What is the Great Reset?

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

Is the Great Reset a myth? Is it a Right wing fantasy? A global climate conspiracy?

According to the World Economic Forum website, the Great Reset is an initiative to build a fairer, more sustainable world, through international cooperation. An attempt to reassert the authority of governments over capitalism, to close remaining tax loopholes, and to ensure fairer outcomes for everyone. There’s just one problem. If the WEF Great Reset initiative succeeds, civilisation could end.

Great Reset or grating global conspiracy theory? Either way, don’t dismiss genuine anxiety

Parnell Palme McGuinness

I have a clear-eyed view of the world, you have a bias, and they have a conspiracy theory. This is the way the declension usually seems to work. Our anxieties are real and the anxieties of others increasingly bizarre.

Earlier this month, Senator Pauline Hanson moved a motion to reject the World Economic Forum’s “Great Reset”. The senator asked Parliament to “note that adopting the policies would devastate the economic wellbeing and individual freedoms of Australians” and that the Australian government should boycott all World Economic Forum events in protest over The Great Reset agenda.

The Great Reset imagines a radically different economic system. In the words, and word order, of the global management consultants McKinsey, the agenda will be climate change, sustainability, social justice and the pandemic. A frequently cited phrase from a WEF 2030 prediction is that “you’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy”. To some this means communalism; others hear communism. Whether you see this as a shining vision or a dystopian dispossession depends largely on your social and ideological vantage point.

I’ve got to say I’m not a fan of someone telling me I no longer own my stuff. But lets go to the source – how does the architect of the Great Reset describe his own initiative?

Now is the time for a ‘great reset’

03 Jun 2020
Klaus Schwab
Founder and Executive Chairman, World Economic Forum

COVID-19 lockdowns may be gradually easing, but anxiety about the world’s social and economic prospects is only intensifying. There is good reason to worry: a sharp economic downturn has already begun, and we could be facing the worst depression since the 1930s. But, while this outcome is likely, it is not unavoidable.

To achieve a better outcome, the world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions. Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a “Great Reset” of capitalism.

There are many reasons to pursue a Great Reset, but the most urgent is COVID-19. Having already led to hundreds of thousands of deaths, the pandemic represents one of the worst public-health crises in recent history. And, with casualties still mounting in many parts of the world, it is far from over.

This will have serious long-term consequences for economic growth, public debt, employment, and human wellbeing. According to the Financial Times, global government debt has already reached its highest level in peacetime. Moreover, unemployment is skyrocketing in many countries: in the US, for example, one in four workers have filed for unemployment since mid-March, with new weekly claims far above historic highs. The International Monetary Fund expects the world economy to shrink by 3% this year – a downgrade of 6.3 percentage points in just four months.

All of this will exacerbate the climate and social crises that were already underway. Some countries have already used the COVID-19 crisis as an excuse to weaken environmental protections and enforcement. And frustrations over social ills like rising inequality – US billionaires’ combined wealth has increased during the crisis – are intensifying.

Left unaddressed, these crises, together with COVID-19, will deepen and leave the world even less sustainable, less equal, and more fragile. Incremental measures and ad hoc fixes will not suffice to prevent this scenario. We must build entirely new foundations for our economic and social systems.

The level of cooperation and ambition this implies is unprecedented. But it is not some impossible dream. In fact, one silver lining of the pandemic is that it has shown how quickly we can make radical changes to our lifestyles. Almost instantly, the crisis forced businesses and individuals to abandon practices long claimed to be essential, from frequent air travel to working in an office.

Likewise, populations have overwhelmingly shown a willingness to make sacrifices for the sake of health-care and other essential workers and vulnerable populations, such as the elderly. And many companies have stepped up to support their workers, customers, and local communities, in a shift toward the kind of stakeholder capitalism to which they had previously paid lip service.

Clearly, the will to build a better society does exist. We must use it to secure the Great Reset that we so badly need. That will require stronger and more effective governments, though this does not imply an ideological push for bigger ones. And it will demand private-sector engagement every step of the way.

The Great Reset agenda would have three main components. The first would steer the market toward fairer outcomes. To this end, governments should improve coordination (for example, in tax, regulatory, and fiscal policy), upgrade trade arrangements, and create the conditions for a “stakeholder economy.” At a time of diminishing tax bases and soaring public debt, governments have a powerful incentive to pursue such action.

Moreover, governments should implement long-overdue reforms that promote more equitable outcomes. Depending on the country, these may include changes to wealth taxes, the withdrawal of fossil-fuel subsidies, and new rules governing intellectual property, trade, and competition.

The second component of a Great Reset agenda would ensure that investments advance shared goals, such as equality and sustainability. Here, the large-scale spending programs that many governments are implementing represent a major opportunity for progress. The European Commission, for one, has unveiled plans for a €750 billion ($826 billion) recovery fund. The US, China, and Japan also have ambitious economic-stimulus plans.

Rather than using these funds, as well as investments from private entities and pension funds, to fill cracks in the old system, we should use them to create a new one that is more resilient, equitable, and sustainable in the long run. This means, for example, building “green” urban infrastructure and creating incentives for industries to improve their track record on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics.

The third and final priority of a Great Reset agenda is to harness the innovations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to support the public good, especially by addressing health and social challenges. During the COVID-19 crisis, companies, universities, and others have joined forces to develop diagnostics, therapeutics, and possible vaccines; establish testing centers; create mechanisms for tracing infections; and deliver telemedicine. Imagine what could be possible if similar concerted efforts were made in every sector.

The COVID-19 crisis is affecting every facet of people’s lives in every corner of the world. But tragedy need not be its only legacy. On the contrary, the pandemic represents a rare but narrow window of opportunity to reflect, reimagine, and reset our world to create a healthier, more equitable, and more prosperous future.

Just in case the adults don’t get onboard with the Great Reset, the World Economic Forum has teamed up with Sesame Street, to reach out to the kids (h/t James Delingpole).

Although the Great Reset mentions sustainability and Covid-19, I suspect these concepts were loosely bolted on to the core idea to win broader support. The main focus of the Great Reset appears to be global political and economic unity, along with some concerning ideas about private property, and an especial emphasis on harmonising global taxation and fiscal homogeneity.

Why do I think Schwab’s Great Reset could lead to the downfall of civilisation?

The reason is if it works at all, Schwab’s Great Reset would put all our eggs in one basket.

Nations rise and fall all the time. Once great powers like Spain, Czarist Russia, the British Empire and Ottoman Turkey are now a shadow of their former glory. China, which a hundred years ago under the decrepit Qing dynasty was the plaything of greater powers, now challenges the USA for global supremacy.

Anatolia and Arabia for a thousand years preserved and built on the knowledge of ancient Rome and Greece, while much of the West tore itself apart in an orgy of cruelty and murderous barbarism. Constantinople (Istanbul), Aleppo in Syria, and Babylon Baghdad in Iraq were great centres of learning during periods of enlightened rule in the first millennium and early second millennium.

I think the pattern is pretty clear.

The point is, overall progress has continued despite the rise and fall of nations, and the incompetence and short sighted greed of politicians, because for more than two thousand years there has always been a safe haven, somewhere in the world for people of learning to flee the violence and barbarism of failed states and tyrants.

If the world’s nations embrace the Great Reset all this could change. If nations commit to marching in lockstep, there will no longer be an independent safe refuge, because all nations will make the same mistakes at the same time. The next fall could be global. A global fall which affects every nation simultaneously could take down everything.

Klaus Schwab, the architect of the Great Reset, was born in Germany in 1938.

Actually, no. Reading the “New Manifesto” – it specifically says that there will still be private property.

What it is, is fascism. There will still be private “owners,” but they will do what they are told to do by their “betters” in the central planning bureau.

Considering that all of the Davos attending elites strongly support Hamas, Hezbollah, etc., it won’t be fascism as practiced by Benito, either – it will be that practiced by Adolf.

Communism did not deny the existence of private property. What it DID, was impose Government control on all forms of Production, Distribution and Exchange.

