Attenborough’s cliff-dying walrus convinced elite Davos influencers of a global climate emergency

From Polar Bear Science

Posted on January 24, 2021

For the past two years, the Netflix/Attenborough ruse to blame climate change for walruses falling from a high cliff to their deaths seemed like a silly PR stunt. But it appears the film’s real purpose was to convince a far more important audience than paying Netflix customers that a global ‘climate emergency’ was going on: the elite influencers and world leaders who attended the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2019, where the dying walrus film clip was introduced and interpreted to the audience by Sir David Attenborough himself.

In the spring of 2019, Netflix released its ‘Our Planet’ documentary that included a clip of walruses falling from a high cliff in Siberia to their deaths on jagged rocks below, which Sir David Attenborough’s narration told viewers was due to lack of sea ice caused by climate change. It moved people to tears, as it was meant to do.

Of course, we now know that already-fat polar bears deliberately frightened those walrus over the edge – using a particular effective, site-specific hunting strategy that avoided fighting the dangerous beasts head-on – and it all had nothing to do with walrus struggling desperately to survive in a warming world. This explanation not only makes biological sense, it’s backed by solid evidence. Since it is now clear that the truth would eventually came out when the BBC aired its own documentary in November 2019 showing bears driving walrus to their deaths, the Netflix/Attenborough ruse seemed like a silly PR stunt.

Now I know otherwise.

Here is a quote from a blog post written by Anatoli Kochnev, the Russian on-site ‘scientific advisor’ to the Netflix producers, who helped out with filming in Ryrkaypiy on the coast of the Chukchi Sea; the post is dated 7 April 2019 [via Google Translate, my bold]:

Just in the fall of 2017, I worked as an expert and field guide with a British team of filmmakers who shot walruses and polar bears for two programs of the BBC and the Living Planet company. This year, films should appear on television and computer screens… A couple of days ago [sic, actually months], at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Sir David Attenborough and Prince William presented a preliminary version of the film, in which one of the key stories was presented with shots taken then, in 2017, in Chukotka…The most vivid and dramatic shots captured the fall of walrus from the cliffs, where they climb because of the lack of space on the beach and to avoid unpleasant smells from the nearby village. That year, only on one of the rookeries where we were shooting, about 800 walruses died, of which almost a third broke when falling from rocks…It is said that some of the important economic and political bosses could not keep tears when watching a film in Davos.

My mind has always been on science and politics one of my least-favourite topics. But government responses to the coronovirus over the last year have forced me to pay more attention to politics than I have ever done in my life. Eyes finally open, I note the following:

  • The officially released video of the ‘conversation’ between Attenborough and Prince William mentioned by Kochnev does not contain the falling walrus clip.
  • Most of the video has still shots as background; the only video clip shows a glacier calving, starting at 28:20 and running until the end of the video at 31:28. The camera doesn’t return to Sir David and the Prince after the glaciers calving and that seemed an unlikely way to end such a high-profile demonstration.
  • Obviously, they couldn’t have included the walrus-falling clip in the version of the ‘conversation’ posted online in January because Netflix was not scheduled to release the film until April: it was an embargoed private screening and Kochnev was told, as thanks for his help, moved the audience to tears.
  • Greta Thunberg also attended that 2019 meeting and said ‘Our house is on fire.‘
  • With Thunberg and Attenborough presenting human-caused climate change as a global existential emergency, hammered home with heartbreaking footage of dying walrus guaranteed to bring the audience to tears.
  • WEF plans for ‘Globalization‘ in 2019 quickly became The Great Reset in June 2020, in their own words to ‘cooperate in simultaneously managing the direct consequences of the COVID-19 crisis.’
  • Hence the new covid recovery meme, ‘Build Back Better.’

Attenborough must have known after seeing the footage he was to narrate that the walrus death sequence was a visual even better than a starving polar bear for convincing people that a human-caused climate emergency was at hand. He knew he had dynamite and wasn’t afraid to use it.

The possible significance of the video being played at the Davos meeting, as Kochnev described it, went over my head as anything of significance when I read it in April 2019. As I said, I’d never been interested in politics. Even when it was clear the film had had such a profound emotional impact on viewers yet was a blatant lie, it seemed only to be the usual sort of thing environmentalists would do to get attention. But now, watching the world’s covid responses morph into a sinister-sounding masterplan coming out of Davos, this manipulation of polar bear science has taken on new significance.

The 2021 World Economic Forum opens in Davos tomorrow (25-29 January). Eyes open.

Once again please look carefully at this clip.
The walrus falls behind the rock slope out of view.
Two plumes of water then shoot up into view.
I am NOT saying that the Walrus survived the fall, but it appears that it fell into the sea.

