China Gave US Diplomats Anal COVID Tests ‘In Error,’ American Officials Say
The U.S. State Department says it is committed to preserving the “dignity” of American diplomats.

The Chinese government has promised to stop using anal swabs on American diplomats to test for COVID-19 after Washington complained that the practice was undignified, the U.S. State Department said.
“The State Department never agreed to this kind of testing and protested directly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when we learned that some staff were subject to it,” a State Department spokesperson told VICE World News on Wednesday.
The spokesperson said Beijing had assured Washington that the test was given “in error” and that diplomatic personnel were exempt from the test, which was mandatory for incoming travelers in some parts of China.
“We have instructed staff to decline this test if it is asked of them, as was done in the past.”

In January WUWT reported the excited Chinese announcement that anal swabs were a more reliable way of testing for Covid than the scratchy thing up your nose, but I didn’t expect China to roll out the new test this quickly.
If China thought inflicting this test on US diplomats was OK, I’m guessing many tourists or business people visiting China in the near future are going to have an unexpected new experience.

Not at all. This action has one purpose, and one purpose only. This is to humiliate and degredate the US diplomatic corps. They want to see what it takes for us to submit. Apparently not much. If they can do this to those with diplomatic credentials, they got their measure of the new administration.
On the other hand, they would not want to interfere with business people or tourists. Both groups bring in hard currency.
The new US administration needed to be tested. The measure has been taken.

Every now and again a story gets into the public domain that is just plain funny.
Only in a country with complete contempt for human rights and dignity, would such an ass-ault of human dignity even be considered sane.
The only pity is they abandoned the practice before Kerry had been checked out. They would have had no problem finding the target to swab, if he had gone to visit.

China is All-in on controlling the world. They will push against the other super powers any way they can. The wildcard here is how long Russia remains only an amused spectator. If you haven’t read the Tom Clancy book “The Bear and the Dragon” you might try it on your next pandemic quarantine.

The book was published in 2000. At this point I’m not sure China would be interested in invading Russia for its oil. That said, China will pressure other countries in any way it can for a variety of reasons.

In fact, inside medical centers with infected patients, they discovered viable viruses in and around the toilet, not near the beds. Fecal transmission is the likely asymptomatic transmission mode. Coughing and sneezing are the likely symptomatic transmission modes.

First thought come to mind is to swab a test case with live virus in their ass. If it causes none of the standard lung symptoms which seems to be the killer then a butt dose would be better than a vaccine as the test subject could gain natural immunity without the risk of lung infection.