That is why the difference between Facism, Nazism, Communism and Socialism was more a matter of tokens and slogans than reality. It makes no practical difference whether you have Title to your farm or business, if you have no control over what you do with it.
What you produce, how you produce it and how much you can charge for it are determined by bureaucrats with no skin in the game. Object, and you and your family end up against the wall or in the Gulag.

Visitors to Germany in the 30s struggled to understand what the difference was between the nazis and the soviets, read a very good book recently “Travelers in the 3rd Reich”, compilation of letters and such from foreigners, tons of small but interesting nuggets a of info.

The only measure that matters is the line from free to totalitarian.
To paraphrase Tolstoy, all free countries are happy the same way. All totalitarian places are miserable in their own way.

The best way to understand the relationship between Fascism, Nazism, Communism and Socialism. Fascism was Italian Marxism, Nazism was German Marxism, Communism was Russian Marxism, and Socialism is watered down Marxism for the squeamish bourgeois of Western Europe. BTW, in the US Marxism is called Progressivism.

The end point of all of the national variations Marxism is tyranny, poverty, war, and death.

Um, then why did Stalin starve independent farmers in the Ukraine.

You should provide examples of private property elsewhere in the USSR, and how its owners were treated.

Communism and Facism are strong types of collectivism, which is anti-human, ‘socialism’ just a weaker type on a slope to totalitarianism. There has only been one society that voluntarily adopted socialism – the kibbutz in Israel, which later voted itself out of existence.

Of course there will still be private property. You don’t expect Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, the Castros, etc., etc. to do away with everything they own merely to have clothing, food and shelter assigned to them, do you? The latter is for the little people.

Oh, and make sure you don’t do anything that might “violate” the terms of your agreement with the powers that be, or you will be canceled.

If you do not own anything, then the government can take everything away at any time for any perceived or wanton reason. You live at their whim and no more. In addition, your neighbors can just as well take anything they want, it’s not yours.

And, as you do not own your own body now, they can do what ever they want to it.

I’m not a slave and I don’t intend on ever becoming one.

In the US, our constitution says the people control the government. Under the Great Reset, the govrrnment controls the people!

It’s as simple as that and they should name it the Sneaky Takeover or something similar. I worry how many of us will be fooled or tricked by their “free stuff “.

The description that Klaus fellow wrote of the proposed Great Reset is packed with half truths and unsubstantiated claims. His vision of the world is fanciful at best and totally facistic at worse. Ronald Reagan described it accurately when he said the government”s biggest lie is, “Hi, I’m from the government and I’m here to help!” That epitomizes the Great Reset.

The central bankers behind the Great Reset know that if Trump wins the election, their dreams of dominating humanity they’ve been working on for over 100 years will go up in smoke, likely to never return. We’re going to see some startling examples of their desperation until their treasonous behavior lands them behind bars.

I hate to burst your bubble, Rocky, but if you are forced to work for the benefit of others, you are a slave. The three components of slavery are: 1) one person works 2) another person benefits 3) because of force/coercion/violence.

If the government removes some of your property (earned with your labor) and gives it to someone else – as happens in America with things like “Social Security” and “welfare,” then you are a slave.

I don’t know why people think the only kind of slavery is chattel slavery. A chattel slave might be able to one day earn his freedom. As a slave under this newer system, I cannot. I will be a slave all my life. And all because people really don’t mind slavery, as long as they get to be the masters.

I started studying global warming/climate science in 1985 and started publishing in 2002 – it’s getting to be a long time.
We published about the falsehoods of catastrophic global warming and green energy in 2002. By 2008 I had the science pretty well sorted and by 2009 I published that the CAGW scare was a deliberate leftist false scam.
Now that the World Economic Forum, Trudeau and other leftist conspirators have linked the climate change scam and the Covid lockdown scam, it is abundantly clear what their plan is.
The Great Reset is a direct move to a central-planned socialist system with a few princes in charge, looking down on all the poor peasants. It is the dictatorship model of Communist China, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, and many other leftist sh!tholes, coming soon to a theater near you.
Europe and Canada are finished, and are far down the “poverty road to Venezuela”. If USA falls, it will be the end of freedom, and there will be nowhere else to run to. Told you so, 18 years ago.

Justin Trudeau, a man of no education and no life achievements, somehow believes he suddenly has the intellect and foresight to lead his nation into the Great Reset – the Brave New World of Neo-Marxism. Trudeau certainly did not campaign on this platform, and when I tried to warn Canada of his covert plans before the 2019 election, Trudeau’s “bought” Canadian press refused to print my exposé of his secret Marxist plot.

TRUDEAU CALLS GREAT RESET A “CONSPIRACY THEORY,” DESPITE IT BEING MENTIONED IN OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS AND HIS OWN STATEMENTS
https://spencerfernando.com/2020/11/24/trudeau-calls-great-reset-a-conspiracy-theory-despite-it-being-mentioned-in-official-government-documents-and-his-own-statements/

It takes a special kind of arrogance to lie so brazenly.

Justin Trudeau and much of the establishment media have called the Great Reset a “conspiracy theory.”

That might be news to the Bank of Canada.

In an August 20, 2020 document, the Bank of Canada Deputy Governor issued a paper titled “The Great Reset,” with the subheading of “Supporting the transition to a greener, smarter economy.”
The paper goes on to say “COVID-19 is a shock and an opportunity,” and “Pivot to a greener, smarter economy?”

Interestingly, Trudeau’s PMO also may be surprised to hear Trudeau call it a conspiracy, since they put out a statement on his behalf in which he mentions it repeatedly.

Here it is:
“Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and the Commonwealth group of Permanent Representatives to the United Nations regarding financing for development and the Great Reset initiative. The Prime Minister thanked His Royal Highness for initiating the discussion at such a critical time and for championing the Great Reset initiative to build a better and more sustainable future for all.

Prime Minister Trudeau highlighted the importance of the Commonwealth as a space for dialogue and collective action on global issues related to sustainable development. He addressed the ongoing challenge posed by COVID-19 and the need to build back stronger, more resilient, and greener economies. The Prime Minister also noted the importance of multi-stakeholder partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society in shaping the future global economy in a way that supports social inclusion, fairness, equality, and sustainability.

The Prime Minister, His Royal Highness, and the Permanent Representatives discussed economic recovery and sustainability initiatives that will support the objectives of the Great Reset. The Prime Minister also underscored Canada’s continued commitment to climate action, and announced a new $9.5 million contribution to the Climate Finance Access Network. This contribution will help some of the most climate-vulnerable countries, notably Pacific small island developing states, to more easily access international climate finance. It will complement other recent initiatives supporting partnerships on climate action, including with Caribbean and African states.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the joint initiative he recently launched with the United Nations Secretary-General and the Prime Minister of Jamaica to accelerate the global response to the pandemic. This initiative emphasizes the need to improve access to critical development financing, including by low- and middle-income countries, to help them recover and “build back better”, creating more prosperous, resilient and inclusive economies and societies.

COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving global challenge. The Government of Canada is working closely with international partners to minimize the economic impact of the virus and to ensure that the global recovery is focused on building back stronger, more sustainable economies.”

By my count, “Great Reset” is mentioned 3 times.

Yet, Trudeau expects us to ignore what is right in front of us.

Nobody voted for a “great reset,” and nobody campaigned on it.

We were repeatedly told by governments that the number 1 goal was to fight the virus and protect the economy.

Instead, they are seeking to exploit this moment.

Ask yourself this:
If they could have passed the policies being pushed in the “great reset,” wouldn’t they have done so already?

The fact is, people wouldn’t vote for draconian and economically destructive measures, and so they were largely held back.

But now, with countries mired in fear, many politicians see an opportunity to push their agenda of increased taxes, increased centralization, and economic stagnation.

Worst of all, they are so arrogant, and so sure of their ‘unchallengeable power,’ that they are lying right to your face about it, expecting you to believe their false words rather than your own mind.

No, the problem is the last 2-3 generations do NOT know that Communism or Socialism does not work!

They have been thoroughly indoctrinated to believe Capitalism is bad and Socialism or Social Justice etc etc is the ideal model. Along with post modernism, where there is no such thing as absolute truth, only subjective truth, which negates the scientific method, and on and on…

And this intellectual cancer or pathogen as Gad Saad puts it, is so deeply ingrained, that now people at all levels of government, industry and academia are in positions of power with this completely false narrative/belief system.

