship they way they are told to.
And how about you? You loose any common sense when confronted with a simple counter argument.
Your brain wiring is loose, so you lose!!! ;-))
There would have been no occupation had they not harbored and protected Bin Laden.
It really is amazing how in the eyes of the socialist, the US is always at fault.
Hm, my answer seems to have gotten “moderated”. I try to reproduce:
So, you’re naive (well, this is an euphemism…) if you think the 20 years Afghan war has anything to do with OBL or, for that matter, women’s right, or nation building, or democracy promotion etc. These are fairy tales for the dumbaxxes. Pretext. Geopolitics (foothold in Central Asia near the hinterland of China, Iran, Russia with a great potential for unleashing ISIS type folks to there etc), natural resources, markets, cheap workforce, all the usual sxit, the war was all about these. The US wanted to set up a client state, with a pliable puppet government. This proved to be a futile endeavor in the end, and was very likely simply too costly and too remote, the US got exhausted in the process.
The U.S. didn’t get exhausted. Rather, the U.S. elected a feckless appeaser as president and the feckless appeaser is the one who got exhausted.
The feckless appeaser is in big political trouble now because a large majority of “the U.S.” does not agree with what he has done in Afghanistan. His approval rating on Afghanistan is down to 31 percent, and probably going lower.
Yes, Biden was defeated, but he was defeated before he even got started. It doesn’t mean the rest of us are defeated. We are just angry that Biden is so stupid and got to play out his stupidity on the world stage, to the detriment of millions of innocent people.
There was a need 20 years (9/11) to put a stop to colossal terrorist attacks. But there was no need for occupation. If occupation essential, how were we able to get Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan without occupying Pakistan? Occupation was mistake #1. We know the reasons for occupation of Iraq—- Saudi Arabia and Iran and oil. I agree geopolitical factors weigh in, Central Asia is the future for investment and market control/growth of hydrocarbon fuels as the region industrializes. US hoped for a stable capitalistic democracy to forge a globalized economic agenda. The social justice propaganda…eh…no point in fighting religious wars. There were many very good reasons to end our occupation….but the mess there now is all Biden’s doing. Now there is very good reason to be concerned that Central Asia’s globalized economic grow trajectory will be slowed. Something other than military intervention will have to happen to change the course of the IS in central Asia. I don’t see the Taliban welcoming either a globalized agenda of robust capitalism or socialism any time soon…but they could be bribed by someone who isn’t occupying them and shooting at them. Money talks and BS walks. And is it possible that leaving drones, attack helicopters etc…. was planned? Was there the Taliban and other darker forces present? If so, civil war is about to break out there. It be interesting to see what proxies develop….. and sad.
You are missing a few things. I’ll explain one.
‘Afghanistan’ government has changed, through force, every 100 years on average over the last 2000 years. Soviet influence, and the two years of no rain in the early 70’s brought an end to any semblance modern ‘self’ government that had was in the making over the previous 70 years.
The nation, before we left, was in better shape to succeed than it had ever been. It was not devastated. They have been killing each other for thousands of years, they will now take a short break before they start again.
Most likely they will bring in help of some kind (maybe China). The leadership will become dependent on the outside help. Others will be resentful of the collaboration. Ensuing assassinations will follow & the ‘Country’ will fall to pieces again.
The above is just blabber, the one thing that I wanted to explain is that you are a dumb-ass.
Well, you were unsuccessful. I explain to you why: Without understanding, you can’t explain anything.
It was American influence that brought an end to any semblance of modernity. Remember, it was you who supported the Mujahedeen against the secular, socialist and modern Afgan government. Congratulations, moefoe.
Self deception is always dangerous. The Afgan puppet state was a joke.
What a heap of bs… Have you ever thought about what we (the “West”) have been doing for thousands of years? Like WWII? The USA was in armed conflict during most of its existence.
A little bit of self reflection at last.
