Obama Ties the Covid-19 Pandemic to Trump’s Rollback of His Climate Change Initiatives

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

Shameless attempt by former President Obama to score political points from the misery of ordinary Americans.

The article referenced by President Obama’s tweet was about President Trump rolling back Obama’s economy killing regulations – at a time when the economy needs all the help it can get.

Trump weakens fuel economy standards, rolling back key U.S. effort against climate change

By ANNA M. PHILLIPSRUSS MITCHELLMARCH 31, 20202:12 PMWASHINGTON —

The Trump administration on Tuesday weakened one of the nation’s most aggressive efforts to combat climate change, releasing new fuel efficiency standards for cars and trucks that handed a victory to the oil and gas industry.

The new rule, from the Environmental Protection Agency and Transportation Department, will almost immediately be plunged into litigation as environmental groups and states with stricter standards, led by California, plan to challenge it.

“We intend to make sure the backsliding doesn’t reach California’s doorstep,” California Atty. Gen. Xavier Becerra said Tuesday in announcing the state’s plan to go to court to defend its tougher standards.

If the administration’s policy survives those fights, it would spare automakers from having to meet ambitious gas mileage and emissions requirements put in place in 2012 under President Obama. It is among the biggest steps the administration has taken to reverse an existing environmental policy.

The final rule is a dialed-down version of the one the administration originally planned. Instead of proposing zero improvements in fuel efficiency in coming years, it would require automakers to increase fuel economy across their fleets by 1.5% a year, with a goal of achieving an average of about 40 miles per gallon by 2026. That’s still a major departure from current rules, which mandate annual increases of 5%, reaching an average of 54 mpg by 2025.

Karl Brauer, an analyst for the research firm Cox Automotive, said that Trump’s rule had put automakers in an impossible position. If they opposed the rollback, their investors would be unhappy. If they endorsed it, they would be branded as anti-environment.

Can you imagine what it would have been like if the Chinese Coronavirus had struck during the Obama Presidency? President Obama would probably have responded to the threat of Coronavirus with an executive order to increase wind turbine funding, like Nancy Pelosi tried to stick in her version of the Coronavirus bill.

What a shame that “HISTORY” does not exist any more, the word “HISTORY” has been replace by the word “IGNORANCE”
Traveling by train into London in 1962 I could not see the buildings on each side of the track for the smog ( coal fired and wood heating, coal fired locomotive ) arriving at Liverpool Station INSIDE visibility was + – 10 feet, . want to hear a good joke ? “HISTORY”.

Temperature fluctuations in the atmosphere destabilized the warp core leading degradation of the primary seals

Or, the doors were designed by Morton Thiokol and they added extra seals at each joint which caused the failure

Yes, Morton thiokol added an extra o ring seal to each joint. This was intended to provide a backup seal in case the first o ring was compromised, but it actually destabilized the joint.

The law of unintended consequences? Seems appropriate here with a former president arguing to further injure an already crippled economy for political reasons.

It’s also true that the joint assembled on site at Morton thiokol consistently had very little blow-by while the field assembled joints experienced a much higher rate, which made them partially blind to the problems in their own testing early on.

When they did see blow-by on numerous flights, the second o ring did seal which gave some people on all sides of the issue false confidence in the flawed design.

Actually NASA took to low bid, by a small amount. Aerojet’s solid boosters were to be one cast in a 150-foot deep shaft and then barged to Cape Canaveral. Motton Thiokol, did better PR and was trucking the segments around the country. Big screw-up…

It was probably a political decision to fly since the President (Reagan) was going to talk about the first civilian in space that night. It would have been nice to have one actually in space.
Instead he was forced to give a tribute to the lost crew.

I think he could have handled not having her in space that night, but safe and sound on terra firma.