It’s just a road map to dictatorship.

They use idealistic billionaires or ‘champagne socialists’ to get into power, but they will be the first one’s targeted when a dictator comes to power, because capitalism or anyone with wealth would be a threat to their power. This was Venezuela’s plan.

When Maduro was ‘elected’ the BBC was promoting Maduro’s government as a model government; how did that work out?

It’s also what is now happening with the US election, where they have used the same voting machines and software as Venezuela.

If anyone had suggested a year ago that social and mainstream media would be censoring the President and election facts, they would have been called a conspiracy theorist. Wait to see what’s coming, it’s going to get far worse.

I feel for those two Sheriff’s Deputies. I strongly support those guys and dangers many of them put themselves in everyday by responding to domestic violence calls and gang fights.

They are caught between a State leadership like Comrade Governor Cuomo issuing edicts and a Constitution that says they must uphold laws passed by a Legistlature.

The Day is quickly coming for those Deputies where the stand, with the Law passed by Legislatures, or Mandates and edicts from Tyrant governors and mayors… and maybe soon a U.S. President.

I do not feel sorry for them at all.
They are attempting to enforce repressive and probably illegal and unconstitutional rules imposed without proper legislative authority.
Many sheriffs and chiefs of police have stated flatly they will not be responding to calls such as this, will not be enforcing such edicts, and will not knock on doors or hassle people over any of this BS.
The police can choose what laws they will enforce, as we see every day now when people block roads with illegal “protests” that are protesting nothing, riots that consists of violent gangs of thugs assaulting people, destroying property, setting fires, and in more cases than can be counting, even worse than that.
The police routinely “stand down” when these things are going on, often doing nothing while people are attacked and assaulted in the sight of the police.

So they do nothing while people break actual laws, and enforce illegals rules that have no historical precedent or constitutional basis.

But someone ‘above’ your social credit scale will own what you are using. All the people pushing this in Davos are expecting to continue being rich and owning all the other little people’s property.
Perhaps someone should suggest to them that as the proles will be so happy not owning anything – all the attendees at Davos and senior levels of the UN will be reduced to proles Jan 1st 2030 – they will no longer own anything either and they will be happy – right Bill Gates? Prince Charles? Justin Trudeau? Klaus Schwab?
The new senior level owners will be selected at random from populations of the world with a ‘reign’ of 4 years then back to prole.

No?
So you mean that the Great Reset is an excellent idea as long as it does not affect your wealth, freedom and property?

Capitalism requires investment. Historically, women have not been the investors. They have been happy to let others do the work and take the risks. Capitalist, they ain’t.
That is why the vast majority of major business have been started and built by men. It’s not a patriarchal conspiracy. It’s a question of who is doing the work and taking the risks.

Loydo, Corporations only get to be “Mega-Rich” if they have a product or service that people need and voluntarily buy, if Governments need and buy, if Governments funnel money to those corporations through corruption and/or incompetence, or if they convince people to invest (in either snake oil or a valuable enterprise). Individuals can get to be “mega-rich” by hard work, invention, savvy investing, inheritance, criminal enterprise, corruption, bilking the gullible, etc. You cannot credibly equate wealthy corporations with wealthy individuals in many, if not most cases. To attempt to equate these two (mostly) disparite things shows a fundamental misunderstanding that must come either from ignorance or a twisted world view.

I would like to agree with you, but my fear is that Dominion type voting machines will become the norm in western democracies. In the UK voting is done the old fashioned way, but I am just waiting to see how long it is before they suggest voting machines be used. They will use empty slogans like “digital age” and moving into the 21st century. Then before you know it, it will become mandatory. That is how democracy dies.

There has been an increasing use of postal votes in the UK, initiated by Tony Blair.

We have made fun of Russian voting for years, claiming that it is rigged. If the charges about Dominion are valid, then the real scary thing is that once a party gains power, it can expect to remain in power indefinitely. Representative democracy, as we have known it, will be dead. Some trolls have accused Trump of treason. However, the real traitors are those who refuse to accept the possibility of a rigged election and won’t demand an investigation or legislative changes to prevent it from happening in the future. Progressives complain about Trump being a dictator or fascist, and yet, are perfectly comfortable with the idea of subverting an election as long as the outcome is one they are happy with.

To say he helped send Jews to the death camps is not supported by any evidence I’ve seen (though given the character of the man he became, it’s certainly not an unbelievable assertion). However, that’s not to say he didn’t collaborate with what was going on. Soros was asked during a 60 minutes interview if he “helped in the confiscation of the property from the Jews” to which he responded “yes, that’s right.”

Kroft: “My understanding is that you went … went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from the Jews.”
Soros: “Yes, that’s right. Yes.”

He went on to say that if he wasn’t there someone else would be doing it and that he regrets none of what he did back then.

Kroft: “No feeling of guilt?”
Soros: “No.”

Basically his defense for his collaboration was “I was just following orders”.

George’s father, Tivadar Soros, confirmed his son’s collaboration in his 1965 autobiography, Masquerade: Dancing Around Death in Nazi Occupied Hungary. Tivadar wrote “He [George Soros] even helped with the inventory”.

Gail Combs says: April 14, 2012 at 5:28 am
There is also the question of how good the data is during the time of Red China’s “Purges” where up to 80 million were killed.
http://www.paulbogdanor.com/left/china/deaths2.html

Thank you Gail for remembering these tortured millions. Below is an excerpt from that article.

The CAGW scam is not, as many of us originally believed, the innocent errors of a close-knit team of highly dyslexic scientists. The evidence from the ClimateGate emails and many other sources, and the intransigence of these global warming fraudsters when faced with the overwhelming failure of their scientific predictions, suggests much darker motives.

The lesson of Mao, Hitler and Stalin is that one should not trust, and one should never cede power, to those who have no moral compass.

Best regards, Allan

SCHOLARS CONTINUE TO REVEAL MAO’S MONSTROSITIES
Exiled Chinese historians emerge with evidence of cannibalism and up to 80 million deaths under the communist leader’s regime.
Beth Duff-Brown,
Los Angeles Times,
November 20, 1994

Gong Xiaoxia recalls the blank expression on the man’s face as he was beaten to death by a Chinese mob.
He died without a name, becoming another statistic among millions.
“I remember him so vividly, he really had no expression on his face,” Gong said. “After about 10 or 20 minutes, God knows how long, someone took out a knife and hit him right into the heart.”
He was then strung on a pole and left dangling and rotting for two months.
“I think the most terrible thing, when I recall that period, the most terrible thing that struck me was our indifference,” said Gong, today a 38-year-old graduate student at Harvard researching her own history.
That terrible period was China’s 1966-1976 Cultural Revolution. The blinding indifference was in the name of Chairman Mao Tse-tung and the Communist Party.
Gong is among a new wave of scholars and intellectuals, both Western and Chinese, who believe modern Chinese history needs rewriting.
While the focus of many books and articles today is on China’s successful economic reforms, dramatic new figures for the number of people who died as a result of Mao Tse-tung’s policies are surfacing, along with horrifying proof of cannibalism during the Cultural Revolution.
It is now believed that as many as 60 million to 80 million people may have died because of Mao’s policies-making him responsible for more deaths than Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin combined.
Gong said killer is not a strong enough word to describe Mao. “He was a monster,” she said.

Instead of arguing about the science of global warming, we should just listen to what these enviro radicals are actually SAYING and DOING.

Maybe they know their global warming science is bogus, but it suits their purpose to use global warming hysteria as a smokescreen to mask their true intentions.

The radical warmists have done everything in their power to starve the world of fossil fuel energy that is required for continued global prosperity.

They have squandered a trillion dollars of scarce global resources on catastrophic humanmade global warming (CAGW) nonsense.

Investing these squandered resources in clean drinking water and sanitation alone would have saved the ~50 million kids who died from drinking contaminated water in the past 25+ years of CAGW hysteria.

Intelligent use of these scarce global resources could have easily saved as many people as were killed in the atrocities of Hitler, Stalin, or Mao.