We are witnessing the end of the process whereby the Renaissance followed by the Industrial Revolution led to an improvement in living standards for all of humanity over the entire globe.
mat the very peak of success it is being snatched away on false pretences by power hungry ideologues and greedy elites.
The wrong people are in control and will not be denied.
The level of disruption that would be caused by a forceful resistance is too terrible to be a reasonable choice but will things be even worse if they get their way?
One can only hope that proper Science will be reinstated at some point.

Attenborough comes across as a cudly wise old grandpa type figure but the truth is that he a through and through humanity-hating malthusian – his ideal world would be one where homo-sapiens no longer exists.

Freud addressed psychotic mental illness, in the individual, partly with an interpretation. By inclusion, a small minority were criminally ill; these might commit crimes. More recently, chemical imbalances in certain individuals could be treated with chemicals; bipolar disorder is one example. But why only the individual?

Contagious psychosis seems far more dangerous, infecting whole nations. Sources seem to include such people as Rousseau, Carl Marx, et el. Even the lie of the serpent, found in Genesis 3:4-5, aka ‘sin nature’ comes to mind. During the 20th Century way many more people died as a result of such contagion than of the entire Black Death epidemic of the mid 1300s. Today, we see a particularly virulent strain rapidly spreading. Most leadership has gone completely mad! Even the United States seems to have fallen to this atrocious form of Marxism! We have been proven weaker and more stupid than Columbia, whose people have fought this off for years, or Peru who simply rose up and ended that deadly, Chinese-inspired “Shining Path”.

This simply does not look like it will end very well at all. I can only trust Christ and nothing else, what so ever. All else is way beyond me.

Their pride will prevent them from ever admitting it and they have too much to gain from going along with it.” This sentiment applies to every alarmist, every alarmist scientist, green rent seeker and most politicians across the globe. The lie has reached such huge proportions that it cannot be challenged. Most people do not have the humility to admit that they have been completely fooled and they know most others are the same. There would be too many denying red faces among the pure elites and rent seekers who have an enormous $ interest invested in climate change. Even if we dropped into a mini ice-age today it will take at least 1 generation to dismantle the scam and restore rationality. This is the scary bit.

This whole sham goes forward because fighting CAGW is not the end game, control is the end game. Neither David Attenborough nor Prince William have 3-digit IQ’s, but greatly enjoy the limelight, and are willing to be the useful fools for others. Professionals like Dr. Susan, are shouted down by these CAGW fools, an experience I have personally received.

It is truly horrific to discover how the world is being manipulated by evil people like Attenborough. When I first heard this story I gave Attenborough the benefit of the doubt thinking he was probably suffering some early on-set dementia and being manipulated by others. It now seems that Attenborough himself is doing the manipulating. Totally shameful.

And yet walrus are very definitely affected by climate change: they haul out now in large numbers simply because the ice floes over shallow water they used to feed from aren’t there from increasingly early in the year, as sea ice extent rapidly declines each year and from year to year.

Griff, these haul outs have been happening for over 160 years. What caused the first one or the second or the third? You continue to make claims that are unscientific and without basis.

NO STINKING FACTS! I have searched without success to find FACTS about the January 6th entry into the U.S. Capitol.

  • How many people actually entered the Capitol during the “riot” on that day?
  • How many of those actually carried out violent, damaging or threatening acts?
  • Who were the agitators at the event?
  • If law enforcement allows a person into the Capitol, is it illegal for that person to enter?
  • It is said that the crowd were armed. With what? How many and what types of weapons were present inside the Capitol? Were weapons evident? In these days of arguments over the 2nd Amendment, why weren’t the so-called “insurrectionists” carrying, brandishing (and using) hand guns, rifles, and more?
  • Aside from assorted trash and litter, a few broken windows and scattered furniture, list the actual damages done to the Capitol that day. Put a dollar figure on it. Were any historic statues, paintings or artifacts seriously damaged?
  • What advanced information and how much knowledge did law enforcement have about plans to enter the Capitol? Why did they not prepare?
  • Even without advanced knowledge of nefarious plans, what level of law enforcement protection should be expected on a day when Congress was in session at the same time a million people are protesting that same Congress on the Mall? (We do more to manage a Saturday NCAA football game.)

The “news” about the “facts” of the events essentially stopped within days, and all eyes turned to the “orange man bad” meme or to selectively shaming and canceling some of the individuals who were present. Whether you support President Trump the man, support the principles which he symbolized, or despise him and/or his principles, shouldn’t you be allowed to have a factual presentation of the events? … Apparently not.

