Science Journal Demands “Hate Crime” Laws to Shield Scientists from Public Criticism

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

h/t TNP, Nick – Could criticism of government science be outlawed? A science journal paper appears to have equated Republican attempts to fire Dr. Fauci with physical intimidation and NAZI oppression of science, and appears to urge that criticism of scientists be considered a hate crime.

Note that the following paper is marked as an “uncorrected proof”.

Mounting antiscience aggression in the United States

Peter J. Hotez
Published: July 28, 2021
https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pbio.3001369

There is a troubling new expansion of antiscience aggression in the United States. It’s arising from far-right extremism, including some elected members of the US Congress and conservative news outlets that target prominent biological scientists fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

A band of ultraconservative members of the US Congress and other public officials with far-right leanings are waging organized and seemingly well-coordinated attacks against prominent US biological scientists. In parallel, conservative news outlets repeatedly and purposefully promote disinformation designed to portray key American scientists as enemies. As a consequence, many of us receive threats via email and on social media, while some are stalked at home, to create an unprecedented culture of antiscience intimidation.

Over the spring and summer of 2021, four major incidents stand out. First, Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) introduced house bill 2316 [1]. The “Fire Fauci Act” called for halting payment of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s salary as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and auditing his digital correspondence and financial transactions. Green’s follow-up press conference on 21 June 2021 included 13 Republican House supporters or co-sponsors, possibly the largest congressional delegation in modern times to single out and attempt to humiliate a prominent American scientist.

Historically, such regimes viewed scientists as enemies of the state. In his 1941 essay, Science in the Totalitarian State [10], Waldemar Kaempffert, outlines details using the examples of Nazism under Hitler, Fascism under Mussolini, and Marxism and Leninism [10]. For example, under Stalin, the study of genetics and relativity physics were treated as dangerous western theories, and potentially in conflict with official social philosophies of state [11]. Today, there remain examples of authoritarian regimes that hold similar views. In 2019, the Hungarian Government under Prime Minister Viktor Orbán took over the control of the Hungarian Academy of Scientists. Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro cut funding for Brazilian scientific institutions and universities while downplaying the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic or undermining evidence of deforestation in the Amazon due to climate change.

For researchers working in the pandemic response to continue to do so effectively, we seek help in halting the aggression. This is essential not only for our personal safety or national security, but also the reality that attacking science and scientists will both promote illness and cause loss of life. For example, currently more than 99% of the COVID-19 deaths now occur among unvaccinated people, and almost as many hospitalizations. To begin, the following steps must be considered:

  • The President of the United States, together with science leaders at the federal agencies should prepare and deliver a robust, public, and highly visible statement of support. The statement would reaffirm the contribution of scientists across United States history.
  • We should look at expanded protection mechanisms for scientists currently targeted by far-right extremism in the United States. Rep. Paul Tonko (D-NY) has introduced a bill known as the Scientific Integrity Act of 2021 (H.R. 849) to protect US Government scientists from political interference, but this needs to be extended for scientists at private research universities and institutes. Still another possibility is to extend federal hate-crime protections.

I’ll never forget a description I once read of a US scientist who visited an academy in a South American country. After he delivered his speech, and asked for questions, nobody put their hand up. When he later asked one of the students why, the student explained that asking questions is rude.

I’m totally against scientists being physically intimidated, regardless of what anyone thinks of their scientific conduct. But scientific progress absolutely depends on the unfettered right of anyone to verbally challenge scientific claims, and verbally criticise the conduct of scientists.

Robust criticism is the only means we have to expose pseudoscience, especially when the pseudoscience is backed by politicians and scientific institutions, something which has happened way too often throughout modern history.

NAZIs, Soviets, all of them had their own politically convenient collection of scientific “truths”, which were vigorously defended, not by evidence and open discourse, but by harsh government laws designed to punish critics.

Free speech, a right to criticise, also gives us an opportunity to discover and and object to unethical scientific experiments.

The measures Peter Hotez is proposing in my opinion risk creating the authoritarian nightmare he claims to oppose.

The Scientific Integrity Act? Well, here’s a thing. If such a disgraced measure ever actually become law, the first scientist who could claim protection under it would be our own Dr. Willie Soon. Dear, dear me what is the United States coming to? You can almost hear Mann rubbing his hands with glee…

“Why not, insted, a Political Integrity Act?”

And that would somehow improve existing law and ethics regulations?

Adding similar laws on top of existing laws only increases legal confusion that result in more loopholes allowing the criminally intentioned to escape justice.

It definitely doesn’t stop corruption and graft. There are reasons why the democrats are forcing multiple thousand page laws through Congress and the Senate. The recent ‘Infrastructure Bill” is a prime example of legal confusion hiding pork barrel legislation, additional taxpayer burdens and impossible to hold anyone accountable.

I’m not saying we live in a “1984” dystopian civilization…but I’m pretty sure that if there ever were a prequel to Big “1984” (and you can bet someone in Hollywood is working on one), then I’m pretty sure this is how it starts.

To the contrary, the opinion of the author, Hotez, is exactly what enable the Nazi scientists to pursue their inhuman experiments. He has inadvertently and strongly made the case for why scientists should be held accountable for their actions, and none moreso than government scientists.

It’s ridiculous to try to make a law that says one person can’t question another person. Everyone and everything should be questioned continuously, from now until the end of time.

If Dr. Evil (Fauci) can’t handle it, that’s too bad.

I heard Fauci called Dr. Evil on tv yesterday, and I thought that was fitting, after recent revelations about his activities concerning infectious viruses.

And notice these scientists don’t complain about the scientific arguments being made against them, they don’t even address it. Instead, they complain about the “far-right” and conservatives. They want to make it political, not scientific. Which is typical for science charlatans. They are trying to distract from the scientific arguments by bringing in politics as a substitute.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to stop criticizing bad science, law or no law. Trying to pass such a law might be enough to get me out in the streets marching.

The problem is Fauci is to close to the big bad pharmacy companies and is not objective
For future we need objective science both in medicine and climate
When the only treatment for COVID is the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and that alternatives like Ivermectin are banned by World Health you leave it open for solid schematism of his independence

That doesn’t excuse the other side from threats

We need truth and not political answers on the true outcomes for COVID
the sooner the world understands that COVID is here to stay the sooner we will have open discussion on how to manage the better it is for everyone

Covid is a CoronaVirus, the same type as Influenza. Same symptoms also. Although slightly modified, it isn’t much more deadly than Influenza. This time around, fear was weaponized to make it deadlier.