I have kept a very open mind about the origin of this virus, and have been reading everything I can find about Horseshoe Bats, Wet Markets and Virus Labs. I’m sorry to say but my gut instinct (and reading) tells me this epidemic was planned … engineered … and launched. And if I had a shred of confidence left in the CIA, I’d say they knew about it and did nothing … perhaps even participated. I expect Brennan activated one of the cells he planted in … “The Company”. Brennan is a longtime admirer of Communism. Seems that Obama might have launched his ULTIMATE “new normal” on America, remotely, from his Hawaiian Estate … courtesy of his embeds.

I certainly believe that the virus came out of the lab and not the wet market. The Wuhan lab is the only level 4 lab in China. It does research on bat corona viruses and it’s only 300 yards from the wet market that they blamed. My coincidence meter just blew up in my hands! Additionally, Chinese researchers in N. America have been arrested for removing biological materials from labs here that are related to this very type of research. How gullible are we supposed to be?

When any disaster happens, various groups in power scramble to see what benefit they can derive from it. Frequently there is none – occasionally some group will do very well.

There then follow theories that the powerful group that benefited – or might have benefited – has planned the disaster for their own advantage. If they had indeed gained, the theory will sound quite believable.

I approach these theories by considering whether, if I were such a powerful group, I could credibly plan the disaster and ensure that it happened reliably with no blame attaching to me. And whether such a plan was indeed to most cost-effective way of spending the large sum of money and taking the considerable risk involved in planning and implementing the disaster.

In all cases so far I have come to the conclusion that all disasters I have examined are better explained by mixtures of happenstance, incompetence and coincidence. And that the business of setting up these disasters would have been exceptionally difficult, and that there would have been far easier ways of achieving the same benefit….

There is plenty of evidence that this virus was being studied and its contagion properties and inclination to discriminate against the old and unhealthy was well known. How it got out in the public is still in question. What is not in question is the actions of the CCP when doctors alerted the public about the potential pandemic properties of the unknown pathogen. What is also not in question is the rapid development of the genome of the virus by Chinese scientist. They wanted this to develop a vaccine, which they have been strangely silent about.
The CCP makes decisions based on what is good for the CCP. If they think it is good to lighten the load of near-dead wood, then there is going to be a fire. And if a few houses get burned down in the process, so be it:

How it got out, really doesn’t matter. They had it. It got out. And instead of locking down the area, and quarantining everyone exposed to it, they continued to lie about it, and muzzled those who tried to warn others. Many of those that tried to do the right thing are still missing. Whether it is criminal negligence or intentional murder doesn’t really matter when you are the government and are not going to prosecute yourself. But the truth will come out, because there are victims that deserve to know the truth about what happened, and everyone else needs to know how we keep this from happening again.

The Obama administration funded multiple Bullshit labs at various universities in the U.S. and around the world. It also loaded up federal institutions such as NASA and NOAA with that peculiar sort of political activist that believes their cause warrants complete disregard for impartial performance of their job. The result of this was the intentional release of a hybrid form of B.S. that infected an already weakened science with virus-like incentives to infect all forms of media and pump out mutated replications of it’s foul product. A vaccine is needed to intercept the B.S. virus and intentional government infection at the university level, where malignant “professor” particles give off toxic ideas to young people who haven’t yet formed a BS. immune system. The giving away of grant money to people who struggle to think rationally was aggravated by the administration’s limitations regarding economics, wherein their thinking was,”take from whoever has and give to whoever has not, and then collect the votes.” Impairment of productive capacity was not an issue they could comprehend.

There is plenty is evidence and witnesses that the labs were studying the exact virus strains that are carried by bats and are coronavirus strains that can “jump species barrier”. The type of bat that is most likely to have been the host for this virus is the intermediate horseshoe bat. That type of bat was not sold at the wet market since it is not found in the Wuhan area.
It was used in both the Wuhan Virology lab and the Wuhan Center for Disease control and Prevention lab that is within several hundred meters of the wet market.
Of course the bat-woman from the virology lab made a quick denial of any connection to the Wuhan Virus although she was concerned about it enough to rush to her lab and compare strains that they had on hand for research and the one that was killing people. It does show that they had access to similar viruses and were actively studying them both for contagious properties and health risks.