Interesting rewrite of history nyolci, or rather a neat cherry picking of dates to support your argument. Let’s just say that western powers supported a southern coalition opposed to the socialist government and Soviet occupation force which yes, happened to include the Mujaheddin at that time along with many other groups. But let’s go back to before the Soviet occupation and before the Soviet backed coup that ousted the previous popular western leaning government and imposed an unpopular, unwanted and unsupported (except by the Soviets) socialist government on the people of Afghanistan. Which then started the various conflicts between the Afghans and the Soviets then between the armed factions for control of the power vacuum that the Soviets left behind them. Or maybe we could look at the Saudi wahabists that funded schools in Pakistan Pashtun teaching the people there (who would go on to become known as the students or taliban) a strict fundamentalist form of Sunni Islam and neo-wahabism. As you say, without understanding you can’t explain anything.
Interesting rewrite of history 🙂
Everyone called them “Mujaheddin”, and the US specifically supported the most backward people against the socialists. Sorry, this is a fact of the 80s. The whole thing predated any Soviet intervention, this is well known now. There was a deliberate destabilization, with a now famous master plan from Zbigniew Brzezinski. They explicitly wanted to give the Soviets their Vietnam.
Do you live on another planet? Do you really think the Saudis were some kinda independent actors in these? This is beyond naive.
Another piece of BS. The Socialist Afghan government lasted another 3 years, the Mujaheddins couldn’t break it until the collapse of the Soviet Union and the cessation of any outside support. The Mujaheddins then dully turned against each other. (Interesting and telling that the US puppet government lasted minus 4 weeks, this must be a record.)
The WWII in the pacific began with Japan invading Korea and China from 1933. The USA defended China against slaughter and conquest by sanctioning Japan.
Japan attack Pearl Harbor 8 years after WWII in Asia got rolling.
Get an education fool … oh, but Islam forbids it … Allah prefers totally ignorant fools … so you’ll be fine.
The causes of the Pacific War are well researched (“get an education, fool” applies here 🙂 ). This was a great powers’ game with an inevitable war. The fuel embargo against Japan much before Pearl Harbour was widely considered an act of war for example. The whole thing didn’t come out of blue with the “treacherous japs” attacking.
“The USA was in armed conflict during most of its existence.”
There are a lot of bad guys out there in the world that need to be dealt with.
More so in the future, now that we have Biden’s monumental screwup in Afghanistan.
If you went by Obama and Biden’s actions over their two combined administrations, one would have to conclude that both of them are secretly on the side of the Islamists of the world, since everything they do enhances Islamic power.
They enabled the Islamic Terror Army, that rampaged across the Middle East k!lling and displacing millions of innocent people; they are helping the Mad Mullahs of Iran build nuclear weapons and helping them to take over control of Iraq, and now Biden throws away everything achieved in Afghanistan and gives the Islamists a huge propaganda victory which will no doubt inspire Islamists around the world and will bring in money and recruits for the Islamists.
Biden has just jump-started the Islamist movement again. What a fool! And he thinks he is the smartest guy in the room, which compounds the problem, since he won’t listen to any advice.
And you ask with a straight face later on: why do they hate us? 🙂 Read a big about the Philippines, for example, that was sure a bad guy game 🙂
Yep, this is accidentally true. “They” is the US, this is a bipartisan thing. They wanted to use them as proxies against adversaries like Russia and China. Afghanistan won’t be a staging ground. Neither Iraq, the end is near for any US presence there.
Sad but true the best hope for Afghanistan was actually the Russian backed lot in 1977. If we had left them to it then Afghanistan would be just another country throwing off the strictures of 4 years of communism and in a better state than 50 years of American meddling has left them. There wa something villanous but jolly and independent about Afghanistan in the seventies. Chucking out Brits 4 times i9n 200 years is a sort of Braveheart achievement, and add in Yanks and Russkies. Pity about their Sharia and Islamic nonsense but if they ever free their women folk they will be an invincible force in world affairs
Being embarrassed in Afghanistan was a major factor behind the fall of the Soviet Union. Without that fall, then there is good chance Afghanistan as well as most of Eastern Europe would still be communist.
There is a horrible logic there. We think that history is made by a concatenation of causes and effects and that the whole narrative is predictable. Therefore a certain course of actions should be followed to produce a desired effect. It is also suggested that history is totally random. Over the years I incline increasingly to the latter view.
Benjamin Franklin had that view when he was young.
After seeing everything he saw in his life he changed it significantly.