Of course the Big Lie was that it was a terrible killer. Most people fail to realize just how much of a killer seasonal influenza is, far worse than covid. And every year the crank out a new “flu shot” that is either worthless or effective, depending on if they guessed correctly which strain would surface.

The Diamond Princess was an excellent laboratory experiment, more attention should be paid to the numbers that emerged from it. But it was more profitable to claim huge numbers of dead to scare the populace into accepting lockdowns and masks.

I don’t think of the covid response as a big lie – more of a big panic. Faced with a modern pandemic of unknown capabilities, global leadership panicked both individually and collectively. After the initial panic they got in teams of behavioural psychologists to scare populations into compliance. Read “A state of fear: how the UK government weaponised fear during the Covid-19 pandemic” by Laura Dodsworth, it’s very enlightening.

I agree that it is a big panic but that does not preclude it being based on a big lie. Besides, the big lie is that covid is a rampant killer, which it is not. The vast majority of deaths attributed to covid were in people over 80 and with serious co-morbidities. But unless people were convinced that they could catch covid and die it was not possible to panic them.

If it is true that covid is a result of GoF* research that escaped, which it is looking more and more like it is, then when the truth finally leaks out a lot of heads are going to roll.

Pamela you are correct. There is overwhelming evidence of a global-scale fraud regarding force-feeding of the Covid-19 lockdowns and the toxic “vaccines”.

There was ample evidence ~17 months ago, by ~1March2020 that the lockdowns were NOT justified – not even close. I finally published that strong conclusion on 21March2020 after gathering more data – to confirm my conclusions.

I don’t published such strong conclusions unless I am absolutely sure – hence the three-week delay.

The panic was deliberately caused by the elites – wolves stampeding the sheep: “You’re all gonna die unless you do what we tell you – be very afraid!!!”

The following video ably explains the psychology of stampeding an entire population – it’s happened before:

LET’S CONSIDER AN ALTERNATIVE APPROACH: Isolate people over sixty-five and those with poor immune systems and return to business-as-usual for people under sixty-five. This will allow “herd immunity” to develop much sooner and older people will thus be more protected AND THE ECONOMY WON’T CRASH.

This full-lockdown scenario is especially hurting service sector businesses and their minimum-wage employees – young people are telling me they are “financially under the bus”. The young are being destroyed to protect us over-65’s. A far better solution is to get them back to work and let us oldies keep our distance, and get “herd immunity” established ASAP – in months not years. Then we will all be safe again.…

BAD NEWS – THE SPRING/SUMMER 2021 COVID-19 CASE SPIKES WERE CAUSED BY THE VACCINES, NOT THE VIRUS

I emailed the following to Jo Nova way back on June 27, 2021:
I suspect the “third wave” of (“case-driven”) lockdowns in the spring of 2021 was primarily caused not by the virus, but by the injections. But we locked down again anyway.
My fear is we will have generations of Covid-cripples who will have been severely harmed by the injections. Hope to be wrong.

And on July 21, 2021 I emailed Brian Peckford and a friend:
Worst case being the Covid-19 injections are toxic and there is a large death and injury toll – millions of Covid vaccine cripples within a few years.
Look at the Summer 2021 case spikes in England and Israel – my best guess is these are caused by the vaccines – this is NOT a Summer flu.

And on August 3, 2021 I emailed two physician friends:
I wrote one week ago on July 26, 2021:
“My 40% to 60% probability prediction is that inside two years, +/- one year the people who have received vaccines will become vaccine cripples, in various states of ill health caused directly by the vaccines, not by the COVID-19 virus.”
Covid is NOT a summer flu – it is highly seasonal and tends to peak in January as it did in 2021.
So why this July spike in “cases”,
–             Is this July case spike a result of poor testing methodology?
–             Or is it NOT a result of the virus, but rather a reaction to the “vaccines”, which have adverse effects that mimic the virus?

On August 6, 2021 I published:

See Dr Bridle’s pdf below re a vascular disease.

Our hospitals were ~emptied ~15March2020 for 8 weeks for the anticipate ”tsunami of Covid-19 cases” that never came. One 600-bed hospital in Calgary had an average of ~2 Covid cases during this time. Covid deaths of under-65’s in Alberta to 1Dec2020 totaled 13, or 1 in 300,000 of population. For this, we locked down on and off for 15 months. I say that was a huge error.

Cancer patients stopped their diagnostics and even some treatments. Opioid OD deaths more than doubled to over 500 due to the lockdown. Kids lost a year of school. Mental health problems exploded. Tens of thousands of business went under. Family violence, suicides etc are way up.

Covid deaths in Alberta totaled ~500 to 1Dec2020. Average age of Covid death in Alberta as 82, vs a life expectancy of 78.

I suspect the “third wave” of lockdowns in the spring of 2021 was primarily caused not by the virus, but by the injections. But we locked down again anyway.

My fear is we will have generations of Covid-cripples who will have been severely harmed by the injections. Hope to be wrong.

Please see the graph here:

More UK Covid-19 data at https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/cases

The reported number of new cases in the UK has risen to a high of 46,460 as of 22Jul2021, vs a peak of ~60,000 circa 1Jan2021.

This July 2021 rise in cases is also being reported in Israel – another highly-vaccinated country.
https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/daily-covid-infections-in-israel-top-1-000-serious-cases-climb-1.10008048

I don’t claim to be currently ‘up to the minute’ on all the CoVid numbers. However, I took a bit of an interest in the reported ‘ever-so-upsetting’ spike in cases here in Canada back in March of this year. You know, just a bit over 3 months ago now, the CBC, etc. had the most alarmist kinds of medical talking heads they could find (seemed like they were all Toronto based mostly) practically screaming that it was all going to go ‘exponential’ on us. At that time, when I looked at graphs and more detailed reports in places like MSN news, it certainly looked to me like that was just another random statistical fluctuation of the sort that no one can control, with no reason why punishing people with ‘lockdowns’ would be helpful. Since then, I’ve seen no proof that reported “spikes” in cases necessarily mean much of anything. Granted, last winter’s hike in cases *and* death rates might be enough to give anyone pause. The winter season sure did seem to make a difference in the wrong direction!

Now, my impression is that you may be engaging in your own form of alarmism, centered on the somewhat novel nature of the CoVid vaccines? Using mRNA to generate spike protein immunity is novel, and so is using adenovirus to deliver spike proteins into cells to generate immunity (I happened to get the Astrazeneca vaccine myself). The thing is, you do want people in the most affected age groups to have some significant immunity before next winter, don’t you? Somehow, we all have to balance the risks, and recognize that short term fluctuations may not tell us much.