Warning: Another reckless charge with no evidence follows! Only “logical analysis” for those that dare tread that unstable surface! I am referencing the story in my previous post. If you have not read it, now is the time, if you dare have your skepticism meter tested.
If you understand the current pathological nature of Chinese society is is possible to understand the situation the Bat-Woman finds herself in. And it is not one of her own making, yet she is the linchpin of this unfolding story. And she indicates her turmoil in the initial paragraph, without invoking the wrath of those that would like to “tie up loose ends”.

“I wondered if [the municipal health authority] got it wrong,” she says. “I had never expected this kind of thing to happen in Wuhan, in central China.” Her studies had shown that the southern, subtropical areas of Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan have the greatest risk of coronaviruses jumping to humans from animals—particularly bats, a known reservoir for many viruses. If coronaviruses were the culprit, she remembers thinking, “could they have come from our lab?”

She is openly admitting that the odds of this happening by chance in Wuhan is near zero. She couches this in words that will escape the quarantine of censorship, by asking if it “could be” verses it was! She has studied these virus types as they are found in nature more than any other person. Not just by location and species, but genetically using the subjects antibody resistance. And her first thought was “this would NOT occur by chance in Wuhan”!!! Many other locations had a much higher risk profile. She goes on to express her relief in not finding this particular virus in the list of strains she has spent many years accumulating through scouring the bat caves of SE Asia. Any other statement would have killed the story and taken her life. If she is able to continue her work, it is because her value / risk ratio is still positive. And she has shown a willingness to play her cards well enough to stay in the game.

There’s no evidence this virus was engineered to be a bio weapon, true.

But we know Wuhan virologist were splicing together “chimeric” corona viruses because they published their research in Nature magazine a few years back, and noted that their experiments had resulted in “increased pathogenicity”.

So we KNOW similar viruses had been experimented with in Wuhan.

And we KNOW SARS viruses escaped containment from a Beijing lab on a couple of occasions. So we know the Chinese have a history of incompetence with regards to keeping viruses contained (but before we get too smug, remember Ft. Detrick has had accidental releases of their playthings, too)

It’s true we don’t know if SARS-COV-2 was engineered at Wuhan or whether it was deliberately or accidentally released.

My vote is for an engineered virus – developed for experimental purposes rather than as a bio weapon – was accidentally released.

Obamacare was a failure in the womb. It’s provisions meant that it would be unfundable under the next administration and therefore a political timebomb. That was deliberate. It wasn’t constructed to be viable. It was political. The issue with American health care is the lack of cost control. This seems to me to be somewhat a function of the HMO structure which has no real incentive to apply realistic cost limitation measures in hospital care.

According to recent media coverage, Morial, and even Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, has warned against “an abrupt move away from natural gas.”

Black individuals and black families, furthermore, are the ones hit hardest by high energy expenses, often foregoing food and medicine to pay the heating bill.
Nearly a third of U.S. households reported struggling to pay energy bills, according to an Energy Information Administration report. Half of those who reported difficulty affording their energy bill are black.

Well, the alarmists conflate a changing climate with human-caused climate change, but they always leave out the “human-caused” part, they assume that, and then if you are skeptical that humans are causing the climate to change, then you are called a denier of climate change, when they should really call you a denier of human-caused climate change.

“Climate Change” is a tool used by the alarmists to sow confusion.

It’s like NASA calling the International Space Station, “Space Station” all the time, as if there can only be one space station. It’s arrogance. It is assuming too much.

Climate alarmists think when the term climate change is used, it means human-caused climate change. They assume it is real, and want you to think it is real, and there is no need to add the “human-caused” part because that is obvious to alarmists, and they want you to look at it that way, too.