Perhaps we are witnessing another fall… ‘Cos the real reason for the withdrawal seems to be simply exhaustion. Now not even printing money can help.
The real reason: Joe Biden and his delusional thinking. It’s as simple as that.
Unfortunately that ‘Russian backed lot’ was deeply unpopular and only really controlled the provinces adjoining Kabul. The various warlord groups had already started fighting the government before the Soviets joined in and well before the US started supporting the warlords. If the Soviets and USA hadn’t got involved then the civil war would have dragged on with different factions fighting amongst themselves. There is no clear answer, even with hindsight.
But they were a minuscule problem until the US started to support them. The Soviet intervention was response to this destabilization.
A miniscule problem? You think that while the Afghan socialist government could only control the provinces around Kabul and the majority of the population in the rest of the provinces supported the various warring factions that this was a miniscule problem? If the majority of a countries population is completely opposed to a government supported by a minority then this is a huge fundamental problem and one that goes back hundreds of years. Afghanistan is basically a country made up of several different regions, each with a different set of views and identity – the central provinces adjoining Kabul are one, as are the provinces of the Pashtun and the provinces adjoining Iran. Trying to get those groups to all agree on one government has been an impossible task.
In 1978?
Really?
That’s funny, I’m American, and I don’t feel defeated. I feel betrayed by a delusional President of the United States.
The Taliban brought this war on themselves. Bush offered to leave them alone if they would turn over the Al Qaeda terrorists they were harboring, but the Taliban chose not to do so.
Really? 🙂 Just a thought experiment. The US bombed the biggest pharmaceutical factory in Sudan in 1998. The reasons are now widely known to be false, and actually most people think the US knew these reasons were false at the time of the bombing. The reasons may be multiple, like distraction from the Lewinsky scandal, demonstration of power etc. The true casualties of the bombing may be measured in the 10 thousands, Sudan had medical shortages for years to come.
Now this act was clearly an act of terror. No one has ever been punished. Would you turn the responsible over to Sudan if they ask for them? And one final note. The US is much more responsible for this act of terror than the Taliban for 9/11.
How much caaahbon is released when a su!c!de bomber hits the button?
If they cut back on RPGs and the bombers, then they’d be talking some reductions.
(And NO, blowing off someone’s l feet with an IED does not count as “reducing their carbon footprint.”)
/cynical comment
Yeah. Er – Islamic State claimed responsibility for the bombers in Afghanistan, not the Taliban. The Taliban are, in fact, sworn enemies of IS. It’s a bit confusing, I know.
So which one of those love the Yankee infidels?
None of them. The Taliban and the IS would happily cut each other to bits and each would do the same to US people but (so far) hate each other so much that they wouldn’t join forces to attack the US. Then you’ve got the Mujaheddin which has little love for the US, opposes the Taliban and seems indifferent to IS (so far) as well as the Baghlan and Panjshir resistance groups which don’t seem to have stated any allegiances (so far). So far it’s a big mess and getting messier by the day.
It could be a rout Mr. President and they are not allowing extension of the deadline past Aug. 31.
The August 31 deadline is self-imposed by Biden, and Biden is the one that has put the U.S. military in this untenable position at the Kabul airport. And he is making no moves to get us out of this untenable position.
If Joe Biden were an Army general, he would be relieved of his command for making such huge mistakes of judgement.
I actually just found out that it was chosen because it was the proposed deadline in the original Trump agreement.
Islam seems divided on eating insects. Some scholars say yea and others say nay
I guess they’ll stick with goats and sheep To hell with the emissions
Now to see if the Climate Taliban will accept the actual Taliban into the fold. Now where’d I put my popcorn?
Kerry should invite them to attend COP26.
Winters in Afghanistan can be brutally cold. How will they heat their homes?
They may have some trouble running the tanks and trucks they stole from the U.S. military when fuel deliveries are cut off. The Taliban might want to start making hay to feed their horses!
Nothing was “stolen”, OBiden and his incompetent State Department and Pentagon appointees made sure they provided all that 100 billion $ of arms. The military industrial complex will make more, just the same as the CDC pharmaceutical industrial complex will be paid to make “boosters” for EVAH.
Appropriate political payoffs will be forwarded to the deep staters, which is how the SYSTEM works.