50 million people died in Hitler’s WW2. Josef Stalin killed another 50 million of his own people in internal purges. Leftist hero Mao gets the prize, killing as many as 80 million Chinese during his Great Leap Backward.

The radical environmental movement has done equally well, rivaling Mao for fatalities caused by the banning of DDT and the misallocation of scarce global resources on the fraud of catastrophic humanmade global warming.

Since many of these enviro radicals are latter-day Malthusians, Club of Rome types, etc., it is reasonable to assume that THIS WAS THEIR INTENTION.

Is this too radical a proposal? Well, NO it is not: In addition to what the radical enviros DO, let’s EXAMINE what they SAY (h/t to Wayne):

”My three goals would be to reduce human population to about 100 million worldwide, destroy the industrial infrastructure and see wilderness, with its full complement of species, returning throughout the world.”
David Foreman,
co-founder of Earth First!

”A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.”
Ted Turner,
Founder of CNN and major UN donor

”The prospect of cheap fusion energy is the worst thing that could happen to the planet.”
Jeremy Rifkin,

”Giving society cheap, abundant energy would be the equivalent of giving an idiot child a machine gun.”
Paul Ehrlich,

”The big threat to the planet is people: there are too many, doing too well economically and burning too much oil.”
Sir James Lovelock,
BBC Interview

”We need to get some broad based support, to capture the public’s imagination… So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts… Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.”
Stephen Schneider,
Stanford Professor of Climatology,
Lead author of many IPCC reports

”Unless we announce disasters no one will listen.”
Sir John Houghton,
First chairman of the IPCC

”It doesn’t matter what is true, it only matters what people believe is true.”
Paul Watson,
Co-founder of Greenpeace

”Childbearing should be a punishable crime against society, unless the parents hold a government license. All potential parents should be required to use contraceptive chemicals, the government issuing antidotes to citizens chosen for childbearing.”
David Brower,
First Executive Director of the Sierra Club

”We’ve got to ride this global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic and environmental policy.”
Timothy Wirth,
President of the UN Foundation

”No matter if the science of global warming is all phony… climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world.”
Christine Stewart,
former Canadian Minister of the Environment

”The only way to get our society to truly change is to frighten people with the possibility of a catastrophe.”
Emeritus Professor Daniel Botkin

”Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?”
Maurice Strong,
Founder of the UN Environmental Program

”A massive campaign must be launched to de-develop the United States. De-Development means bringing our economic system into line with the realities of ecology and the world resource situation.”
Paul Ehrlich,
Professor of Population Studies,
Author: “Population Bomb”, “Ecoscience”

If I were reincarnated I would wish to return to earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels.”
Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh,
husband of Queen Elizabeth II,
Patron of the Patron of the World Wildlife Foundation

”The only hope for the world is to make sure there is not another United States. We can’t let other countries have the same number of cars, the amount of industrialization we have in the US. We have to stop these third World countries right where they are.”
Michael Oppenheimer
Environmental Defense Fund

”Global Sustainability requires the deliberate quest of poverty, reduced resource consumption and set levels of mortality control.”
Professor Maurice King

”Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class – involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, air-conditioning, and suburban housing – are not sustainable.”
Maurice Strong,
Rio Earth Summit

”Complex technology of any sort is an assault on the human dignity. It would be little short of disastrous for us to discover a source of clean, cheap, abundant energy, because of what we might do with it.”
Amory Lovins,

”I suspect that eradicating small pox was wrong. it played an important part in balancing ecosystems.”

Notice how the global warming cabal have linked the climate crisis AND the Covid-19 flu? How child prodigies like Greta and academics in non-technical fields have spouted drivel like “to tackle Covid-19 we also have to tackle climate change”? Remember this point!

We’ve demonstrated many times that alleged dangerous human-made global warming/climate change is not only false, it is fraudulent!
THE CATASTROPHIC ANTHROPOGENIC GLOBAL WARMING (CAGW) AND THE HUMANMADE CLIMATE CHANGE CRISES ARE PROVED FALSE

There is a similar high probability that the Covid-19 full-Gulag Lockdown is also a scam. We have experienced many flu epidemics that were more dangerous than Covid-19, with NO lockdowns. Why this flu? Why now? Read my post below for details on Covid-19.

Also, why are Antifa and BLM suddenly exploding onto the scene, trashing downtowns and terrorizing people, allegedly based on the police killing of career criminal George Floyd, who violently abused women? Much better people than Floyd die every day, and nobody cares.

HINT:
All these scams are related, concocted by the Marxist Dems, and have nothing to do with the climate, the mild Covid-19 flu or USA police violence. These are Democrat planned political events by paid demonstrators, intended to derail the investigations into the attempted coup-d’état of Trump via the Russia scam and the false FBI charges against Lt.-Gen. Flynn, and to steal the election so the treasonous acts of the Obama regime remain hidden.

It’s all a smokescreen to hide the criminal activity of the Dems – Try to focus on the big picture good people – It’s not all that complicated.

PLANDEMIC OR SCAMDEMIC?

IMPORTANT: Everyone should watch this video AND re-post it.
https://youtu.be/X6pzXrEBqR0

The full-Gulag lockdown was completely unnecessary and that was obvious by early-mid-March. I wrote then:

LET’S CONSIDER AN ALTERNATIVE APPROACH, SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION OF THE ABOVE CONCLUSIONS:
Isolate people over sixty-five and those with poor immune systems and return to business-as-usual for people under sixty-five.
This will allow “herd immunity” to develop much sooner and older people will thus be more protected AND THE ECONOMY WON’T CRASH.

This full-lockdown scenario is especially hurting service sector businesses and their minimum-wage employees – young people are telling me they are “financially under the bus”. The young are being destroyed to protect us over-65’s. A far better solution is to get them back to work and let us oldies keep our distance, and get “herd immunity” established ASAP – in months not years. Then we will all be safe again.

Why did New York have so many deaths from Covid-19? Because New York Governor Cuomo ordered state nursing homes to take in 4,500 patients with Covid-19, the Associated Press reported. These patients infected other nursing home residents, resulting in many more deaths. Cuomo issued the order to nursing homes and other assisted living centers on March 25, 2020 according to AP. He did not reverse that policy until May 11.

Now Democratic Governors are delaying the lifting of the lockdown, to further harm the economy in hopes of defeating Trump in November.

The violent riots over the unfortunate death of career criminal George Floyd were the next act in this saga. Floyd was not a great role model – he had a long criminal record, which included holding a pregnant woman hostage by pointing a shotgun at her belly, but he was all they had – so a false narrative was constructed of what a great guy he was and how all blacks were faced with such horrific police brutality.

Unfortunately, the data did not support that false narrative – in 2019, 1004 individuals were shot and killed by USA police, but only 56 of them were unarmed, and only 15 of those were black (A whole 1.5%!).
washingtonpost.com/graphics/2019/national/police-shootings-2019/

It will soon become clear that Antifa are the paid and programmed violent shock troops of the Marxist Democratic Party, and this entire charade was choreographed by the Dems to try to steal the Fall 2020 election.

Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke. Steven Pinker points out that things have gotten better for the world’s population.

Pinker argues that economic inequality “is not itself a dimension of human wellbeing” and cites a study that finds inequality is not linked to unhappiness, at least in poorer societies. He also points out that the world as a whole is becoming more equal, and states that even within increasingly unequal areas, the poor are still getting wealth and benefit from technological innovations. For example, it is clear to Pinker that an innovation that makes the poor slightly richer and the rich massively richer is a positive rather than a negative achievement. In contrast, critics hold that enhancing social mobility and combating “inequality as a result of unfairness” are important legitimate ends in and of themselves, beyond any effects of reducing poverty. Enlightenment Now

There is misery in America, felt by supposedly privileged white folks. Both the Republicans and Democrats threw them under the bus and exported their jobs to China. They are the forgotten people but it’s OK if they suffer because they are privileged white people. They are the one group whose health outcomes have gotten worse. link

If the ideologues in the Democrat party get their way, there will be a reset in America, just not the way they want it. President Trump was a mild rebuke to them. The next rebuke will be worse. (I hope I’m wrong and I want no part of it and will be hiding in a log cabin somewhere far from the action.)