It’s psychological warefare.

Barack’s middle name is “Hypocrite”>

If his lips are moving, he’s lying.

We will probably get a good critique of his administration after Federal Attorneys get through with their investigation of the attempt by the Obama-Biden administration to undermine the 2016 presidential election, and undermine Trump after he was elected. I’m betting Obama won’t come out looking too good. He’ll look more like a traitor to the United States that a president of the United States.

This comment by Obama: “We’ve seen all too terribly the consequences of those who denied warnings of a pandemic.”, is aimed right at Trump. The Democrats, if you hadn’t noticed, are trying to push the narrative that Trump was somehow late in reacting to the Wuhan virus and has blood on his hands as a result. Expect to hear this theme from all the Democrats. This is their latest smear campaign against Trump. And Barack’s comment is part of the scheme.

Obama = Worst President Evah!!! Without a doubt. And then Trump came along and fixed most of the damage Obama did, and if he gets elected again, he will finish the job.

Good points “but” you did use the word resistor and if that retards the rate at which thermal energy can exit a system then the system will warm until a higher temperature equilibrium is reached. And the graph, where would H2O fall on that plot?

“retards the rate at which thermal energy can exit a system then the system will warm until a higher temperature equilibrium is reached.”

No it won’t, that’a just rhetoric.

Molecules do not move faster because they are moving slower elsewhere. What a retarded idea.

A resistor eats up voltage, and doesn’t cause higher voltage at incoming end.

GH effect is post-modern science, i.e. assertion IS fact.

Resistors don’t eat up voltage, the resist current.
By reducing the flow of current, resistors can easily cause higher voltages at the incoming end.

No mention of voltage increase at incoming end due to resistance.
No mention of current decreaae due to resistance.

Mention of voltage DROP due to resiatance.

As someone with a degree in electrical engineering, I guess I’ll have to school you. Assuming you have sufficient brain power to understand anything beyond first grade physics.

If you had actually read the article, you would have noticed that the voltage drop is due to the current through the resistor. You can calculate this by the equation I * R = V.
Since everything has resistance, not just the resistor you are measuring, less current means less voltage drop across every other component in the system. Ergo, reducing current means the voltage upstream of the resistor will rise.

Let’s just face it dear, you are no where near as smart as you think you are.

Hi retard,
If you actually read the article there is no decrease in current and raise in voltage. Things do not adjust to conserve resistance as you suggest happens. There is no physical principle of conservation of resistance. Resistors do not cause a reduction in current and a raise in incoming voltage. The math for resistors in series do not acknowledge less current after each subsequent resistor.

“Ergo, reducing current means the voltage upstream of the resistor will rise.”

No, imbecile, if you did reduce the current, the voltage DROP will be reduced across the resistor. This does not raise the voltage supplied on the incoming end.

“As someone with a degree in electrical engineering”

I highly doubt that. You’re either a liar or an idiot or you think the audience is.

You’re a garbage human being.

Ah yes, you can always tell when a 10 year old is losing an argument, they resort to insults.
If there is no reduction in current, then there is no resistance. Unless you are working with a constant current source. However the way a constant current source keeps the current constant in the face of increasing resistance is by raising the voltage.

Why don’t you just admit that you are making it up as you go and be done with it?

I thought everyone is on-board with saving the planet so it would be irrelevant if anyone changed the CAFE standards. What Obama is claiming is that the restrictions are unpopular, people don’t like being coerced into making purchases on government approved vehicles only. So he knows that his restrictions that he added as he was heading out the door was a F-U to Americans. Otherwise, what Trump did was an empty gesture, sort of like saying that it is OK to now burn tires in the backyard and the backlog of people eager to resume burning tires is large enough to help the economy.

Obama allowed 20,000 Americans to die of the Swine Flu (H1N1) before he did anything about it. The final death toll was twice that. But nobody panicked, because the media didn’t tell them to.