Why such hate for TRUMP!? He did not come from or support the system, although he did make mistakes, like signing the continuing spending resolutions and debt cap increases, something I think he will not do next go round.
Be polite. Don’t say “incompetent”. Say “diverse”.
Same thing.
Let me know when Kerry, S. Whitehouse, Bernie, and Edward Markey fly in to Kabul for climate negotiations and gift giving.
I’ll pay for AOC ticket….
Will the goats they take as gifts have to wear a mask while flying?
😜 ? Maybe 😲? I can’t decide.
Well I expect some of them are kind to their aged mothers…
Butt not to little girls
You mean the next ‘comfort women’ of this century.
dont feed it.
I travelled across Pakistan & Iran with my family when I was 13. Learned very quickly to walk just ahead of my father. Muslims are very fond of teen age girls.
And pre-teen boys
That’s not possible. Didn’t the UN send them a strongly worded press release last week?
Now that the taliban are in the fold they can supply a Womens rights and Human rights commissioner just like Saudi and Zimbabwe respectively.
The UN is a joke, isn’t it.
Maybe some of the Greenbeaners could be sent there from every New Green Deal country to act as “ambassadors for climate change”…. something like that.
Good grief!
The Taliban are turning into liberals.
Which compares to American liberals turning into terrorists.
What will they think of next?
COP27 in Kabul
Be there and mark your calendars!
With all due respect, there is nothing liberal about these folk (both that you mention). They are decidedly illiberal.
Leftists always turn into terrorists when they don’t get their way.
Fair enough. They can do as they want as far as I’m concerned as long as they confine it to their own country, including terrorist activities.
What’s happened is dreadful and Biden is an animal for just abandoning people there, but imposing western values in the region is futile, and the west has devoted the last 20 years there, ostensibly to capture OBL.
If these people want to live in a free democratic society then they need to fight for it, just as the west has done on many occasions throughout history.
When it’s handed to them by a reluctant occupying force, Democratic freedom is worthless.
“Abdul Qahar Balkhi, a member of the Taliban’s Cultural Commission, says the Islamists want to play a role on the global stage.”
And the role they want is “Lord and Master”.
The UN and its IPCC have been misrepresenting their motives in promoting deindustrialisation of the west as a “solution” to global warming for decades now. Taliban are just joining the club in which lying about your motives is acceptable, even though the Quran is very specific about telling of untruths as being a sin – even lying to infidels.
O/T but let’s not forget that Afghanistan might still be a sleepy little kingdom (with an armoury of muzzle-loading muskets they got from the defeated British in the 1860s) if the USSR hadn’t invaded it in 1979. And let’s not forget that Al-Q got its start as a resistance against the soviets, with lots of materiel and funding from the USA. He who sows the wind…
And let’s not forget the role of Pakistan, where apostasy and blasphemy are punished by execution, in aiding the Taliban since the western occupation started in 2001. Pakistan, a nuclear-armed state, where a thin veneer of democracy and the rule of law that were inherited from the British empire, hides a simmering cauldron of Islamism. Just as effectively as a burqa hides the female form beneath.
Dont be daft. Lying to infidels is de rigeur. Or maybe like that tw*t Blair you believe Islam is a religion of peace. Not that Christians set them any gereat example
They are just trying to get on-board the multi-Trillion of dollar$ from UN Climate Aid gravy train in coming decades.
easy money ; and if we all lived in caves we might still be able to save the planet .
No I did not make this one up-cr
No need, that’s what the Daily Mail is for
Is there anything else they could possibly say, in this Modern World?
Esp if there’s even the remotest chance someone will bung them a phat wodge of $$$$ for saying it
(and if that don’t tell anyone/everyone what a perfect train-wreck this climate thing is, what does or will)
So now, when they behead someone in front of their family, they can cry both “For Allah!” and “For Climate!”
Cool.
Condolences to the families and friends of all of those brave service personnel who may have lost their life in this afternoons Kabul attack.
May they rest in peace.
what a disgraceful betrayal by all of ourwestern governments . About on a par with the allies sending Poles and Cossack allies back to face firing squads at the end of WWII. Done ever think that we are the good guys. But there may be worse out there. But dnt we have a duty to take some moral high ground?
