But I think it is inevitable, since they have no evidence on which to base their claims, and it doesn’t look like there is going to be any evidence that vindicates them. I guess that is one up from blaming some religious deity like they did back in the dark ages, so what shall we say the LA times is slightly more enlightened than the dark ages.
In the case of the Black Death, its first appearance (in Europe) coincided with the start of falling temperatures from the Medieval Warm Period, leaving people vulnerable because of malnutrition, and the American Flu (to give it its proper name) followed a cold snap. So there was a Climate Change in both cases. Unfortunately, the climate changes continuously, so its makes it really really difficult to draw any conclusions.
You are either failing at humor or just plain stupid, hard to say which. The cause of both is well known and documented by science and doesn’t require made up junk.

I wonder how deeply INAFU4735 and SDEVU6240 go into the basic physics and chemistry of the atmosphere as distinct from statistical analysis of accepted data from Govt sources.
What would be interesting to see is tests from any of the “technical” coursed required for this degree. Basic level physics, math, chemistry and engineering courses usually appear impenetrable to those who haven’t learned a bit. I’d suspect these courses, if they have class tests, probably call for argument, regurgitation and speculation. Maybe my speculation is off here, but I’d be glad to be proved wrong.
The question of science course accreditation in “environmental science” is a very important area that should be explored. First it was watered down education courses, not all but too many and some have been trying to improve, then it was non-major science courses because it was too difficult for education majors (actual dean of education comment), and some science departments (how many?) went research crazy and started teaching mostly for MDs and PhDs, the former not so new, which gave non-major incentives to dumb down more.
Of course, other things were happening also, Environmental Science books became popular, check out Miller’s Living in the Environment where he admitted becoming indoctrinated (1966). After a seminar he said in his introduction “After 6 months of study I was convinced of the seriousness of the problem.” To his credit there is a lot of information in his book that could be used in a decent course and the 1960s did have lots of real pollution but there were available non-advocacy sources. But the theme is Part I “Humans and Nature:..1 Environmental Problems and their causes.” And of course “sustainability” as if it was a new discovery. Anyone working within “environmental science” needs a non-political background in biology, geology, physics and chemistry before this. Look at the (choose adjective?) expansion tree in university departments, courses, and degrees.
Along with this we had even better trained scientists longing for making policy and a plethora of pessimism. And political exploitation.
If they really knew what they were talking about they wouldn’t have used pictures of Polar Bears which are apparently doing very well at present.

So the COVID-19 problem in New York came from Europe because travellers from China were restricted by Trump but not those from Milan. New York’s problem had nothing to do with placing sick patients in old folks homes by order of the Governor. And the disease in Milan came from ?? but not the hundreds of Chinese that fly to and from the city daily because Milan is the center of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative for Europe.
I heard today about a new study put out by Columbia University that claims that Trump delayed shutting down travel from China for two weeks longer than he should have, which ended up costing 50,000 American lives.
Well, let’s review:
President Trump shut down travel from China on Jan. 31, 2020. Two weeks prior to that, when the study says Trump should have stopped China traffic, it was the WHO and China who announced on Jan. 14, 2020, that the Wuhan virus was not capable of being transmitted human to human. So Columbia seems to think that Trump should have stopped all traffic from China even though the authorities there were saying there was no infectious disease in China. What did Columbia know that noone else knew?

There have been so many pandemics and epidemics globally it is probably very easy to correlate a subset to anything you want.
If industrial farming and urbanization are a major source of pandemics then how many pandemics have come from Tokyo, London, New York, Mexico City or from the US or European farms? The US should be pumping out those viruses all year round?