BS. The sea ice extent has been increasing and declining since before humans existed. The climate has always changed and animals adapt or die, sometimes both. They sometimes adapt by dying until they can survive.

Another DELIBERATE LIE from griff.

Walrus have “hauled-out” on beaches and cliff from year dot.

Amazing how they survived the first 9000+ years of the Holocene, when there was far less sea ice than now.

“sea ice extent rapidly declines each year”

.

And YET ANOTHER BLATANT LIE

Sea ice extent has not declined for at least a dozen years…

It is stable at a level far above that of most of the last 10,000 years

nice

Now we hear this:
Quote:
“”Earnings of wealthiest 10 men during pandemic ‘could buy vaccines for all'””
Seemingly, during The Covid Crisis, they are EACH and on average, $54 Billion richer than about 12 months ago.

Blaming natural walrus deaths on climate reveals the depravity of the climate crisis influencers. As I wrote in my book in 2013, walruses diving off of cliffs has been an issue in the southern part of the Bering Sea where sea ice has always disappeared every year, but is still home to thousands of walruses despite the lack of ice,

or perhaps because of the lack. Sea ice can block walruses from their required shallow feeding grounds.

http://landscapesandcycles.net/noaas-arctic-report-card-fails-walrus-science.html

The walruses of Cape Pierce appear to enjoy jaunty bouts of adventurous hiking. They also developed a fondness for climbing to the top of grassy plateaus. Unfortunately when they decide to reenter the water and feed, they sometimes charge off on an ill-advised shortcut. Some biologists have suggested that because they are limited by poor eyesight, they are just following their sense of smell and a direct line back to the ocean. Others suggest they are easily spooked by human disturbance or aircraft and stampede in a blind panic. Whatever the reason, between 1994 and 1996 over 150 bulls launched themselves into an undulating swan-dive. Lacking Greg Louganis’ grace, they plunged from the cliffs to their deaths 150 feet below. Only a few lucky ones were cushioned by their late brethren’s blubber, got a favorable bounce, and continued to the sea. Biologists have now erected a fence, hoping to deter other neer-do-well thrill seekers from taking the same fateful path to the top of the plateau.”

Fun fact – Sir David is the brother of Richard Attenborough, two-time Oscar winner, who was in The Great Escape with Steve McQueen and James Garner.

Mickey Reno
January 25, 2021 5:06 pm

It would be just like David Attenborough to describe the death of 800 walruses as a singularly bad event and forget to tell the audience that the meat from these stampeded animals will feed the clever ‘cowboy’ roundup bears for months to come, with high fat, high calorie blubber and meat and bone meal and marrow, SAVING THEM from starvation. If he were really interested in informing his audience, he might even mention that the bears were driving the walruses in a manner not unlike when American aboriginals drove portions of a herd of American Bison to their deaths by stampeding them over a cliff to die at the bottom, where they could be safely butchered and skinned. Which of course, all took place before CNN and MSNBC, when white men like “Buffalo” Bill Cody came with long guns and slaughtered all the bison with rifles without harvesting any part of the dead animal, in order to deny this fantastic, life-giving animal resource to the original Americans.

Attenborough is such a lying putz, trying to turn his audience into the modern equivalent of the bison or the walrus, panicking them into giving away their political freedom by running over a cliff with a bunch of other brainwashed, scared people. A good anti-CO2 alarmist meme would be comparing the CAGW movement believers as running toward a “Buffalo Jump.”

Attenborough is such an evil hypocrite, he blabbers about so-called climate change yet does not point the finger at himself as a culprit – he claims he is the most traveled person in history, imagine how much evil fossil fuel he has burned up to get his fat ass to the four corners of the globe.. Somehow he has absolved himself of any guilt as he figures he is among the chosen elite.

And if the world is overpopulated as he says, why doesn’t he set an example and jump off a cliff in order to “save” the earth?

January 26, 2021 6:11 am

You would have to be a fool to fall for this propaganda. I dont believe world leaders are fools.

January 26, 2021 2:35 pm

Walruses functioning on instinct are panicked into slipping down an ever steepening slope to their deaths. How cruel nature is to these unreasoning beasts we think as the ever escalating, increasingly strident climate alarms move us closer and closer to the abyss of energy poverty.

Some time ago whilst watching Satellite TV in Malaysia I watched on Discovery an item about the Okavango which had a commentary, sound only. At its end I switched to Discovery 2 to find the same film starting up with Attenborough, in safari gear, photo-shopped (or video-shopped) into the wilds of Africa. He was not there but pretended to be there. He is a con artist.