Eric,
I doubt that Obama would have lied and lied again about the virus as Trump has been doing. He spent
the first three months of the year downplaying the severity of the virus and blaming the media for using
it to damage his re-election chances.

e.g. “The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power (it used to be greater!) to inflame the CoronaVirus situation, far beyond what the facts would warrant.”
or
“No, not at all. We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”
or
“It’s going to disappear. One day — it’s like a miracle — it will disappear.”
or
“So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!”

Then all of a sudden he is now claiming that “victory” would mean between 100 000 and 250000 deaths. On top of claiming that NY medical staff are stealing medical supplies while risking their lives to save people.

But for that to be enough in November them, the Democrats better have a candidate who should not be in a memory care nursing home. As it is, old Senile Joe just won’t cut it. Joe Biden would be older on his 2021 inauguration day than President Reagan was on his last day in office in 1989. IOW, not gonna happen.

No, you fell for the usual MSM “lying with facts” technique.
Studies have shown “immigrants” are more law abiding than US born citizens.

“ILLEGAL” immigrants have a MUCH higher rate of criminal activity.
The most obvious statistic that confirms that is the demographics of the prison population, especially in border states. (And don’t try to tell us the police are “picking on” undocumented folk!)

Those commenting that there are no studies of significant numbers of illegal voting of any kind ignore the fact that the US voting process is CONFIDENTIAL. If you remove the requirement of voter ID, ignore the buses of “voters” that stream into polling places near state borders and discount the boasts of Dem politicians like the late Mayor Daley there is no way to determine who voted illegally or post mortem!

On top of that, tell me how in a system where no one is allowed within 10 feet of you in a voting booth it is perfectly OK for someone to go to nursing homes or very select communities and “harvest” votes, and then later deliver hundreds or thousands of votes to an election district!?! What study will tell you that those votes weren’t sorted before delivery or that the “harvester” didn’t influence the voting decision?

I have reached a stage in life where I can look at an issue and if I find no logic or rational explanation for it, it tells me there probably isn’t any.
This latest Sars Cov 2 outbreak is being treated as though it is so life threatening, we have to destroy life ourselves first, before the Covid 19 gets a chance to deal with you.
There is no logic, to what is happening in the world at the moment. It looks like people in authority have decided to take advice from the nutty professor, without any checks or balances.
Only in our current instantly connected world, could such a situation develop allowing herd instincts to take control of world governments.
Sweden are not falling into line with this destroy the economy herd inspired strategy. It will be interesting to watch the numbers unfold, we will compare those governments who chose to destroy their economy and see how they compare with Sweden, who chose to be more sensible.

Balking at these government restrictions has some problems.

If you go against the flow, it has little benefit overall since most everyone is already making restrictions. Second, it gives everyone else an easy excuse in the aftermath. (Sure the economy crumbled, but it was because those rural areas prolonged the outbreak, etc)

Trump seems to be doing about the best thing in the situation, which is to back “the experts”, while saying we need to remember not to make the cure worse than the disease.

The Saul Alinsky & Noam Chomsky Marxist/Socialist methodology adopted by Obama..

RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.

RULE 2: “Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.

RULE 3: “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

RULE 6: “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.

RULE 7: “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news.

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.

RULE 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.

RULE 10: “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.

RULE 11: “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

Not only adopted by Obama, but the meme that he was a “Chicago Law Professor” is based on the fact that as a visiting lecturer, he gave courses on Alinsky’s organizing methods.
(In the “famous” photo of him teaching at U of Chicago, the drawing on the blackboard is Alinsky’s organizing model!)
BHO was recruited by the Alinsky organization to “organize” in Chicago.
The link with Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn was not an accident.

President Trump statements
Feb. 7 (tweet): ”… as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone.”

Feb. 10: “I think the virus is going to be — it’s going to be fine.”