In the name of fairness and equality, the elites think white Americans should be screwed over even worse. We’ll see how that works out.

Lydo, “trickle down” has never been debunked.
It has only been falsely restated as a “strawman” in order to knock it down in the eyes of the gullible.

“Trickle down” does NOT mean “give a rich person more and hope he is generous in sharing it.” (That is typical of the misunderstanding on campus.)

It means if funds are freed up (from less taxation or regulation) the economy will grow and when the economy grows even the poorest benefit. The proof of that is (pre pandemic) DJT lowered taxes (on everyone, BTW) and cut regulation and the economy jumped and employment and wages of the poorest were at the highest in history.

Please spare us the retort that those universal gains weren’t distributed fairly.
(The corollary would be that it is OK if everyone were made equally poor.)

George, this is how wealth and power have been re-distributed over the last 50 odd years. It shows the poorest half of the population (and many more) have not seen a fair share of the increasing weath of the nation and they have no reason to think the trend will change in their favour. Not only is that transparently unfair but it is socially and politically unsustainable.
Many millions of people in that bracket and the brackets immediately above are not lazy bums who only have themselves to blame, but hard-working people on poverty level wages with no security, no savings and no insurance, trying to raise a family and to get a little ahead. Thay are being right-royally screwed by a rigged system and they know it, as they watch the hyper-wealthy pull away. Every solution that might shift a tiny bit of wealth and power towards them is brutally opposed and branded as socialism by the wealthy elite and their media thugs. That is very fertile ground for facism, division and strife. What is your solution?

Or maybe if he’d had a free college education he might have funneled his talents into something a little more constructive.

Free college education for what, gender or environmental studies with a minor in basket weaving that’ll net you $45K/year to start? Maybe?

I was hooked on this television show called, Drugs Inc., for a while. Check it out. In it, a film crew went around to various cities in the United States (and overseas) and documented the daily routines of various types of drug dealers who had various size organizations. The dealers were very forthcoming, i.e., a great deal of their philosophy of business, the moral “justification” behind why they did what they did, and their business operations were freely discussed with and documented by the film crew.

What I noticed immediately was that these men and women weren’t stupid at all. Their rationalizations for their behavior, while I disagreed with them, were nonetheless logically valid (I didn’t say “sound”).

In fact, in terms of economic theory, they could conduct seminars. They ran circles around Keynesians and other such moronic inventions of stupid as these. These were natural market capitalists and they were good at it. Of course they didn’t know anything about J. Maynard, rather, they were just doing what makes sense (which ISN’T J. Maynard) to make money. And lots of it. All the while serving their customers. Their customers’ satisfaction was always their primary goal. Gee, ya think?

These people would often pull in $10K cash or better in a single night, and that’s AFTER buying their product, paying their “employees,” etc. That’s AFTER overhead. They were smart. They were organized. They knew their competition and competed directly with them. They knew the street. They had “employees” on the street. Yeah, they were already “captains of industry.”

But they were criminals. It was the life they CHOSE, not the life they were forced into doing. They understood exactly what they were doing, why they were doing it, what the consequences might be (e.g., jail or death) and they weren’t interested in taking $100K they could make in 10 days and investing in a college education NOW. WTH for???

Why do you think they’re going to want to do it THEN, when it’s practically free for them NOW and they’d have to take a pretty heft pay cut when their done with their BS (pun intended) in Gender-Fluid Environmental Studies with Minor in Basket Weaving?

Again, these people aren’t stupid morons. Instead, they’re rather brilliant but immoral, unethical and sometimes murderous criminals who chuckle (and I’m being kind) at the likes of progressives who believe them just wounded products of their environment, or misunderstood, whatever the latest nonsense anti-intellectual progressive psychoanalytic claptrap might be.

Loydo:

Have you read any evidence that suggests “people from unpromising backgrounds” might benefit from such a policy?

What about common sense?

What if you and I took a walk down Reason Way together to discuss the basic economics of doing business. For our walk, we agree to drop any assumptions we two have regarding the practice except for one: the profit motive. We both agree the profit motive is intrinsic in “doing” business. Surely we can agree there can’t we?

If so, then couldn’t we also agree that smart business managers looking to maximize profits year over year do some common sense practices to try to ensure that. One of them, the most important of all, is cost estimation. We’ve got to price our product or service to our customers over and above what we expend to produce it in order that our business can survive. That only makes sense.

If that’s true then one of the costs of doing business is taxation from the state. E.g., in Texas where I have a small business I’m required to charge sales tax on the products and services I provide to my customers.

If my customer spends $100 on a taxable product or service, then I’m required to add an additional 8.25% more to that $100 in sales tax. That $8.25 is sent off to the state so the state can conduct it’s business. I keep the $100. Businesses commonly break that charge out on customer’s receipts, so the customer will see a $100 charge plus an additional $8.25 listed separately as “TX Sales Tax” or something similar. Keep this in mind too. I don’t, but large companies doing millions of transactions have to pay somebody (or maybe an entire department of employees) to keep up with that. There’s just more cost of doing business because of taxes. We’ll see why that’s important.

You’re going to pay me $108.25 on that $100 product or service you purchased from me. In other words, I pass the cost of what the state charges ME to do business with YOU right back onto YOU. Now I’m sure we’ll agree that’s fair. And even if we don’t agree, that’s just the way it’s going to be. YOU are going to pay the tax one way or the other.

That’s because YOU as my customer are going to pay MY costs of doing business, whether it’s power, water/sewer, cell, internet, rent, my tools, my fuel, my company automobile, my airplane (I don’t have one), or whatever other costs are required to do business, YOU my poor, welfare laden customer are going to pay for that. How?

It’s going to be built directly into the PRICE you pay for the exceptionally valuable product or service I provide to you. The one you can barely afford to buy because you aren’t making $15 / hour, but the one you CERTAINLY couldn’t afford to buy if I had to pay my employees $15 / hour to answer phones and clean the toilet. In fact, if that came about, I’m firing out of necessity the lowest common denominator(s) that I was *trying* to help get started in life with their first job. I’m going back to cleaning the toilet myself. So there’s that. The tender mercies of the progressive are often shortsightedly cruel.

We’ve already seen how the state of Texas charges a tax against all of my sales to you my customer. I pass that cost onto you. It’s broken down in your receipt. You can see it. What do you suppose I’m going to do with the estimated cost of Federal Income tax the IRS in Washington charges me each year?

Does it not make ever reasonable sense that I’m going to estimate what my yearly income from sales are going to be, and then subtract my estimated costs of doing business during that year in order to attempt, as well as I’m able, to determine what my income tax liability as part of the cost of doing business is going to be for that given year?

If you agree that I will, and you should because I would, what do you suppose I’m going to do with that estimated tax liability on my income? Does it make sense to you that I would just eat that cost, or does it rather seem more logical that I’m going to ADD that cost into the prices of my products and services, whether you think that’s “fair” or not? If it’s the latter that makes sense to you, and it should be because that’s exactly what’s going to happen, what do you suppose is ALSO going to happen to the cost of my products and services if you lower that tax on my profits? Especially once that greedy profiteer Loydo Computing, Inc. down the street starts undercutting my prices in order to steal sales because he can now that his costs of doing business in the form of tax liability has just been lowered by 28%?

In summary, do you believe that I’M going to pay ANY tax imposed by ANY government entity, even if I write the check?

Au contraire, sir.

Now think about pricing in a macro sense with those assumptions in mind. Meaning over all the taxed businesses that first do business with other taxed businesses in order to bring you the 30X previously taxed products and services you use and pay the final tax on every day, e.g., food, power, water, garbage pickup, clothing, fuel, etc.

Can you get a sense of how much money the poor pay just in corporate business taxes alone in the United States every year? It’s some portion of the below:

Once again, Loydo demonstrates that it has never spent any time in the real world.
First off trickle down was always a lie that the left used to try and discredit a tactic that has worked every singe time it has been applied. Even St. John the Kennedy used it very successfully.