The sad thing is, all the official alarmism doesn’t really generate much confidence in the system overall, nor do I see any really good explanation so far as to why influenza almost vanished, say? I mean, social distancing worked that well, did it, or maybe the people who might have gotten actual flu died of CoVid first? Scare stories and mysteries, it really inspires us to have faith that we know what’s going on, not!

I would love to be wrong in my hypothesis, but the evidence points in this direction, and the autopsy results are conclusive.

My original hypothesis:
Covid-19 is typically a winter (low-Vitamin-D)  illness and the Summer case spikes (that occurred in vaccinated countries only) did not make sense, UNLESS THE “CASES” WERE CAUSED BY THE VACCINES, NOT THE VIRUS.

Autopsy reports confirm that the “Covid cases” of June and July 2021 were reactions to the vaccines, which mimic the symptoms of the Covid-19 illness.

This is really bad news for those who got the vaccines. I strongly suggest they investigate what they can do to protect themselves. Do NOT take more vaccine shots.

I can appreciate the advice to consider new vaccines as having their own risks and limitations, but this seems a little different than forecasting a lifelong crippling effect from getting vaccinated! One piece of advice from authorities that I do find more than a little suspicious, though, is the readiness to advise ‘mixing’ the vaccine doses. This came out when the specter of the Astrazeneca vaccine in particular, as being supposedly too risky, was raised. The advice was that it is then OK for the second vaccine dose (the recommended booster dose) to be some other kind of vaccine, with an essentially different medical action to it?

My response to this was to insist that my second dose be the same kind of vaccine (Astrazeneca) as my first dose, as this is clearly the medically proper way to do things. As it turned out, I just had to do a little commute, from where I live in Saskatchewan into the city of Regina, in order to get Astrazeneca for dose #2.

That being said, it just seems to me that a little perspective by everyone would be in order. For instance, in the anti-vaccine information that goes around, much is made of the idea that virus spike proteins are toxins, therefore it can harm you to get those proteins into the body (in large enough amounts to promote an immunization response to those). What I wonder is, shouldn’t we expect most vaccines to be the least bit toxic? The body doesn’t react to nothing, people get sore arms or other reactions to vaccines, generally, for a reason, do you think?

To finish up, I’ll also note that I’m just about to have my 61st birthday later this month, so on that level it seems significant to me to get a bit of advanced protection from a virus that can be hard on people that age or older. At the same time, I’m not at all sure about what to advise people much younger, where even a minor risk, or unknown, could easily outweigh any protection benefit for this particular pandemic. If the ‘jabs’ are not the ‘magic bullet’ that is sure to stop the virus from spreading, maybe authorities should then just respect the right of people to take them or not take them, would that be too much to ask?

More autopsies support my hypothesis:

German pathologist Dr. Peter Schirmacher findings after doing autopsies on 40 patients who died within 2 weeks of getting the Covid shot. He concluded that 30-40% could be directly attributed to the “vaccines.” He’s not calling for anything drastic; simply asking for more autopsies of those who die shortly after getting injected to see if his numbers pan out. But, as could be predicted Germany has thus far been reluctant to act, and his story is being suppressed.

If I am correct, the remaining unknowns are:
– how severe will be the adverse reactions to the vaccines,
– how many people will be affected and
– how long the adverse reactions will last.

FOR THE RECORD – THE COVID-19 LOCKDOWNS WERE ENTIRELY WRONG – ALL COSTS AND NO REWARDS – THE COVID VACCINES WERE ALSO DEAD WRONG:

Read the Great Barrington Declaration, signed October 4, 2020.

More than six months prior in late March 2020, I published the same recommendation and i was correct. That was fairly easy – the difficult part was finding quality data among all the falsehoods.

I reached this correct conclusion based on credible evidence by ~1March2020, but i needed another ~3 weeks to confirm my conclusion, which was 100% contrary to the authorities’ narrative.

I now think the Covid-19 injections are also wrong, and will kill more people than the Covid-19 virus. Dead wrong!

All we really needed to do was over-protect the very elderly and infirm – the high-risk population – which we failed to adequately do.
___________________________________________

The Great Barrington Declaration

The Great Barrington Declaration – As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection.
Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice.
Keeping these measures in place until a vaccine is available will cause irreparable damage, with the underprivileged disproportionately harmed.
Fortunately, our understanding of the virus is growing. We know that vulnerability to death from COVID-19 is more than a thousand-fold higher in the old and infirm than the young. Indeed, for children, COVID-19 is less dangerous than many other harms, including influenza.
As immunity builds in the population, the risk of infection to all – including the vulnerable – falls. We know that all populations will eventually reach herd immunity – i.e. the point at which the rate of new infections is stable – and that this can be assisted by (but is not dependent upon) a vaccine. Our goal should therefore be to minimize mortality and social harm until we reach herd immunity.
The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity, is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk. We call this Focused Protection.
Adopting measures to protect the vulnerable should be the central aim of public health responses to COVID-19. By way of example, nursing homes should use staff with acquired immunity and perform frequent testing of other staff and all visitors. Staff rotation should be minimized. Retired people living at home should have groceries and other essentials delivered to their home. When possible, they should meet family members outside rather than inside. A comprehensive and detailed list of measures, including approaches to multi-generational households, can be implemented, and is well within the scope and capability of public health professionals.
Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity.
On October 4, 2020, this declaration was authored and signed in Great Barrington, United States, by:
Dr. Martin Kulldorff, professor of medicine at Harvard University, a biostatistician, and epidemiologist with expertise in detecting and monitoring infectious disease outbreaks and vaccine safety evaluations.
Dr. Sunetra Gupta, professor at Oxford University, an epidemiologist with expertise in immunology, vaccine development, and mathematical modeling of infectious diseases.
Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, professor at Stanford University Medical School, a physician, epidemiologist, health economist, and public health policy expert focusing on infectious diseases and vulnerable populations.

The Wuhan virus is nothing like the flu.

I usually don’t bother getting a flu shot.

I got one for the Wuhan virus, though, because I’ve seen the potential for damage that it has for some people, and I don’t want to be one of those people.

You don’t do anyone any good by downplaying it’s destructiveness. Does 25 to 50 percent of Wuhan virus patients suffering long-term side effects seem inconsequential to you?

Death isn’t the only way to measure the Wuhan virus. It causes all sorts of problems for all sorts of people, and we don’t know the end result of all this yet.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, though: Pfizer says they have a pill that can stop all Corona viruses and variants, in their tracks, and they think this new drug will be ready by years end.

I believe there is also another company making similar promises.