Feb. 14: “We have a very small number of people in the country, right now, with it. It’s like around 12. Many of them are getting better. Some are fully recovered already. So we’re in very good shape.”

Feb. 19: “I think it’s going to work out fine. I think when we get into April, in the warmer weather, that has a very negative effect on that and that type of a virus. So let’s see what happens, but I think it’s going to work out fine.”

Feb. 24 (tweet): “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. … Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

Feb. 25: “You may ask about the coronavirus, which is very well under control in our country. We have very few people with it, and the people that have it are … getting better. They’re all getting better. … As far as what we’re doing with the new virus, I think that we’re doing a great job.”

Feb. 25: “Now they have it, they have studied it, they know very much, in fact, we’re very close to a vaccine,”

Feb. 26: “Because of all we’ve done, the risk to the American people remains very low. … When you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero. That’s a pretty good job we’ve done.”

Feb. 28: “I think it’s really going well. … We’re prepared for the worst, but we think we’re going to be very fortunate.”

Feb. 28: “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

Feb. 28: “This is their new hoax.”

March 4: “Some people will have this at a very light level and won’t even go to a doctor or hospital, and they’ll get better. There are many people like that.”

March 4: Now, this is just my hunch, but based on a lot of conversations with a lot of people that do this, because a lot of people will have this and it is very mild… So if, you know, we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better, just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work, some of them go to work, but they get better and then, when you do have a death like you had in the state of Washington, like you had one in California, I believe you had one in New York, you know, all of a sudden it seems like 3 or 4 percent, which is a very high number, as opposed to a fraction of 1 percent.

March 9 (tweet): “So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!”

March 10: “And it hit the world. And we’re prepared, and we’re doing a great job with it. And it will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.”

March 11: “I think we’re going to get through it very well.”

March 12: “It’s going to go away. … The United States, because of what I did and what the administration did with China, we have 32 deaths at this point … when you look at the kind of numbers that you’re seeing coming out of other countries, it’s pretty amazing when you think of it.”

March 15: “This is a very contagious virus. It’s incredible. But it’s something that we have tremendous control over.”

march 17: “I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic”

march 24: “We’re going to be opening relatively soon… I would love to have the country opened up and just raring to go by Easter.” He added in a subsequent interview: “Easter is a very special day for me… and you’ll have packed churches all over our country.”

That’s right. Trump was just going by the best evidence available at the time. Trump said yesterday he is America’s cheerleader and his aim in all that rhetoric was to keep everyone calm and focused.

If things had been left up to Democrats, the whole nation would look like New York right now, because they would not have put a travel ban into effect and it wouldn’t have taken long for the infection to spread all over the U.S. Even with the travel ban, the infection is all over the place, but luckily, so far there are only a few problem areas.

I wore my N95 mask to go shopping this morning for the first time. There were a lot of people doing the same. I imagine it will become very common, especially when the supply of masks catches up with the demand. They say it is illegal to go outside in public in China without wearing a mask. Before the virus, I used the mask when I mowed the lawn.

With possibly 25 percent of infected people being without any symptoms, but still able to infect others, it might be a good idea for all of us to put on masks in public for the duration.

Obama dealt with being wrong by going even further the wrong way. A billion and a half of cash for the Ayatollah, cheap at half the price for an Iranian deal. Reduce trade sanctions to induce a regime doing it’s best to produce nuclear weapons. Fat chance of anything going wrong there! O proved he was smart by covering up his hypocrisy.

1) She despises anyone who isn’t like her.
2) She thinks in stereotypes, she isn’t bright enough to realize that the only ones who believe the stereotypes that she lives by, is herself and her fellow libtards.
3) She actually believes that the overly simplified analogies that she comes up with accurately reflect the real world. (Not that she has ever bothered visiting the real world.)

If the trucks were identical in every way, then by definition they would have the exact same gas mileage. The only way to get a higher gas mileage is to reduce the power, the weight or some combination of the above.