As a second point, lowering someone’s taxes is not “giving them money”, no matter how much the left wants to believe that everything belongs to the government.
The fact that people work harder and invest more when their taxes are lowered has been tested hundreds of times over the last 60 years or so in countries all over the planet. It works.

As to lowering the taxes paid by the poor, the bottom 50% of wage earners pay less than 0.1% of income taxes already. Can’t get much lower than that.

Increasing the minimum wage has never helped the poor. That’s easy to prove. When you drive someone’s wage above what their labor is worth, the only thing that happens is they get fired. This isn’t a theory, it’s been shown to happen time and time again.

Similarly, the opportunity for failure is necessary.

What I think the left ignores is that, in properly operating capitalism, those at the top stay there for only a while. That works both for companies and individuals. For instance, a company is unlikely to survive the grandchildren of the founder.

The opportunity for failure promotes efficiency and prevents stagnation. It’s called creative destruction.

Frankly, that’s why I’m disappointed in the House Dem losses and likely failure to take the Senate. I would rather they push their agenda as far and as fast as they can. That would cause too much pain to the average person, even the media might not be able to cover for them. As it is, we continue the slow boil.

If the Democrats succeed in moving enough people to Georgia to steal the two senate seats up for grabs in the run-off, then they will manage to take control of the Senate.

I can’t help but wonder if Dominion election software was used in Trudeaus election wins in 2015 and 2019. It certainly would explain a few lingering questions about both of those election results.

Do the federal Coservatives have the nerve to look into past election fraud?

” can’t help but wonder if Dominion election software was used in Trudeaus election wins in 2015 and 2019. It certainly would explain a few lingering questions about both of those election results.”

Trump’s lawyer, Sidney Powell, said the software had been used to steal elections in other countries in the past, using Venezuela and Argentina as examples, and she insinuated that if you know the right people (and presumably pay them enough) then you can buy a specific election result in a specific place.

I’m hearing something may be filed in court this week on this subject.

If anyone seriously believes that socialists form nice, well-meaning governments, a trip to Honecker’s East Germany or Fidel’s Cuba (I’ve also been there) would have quickly dissuaded you of this delusion.

Hitler, Stalin and Mao killed about 200 million people in the 20th Century, mostly their own citizens. Do we really have to do this all again?

Thank you Renaud. Much appreciated.

I feel a duty to fight this huge extremist fraud – given my family history, it’s the least I can do.

My grandmother’s youngest brother, Lt. Thomas Rodgers Sample was born January 19th, 1896 at West Hawkesbury, Ontario, He enlisted at the outset of WW1 and was killed in action on September 29th, 1918 near Arras, France in the last weeks of that war. He is buried at Bucquoy Road Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. My dad, who was only five, told me that his mom, Thomas’s older sister and my grandmother, cried all night long when the hard news came.

My uncle Col. Donald Fraser MacRae won the Military Cross at Dieppe in 1942. He rescued the ten surviving men in his unit, of the 110 enlisted ranks and ten officers who hit Red Beach. As I recall, that medal resides at the high school in the old home town in Glengarry County, the oldest county in Ontario. Famous Western explorers David Thompson, Alexander Mackenzie and Simon Fraser all lived in Glengarry.

My dad ran half the largest explosives plant in the British Empire during WW2 – he was 26 years old at the outbreak, and supervised 3000 men through the war – with no fatalities.

They were the Great Generation, born into the Great Influenza Epidemic of 1918-19, they survived the Great Depression, won the war, and built the prosperous society that we now enjoy. I owe them – we all owe them – to never submit to falsehoods, frauds and especially to the current extremist, leftist tyranny that has infected our society.

“you’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy”.
The only people that slogan would appeal to are those who already own nothing.
As history shows amply, that ‘ideal’ can only be achieved through coercion.
The slogan should be: ‘you’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy — or else’.

Those who would rather not work for a living, love a world in which everyone has the same amount of stuff, no matter how hard or how smart they work. Or even if they bother working at all.

There is nothing fairer than capitalism, each person is paid based on the value of the work they perform. Want more, then either work harder, or figure out how to make your labor more valuable.
Ultimately, your fate depends on you.

No private space, no feeling of safety or security. Enjoy being a fragile woman whose room can be entered every moment by burly men. I hope you love them going through your panties and other unmentionables when you’re not there!

“Once in awhile I get annoyed about the fact that I have no real privacy. No where I can go and not be registered. I know that, somewhere, everything I do, think and dream of is recorded. I just hope that nobody will use it against me.”

There is nothing totalitarian in a phrase “everything I do, think and dream of is recorded”. If you have any problems with that, the Municipal Trust and Safety Council will have problems with *you*.

“Welcome to the year 2030. Welcome to my city – or should I say, “our city”. I don’t own anything. I don’t own a car. I don’t own a house. I don’t own any appliances or any clothes.

It might seem odd to you, but it makes perfect sense for us in this city. Everything you considered a product, has now become a service.”

And how can the Municipal Trust and Safety Council punish you? Why, by denying you services. No food, clothes, water, medicine, entertainment for you. It need not be too harsh – it can be graded!

First infraction: no fancy food. Only bread and water.
Second infraction: no new clothes, no washing, no soap. You go dirty, wrong-thinker.
Third infraction: no food at all. Unproductive drones need to be culled. After all…

The minimum wage is what it has always been and always will be.
Everybody is paid based on the value of their labor.
If companies pay too little, then employees are free to find another company that will pay them what they are worth.
If companies are forced to pay too much, then they will find a way to do without your labor and you become unemployed.

The only people who have ever benefited from the minimum wage laws, are the people who own companies that make it easier for companies to do without low skill labor.

Alexy, “poor” is a relative term. No matter how much the general welfare of a country is increased, it is a truism that SOMEONE will always be at the bottom. (By example, the “poor” in the US are a lot better off than the poor in India or Venezuela.)

“Minimum wage” in the mind of a Socialist is what is necessary to bring the lowest at least closer to the “normal” of that community. Thus as the average wealth increases, by definition the “minimum” has to go up also.

At some point you are paying someone more than the value of their effort. If it is a private employer it is an unfair burden on he or she through their business. The alternative is employment by the government which is creates and ever growing drain on the country’s economy.

Government should not be dictating wage levels in the private market.

Bernie, Traitor Joe, and these othr socialists work on the theory that every job should pay enough to support a family of four, a so-called “living wage”. They just made that up. There’s no law of society that requires such a thing.

Low-wage jobs are entry level jobs. They are not meant to support a family, they are meant to provide a place where a young person can learn the business ropes and start climbing the ladder of success.

If you require every employer to raise their wage levels, then one of the things the employers will do is cut back on the number of employees they have which will deprive young people of an entry level job.

Bernie, and Traitor Joe, and the other socialists want to raise the minimum wage to $15 dollars an hour. Why don’t they just make it $150 dollars an hour. That would really improve people’s lives! When you figure out why they are not proposing a $150 per hour raise, then you will understand why a $15 dollar an hour raise is also a bad idea.

Let the market decide the wage level. More valuable employees get higher wages because they add value to the employer. No government bureaucrats can fine-tune this kind of thing. All they can do is screw things up royally.

Dictating wages is one of the stupider things politicians can do, and it is also one of their favorite things to do, because in doing so they think they are showing to the voting public how caring and virtuous they are. Using other people’s money.

Sociealists are always wanting to meddle in everything. And when have they made anything better with their meddling?

Marxism made simple! For examples, consider current political cesspools Zimbabwe and Venezuela – and there are almost 100 similar failing leftist states.

The fearless leaders are Groucho Marxists – they want power for its own sake at any cost, and typically are sociopaths or psychopaths. The great killers of the 20th Century, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, etc. were of this odious ilk – first they get power, then they implement their crazy schemes that do not work and too often kill everyone who opposes them.

The followers are Harpo Marxists – the “sheeple” – these are people of less-than-average intelligence who are easily duped and follow the Groucho’s until it is too late, their rights are lost and their society destroyed. They are attracted to simplistic concepts that “feel good” but rarely “do good”, and politicians’ promises of “lots of free stuff”.