And, given that the CCP military threw out the French from the Wuhan Lab, and Fauci stepped in with NIH money, and the head of the Lab declared that they were involved in “gain of function” research, and the US Intel agencies have gained the deleted lab research, we need to wait for an analysis of exactly where US taxpayer funds went and for what. This will not end on a positive result for Fauci.

We must give allowance for black ops. Dr Fauci might well be wearing a CIA hat as well. When the bat lady took her training in the USA back to China, and the Chinese military saw her potential, what obligation did the CIA have? Obviously, to find a way into their lab to keep abreast of their work. Thus there is a plausible explanation for all that has transpired for years. Will we ever know? Of course not. The tell will be if all concerned skate away from any criminal charges for violating the US prohibition on GOF research. All IMO.

A Republican congressional investigation revealed that two years after the Wuhan Laboratory was constructed, the authorities put out requests for bids on enhancing the plumbing and air conditioning at the Wuhan lab. This was around the time that the Wuhan virus supposedly escaped from the lab.

The French were instrumental in constructing this laboratory. Someone ought to ask the French what they thought about the condition of the lab before the Chicoms kicked them out of the country, and whether the airconditioning and plumbing they built was inferior and caused the escape, or whether it was up to the task, and human-error caused the escape.

I do think it was an accidental virus escape. The Chicoms were obviously not prepared to deal with it and took drastic measures to try to hide it from the world.

And it looks like the Delta variant is now running rampant in China.

What goes around, comes around, it seems.

I saw an article the other day saying Ivermectin is definitely an anti-viral, and it can clear the body of the Wuhan virus in about six days.

We seem to be getting more and more confirmations of Hydroxychloriquine and Ivermectin working against the Wuhan virus.

And there are probably two dozen drugs that show some positive results against the Wuhan virus.

Unfortunately, therapeutics were put on the backburner early on, and have pretty much stayed there as the vaccinations are being promoted.

This pandemic was not handled well at all. Most of it is the fault of politics and greed.

The real question is why Fauci and company have put vaccines above both therapeutics and natural immunity and without reguard to risk reward analysis for people under 25. In spite of the drastic loss of efficacy after six months per the Israeli data they have doubled down on their strategy instead of holding up on new vaccinations until they find out whats wrong. Per Robert Malone inventor of the RNA vaccine, the lost of efficacy is a sign of the development of ADE. Because Pfizer is the weakest of the vaccines it was the first to show this effect. Maybe getting a booster shot every six months is a way to negate ADE and also enhance drug company profits. Unless the booster shot works people with ADE will eventually have worse infections from the Coronavirus than the unvaccinated.

GOVERNMENT WANTS TO DICTATE TRUTH
Analysis by Dr. Joseph Mercola August 06, 2021
https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2021/08/06/government-censorship.aspx

STORY AT-A-GLANCE
·   The U.S. government is seeking to dictate what is truth and what must be censored to protect the public from dangerous information. To that end, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., has introduced a bill that would strip social media platforms of their liability protections if their technologies spread misinformation related to public-health emergencies
·   Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has led the U.S. pandemic response team from the beginning, admitted he lied to the public about the usefulness of masks
·   According to investigative journalist Ben Swann, Fauci has funded gain-of-function research to the tune of at least $41.7 million, a claim Fauci has denied before Congress
·   Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has sent a letter to the Department of Justice asking for a criminal referral. According to Paul, Fauci lied to Congress, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison
·   According to Hannah Cox, content manager for Foundation for Economic Education, “Fauci’s disastrous track record of misinformation, laid bare throughout his many rounds with Rand Paul, shows why the government has no business trying to be a monolithic source and arbiter of truth”

On many occasions in the last year I have addressed the Senate in regard to freedom as a counterbalance to medical tyranny. And I recently addressed the Canberra Freedom Rally, remotely. The side that is locking people up for the crime of being healthy, arresting protesters, pepper spraying kids, beating up grannies, banning books and electronic messages, censoring social media, sending threatening letters, forcing small businesses to close, urging people to dob in dissenters and banning safe drugs that have worked for 60 years are all on the wrong side of history.

Allan,

It is quite clear that Dr. Anthony Fauci lied in Congressional testimony in response to Senator Rand Paul’s question about NIAID funding gain-of-function research. The truth is revealed in at least one published scientific paper that is open to the public. To wit:

Perhaps the most damning evidence showing Dr. Fauci/NIAID directly funded gain-of-function research at WIV is a scientific paper linked in an article published by scientific journal nature medicine (full version of it available at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4797993/ ) reporting on research using mice that provides these specific statements taken verbatim from the referenced paper’s main body text:

“Therefore, we synthesized the SHC014 spike in the context of the replication-competent, mouse-adapted SARS-CoV backbone (we hereafter refer to the chimeric CoV as SHC014-MA15) to maximize the opportunity for pathogenesis and vaccine studies in mice . . . To test the ability of the SHC014 spike to mediate infection of the human airway, we examined the sensitivity of the human epithelial airway cell line Calu-3 2B4 (ref. 9) to infection and found robust SHC014-MA15 replication, comparable to that of SARS-CoV Urbani (Fig. 1c).” (my bold emphasis added)

Note: “pathogenesis” is med-speak for the development of a disease and the chain of events leading to that disease” . . . now, why would one want to “maximize the opportunity” for that? And mice are the laboratory animals-of-preference for closely representing human susceptibilities to infectious diseases, especially those spread via airborne transmission.

A coauthor of the above-referenced gain-of-function research paper, published in 2015, is Zhengli-Li Shi with her cited affiliation “Key Laboratory of Special Pathogens and Biosafety, Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan, China”

Another coauthor of this paper is Xing-Yi Ge, with same cited affiliation.

Nine (9) of the coauthors of the above-referenced paper were affiliated with the Department of Epidemiology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA, which has close ties with both NIH and NIAID.

But it gets even better:

If you do a word search for “NIH” in that scientific paper, you find the following statements, again verbatim:
“This paper has been reviewed by the funding agency, the NIH. Continuation of these studies was requested, and this has been approved by the NIH” and specifically under the subsection titled Acknowledgments “Research in this manuscript was supported by grants from the National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Disease and the National Institute of Aging of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) under awards U19AI109761 (R.S.B.), U19AI107810 (R.S.B.), AI085524 (W.A.M.), F32AI102561 (V.D.M.) and K99AG049092 (V.D.M.) . . . Human airway epithelial cultures were supported by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease of the NIH under award NIH DK065988 (S.H.R.).” (again, my bold emphasis added)

Note that Dr. Fauci was appointed Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) in 1984, so the work reported on in this 2015 article was done under his administration (and clearly with his knowledge as he has to sign off on grants made by NIAID), despite his recent Congressional testimony to the contrary.