“On February 15, when the (USSR) 40th Army finished their withdrawal from Afghanistan. General Gromov (Thunders) walked across the “Bridge of Friendship” between Afghanistan and the USSR was met by Soviet TV crews, he swore at them profusely when they tried to interview him. Recalling the events in an interview with a Russian newspaper in 2014, Gromov said that his words were directed at “the leadership of the country, at those who start wars while others have to clean up the mess.” – Wikipedia
I would not be surprised if General Austin “Scott” Miller, the longest serving officer to oversee Nato and US forces in Afghanistan, who stepped down days after President Joe Biden said that US military operations would cease by 31 August, felt like doing something similar.
June 2021: Biden visits NATO headquarters in Brussels. America is back!
August 2021: Biden pulls the rug from under a NATO mission in Kabul.
The mission of solidarity with the USA.
Biden hurt our relations with all our allies. And his actions have emboldened our enemies. No doubt, just the oppositie of what he wanted to accomplish, but his delusional thinking misled him into doing stupid things instead of smart things and we are stuck with the results.
Not satire then, the Taliban is really trying to get in on the fraudulent ‘climate’s gonna get us’ money grab. Of all the ridiculous bits of alarmism and/ or opportunism I’ve ever heard, this just has to be some kind of ultimate! So, step up now, all you anti fuel fanatics, tell us how modern and planet saving your noble T-warriors are about to become!
Any group committed to cause more poverty, is something to fight climate change.
Ie: Everyone who voted for Joe Biden were doing something to cause more poverty.
I see a Nobel Peace Prize in their future. They will celebrate by beheading the emissary from Woketopia who delivers it.
Hey, congratulations to John Kerry, climate czar for the US. He’s now got to go negotiate with Abdul Qahar Balkhi, a member of the Taliban’s Cultural Commission . . . very likely their only member given the “depth” of the Taliban’s culture, but I digress . . . so as to coordinate how Afghanistan can now help “fight climate change”, and win.
With the armament left behind by incompetence/design, the Totalban will most likely become a serious problem for their sponsors.
I really wouldn’t worry too much about the equipment that the Taliban acquired from the Afghan army for 2 reasons. First – most of it wasn’t top tier equipment, apart from the 45 Blackhawk’s, it was mainly leftovers and older equipment that was obsolete in the modern US military and they’ll never get the spare parts to keep them running. Second – the Taliban have been buying arms and equipment from Russia and China for the last 20-30 years and have a large selection to choose from, some of which is far better than the Afghan army had. The Taliban use drones, attack helicopters, armoured vehicles and artillery systems – all of which they would have had without any of the stuff left behind by the Afghan army.
They’ve got my vote, then, Do they require voter ID?
Premature evacuation is a first-order forcing of [catastrophic] [anthropogenic] sociopolitical climate change, immigration reform, and “burdens”.
Technically, if they kill enough people, they are reducing their CO2
Obviously, since they say they are are going to “fight climate change,” the ones murdered and raped are irrelevant.
Perhaps they will “fight climate change” by forcing everyone back to a medieval economy.
Just need to eliminate modern education … Allah will provide … or not … whatever …
I don’t believe any of the reports coming out from Afghanistan.
People still gullible to fall for international news reports?
Iraqi soldiers killing babies in incubators anyone? Forget that one? Never happened.
Yeah – I saw that one as well, but what is the cause and effect? The actual story of Kuwaiti babies dying as Iraqi soldiers stole the incubators never happened but Kuwaiti babies did die as the medical staff fled in advance of the Iraqi invasion. The atrocity propaganda can maybe be ignored but people are dying caused by the Taliban – this is true, whatever the specific details of the individual cases may be.
Haha, Taliban goes woke, why the F not?…lot’s of $$$ in that…
They’ve gone woke.
Well I suppose the Taliban manifesto was the basis for a lot of Green Party leaders.
Pretty straight forward. Bomb the world back to the 7th century and end industrialization.
Climate change solved. Taliban style.
Well okay then, Taliban, all is forgiven.
president dimensia said he trusts the taliban… what could go wrong… they’re like the Isuzu guy ” would I lie?”