One can easily identify crypto-Marxists – they are Democrats, Liberals, Greens, Socialists, Labourites, and today’s self-styled “Progressives”.

Almost 100 countries are now descending into the Marxist cesspool. Apparently, the untimely deaths of over 200 million innocents in the 20th Century were not enough. Do we really have to do this all again?

The great American statistician and philosopher George Carlin explained the appeal of leftist politics as follows:

Carlin said: “Think of how stupid the average person is; and then realize half of them are stupider than that!”

Mao, the egalitarian killer of ~80 million Chinese, had 25 of them, the most expensive cars of their time.
Someone has to be really stupid to want to relive the socialist disasters of the 20th Century, where fearless leaders like Stalin, Hitler and Mao killed about 200 million souls, mostly their own people.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY.

The Marxist “economic” model is like Venezuela and Zimbabwe – a murderous absolute monarch sitting atop a cesspool of poverty and oppression. That is the TRUE Marxist model, stripped of all the fancy rhetoric.
The death tolls attributable to these “fearless leaders” of the left are approximately:
Adolf Hitler – WW2 on all sides: ~50 million killed
Josef Stalin – Russians in internal purges: ~50 million killed
Mao Tse Tung – Chinese in internal purges during the “Great Leap Backwards”: ~80 million killed
Pol Pot – Cambodians in internal purges: ~3 million killed.

Fanatical ideologues are truly dangerous people – given enough power, they usually act the same way.

Mao owned 25 Mercedes 600’s [the most expensive car built in the 1970’s and 1980’s] – so much for Socialism. Many other vicious leftist dictators have also owned them – including Pol-Pot, Tito, Kim Il Sung, Idi Amin, etc., etc.

“…reassert the authority of governments over capitalism”

There is no free market if governments control capitalism. Instead, you end up with only crony capitalism, or even worse, the 5-year plans of the old Soviet Union. These idiots assume (or want you to believe) that those who wield government power will all be angels seeking only the good of the people. They never dream that those in authority would ever use their power to benefit themselves or their friends.

“… That will require stronger and more effective governments, though this does not imply an ideological push for bigger ones.”

What a lie! A stronger government will result in a bigger one. Those in power always want to grow their kingdoms and preserve their power. The redistribution of wealth and property requires a police state that is stronger than the private armies of the rich and powerful. That will always require a big government as well as a strong one. Besides, you can’t enforce unpopular mandates like social distancing or zero carbon lifestyles without a large police state that has eyes on everyone. These social engineers know all that. But they also know that if they can get people to believe their lies long enough for them to get their foot in the door, it won’t matter anymore.

So we still need to trade and will resort to barter when all trust fails.

Back in the 80’s, when income brackets were insanely high, I remember reading about job exchanges.
Individuals would sign up and list what their job skills were. I don’t remember exactly how they worked, but individuals would do work for others and earn credits, then they could use those credits to hire other members of the exchange to work for them.

The whole point was that since there was no cash been transferred, there was no taxable activity.

To put it simply, the the plumber would have an accountant do his taxes, and in exchange he would fix the accountants water heater. This was not as efficient as just hiring someone directly when you needed some work done, but because of the insane tax rates at the time, it made economic sense.

Despite all its declared good intentions, the Great Reset will have only one main consequence :
– intensification, generalisation of crony capitalism and corruption, as socialism does everywhere when applied.

This has never benefited the general population.

It is appalling to note that the fundamentals of economics, its history, are systematically forgotten or put aside (and replaced by lunacy masqueraded as a pathway to “global happyness”) and that the same mistakes are repeated over and over again.

Steven Cushman

Why is it that BAD economic theories are ideas of Germans? Communism is the product of two Germans, Carl Marx & Friedrich Engles. The problem with these type of deep economic thinkers is they know nothing about human nature. Which is stupid since there was evidence from the 1620’s English Plymouth colony experience. The Mayflower compact setup a commune. And the original members almost died out because they couldn’t produce or gather enough food to survive. If it hadn’t been for the good relations with the native population they would have disappeared like the Roanoke colony. After the 1st year when Robert Cushman sailed to Plymouth Colony with his son Robert in the fall of 1621 the compact was changed from a commune to a capitalist system and the rest is history.

The Great Reset is a Leftist tyrannical movement designed to immorally and utterly destroy: free enterprise, private property rights, man’s free will, all natural human rights (speech, press, religion, assembly, petition, due process, privacy, freedom from government tyranny, personal thoughts & beliefs, personal/family protection, etc.,) and to empower the state to control every aspect of people’s lives and all the land, labor, capital and resources of an economy through the initiation of force, coercion, and enforced by the barrel of gun and through massive taxes, rules, regulations and mandates…

Tyrannical governments have been tried countless times and they never work, and always lead to extreme poverty, massive government debt, oppression, decreased living standards, and the loss of millions of people..

The purpose of government is simply to protect and defend the natural rights of its citizens, not to destroy them..

Leftists never learn the lessons of history, so they are doomed to repeat them..

What’s even more insane is how they believe society will work.

They believe that the house will be built because a group of carpenters had nothing better to do than build a house that day, so they did. Where did the lumber come from? Well these guys found a saw mill and decide that it would be fun to cut a bunch of trees into lumber, which they just left there in the mill because they had no use for it.

Where did the paint come from, another group of guys mixed some up, just because they felt like making paint that day.

I’ve debated these anarcho-socialists before. They are this delusional.

And how do they prevent someone from just grabbing some property and declaring it their own?
Well that’s going to be handled by a committee that has the authority to punish anyone who fails to live up to their social obligations.

You give them too much credit. They never think that far ahead. Food comes from the supermarket in their minds, they don’t give a thought as to what has to happen to get that food there in the first place. They certainly don’t give any thought to what effects the policies they champion will have on that process. Even when they end up waiting in the bread lines, they won’t be able to connect the dots from their policies to the bread lines. Instead they’ll blame it on their favorite boogeymen (“greedy rich people”, “old white men”, etc.)

As can be seen in California, where they have had single-party rule for quite some time, yet still can’t see that those policies are what’s causing their pain.

As can be seen with the protests over “systemic racism” in the deep blue cities that have been ruled by Democrats for decades. The Democrats run and are the very system that they’re complaining about yet they keep voting them back into office to continue to run and be that system.

I remember one young communist that I debated declared that the best way to get the rich to work harder was to increase their taxes.
In his mind, if you take more away from the rich, they will just work harder in order to keep the same after tax income and that this extra work would benefit everybody.

Heh. Well he was right about one thing. The rich *would* “work harder” – at avoiding the taxman, but that’s not work that’s beneficial to everybody and won’t help tax revenues any, It’ll just move money that otherwise would have been employed in taxable endeavors into untaxable areas.

A news item just in time for this blog post…

Speaking during the G20 summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping promoted the idea of introducing globally-recognized health QR codes, saying it would help to restore coronavirus-hit international trade and travel.

“While containing the virus, we need to restore the secure and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains,” China’s leader told the virtual G20 summit late on Saturday, while advocating the need to “reduce tariffs and barriers” and “liberalize” the trade of crucial medical supplies.

An attempt to introduce a “global” QR code-based system, supposedly designed to restore global travel, has already been made by the World Economic Forum (WEF). The group has actively promoted the ‘CovidPass’ application, advertised as a highly-secure “health passport.”

The biggest glacier in Greenland, Jacobshavn, in 2016 reversed from shrinking to growing. Dramatically. This was covered until 2019.

But in 2020 there is silence on the current status of the glacier.

Does anyone know the current status of Jacobshavn? Is it still growing? Ocean based trends are typically slow so rapid back and forth is unlikely.

The stony media silence that has fallen over Jacobshavn is curious. Anyone have any updates in the last few months of 2020?

Socialism fails every time, and every place, from USSR 1919 to Venezuela 2019.
When the state owns the means of production directly, there is no price signal to match supply to demand.
When the weldare state “redistributes” too much of the GDP, likewise there is too little signal and the economy fails. Either way it ends in disaster
UK and Scandinavia learned the latter lesson, to their great cost. and had to pull back.
America, bulwark of freedom int eh world, must not take that same risk.
Stop them, whatever it takes.