That the MSM in the US and other developed countries has chosen to not follow this story to its just conclusion speaks volumes.

Thank you Gordon – I think your conclusions are correct – and it’s looking worse every day.

See my note above:

“My 40% to 60% (now 60% to 80%) probability prediction is that inside two years, +/- one year the people who have received vaccines will become vaccine cripples, in various states of ill health caused directly by the vaccines, not by the COVID-19 virus.”

Note the June/July2021 spike in “cases” in the UK and Israel – Covid-19 is a Winter illness – strongly seasonal. My guess is the Summer spike in cases, which is only happening in highly-vaccinated countries, is primarily caused by the Covid-19 “vaccines”, not the virus.

Allan,

Just so! Thank you.

The data and reference links that you provide are entirely consistent with what objective medical researchers have termed “antibody dependent enhancement” (ADE) susceptibility to COVID-19 infection following vaccination by one of the current set of emergency-use-authorized vaccines.

IMHO, the human body was never meant to be forced into manufacturing foreign proteins, let alone the spike protein associated with the SARS-CoV-2, but that is the path-of-action of the new (still experimental) mRNA-based vaccines. Even the J&J vaccine is questionable in the way it causes serious, adverse reactions even though it uses only an “inerted” portion of the virus, not the mRNA approach (or so we are told).

There are enough documented cases of severe adverse reactions to these vaccines (even to the point of blindness and death) to show they greatly exceed the adverse-reaction case limits previously established by FDA/CDC to demand withdrawing a given vaccine from use. Yet the play goes on with such limits being thrown to the wind.

HI Notanacademic

Presume you are referring to this 1981 treatise by Jacques Attali, who was advisor to François Mitterrand when he was President of France.

This killing-off of the infirm, mentally ill etc has happened before – e.g. in Nazi Germany the weak were systematically weeded out.

Malthusians have been around for centuries, named after Thomas Malthus who wrote ”An Essay on the Principle of Population” (1798).

One observations about the Covid-19 lab-flu is that China has far too many old people, because of their longtime one-child policy. The number of younger workers who have to support the unproductive elderly is dis-proportionate.

Coviid-19, which targets the elderly and infirm, is a solution for China. One problem – their CCP leadership, who are also elderly, were not pleased by this move and told the Wuhan lab people to “chī shǐ (吃屎)”.

Not my expertise – just a few thoughts on your question.

Regards, Allan

[excerpt]

”The future will be about finding a way to reduce the population. We start with the old, because as soon as they exceed 60-65 years, people live longer than they produce and that costs society dearly. Then the weak, then the useless that do not help society because there will always be more of them, and above all, ultimately, the stupid.

Euthanasia will have to be an essential tool in our future societies, in all cases. Of course we will not be able to execute people or build camps.

We get rid of them by making them believe that it is for their own good. Overpopulation, and mostly useless, is something that is too costly economically.

Socially, too, it is much better when the human machine comes to an abrupt standstill than when it gradually deteriorates.

  • Neither will we be able to test millions upon millions of people for their intelligence, you bet that! We will find or cause something a pandemic targeting certain people, a real economic crisis or not, a virus affecting the old or the fat, it doesn’t matter, the weak will succumb to it, the fearful and stupid will believe in it and seek treatment. We will have made sure that treatment is in place, treatment that will be the solution. The selection of idiots then takes care of itself: You go to the slaughter by yourself.

Data Reveal the Truth About COVID Countermeasures
Analysis by Dr. Joseph Mercola August 08, 2021
https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2021/08/08/truth-about-covid-countermeasures.aspx
[excerpts from Ivor Cummins comments]

July 19, 2021, America’s Frontline Doctors filed a motion to stop the emergency use authorization of COVID injections for children under 18, anyone with natural immunity and anyone who has not been given proper informed consent.1,2,3

In their motion, the group included a sworn statement by a CDC whistleblower, a computer programmer with expertise in health care data analytics who has access to Medicare and Medicaid data maintained by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Over the last 20 years, she has developed more than 100 health care fraud detection algorithms for use in the public and private sectors.

According to this whistleblower, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) indeed under-reports deaths by a factor of five or more. In her sworn testimony, she claims 45,000 Americans had died within three days of their COVID shots as of July 9, 2021. The numbers get even higher when looking at deaths occurring within a week or two of the injections.

According to the official narrative, there’s no solid evidence to prove the COVID shots actually caused these deaths, but as noted by Cummins, the data does show clear correlation, as reactions are occurring primarily in the first week or two after the injection. After that, reports of reactions drop significantly. This is evidence of association, as otherwise, you’d see a flat curve of reactions over four or six weeks.

Good Video Interview with Ohio Lawyer Thomas Renz on Covid-19 Lawsuits

THOMAS RENZ – MULTIPLE GROUPS PULLING THE COVID STRINGS, CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS ARE VERY EFFECTIVE
Published August 7, 2021

Attorney Thomas Renz is the lead Attorney in several major cases brought in Ohio, New Mexico, Maine, and Nationally against the CDC and DHHS regarding the COVID-19 lockdowns, mask mandates, business closures, false PCR data, fraudulent death numbers and more. Attorney Thomas Renz works with and represents America’s Frontline Doctors, Make Americans Free Again, and Ohio Stands Up. Thomas begins the conversation discussing the PCR test and how it is not reliable. Medical profession could be held liable for false diagnosis. The WHO, CDC, FDA all knowingly used false testing and pushed this on the world. There are many groups pulling the covid strings. Class action lawsuits are very effective.

An important interview – the vaccinated are the ones driving the evolution of Covid-19 variants.
A narrowly-focused, non-lethal (to the virus) “vaccine” applies pressure to the virus to mutate into new variants.
My physician friend and I discussed the identical process many months ago.

David Martin on the Vaccine Choice Canada Live Stream
David Martin with Vaccine Choice Canada.
https://www.facebook.com/randy.hillier/videos/3071230013121442

This important interview with technology and patent expert Dr David Martin describes the history of the development of the Covid-19 virus and vaccines, dating back to 1990 and 2002.

