I guess we can’t blame BBC reporter Jo Coburn for being fooled, she probably doesn’t know what a real worker looks like.
As for Extinction Rebellion, has anyone else noticed they seem to have this desperate need to be accepted as normal people? But they aren’t normal, or at least they seem to come from a very narrow demographic; they mostly seem to be a bunch of idle climate obsessed rich kids.

It was a staged event for propaganda purposes. Of course the BBC knew they were not miners but they might have been minors. Its the old PotAtoe Potato on the public. We are mostly dupes and rubes to these magician assistants.
Love It when this sort of thing pops up. There’s so much of it that we are playing whack-a-mole. But keep up the good work. Occasionally I like to present these debunked stories sympathetically in a group setting to bait the Eco-loons to agree. Springing the trap it’s fun to see the disgust on their faces and better still to see the light of understanding on those not yet convinced.
The Eco Loons call this being an Ahole. I think of it as bopping idiots. Easy and fun.
I wonder if the Miners would have a case to Litigate against the BBC?
While I haven’t seen a good shot of those cardboard helmets, I can’t imagine how anyone could mistake one for a real helmet.

They sure use a lot of plastic props and signs, banners, etc., in addition to all the clothing made of oil-derived synthetic fibers and materials.
Shouldn’t they use hemp paper and charcoal for their signs and hemp, burlap or similar materials for clothing?
It’s like Greenpeace tooling around in fossil fuel powered ships and helicopters.
They should only be allowed to use tree bark for clothing from a tree that has been wind blown, food should consist of a turnip a day ,that’s what baldric survived on,that’s were they want us to end up right, for a winter blanket they should pick the wool from barbed wire ,were the sheep have crawled under, they have lobbied and succeed in getting open fires and coal banned, let them reap what they sow.

Apologies Mark my first reply did not make it( very poor connection in a snow blizzard) the helmets visible in the link are safety helmets not miners helmets, their brand new and have no were to attach head phones, lights ect
They are cheap “hard hats” for ‘dress up’ purposes meant to dress up visitors to meet “hard hat required” regulations at industrial/construction locations.
Not to protect their gray matter absent heads from falling boards, hammers, rocks, etc.
Well, technically, they somewhat protect visitors from cracking their heads on overhead obstructions.
The fake helmets are not the issue. They are props and I am sure did not fool the interviewer. The issue is BBC News broadcasting interviews with actors who are recruited or just turn up for the purpose of the demonstration, and then act the part of ex- or current miners expressing “spontaneous” views supporting XR. The whole XR machinery is very effectively run and financed and has close communications with the media, local police, universities and dance schools. It is a far cry from the student demonstrations of the 1960s.
Actually, B d Clark, sometimes miners in the USA refer to an open cast mine as a “pit”. I remember touring the Anaconda open pit mine in Butte, Montana, and part of the tour was of the Berkeley Pit. I asked them why they called it the Berkeley Pit and they said “because when we are through mining it we will put Berkeley in it”. Awesome! Butte is the town where Evil Knevil grew up in, a clue of sorts.
In the UK the mining communities had a saying “condemned to pit like, barley a whippersnapper ” which meant young boys from the age of 8 “went down pit” to open air doors for pit ponies and such like jobs, the term pit has remained the term for deep coal mining in the UK ever since ,

Open cast (surface mine) in western USA refers to the coal seam being mined as under the supervision of the “pit boss”, the rail loading area under the “tipple foreman” both reporting to the mine superintendent….at least back in the day.
I wonder if the police charge them a small fortune and give them a load of grief for policing their childish antics, just as they do when normal, law abiding folk want to organize something like a vintage car show? Just kidding ..maybe we should call it a vintage climate protest…

BBC = British Broadcasting Corporation. They have to broadcast. Not tasked to broadcast news, or, God forbid, truth.
You are almost right about “climate obsessed rich kids”. Add in “scientifically ignorant” and you a have the full description.
I went on one of their marches for half an hour and could not find a single person (no, not one!!) who knew even the absolute basics. I mean stuff my 12 year old grandson already knows.
I also went to one of their talks and it was appalling. I expected nonsense, but this would have to work its way up to being nonsense. I offered to give them talk on the basics, and of course they were no interested.

The children are not so much stupid, as they are misinformed. We parents have to turn them over to an educational system that has been co-opted by the ‘progressives’, and have failed to counter that bias by teaching them to think critically.
“Just another brick in the wall” is unfortunately the case, but these aren’t even constructive bricks. They are handy brickbats to be used and then cynically discarded.
As Agenda 21 advocates will point out, dumbing down of the education system is essential, so that the Plebs can be more easily lead & dictated to! Simples!

The BBC weren’t fooled. This was deliberate misinformation. That’s why the BBC reputation is in tatters over here in the UK. They are now so blatant in the causes they support they have to lie to the people who pay for their existence under threat of jail time. A real State broadcaster, but not sadly the British state.

Living in London too long, reporting on Westminster about London politics probably didn’t serve her well when confronted with, what in her mind, were real working folk in the N of England.
In the US, the East and Left coast elitist snobs refers to the middle section of the country where people actually work and produce the things city dwellers (energy and food) need as fly over country.
These same elitists typically, having spent their entire lives in the Big City, have no clue how fossil fuel energy intensive is modern agriculture at every step. A long process that produces the foods they expect to be waiting for them in their urban grocery stores and markets.
And het they demand an end to fossil fuel use by some date and somehow think those foods and vegerables rhey demand will still be there in their grocery stores at affordable prices.
Dumb beyond belief they are.
When a protester was described as having “tried to climb under a fence” it becomes apparent that BBC reporters are just as stupid.
With the UK legacy media it is always difficult to decide whether something was deliberate or just a result of their usual incompetence in doing a job that requires informing the public. I usually tend to think it is the latter as the former would require some intelligence which they universally lack. Bringing the miners into it adds what our lame media needs these days – personalities. It is not able to report on anything without adding in people.
If they were merely incompetent, there would be a chance of getting things wrong in both directions.
Their “mistakes” always manage to support the narrative. That’s no accident.
Maybe they are, but ‘climate’ is their means to an end: the overthrow of a democratic government and installation of a ‘People’s Parliament’ that is not beholden to the people. They won’t be happy until they have turned GB into another Venezuelan basket-case. Pretty soon, the consequences of their actions will really start to hurt ordinary people and (I sincerely hope) those ordinary people will rise up and bring XR down.
This government has less than five years left. It might take longer than that to get our country back unless a start is made very soon. Calling out the BBC – very, very loudly – is just a start. And for a start, Jo Coburn should be MADE to make an on-air apology and the BBC forced to make a significant donation to a miners’ welfare fund.

No doubt, Jo Coburn was not looking at or even acquainted with real safety helmets because she was blinded by Climate Alarmism.

Okay, wait a minute: Extinction Rebellion protesters have been caught lying? No! I have seen Roger Hallam in interviews and that man is incapable of deceit. When he says that he wants the U.K. to be carbon neutral by 2025, he is being perfectly serious, and if that goal is not reached, people will begin to die off as a species. He means every word.
Yeah. Once people have convince themselves that their cause is a matter of life and death, lying becomes a morally sound technique in the furtherance of it. The anti-smokers have lied throughout. Second hand smoke is probably harmless to most nonsmokers, but I have met many intelligent people who believe that, if they can see another human being smoking, their health is being severely compromised. That’s just nuts, but it is a variety of nuts that is now so well-established that it is useless to point out that it is nuts.