The Swedish Politburo is currently in fight with Professor Dr. Anders Tegnell to come on the Great Reset bandwagon.

Firstly Sweden is currently doing good. The mortality rate is normal (a little below normal) and has been below excess mortality since June 2020.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/sweden/

So Anders Tegnell has been correct all along, as would be expected by a top medical doctor.

However, politicians look at case number and their obligation to support the Great Reset, as they so bravely have done with their “brave” support of Climate Change Policy in the past decades.

Not not only: Where are the sick people, also who are the sick people.

The Glorious Revolution of William of Orange in 1688 is, IMO, the model for this Great Reset.

The Massachusetts Bay Colony Charter was revoked. the Pine Tree Shilling

was revoked. The Colonies were to have nothing and be happy.

It sure looks like the US is to be reset, yet again.

It s lawful that Prince Charles of Reset (unreliably informed not far from Somerset) is key speaker. I wonder if William has dreams?

As Solzhenitsyn says in his foreword to Igor Shafarevich’s “The Socialist Phenomenon”:

“Indeed, no precise, distinct socialism even exists; instead there is only a vague, rosy notion of something noble and good, of equality, communal ownership, and justice: the advent of these things will bring instant euphoria and a social order beyond reproach”

….this is the rosy notion that’s still swirling around in the heads of most of our Western leaders. An infectious idea that still exists even after millions die under it’s malicious regime. It seems no vaccine has been found.

I’m reminded of the Silverstein poem, “The Land of Happy”. I won’t post it as I believe it is still under copyright.

The last line of the poem is the best…”what a bore!”.

Quite.

You see when these stupid notions of Utopia rise up in the wake of a crisis as they always do, this little poem should be toted out and shoved in those idiots faces. There is no Utopia, because we are individuals, it’s that simple. No 2 people on this Earth think the exact same way, even twins that share the same DNA do not think the exact same way. So therefore this hive mentality idea is moot. There is no “if only” world where all that “could be based upon an idea is”. Why? Because nobody buys the idea completely. It’s naïve, childish, and quite frankly unrealistic to force people to cooperate over an utopian idea. Because one man’s utopia is another man’s hell. Where there is forced cooperation there is strife. We know this, we are smart enough to write down our own history so that future generations can learn. All this proves is that whoever is touting this Great Reset has not bothered to read. I would suggest they start with The Land of Happy and then pick up The Hunger Games for a bit more extensive reading into the subject of “Utopian” societies where everyone does their part for the “greater good” i.e. whoever is in control. And once that perspective is rooted in a fiction story, read our own history and see where the references played out in real life. Because I can guarantee you, the realists already have and understand.

These notions of Utopia have deep roots. Thomas More, in the Tudor 16th century, wrote about a fictional Utopia which reads like a North Korean handbook.

There is no private property on Utopia. (Utopia’s an island).
The houses are rotated between the citizens every ten years.
All able-bodied citizens must work; thus unemployment is eradicated.
Slavery is a feature of Utopian life and it is reported that every household has two slaves.
The slaves are either from other countries (prisoners of war, people condemned to die, or poor people) or are the Utopian criminals.
A welfare state with free hospitals.
Euthanasia permissible by the state.
Privacy is not regarded as freedom in Utopia; taverns, ale-houses and places for private gatherings are non-existent for the effect of keeping all men in full view, so that they are obliged to behave well.
Gambling, hunting, makeup and astrology are all discouraged in Utopia.

…….. and of course no Utopia is complete without – women confess their sins to their husbands once a month.

My father in law escaped from Hungary in 56. Came here to the US for freedom. Communism/Socialism has never worked. But you can’t ask those who have died from it. Only those that have escaped or survived it. It only serves those in power at the top. Climate change/Covid-19 is a means to that end. Let’s ban ICE cars in UK, California for 2030. Push the Great Green New Deal. Lets destroy the economies of the world that rival China. The pipe dreams of Wind and Solar. Look at the UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, California. Shutting down Nuclear, Coal, Gas as power generation. Keeping the Third World from pulling themselves to a better life. Telling us we have to live with intermittent power for our society. Loydo and Griff would not know if at all, that’s it is too late. Let’s destroy the world as we know it. Mass starvation without the means to grow food. No power to stay warm in winter (UK is already there). They have started already. I say to save the world let them be the first to go! We will not morn them. Destroy their life as they would destroy ours.

Freedom is what the socialists and communists don’t like about Free Enterprise.

How about: the Great Reset is government opacity because it posits a technocracy of intertwined algorithms not answerable to the people, existing for the purpose of keeping us safe and efficient and in compliance with needed reforms to build a just world and save the planet (and, BTW, ensure that a technocracy/corporatocracy maintains power and control. No more threatening yellow vest protests, although BLM protests actually play right into the Great Reset mentality.) Meanwhile, the Great Reset is individual transparency, because everything about you will be tied to your digital immunity certificate (got to keep us all safe!) and (automated?) compliance with our beautiful reset will be deemed necessary by all right-thinking technocrats and those who march to the mainstream media.

Please, no one bother to ask what our ultimate “greater good” is (it can’t possibly be individual freedom, can it?) The algorithms, programmed by only the wisest minds (you listening, Klaus?) will decide for us.

Government opacity, individual transparency. What could possibly go wrong?

The other labels– capitalism, socialism, communism, Nazism, etc.– maybe don’t matter. Think government opacity, individual transparency. We’re getting a taste of how this opacity might look in the government’s response to Covid-19, which is a mass of confusion, misinformation, and misleading directives.

Everybody on board? I suppose if they give us free alcohol we’ll be fine.

“…but anxiety about the world’s social and economic prospects is only intensifying.” Because they are creating the anxiety.

“There is good reason to worry: a sharp economic downturn has already begun…” Because they created it and forced it.

“…and we could be facing the worst depression since the 1930s.” It will only happen if you continue to force it.

” But, while this outcome is likely, it is not unavoidable.” And as usual, they create the problem then provide the solution to the problem they just created. Perfectly typical isn’t it?

Actually it sounds like the hunger games. And those in power, along with the mega rich celebrities and athletes, will be with the “Party” in the cities while the rest are banished to the districts. None of these politicians think their lives will change at all and they’ll make it better for everyone else. It’s their reward for “fixing things”. They believe all of that.

In Canada I believe we’ve past the point where there’s more than 50% of the population with their hands out now and so they (foolishly) believe this is a good idea. After all, the rich will work, they won’t. The rich will be mandated to give them their earnings and belongings and they’ll be better off. Few of them recognize that the rich will either move, if there’s somewhere to move to, or will see the futility far, far faster than the handout people will give them credit for. So work will cease. These same handout people don’t have an ounce of understanding that the government doesn’t have ANY money of its own. They think the government makes and prints money.

One of the real dangers we face is that so many work for the government instead of in the private sector now. Even though many of those receive a salary of more than $100k per year they are not productive jobs. When those dependent on gov jobs exceeds those in the private sector we reach a real tipping point (not be confused with the fake tipping points imagined by climate alarmists). These people will not allow policies against their self interests.

More than 50% of the people did not choose this. It is is being forced on them via subterfuge and deception.

Canadian iconoclast Rex Murphy. opportunity? opportunism!

But how could COVID-19, a medical calamity, provide a rationale for a total economic makeover? When someone breaks an arm, who responds by saying, “It’s time to repair the roof”? Does someone with a headache see it as an opportunity to mow the lawn? I think not.

Nevertheless, the raging pandemic, having wrecked the world’s economies, is being taken as a cue by various eminent globalists to pursue a totally unrelated agenda. Rather than being described as an opportunity, this should be seen as opportunism, pure and simple.

A combination of United Nations satraps, tech billionaires and, naturally, the apocalyptic environmental contingent have decided that this time of anxiety and disruption is the perfect moment to push their agenda.

To be sure, the push is not coming from the people bearing most of the costs of the COVID shutdowns. Tellingly, it is coming from a group of people whose wealth and power have exempted them from its stresses — people who are far removed from the day-to-day experience of the masses. Among them, it appears, is our own prime minister, as evidenced by some much-quoted statements he gave in a speech to the UN.