One of my friends summarized the situation as follows. I have not verified this interpretation:
It appears there are grounds to establish that the PM of Canada, Justin Trudeau is guilty of crimes against humanity.
Dr David Martin outlines Trudeau’s involvement and the “racketeering conspiracy” that was put in place to “destroy human life” and the role the Canadian PM has played.
Did you know:
1. The lipid nanoparticle technology was developed at the University of British Columbia.
2. That Trudeau was involved with the companies that were bringing this technology to market.
3. That the decision to have only “vaccine as the way forward out of the pandemic” ( Trudeau) was driven by the business interest of the money to be made over this technology. The Canadian government was involved.
4. This information was in play well before the c/v pandemic was declared ( September 2019).
5. Trudeau took HCQ off the Canadian shelves in January 2020, thereby ensuring that the “vaccine” using the lipid nanoparticle technology would be the only way forward.
6. These were acts of domestic terrorism because the government had full knowledge and were participants in the violation of the “International Convention of Bioweapons Treaty.”
7. Canada and the PM are complicit in delivering the crime of criminal conspiracy , using the resources of Canada and violating the Bioweapons Treaty and this include reckless homicide if not, willful murder.
8. By legally bringing this forward as a felony, the rules of ‘immunity against liability” will NOT prevail and Moderna, Pfizer etc al, can be held accountable.
9. Martin has it all and he leaves us with another thought – that is just the beginning of what he has on Justine Trudeau.

Exactly correct. We can no longer trust the main steam media to provide a reasonably full coverage of events. The discussion on social media is under constant assault from the corporations who run the sites and governments who seek control over it. They seem to think we are capable of choosing who governs us but we are too stupid to sieve through the information on the web. How can both those things be true?

A Most Important Essay—-‘Call The COVID Hysteria What It Is’—Torture!

There’s a reason why you might be noticing the tactics and effects of psychological torture in your everyday life.
By Peter D’Abrosca—from American Greatness

Do you know what one of the most common psychological torture tactics is? Isolation.

Other common tactics of psychological torture, according to the Center for the Study of Human Rights in the Americas at the University of California, Davis, include indefinite detention and a sense of futility. Threats of death are also a common tactic psychological torturers use. So is degradation and sensory deprivation.

Torture is defined as “the deliberate, systematic, or wanton infliction of physical or mental suffering by one or more persons acting alone or on the orders of any authority . . . to force another person to yield information, to make a confession, or for any other reason” (Emphasis added).

Medical professionals make no definitional distinction between psychological and physical torture.

Do any of the above tactics of psychological torture sound familiar? They should. Your government leaders, at the direction of Dr. Anthony Fauci and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, have been inflicting them upon you for almost 18 months.

I strongly suspect that a lot of them are fully aware that they are supporting totalitarian policies, it’s just that they have been convinced by the media and their teachers that anyone who disagrees with government is evil beyond measure and that anything done to them is completely justified.

We grant such a high position to learning in our society and we have forgotten that educated people still carry most of the emotional issues they grew up with, and these vastly overwhelm their ability to apply their knowledge to the consideration of problems and solutions. Many university profs and other academics are people who just never really fit in and cannot see the world the way regular people do. They often seek absolute solutions to complex problems. Some problems are so complex that they defy simple answers and sometimes there is a stubborn human reality in the way of that simple solution. This can be intolerable to these people who’s world view compels them to create a solution even if it means throwing the interests of individual people under the bus. Hitler turned the experiences of rejection in his youth, his strict father and the depression into a reason to kill millions. He was a very intelligent man and saw a problem. He decided that destroying everyone’s world would fix that!

Hotez is the guy who mentioned during congressional testimony that antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) caused by previous coronavirus (SARS) and other vaccines (RSV, dengue) was a big concern that wasn’t being talked about, and then said they had overcome that problem. But study of ADE was not a part of any trial. There are knowledgeable people (e.g., Dr Robert Malone, the guy who invented mRNA technology) who think the large percentage of hospitalized or dead covid patients who are/were vaccinated (e.g., Israel, Gibraltar, Iceland, UK, etc) is due to ADE.

Vincent Causey

If you look at the latest figures from the Israeli ministry of health for Covid cases, in each cohort, the percentage of cases among the fully vaccinated was greater than the percentage of the population that was fully vaccinated. For example, in the 60-69 group 92% of the cases were fully vaccinated while only 87% of the population of that group was fully vaccinated. If the vaccine was a placebo, you would expect the two numbers to be the same. If the vaccine was effective you would expect the first number to be less than the second. If ADE was happening, the first number would be greater than the second, which is indeed the case.

In case you think I am cherry picking, this pattern appears in every cohort they list.

Today, there remain examples of authoritarian regimes that hold similar views. In 2019, the Hungarian Government under Prime Minister Viktor Orbán took over the control of the Hungarian Academy of Scientists.

I don’t know how accurate that statement is but the description of Orban’s government as ‘authoritarian’ doesn’t accord with his comments in an interview with Tucker Carlson today, at least not compared to the largest alternative opposition ultra-nationalist and antisemitic party Jobbik.

Richard Page

It’s part of the on going struggle between Orban and the EU. Viktor Orban and many in Hungary believe their country is losing its identity and national goals to an EU – dominated agenda. The (left-wing) Hungarian Academy of Sciences has been very pro-EU and first lost some of its research funding then, when it complained and wanted to look to the EU to help with extra funding, Orban’s government established a committee to take over running of the Academies research infrastructure and projects to ensure that they were focussed on helping Hungary in its national interests. Naturally the Academy has called Orban authoritarian and other things and demanded freedom to research whatever they like without ‘government meddling’. At least that’s about what I can make out – there are some exceptionally biased articles on this, depending on where the writer is located.

If this law were to be enacted, what would have happened to Marshall and Warren in Australia with their hypothesis that Helicobacter pylori was a cause of gastric ulcers.
They got a lot of stick initially from the medical establishment as it went against the then conventional wisdom as to causes and treatment.
It wasn’t until Marshall infected himself with H. pylori and developed ulcers, which were cured with an antibiotic, that the hypothesis gained traction.

Dr Fauci used his position to direct treatment actions. The tell was when he jumped up to contradict President Trump with respect to HCQ. China already in February had sent a letter to the WHO saying that in their hospital trials that HCQ had efficacy and Remdesivir did not. To downplay HCQ Dr Fauci must have had low confidence in China, Dr Zelenko, and Dr Raoult, all who were proponents. I thought Dr Fauci should have been fired by President Trump immediately. I consider this to have been one of Trumps biggest failures. He never seemed to get it that many if not most of the people in the bureaucracy senior ranks needed replacement.

“arising from far-right extremism”

“conservative news outlets repeatedly and purposefully promote disinformation”
“designed to portray key American scientists as enemies”
“Historically, such regimes viewed scientists as enemies of the state”

What a train-wreck – and who was it told ‘scientists’, climate haha scientists especially, to express their feelings. To reveal the ‘true horror’ of what they were discovering ##

Basically they were told to go out into the real world and talk to people.
OKaaaaay.

Why that would go wrong came from my experience as a student and, of all places, the BBC.

UK folks will fondly remember Top Of The Pops (TOTP) a 30 minute weekly TV program showcasing popular music. AKA The Charts.
On that program they had whichever bands/artists were available come to the studio to mime their way through their song.
Itwas deemed necessary to have an audience of ‘trendy young people’ dancing to this music – trying to recreate a small club perhaps.

And there-in is where it all unravels today.
Because the BBC very quickly discovered that engineers and scientists: Don’t Dance.

The ‘dancing audience’ on TOTP was always & invariably composed of students of the arts, languages, humanities etc etc – there was never any engineers/scientists in there.
(The BBC scouted around the universities to find their audiences – Leeds being one of them and hence how I found out)

Because students of The Arts etc etc were ‘more outgoing’ – in effect they discovered and were saying that scientists and engineers are ‘social misfits’ – at least while still students.

This of course gave birth to the Leeds University Student Union Society calling itself the DREGS
i.e. Drunken Regularly Engineers Gallon Society
Would they ever get away with that now!!???!!!

(The artist students did the same I’m sure but a gallon of White Wine on the typical female frame would have much greater effect that a gallon of pi$$ poor ale on the typical male.
Holy Cow, in the Leeds Union Bar you could get 5 pints for a quid in 1979. really

And thus is where it’s all going wrong.
Scientists, by their very choice of vocation, are admitting that they are not politicians or any sort of public speakers. The BBC did the actual research 40 and 50 years ago.
Different Strokes for Different Folks (is that The Technical Term?)
Yet as we all see and know, the BBC is entirely staffed by ‘artists’

Science was/is a way of some folks to remain and be useful to society without engaging with it, too much.
And when they ate told that they must, in order to Save The World, it can all go horribly wrong and they come running back home so that Mummy Daddy can protect them

## There actually is a ‘True Horror‘ – that they are completely Making It All Up
(Sorry, slap my wrist for preaching to the choir)

An even greater horror, as befell the shy, retiring and socially-inept Electronic Engineer me, is that a combination of Government induced stress and the over-use of nicotine to try alleviate said stress, caused me to have a TIA stroke.
(Vast majority of folks use sugar to cope with the stress > they get fat, diabetes and Covid as result))

The Horror was/is, at that point exactly 16 years ago today, I Learned To Dance.
scary innit

Fantastic fun tho

The question is out of focus: in democratic societies, scientists have no power, although they can have influence. But, in democratic societies, this influence must rely on elected politicians to become rules for the society. And that is the critical point: not limiting free speech and free discussion of ideas among scientists, nor criminalizing ideas as long as they are mere formulations and not actions. But, YES, assign responsibility to the ones who have it, who are endowed to have it and to act: the elected polititians. Because they are ignorant, because they are not critical when evaluating the available information provided by scientists, because they do not care to hear scientists with diverse opinions about the same subject, because they are incapable of selecting advisers that are well prepared and independent, because they are careless and rush to take decisions, because they ignore the subsequent information that invalidates their decisions, etc. It is them who have the power, it is them who enforce laws and regulations, it is them who are responsible.

Peter Hotez has his logic in a twist. Take his reference to Stalin. The whole reason why Lysenkoism could flourish under Stalin’s dictatorship was because it was NOT allowed to criticise that pseudo scientist. Hardly an example to support Peter’s position.

Fauci is political. He has changed directions many times and flipped back and forth. He is making his decisions based on political opinion or he would only change his mind one time. Masks have been useless, they have been a life saver, then they were useless again and now they are a life saver again. Also he ignores the studies from universities that say the us of hydroxychloroquine and zink would have saved about 1/2 of those who died on ventilators.

The slipperiest slope of all is when government bureaucrats are allowed to determine what is truth, and what isn’t. When I see words like “ ultraconservative members of the US Congress“, “conservative news outlets repeatedly and purposefully promote disinformation”, and comparisons with “Nazi Germany”, it tells me that the author of these words, not the target, that is the true purveyor of hate. “NAZIs, Soviets, all of them had their own politically convenient collection of scientific “truths”, which were vigorously defended, not by evidence and open discourse, but by harsh government laws designed to punish critics.” – article

You left out the Pope and how he mistreated Galileo, who refused to kowtow to the incorrect and Church-approved notion that the universe revolves around the Earth, and said so out loud. (That’s the short version, the real story is longer and quite sordid.)

Oppression of ideas and beliefs is not something new. The “truths” about global warming versus normal weather are simply another expression of a belief system that feels threatened, and is trying desperately to acquire the power to shut down opposing views. How very Medieval of them!

I may think Fauci is a vainglorious ass for valid reasons, and I will say so out loud, but telling me I do not have the right to say so, or to tell the ecohippies that they are potty-mouthed nutballs, and threaten me (or anyone else) with silencing is W-R-O-N-G, period.

I’m wondering how long that myth about the Pope and Galileo will live?
Galileo was not punished for preaching the theory of a helio-centric solar system.
He was punished for teaching it as a proven fact, when at the time, it still hadn’t been.
He was also punished for ridiculing the Pope, who until that time had been a supporter of his.

In an enlightened world, neither of those things would be punishable. Regardless, Galileo was not punished for believing in a helio-centric solar system.

The church was in fact in the process of investigating whether the sun was the center of the solar system and would in not too many years accept the helio-centric view as the scientifically correct one.

What you are saying is he was punished for publicly stating what he knew to be true. They told him he could believe whatever he wished, as long as he didn’t tell anyone else about it. But that’s what true scientists do; they make discoveries, and they publicize them. Which then lets others try to prove/disprove their findings.

Just don’t challenge us….

The church was in fact in the process of investigating whether the sun was the center of the solar system” which is why they were so interested in hearing Galileo’s discoveries…

Not….

Wrong on all counts, and nowhere close to what I said.

First off Galileo could have believed in the Helio-centric theory, but he couldn’t know that it was true because it hadn’t been proven yet.

If you had actually read what I wrote, you would have realized that I said that wasn’t punished for saying something the church disagreed with. It was more how he said it, and the fact that he insulted powerful people in the process.

Just because you are wedded to your myth of choice is not proof that I am wrong.

If you want to argue against what I wrote, then do so. Don’t change what I wrote and then argue against it.
Secondly, just proclaiming that I am wrong, may impress you, but it’s hardly convincing.

As others have commented re: the vaccines vs. Ivermectin, until the FDA and WHO issue at least an EUA for Ivermectin, I will have a hard time justifying getting a vaccine. I will instead follow the I-MASK+ protocol shown on the FLCCC website. Just a simple summary re: Ivermectin. It was first used in 1988 on humans to treat Onchocerciasis, or river blindness and has since been found to be an effective treatment for a wide variety of diseases. It has been administered over 3.7 billion times with few if any serious side effects. The developers received the Nobel Peace Prize for Medicine in 2015 due to it’s use in eradicating River Blindness. It has strong anti-viral and anti-inflamatory properties and has been used successfully in several countries as both a prophylaxis and treatment for all stages of COVID-19. While it, like any treatment, is not 100% (just like the vaccines are not 100%) effective, the outcomes are dramatically improved when using Ivermectin. For those unaware, the best source of information is the Frontline COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance, website https://covid19criticalcare.com/. Another paper, published back in 2011, speaks to Ivermectin as a wonder drug: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3043740/. Sadly, naysayers of Ivermectin refer to it as an animal drug – which it is, as that was the original use, and it is still used today on animals, but it’s use on humans is the reason for the Nobel Peace Prize. That the FDA and WHO use words like “potentially Dangerous” and refuse to give EUA status is frankly criminal in my mind. It is an effective treatment and should be used extensively. Problem is, it is cheap, so big pharma and Fauci can’t make as much money off of it.

It’s also a result of the echo chamber that most liberals live in.
It’s liberals who refuse to interact with anyone who disagrees with them.
It’s liberals who demand that anyone who doesn’t follow the party line is to be shunned, fired, cancelled.
As a result, liberals come to believe that everyone, or at least everyone who matters agrees with them. They honestly believe that they are in the political middle, mostly because they are blind to anyone who disagrees with them.

On the other hand conservatives live in a world that is flooded with liberal propaganda. We get it day in, day out from the media, from the movies, and even from the music we listen to.

Conservatives know that liberals are out there and as a result we get experienced at shooting down liberal nonsense.
Liberals on the other hand are lousy at defending their ideas, because they are never asked to.

In the above article’s introduction, Eric Worrall states: “A science journal paper appears to . . .”

As revealed in the link to the referenced “paper”, the publication comes from PLOS Biology and here are a few interesting facts about this “journal” and its own stated purpose and submittal review conditions (ref: https://journals.plos.org/plosbiology/s/journal-information )

“PLOS Biology publishes significant advances across the biological sciences.

“. . . we’re transforming research communication to fit the research process.

Portable peer review. We consider manuscripts on the basis of reviews received at other journals . . .

Consideration of complementary research. Although originality is an important criterion for studies published in PLOS Biology, the journal depressurizes the publication process by accepting submissions that confirm, replicate, extend, or are complementary to a recently published significant advance.”

So, in fact, first we have a “journal” devoted to the biological sciences publishing a “paper” that has “Perspective” in smallest font size in the upper left corner of its title page. That alone warns the careful reader to not expect to find science-based information in this publication . . . and in fact the referenced “paper” is little more than a political diatribe.

Second, what the heck does “. . . we’re transforming research communication to fit the research process” mean? It sounds dangerously close “we know of a better way to communicate research results than what has worked in the past” . . . what dangers might lay within such an attitude?

Lastly, but perhaps most significantly, PLOS Biology‘s above-stated manner of “depressurizing” the publication process by “accepting submissions that confirm, replicate, extend, or are complementary to a recently published significant advance” basically translates to welcoming submittals that support the confirmation bias of PLOS Biology‘s reviewers and editors. In fact, such wording is directly in conflict with the prefacing phase “Although originality is an important criterion for studies published in PLOS Biology . . .”

Clearly, one should not look to PLOS Biology for any controversial, let alone “beakthrough”, reporting in the field of biology science.

From the above, I conclude the “paper” that is the subject of Eric Worrall’s above article is not based on any science and is just so much political fluff.

Several U.S. Senators have discovered documents proving that “Doctor” Anthony Fauci had directed over $30 million of taxpayer money to funding “Gain of Function” research on viruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, whose goal was to manipulate animal viruses so they were transmissible to humans.

The COVID-19 virus, responsible for the current “pandemic” that killed over 4 million people worldwide, and the fear of which caused lockdowns and trillions of dollars of economic damage, either escaped or was deliberately released from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Dr. Fauci used OUR MONEY to fund research into what turned out to be a Chinese biological weapon that killed over half a million Americans. There is a word for aiding an enemy nation to kill one’s own people–it’s called treason.

Yet he remains the highest-paid employee of the Federal Government, making more money than even the President of the United States. Firing him would be the least we should do–this latter-day Benedict Arnold should spend the rest of his life in prison.

So…. playing the victim card. Part of the Left’s main go-to strategy.

In Marxist thought, there are always two groups, the oppressed group and the oppressor group. Classic communism called these proletariat and bourgeois. In critical race theory it is of course along racial lines. Always about playing victimhood. In this case the poor, truth bearing scientists are claiming to be the oppressed. Sad. But it’s a clear sign of being afflicted with Marxist thought.

This is why scientists should not be advocates for a public policy based on their own work.

The data reflected are based on an analysis of the 2018 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey for which questions were available and U.S. Census population data among U.S. adults in 3,142 counties.

If you look at Inglesby, et al, 2006, Disease mitigation measures in the control of pandemic influenza, you’ll find that Anthony Fauci could not have more thoroughly inverted good practice if he had consciously tried.
Every single recommendation Dr. Fauci has made runs counter to 100 years of hard-earned wisdom for how to deal with viral pandemics.

He’s either utterly incompetent or utterly lying. Likewise the leadership of the CDC.

The foisting of the experimental mRNA treatment on people is illegal under 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3, in light of available and effective drug treatments for covid-19.

Drug treatments have been recommended at least since August 2020: McCullough, et al., Pathophysiological Basis and Rationale for Early Outpatient Treatment of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Infection.

A 2021 follow-up provides positive treatment protocols Alexander, et al., Early multidrug treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID-19) and reduced mortality among nursing home (or outpatient/ ambulatory) residents.

There is no excuse for what Dr. Fauci and the CDC have done. It’s little short (if at all) of mass murder.

Wow, I read a twitter feed about this earlier today and ignored it as right-wing crank BS as there was no link provided. (I also heard Tucker say that the infrastructure bill makes it a crime to criticize climate science, I downloaded and tried to find text in the bill that says that but no luck.)

I’m blown away that a ‘science’ journal would suggest making it a hate crime to criticize scientists! We are losing our right to free speech.

IMO, what is going on in today’s times (FBI corrupt, misinformation by the media, NSA, CIA helping the left, free speech under attack to name a few) are the beginnings of communism coming out and spreading it’s wings. I don’t see it taking firm hold until they take away guns.
